And yet more humor has just been posted

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 28 degrees and no breeze.

The scale was nicely lower than yesterday morning, again, It seems that the "Time-restricted eating" combined with a 100% NS plan is working really well so far.

    Good morning!

I was missing yesterday! I read thru things logging my food, but with church I waited to evening to get back to MFP. It was a busy day and I have had trouble with my B/P the last week or so. The night before last I had a headache, and it was 198/98. Luckily I had some leftover pills they usually give at the Dr. office and ER for that. They honestly do not help much, but that with several brews of strong Camomille tea bring it down though temporarily. I have been having a 1/3 cup of caffeine coffee before my reg. decaf. so I figured that was it. It could be one of my meds is not working anymore, as that happens. Anyway, I just went to bed abruptly last nite and never got back to MFP, as intended.

It was colder here today, damp and in the 50's with a fair breeze blowing. So much for a sunny warm spring break, lol! We are to warm up a little, though it remains cloudy with chance of rain till the week-end, when the sun returns. Oh well, my daughter and I were planning a few outdoor things, but are missing the perfect weather of last week! Still, not bad weather though!
    Hi Jan
Wow that is a high Blood Pressure, Good luck getting down and keeping it down. I'm not sure that a 1/3 cup of regular coffee would do that unless You are super sensitive to caffeine.

At least it sounds as if the weather will be good for both of use for Easter.
Boy, I understand about the unexpected in the food day! It is amazing how you can be thrown off quickly! Your meal sounded awfully good though!! I was a little thrown off by small group last nite. We had fixings to make salad or sandwiches of tuna, pimento cheese, and potato salad, with chips . I did well, and had small amounts of each, and had the calories for it. I skipped the cookies for dessert. But on getting home, I wanted more cheese and crackers and was hungry. I settled for some red grapefruit sections, and lots of water! I was proud I persevered, but it was a hard night, lol!

I think we must just get poorer quality meats than you all! You would have noticed the meat seeming different. Maybe that is why Southerners fry the chicken so much, lol! :D

The elephant smoking was strange, though the reason made some sense! :# The snow would make me very worried about pollutants! I had not heard about the space craft falling yet! I may be like Chicken Little!! Remember him?

Hope you are still doing well, Val. I was surprised you have Sammy. I though it was another rescue! I guess he was not so settled in after all?

Take care all! Get back on it, Roger! :) Hope you find change!!

It is sad how having something can make You want more, I'm guessing You are not on medications that Grapefruit has a effect with how they work, unless that is why the high BP ?

I had to call my brother to help lift the bathroom sink to change the faucet, however it is now changed and the Lever handle types that go from off to full on in a 90 degree twist are easier to use.

Hi. You’re right Jan—the reason Sammy is staying with me is because I work from home...and with his cone on, he can’t get in/out the doggie door, so I’m here to provide that service. He’ll be here until the weekend but I’m seriously fond of him. He’s so easy going. Work is the same. I’m still doing well with my healthy eating. Mowed the grass today before storms tomorrow and Wednesday.

    Hi Val
Congratulations On eating healthy and the Mowing. Around here the grass is still mostly brown from the winter weather.

    Good morning!

We had a cloudy day that turned sunny and warmer. Yay!! I think the caffeine was responsible for my B/P. It is slowly going down. More like 155/ 80 now. I felt pretty rough this morning. As 2 of the pills have higher doses, my mental fog and just plain body heaviness is returning, as the B/P comes down. It is a really weird feeling. I take 2 kinds 2x a day, and another kind 3x a day. Seems like that would knock out an elephant! The grapefruit actually taken with cholesterol meds destroys liver cells. That is why it is avoided. It takes like a quart to do that most days though. I have a small amount on occasion, just because I love grapefruit. It should not do any damage that that. I have a family history of it. Also just had years of stress so it just does not turn off what triggers the pressure to rise. Oh well... :s

With jenny on break we went to lunch at an Indian restaurant with a great buffet. I did stay in my calories, but that was all I had today, with my 10 glasses of water! If I just maintain this week, all is good! We are going to Birmingham Weds. to a Middle Eastern restaurant. I figure I will get either Gyros, or lamb. It should be easy to count, and less calories than a buffet.if I don't get dessert!! Unless I get the rice pudding, that may still be high... :#

I like the bathroom fixtures, and a really good price. I have the knob kind, just one, that you turn to adjust. I hate it, lol! Sorry you are getting rain! Better than snow maybe! Thursday we are supposed to have a good amount, and maybe some storms again. Spring in Al.! It will be my down day I guess!

Good articles! Love the Egyptian remains and the black box story! I thought I had just missed the space station come down story. I just had the wrong week! What did you think on the square clouds?

Hope you find some change- you are due!! Have a good day everyone! ...Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 39 degrees with a light drizzle falling that quickly cleared up and no breeze. Yesterday I saw two Deer run across the road and later on at the halfway point I saw 4 of them by a brook. Then today on the return leg I saw 4 more heading towards a different brook.

I decided to change things up and go back to a regular pattern of eating starting Tuesday, Change is a good Thing to aid in weight loss.

    Hi Jan
You must be sensitive to caffeine :(
However it is good that the BP is dropping. I'm sorry to hear that You have to take so many meds. I wonder if the Grapefruit with the Cholesterol meds are any worse for the liver than to much Alcohol.

Congratulations on not falling into the Buffet Abyss and keeping within Your calorie goals. Oh yes, Rice Pudding is high in calories which is sad as I love a Good Rice Pudding topped with Whipped Cream.

That make this the second Bathroom that I have changed to that type of faucet. They are so much easier than the Knob type, OTOH if both of them had not gone bad I would not have spent the money to change them, Call me cheap

As I recall it the square clouds can be natural, How or why is strange however.

I only have three things on my shopping list and my brother will pick them up when he goes today or tomorrow. If I can stay out of the grocery store I'll be eating healthier since I can avoid impulse buys that way. He also needs to pick up the free ham we earned by spending $400 over a specified period of time.

    Have a Good Day

    Good Morning!

Interesting to go back to your regular way of eating! How much had you lost on the fasting plan? I heard changing it up was good! :) Sorry you have not found change on your walk! Bummer! It was a pretty day today, mostly sunny. I was also 73 degrees so very nice. Rain and storms tomorrow.

My daughter and I went almost to Birmingham, but a very nice drive. It took a little less than an hour. The restaurant I remember seeing before, and we had kind of laughed at it! It serves Southern style food, and Lebanese food. There are two menus and you can order from both if you want, lol. We went Lebanese. Not diet friendly if you do not go often. If I went a lot I would not be forced to order 2 appetizers, just because they are so good! I was over my calories, but hopefully will remain the same weight after a day. We had really good baba ganoosh, Like humus but with eggplant, not chickpeas. Also lamb samosas. I had a grilled lamb meat on top of humus with rice, as well as vegetable soup with lamb that came with the meal. My daughter got the combo so I shared some stuffed grape leaves, a ground seasoned lamb shaped like a hot dog, and a lamb fritter. I don't remember the last 2 names. They were amazing! I also ordered some somosas to take home. We have nothing like it where we are. Worth every calorie! Not good for losing weight!

The articles were all interesting, and really an assortment! I avoid buying several things as I know it derails me! I also save money when I stay home, lol! That is nice. Thurs. may be kind of a down day, which will be nice due to the weather. It is also tiring going out every day, but we have sure enjoyed it! fast week though!

Hope you have a pleasant day! I will eat on track today! Maybe! :D Thanks for humor!! ...Jan

    Hi Jan
Both methods seem to work, However changing the eating is a way to avoid a plateau. I also suspect that You could not do the time restricted eating if You have Diabetes.

Whee, I found a penny on the outbound leg and then walking across a Shopping Center parking lot on the homeward leg I spotted a Shiny Dime laying there.

The weather forecasts show some rain more than 1/2 of the days in the extended forecast.

I have never tried Lebanese food, I do not recall ever seeing a place nearby to try it at either.
My Brother Buys canned Stuffed Cabbage, Stuffed Grape Leaves and some sort of Eggplant dish at the Grocery Store.

    What are Samosas ?

Today I need to go to UPS and right up the road from there is a new Whole Foods and since I have never been in one I am curious and want to go check it out. I am hoping I can avoid overbuying Prepared foods there.
Yesterday my Brother brought home a Dry Italian Sub Sandwich. Dry means they did not put the oil and vinegar on it. I used the 1/2 of the meat from it with two 40 calorie slices of bread and a little Mayonnaise. Throwing out the Sub Roll and using the bread avoided a lot of empty calories and the scale was kind to me this morning with a loss rather than a gain or staying the same.

Those were some close calls in the humor post.

    Good Luck on the Scale

    Hello!

The scale was not too kind today!! It was still worth the meal. Lebanese food is very middle eastern, lots of countries have this. Morocco has it though spices vary and they have their own stuff too. It uses lots of garlic and cinnamon, onions, esp. with their meats. Very dense. Like the falafels. Very good. Somewhat like Greek with cinnamon. All the stuff your brother buys sounds greek but is used in middle east cooking with some spice difference. They use sumac spice (good!) and a zataar spice. (good!) . Spelling on the last might not be correct. Both India and middle east cooking have samosa, which makes sense as they shared the spice routes. Samosa are deep fried little pockets of savory dough, filled with finely ground lamb or veggies or even can be filled with dried fruits for dessert. They are divine. The food appears to be fattening, lol, so that might be why so many people wear kaftas. Just kidding, sort of!! :D I could go again today!!

I am glad you found some change! All is right with the world!! :)

It is sunny right now. Which will intensify storms later most likely. There was a tornado vortex signature, but I do not know if it caused damage. It was south of Tuscaloosa this morning for a while.

I forgot I signed up for the Pasta Mill with my group tonite. So much for 1 healthy day, as the pizza or the veal or eggplant parmigiana looks to be the tastiest of meals. OOOpps!

I have a gripe on these pages! I love to click on the things on the bottom of the comments as my mood strikes, like the like, insightful, ect. But I try not to, because then if you read the articles, esp. if not all at the same time, the like buttons all disappear! I try to wait and do it at the last, but today I noticed they were all gone again. Usually when the day is a new one they are set. I know that it is crazy, but it bugs me. It might be partly too the way I come into MFP that day!! Gripe over. I just bugs me!!

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 47 degrees and dry when I started out then a very light rain started falling that never became heavier.

Today I walked on a 3rd route in the last three days, Wednesday I saw two Deer on my way to get coffee then at the 1/2 way mark I saw four more heading down towards the water. Thursday on a second route I saw 4 Deer running along a stream and then today I saw two Deer, likely the same two as Wednesdays on my way for coffee then on a third route I saw 4 different Deer in a yard, likely eating the landscaping.

Yesterday I went to the new Whole Foods that is now open to look around. I did sample some of the hot & cold foods, I was not impressed by the Cardboard boxes available to use, They did not keep the food warm. WF seems to have an aversion to plastic including the bags used to pack the purchases. The Fancy fresh baked breads did look tasty if Calorie laden. FWIW the Hot & cold foods were $8.99 a pound.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 38 degrees and the sky was clear with a bright moon lighting the way as I walked.

Did anyone get a email from MFP about the hacking ? This one.

    Hi!

It may be Monday till I write. We have a lot going on at church. I signed up for prayer vigil after our Good Friday service. I took the 12:30 to 3:30 am slot (3 slots) since it is easy for me to stay up. I also took tonite's from 12:30 -2:30 am. Which would not be a problem, except my friend's husband died and the funeral was 11 am Sat. in Montgomery. Then I helped with the food, and did not get home till 4 pm. I layed down and feel good now. My B/P was 220 over 100 when I got home. Reinstating my diuretic may be working as it is now 123/63 and close, 2x. I hope it stays there. I am getting to church by 8:30 am for our Easter breakfast that I signed to help for before the funeral and extra vigil day. LOL, my best Easter will be my nap and not leaving the house come noon tomorrow! :) I enjoyed the vigil and would do that more often! :)

I wish I could go for walks from my house and would love to see deer. You are lucky to live in that type of neighborhood! ... Our Whole Foods uses plastic but encourages recycling. The food is tasty, and 2 rows of it, and they have a Paleo section, salads, pasta that is fresh to take home and make and /or take sauce, olives and pickles, pizza, gelato, fabulous bakery and breads, and also a Deli with unusual salads and other foods, (like tabbouleh salad and other ancient grains, egg rolls, pimento cheese, squid salad-- you name it!). They are all by the pound too. A little pricey, but sometimes not bad if you just buy by the half lb. or so. Some meats are a savings, but other you mortgage the house. It is great for a treat. I could not shop there regularly. Maybe I am lucky it is not close! Good selection of Amy's brand, and other organics. Some pricey, some not! :D

Have to run and cook sausage and take a shower, lol!

:# Have a wonderful Easter all! Stay safe! ...Jan

    Hi Jan
That makes sense that since You are a night owl that You would take the night shift for the prayer vigil.
I hate going to Funerals, they make me feel so sad.

Congrats on getting the BP down.
    Easter
My brother always gives a basket of goodies. It has Peeps in it, Yellow naturally. Jelly Beans, A chocolate egg, Something called Robins Eggs which the bag calls Malted Milk Candy in a Crunchy Shell, There goes the diet plan this week :(

I hope Your Easter goes well

OTOH not having Deer in the yard means that Your landscaping is safe from being part of their diet.

I completely agree that Whole Foods has a nice selection if very pricey....
I did see a little Plastic being used by them in the Pre packaged prepared food so the the contents could be seen. Other than that only if the manufactured foods on the shelves.

Sadly the Whole Foods temptation is near, probably 2 or three minutes past the Local ShopRite Grocery Store and the trip home is quicker being that I can jump onto the Highway that has a 55MPH speed limit.

    Enjoy the Sausage

    Whew!

I made it thru Easter Sunday worship and made it home. I napped, Played ball with May May, napped, watched Amazon stuff and really napped!! Great day!! I hope everyone had a good Easter!! I was making the above mentioned sausage for sausage biscuits for the church breakfast. They were all eaten, so it was a good choice. I took that and cantaloupe . Balanced breakfast! We had a huge crowd! And many yummy things! I plan on doing nothing Monday either!! :#

Hard to imagine you are getting snow. We have had the longest spring I can remember. probably because we have had it 3 times now, lol! I am not complaining as it has been beautiful!I can't believe people are not more careless with their change and leaving you some small bit of discovered change. How rude! :D

Somehow, that Easter basket sounds really good! I did not eat any candy this year. I do need to get back on the wagon here though. Too many savory treats!

Funerals not my favorite either. We have an awful lot of older and sick folk at church , so probably not good.

Enjoyed the humor and articles! I do hope everyone got some well deserved rest on Sunday!! :# Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 42 degrees and the snow in the forecast for today was starting to fall as I went out the door. When I left the snow had not started to accumulate, that has changed by the time I returned home there was around an inch on the sidewalks and roads and more than that on the lawns.
So much for the weather forecast that the snow would not start to accumulate on the roads until later in the day. Hopefully their prediction that the snow will melt away quickly after it ends is better :)

I hope You had a Happy Easter

    Hi Jan
Sausage Biscuits I'm guessing, Yummy !
Since I am now home from walking I have nothing else planned as I did the Laundry towards the end of last week and Only need to do it around three times a month with the large capacity washing machine.
Hard to imagine you are getting snow. We have had the longest spring I can remember. probably because we have had it 3 times now, lol! I'm looking out the windows and I see 2 to 3 inches of snow on the Picnic Table outback, I'm not going out with a ruler to check, the local Cable news channel is saying 2 to 4 inches in my area with treacherous driving conditions.

They were showing the Intersection of State Highway 28 and the side road by the strip mall where the local ShopRite, Burger King, Little Caesars Pizza and more are located and it did not look that good.
I ended up curious so I leaned out the front door and stuck a yardstick into the snow, around 1inch Plus on the sidewalk and 4 inches on the ground next to the steps.

I agree, how greedy of them holding onto their money and not throwing at around

The Robins Eggs were much to sweet to eat too many of them and that is from someone with a sweet tooth. I ended up eating a few Jelly beans to compensate.

Sunday was a bad Day for me and I was afraid to climb on the scale.

I went to the new Whole Foods for Fresh Fruit and made the mistake of walking past the Breakfast Bar that they put out before they switch to other hot foods for the lunch hour. I ended up with too much. Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Quiche Loraine, Corn Bread and some Brazilian Cheese Bread. It was all tasty, However I do need to stay away from the temptation known as the Grocery Store

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!!

I wish I was at that breakfast bar!! You may be in trouble with it so close! Did you have ham for Easter? I was planning on having steak and potato salad, but had leftovers from the funeral and since I ate at the breakfast, I skipped cooking anything as my calories were adding up. You may do better than you think if you get right back on NS and limit those carbs!! :) I had a heart attack this morning , but in a good way stepping on the scale. :D I expected to be really heavy, and low and behold, I had dropped and only have 2 pounds to lose to get back to my lowest rate. I reserve too much joy until the am on Tuesday!!

Wow, some eye opening articles! I am glad I do not live in Venezuela. The dr. article is terrible. :'( The space station was a relief- none on my house, lol! I am no fan of the drive it itself car. It appears my fear of them is justified! The thought machine would be great for non verbal patients! Poor Taxis person... I would have dumped her at Bellvue after a few stops.. or the police station... maybe the plastics make us weigh heavy!! ;)

Yep, I stay home and save money, for sure!! I am glad of my days at home! I am glad you do not have too much to do, always nice!! I watered the first time today.. I have wet shoes and a wet, stinky dog, that thoroughly had a good time chasing the water stream and getting in the way!! :) Your time will come with the watering soon, I promise!! I am forgetting what it likes having that snow till you are trudging in it. I think it is about 74 degrees, and I bet Val is the same, if not warmer!! We get rain around Weds. again.

Take care and behave. My doc just called and said to see my cardiologist, and I have the lag and x-ray saying I have mild CHF. On well.... :| Explains me feeling weird.... ...Jan B)

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 31 degrees and the snow from yesterday has vanished from the sidewalks, driveways and streets. That snow was done falling by midmorning and we had around a inch on the sidewalk and over four inches on the lawn when I checked with the yardstick.

There is Rain Forecast to fall later in the day and again at some point on Wednesday :(

    Hi Jan
The good news is that my brother parks behind me in the driveway so I am less likely to go to the breakfast bar than I am to stop at the local diner or eatery while walking for 2 eggs, Rye or Whole Wheat Toast a couple of small bites of Home Fries. If I stop I tell them to only put a very small portion of the Home fries on the plate, if it is not there it is a little hard to eat

Congratulations on that 2 pounds, Good Luck this morning.

The Doctors situation problem there is only a tiny aspect of the entire mess their economy is in.
The Poor Taxi Driver, and the Plastic in Your food is just weird.

    Good Morning!

Well, your weather is something! Snow followed by rain. Pretty fast changing in a small amt. of time!! ;) Sorry no change!!

I shouldn't abbreviate! CHF is congestive heart failure, which I rather expected. I think this time it is more confirmed thru the lab and x-rays. My doc does not seem on his game lately. I am not sure I liked him changing 2 of my meds at the same time. my B/P seems all over the place. Last nite it was 108/64 and I was so light headed I drank 1/2 cup of caffeine tea. I felt I was going to pass out. Now it is 150/77 and I just feel weird as if my heart is just racing or I have had a scare. Not a good feeling...

Crazy stories! That 107 yr old lady seems more together than me!! The cemetery is nuts..I would be more concerned with the drug use than the sleeping in graves, though it gives me the creeps! Well, the rest of the world seems nuts! :D

I was down again this morning, so am at my lowest weight wise and with a good couple days of being on track in the future. Yay!! :)

Good thing your brother blocks your car! It must be nice to have your brother living with you. I am an only child so not familiar with siblings!! :#

Stay on track- I will be interested to see how your reg. eating works after the fasting!! Take care!!
Miss you Val!! Hope it is not too crazy!!!! ...Jan
