    And yet more humor, Enjoy

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 1 cent. The temperature this morning was 41 degrees and the leftover snow has vanished From Yesterday. The is Rain that was Forecast as a 80% chance is falling in the form of a light mist/drizzle. Overnight the Fog was really bad and at 4AM You could almost see the nearby corner. It did get easier to see by the time I left the house :)

    Good Morning!

Well, your weather is something! Snow followed by rain. Pretty fast changing in a small amt. of time!! ;) Sorry no change!!

I shouldn't abbreviate! CHF is congestive heart failure, which I rather expected. I think this time it is more confirmed thru the lab and x-rays. My doc does not seem on his game lately. I am not sure I liked him changing 2 of my meds at the same time. my B/P seems all over the place. Last nite it was 108/64 and I was so light headed I drank 1/2 cup of caffeine tea. I felt I was going to pass out. Now it is 150/77 and I just feel weird as if my heart is just racing or I have had a scare. Not a good feeling...
    Hi Jan
That does not sound good to me. I wonder if it is time to look for another doctor ?

I have found that eating a lot of Carbohydrates cause me to feel what appears to be my heart Beating super strong, not really fast, just real strong. I am thing that could be a bad thing.
Crazy stories! That 107 yr old lady seems more together than me!! The cemetery is nuts..I would be more concerned with the drug use than the sleeping in graves, though it gives me the creeps! Well, the rest of the world seems nuts! :D

I was down again this morning, so am at my lowest weight wise and with a good couple days of being on track in the future. Yay!! :)

Good thing your brother blocks your car! It must be nice to have your brother living with you. I am an only child so not familiar with siblings!! :#

Stay on track- I will be interested to see how your reg. eating works after the fasting!! Take care!!
Miss you Val!! Hope it is not too crazy!!!! ...Jan

I am hoping my mind is sharp in ten years, let alone at 107 Years Old. These Days when my Birthday happens my birthday wish is simple. I wish for more Birthdays

Today's news links may strike You as weird too

FWIW I could tell the people of Baltimore the problem, Their Mayor threw the Police under the bus added to the highest taxes in the area and Voila.

Having the car parked in does tend to prevent impulse eating from Takeout foods or fast foods.

It seems like a Complete lack of respect for the dead to sleep in their graves :(

In many ways having my Younger brother here is great.

    Have a Nice Day
    Roger

    Good morning!

I am trying to change DRs but the new Dr so far has not given me an okay yet if he is taking care of me. Frustrating. It was supposed to take 4-6 weeks, but it has been longer and no word. The office said he has not sent them word of new patients yet. My blood pressure is 182/107 this am. No wonder I feel like doing and accomplishing something, though it is not good for me to have high B/P. Waiting on my cardiologist consult. Shame they all do not discount when waiting...lol!

I was not so good yesterday, though I tried. The lady I have been helping was somewhat off her game. I was to go there to give her a hand, but she was rather unfocused. Something would come up, and she would lose focus, resulting in me being on the road instead of home. I kept changing my meals, having a 230 calorie smoothie, no added sugar for breakfast. That did not hold me and I stopped for a Mcdonald cheeseburger that cut into calories. When we finally got together and I helped her some, we made a trip to do a few errands and low and behold, it was 5pm. She wanted to stop and get a coke or something, but I know she does not eat much or have much money, so I took her to dinner. We ended up at a small Mexican place. You know that is not calorie friendly! :D However, we talked, relaxed, and it was good. That put me 500 calories over, but this am, I had not gained! I was thankful. I plan on eating a lot more fish, and working on my lab results to get down, by eating more appropriately. Hopefully a good sign. I want to crack this next 10 lbs.... :#

Interesting and weird articles.. The George Washington one, I agree is nuts. I NEVER noticed me or my children getting special privileges by being Christian or white. Quite the opposite. Maybe we did well because we led a clean life and worked hard.. Maybe God's "suggestions" for life are just good.... Duh!! The Baltimore situation is just unreal. Why would these people have no term limits...Another duh.. with the ham burglar story. Why did he take so much ham? It does seem TV's or something you would be fencing..But ham?? :*

We were at 88 degrees yesterday, and a cold, damp 60 today with 25 mile an hour wind!! Probably you will get this weather in a bit too! Hang tough and eat sensibly!!

Miss you Val, hope all is well! <3

    Hi Jan
Good Luck with the Doctor change and Cardio.

Fish, hmm, As long as it is not breaded
Why not get a Egg McMuffin instead of the Burger, AFAIK they are sold all day. Ouch, Now I am making myself hungry for one :(

Yesterday I pulled a Breakfast Burrito from the freezer, one of two that I bought a while back when they were on sale at the Quick Chek 2 for $4. I vacuum sealed them and threw them into the freezer. I mention them since I eat something before walking and what I did was slice it in half and microwave it. Tasty too, My other option was a NS Yellow Pound Cake. I find that walking without eating I tend to run out of energy earlier so...

Something else I do is buy two of the Quck Chek muffin sandwichs which are on sale currently at the 2 for $4. I take the Meat, egg and cheese out of them and eat that and discard the English Muffins as that is the worst thing in them for a diet. The sell Egg, Cheese and meat where the meat can be Sausage, Bacon or Pork Roll.

Colleges seem to have gone wacky with silly course like Christian Privilege, White Privilege, and Toxic Male masculinity. They seem to be doing their darnedest to destroy anything that is older. Now in NYC they want a statue of Jefferson removed at a college. I never felt privileged, I did feel poor OTOH.

    Good morning!

I laughed when I saw you reminding me about the egg mcmuffin! I actually remembered they sold then right after I ordered the cheeseburger! I try not to stop at fast foods as a reward, so I had totally forgotten about them being sold all day! :#

Insightful articles! I have dreamt of being left in a fast food place, Yummy! But I guess I would need the cook there too! I know you guys are happy junk mail keeps the post office in business, but yesterday I had 2 pieces of actual mail, and threw out about 15 of junk. It drives me crazy. I order a lot from Amazon, so I guess they are losing quite a bit from me...Ooops! I laughed at the pasta story. I wish I could just eat a half cup of pasta. That would be a major mindset change! It seemed strange as really, if we all ate the servings and way we should, no food would be a problem. Pasta still gives me cravings later, and really who stops at 1/2 cup. I know what they meant, but it does not get to the crux of the matter. At least with my lack of willpower!! :D

Glad you walked, though it seems somewhat inhospitable weather! I do need to exercise every day...still not doing well with that! :*

    Hi Jan
The Egg McMuffins are even better for You if You throw away the top or bottom 1/2 Muffin

I suspect that anyone that never worked in a Fast Food place like McDs, Wendy's or BK would be hard pressed to figure out how to get all the equipment working to cook the foods...
Lets see, to make that Cheeseburger You would need to figure out how to use the clamshell grill, Bun Toaster etc.

Eat only a 1/2 cup of pasta, Heck I can not even eat just one serving of Kraft Dinner made the way I like it. That would be cooked, drained, and a 1/4 Pound of butter to hold the cheese packets contents. I prefer it not creamy the way the boxes cooking directions show. Strangely enough I do not mind the way Diners, grocery Store How food bars make it which is a creamy sauce. Whole Foods has two types of Mac N Cheese, One uses a different cheese and some Asparagus. I sampled both types and I likes both of them, Oh Oh :(

After I came home I looked out the window a little bit later and it was snowing, that changed to rain and has now stopped. It seems I was lucky that it was dry and windless while I was out walking.

    Enjoy today's humor too

    Hello!

Congratulation on finding a penny! :) You have more changeable weather than we do! That is saying something. I did wake to some pounds lost. That was good, but I must say I was never so hungry as I was yesterday. I did go over my calories some, but was happy with the weight loss in spite of it! Two of the pounds I lost already, but that is okay! :#

I make up Kraft mac and cheese the same way you do. While I like many mac and cheeses, I still like Kraft; must be from my childhood..You probably shouldn't mention Whole foods or Mac and cheese, lol!

If I was in a McDonalds, I guess I would figure out those machines!! :p

Interesting articles. The NY earthquake on a large scale would be quite frightening! Actually, so are zombie raccoons. I figured it was rabies or distemper.. Hospital costs are out of sight. Even for people with insurance. They seem to forget we have set money coming in..and not more when raising their prices. Cable and phone and about all bills, as a matter of fact!

    Hi Jan
I sort of assumed I was one of the few that liked it that way rather than being made with milk. Not to mention if I liked it creamy I would not be using milk, I would be using Half & Half or Light Cream. I need to hibernate in the house and stay well away from Grocery Stores and Eateries.

Costs in general are becoming obscene :(

I did manage to reduce by phone bill by half OTOH. When Verizon cut of the copper landline service and pushed Fios instead which I feel was a business move driven by two reasons. Reason One that way they only have to maintain and repair one service rather than Copper lines and Optical Cable. Reason Two With the Fios service in the house now they can push their Internet and TV service, I suspect that the addition of those services would be cheap and easy once the Fios service for phone is in the house.

Now, how did I cut my phone bill in half ? Easy I decided to port my landline to cellular. I went for Consumer Cellular with 200 minutes and no texting. The Flip Phone was cheap and it's cost was offset by the free month of service for being a AARP member and the AARP discount.

    I saw these

And yet more humor is posted

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 1 cents. The temperature this morning was 30 degrees. While I was sitting in the living room eating my Pre Walk snack motion outside the window caught my eye. I thought it was one of the Dog walkers I usually see at that time of morning, When I looked out I saw two Deer walking down the street. Later while I was at the Midpoint of my Walk I saw two More Deer walking through a yard. Yesterday I heard an Owl Hooting and a close by Woodpecker, No matter how hard I looked I could not see either one of them.

FWIW I filled the Gas Tank in the car on the 4th, it cost $24 and was the first fillup this year, the last fill was on December 17th. Did I mention I do not do much driving as I can walk to many places I need to go and my Brother does not mind picking up things at the ShopRite for me.

    Good morning!!

I was MIA there for a bit! Sorry! I thinks I am caught up on all the articles, and there were many good ones! My weekend just took an unexpected turn! I was quite heartened to know you found a quarter!!!! YAY!!! and some pennies! Sounds like a great day! :D walking pays off. It is quite grey and dismal here today and chilly. It is probably in the low 50's but feels like 30's to us, lol. Friday and Saturday I was reading something my daughter gave me, and took a good bit of the day.

(cont.) I got interrupted by a phone call, and had to make one, lol! Like I said, my Sat. started fine, then I went around 4 pm to shop for guest lunch. I finally got home, ate, and was so dead tired, I was slow putting away groceries and cooking. I went to bed at 11 pm, and still had to cook some on Sunday morning. I was too tired to put in my calories or write. :'( I could barely get going on Sunday, but got to church, setup, cleaned up and did hit small group that nite. I did not eat well on Saturday or Sunday and was tired from outside work and not enough sleep on Friday nite, when I read till almost 3 am. I plan never to do that for awhile, at least not on a week-end! :(

I really enjoyed the articles in the sense I just could shake my head at most of them. They do not always put us as humans in the best light. I did kind of like that girl bought out all the cupcakes after that woman called her what she did. Kind of a great response, I thought... and laughed!! :#

I seriously need to stick to a plan for a day or two, with my eating. Though it will come off again fairly easily, I have put a few pounds on again just from Sunday, mostly. I did not really enjoy a good bit of it, I just wanted to eat and it was there, or like supper, we always eat at small group, and I was not really hungry or satisfied, but you do not want to hurt anyone's feelings!! Bummer after working so hard on it!

hang in there! headed for humor!! :) Have a good Tuesday!! :) ...Jan

I posted more humor this morning

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 38 degrees. I shortened my walk today, I had thought that unheated Gloves would be adequate, Sadly I could feel my fingers getting too cold thus I short circuited my walk :(

Overnight there was a light rain and on the way out I was getting hit with a few stray drops that stopped around the time I stopped for coffee and it is now drying off outside.

An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates.
St. Peter checks his dossier and says, “Ah, you’re an engineer — you’re in the wrong place.” So, the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in.
Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they’ve got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is a pretty popular guy.
One day, God calls Satan up on the telephone and says with a sneer, “So, how’s it going down there in hell?” Satan replies, “Hey, things are going great. We’ve got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there’s no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next.”
God replies, “What??? You’ve got an engineer? That’s a mistake — he should never have gotten down there; send him up here.” Satan says, “No way. I like having an engineer on the staff, and I’m keeping him.”
God says, “Send him back up here or I’ll sue.”
Satan laughs uproariously and answers, “Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?!”

Some days we all have a energy shortage...

I thought so too, People have no right to be so judgemental, as I'm sure You know we all have our issues. My guess is that the woman that made the comment is judgemental for many things about people around her and is a sour type of personality. I do have to hope that all the cupcakes were not eaten by the purchaser and instead were handed out to family and work.

If you put the weight from one days eating, then likely most if not all of it is water retention.

    Thanks

    Good Morning,

Slowly getting back into my routine. I did fairly good yesterday till the end of the night when I got into a few leftover biscuits from church. Church seems to be my biggest temptation! Go figure, lol! :|

It is still a little chilly, but the sun is out and the birds are singing like mad. They obviously were not thrilled the temperature keeps dropping everytime it rains. I miss my morning of caffeine. Decaf just doesn't kick start you in the morning...

That poor girl who was embalmed. That was a mistake not made everyday, thank God. I does not surprise me, though. While the Russians do make progress in some areas, their overall life for regular people remains rather dismal. When my friend was there in the 80's and 90's, most of the people hardly had good things to eat or even serve them. These poor people put together their food supply for weeks, and often it is uneatable things to foreigners, that you eat to not embarrass their hosts. when they try to better something, there is no infrastructure in place to do it, or no people who remember how it is done. The family of the girl seemed to have some money, but did not help her in the long run. I do not see justice being done there-if so- I would be surprised! :(

I am glad you found some more money, if it is even a penny. People just do not carry money like they used to! I am also glad you cut your walk short if you were not warm enough! Walking while chilly is downright uncomfortable.
Love the joke about God and Satan; isn't that the truth! :#

    Hi
I'm back from walking and with 1 cent. The temperature this morning was 29 degrees.
The plan for the day is going to the Grocery Store, whether one or two I have not decided. I could stop at Whole Foods and pick up some bacon from the hot breakfast bar to use later this week or I could pick up the ShopRite Precooked bacon when I am there picking up water, Apples, Fresh Baby Carrots and Some Frozen Vegetables. I haven't decided, they are located a few minutes from each other despite being in adjacent towns.

    Hi Jan
Ironic that You find church to be Your biggest temptation since a church should help fight temptation.

I find that I need my Regular coffee to energize me for my walking. I can feel myself faltering as I near wherever I plan to pick it up, one of three locations or home brewed, Then as I take some sips I start to do better

I could hear the birds Chirping, an Owl Hooting and a Woodpecker Pecking this morning, I finally saw the first regular sized Daffodil in bloom today too.

I have heard that is a agonizing way to die. Today's article about Marijuana is sad, Much of what makes it sad to me is that they do it to themselves and now so many states including the Governor of NJ want to legalize it just for the tax revenue :(
I am glad you found some more money, if it is even a penny. People just do not carry money like they used to! I am also glad you cut your walk short if you were not warm enough! Walking while chilly is downright uncomfortable.

If I said I do not understand those people that carry no money and want to use a Debit or Credit card for everything ? When I was working the last job which was retail we had a $10 minimum amount for use of them due to the fees charged to small locations by the credit card processors.

You may like tomorrows joke(s) too, hopefully

    Good Morning!!

What a day yesterday I had! I was catching up on stuff in the morning and working on income tax. Nothing like flirting with the deadline...lol! I had to leave here at 1pm to get May her 2 pm appt. time. They are taking x-rays of her leg. I did some shopping while the vet did that. I got back to the vet around 3:40, but she was still waking up. They got really busy, so I ended up not leaving till almost 5 pm, after I talked with the vet again. It appears she has a small tear in her ACL. I go back to the main hospital on 4/19 to have the surgical vet take a second look, and see if she needs surgery. The bill will be terrible, but hopefully she will not need the 300.00 dollar a month pills anymore after the surgery done heals. I hope... :| I was then late meeting my daughter for dinner. We still stopped and got some BBq ribs, though I had fried green tomatoes and cheese curds instead of the collards and green beans I had meant to get. And I know better, lol.... >:) I went to bed early; I was just beat and never opened the website again since the AM when I read it..... >:)

I am glad you found your pennies! Your walks do sound good, even if it remains cold! At least you had a warming trend, and saw some daffodils! I am proud of you going to whole foods and only buying bacon! I would not be that disciplined!! I did avoid it yesterday when I was out. I did over eat yesterday when I was out,,,oh well... :D I am one of those people who rarely have cash. I do try to buy enough so it is worth the store's while.. Those were some articles! I guess if people shoot women and children, being a nun does not help you any more. I am glad the guy was caught! I am not too sure i would go back to the church where the guy shot out the windows. I would think he would come back eventually. I wonder how the guy who cut him out feels...if it was real and not perceived...when politicians have an ego like that, they are probably not effective. I would not vote for her...I think the fasting diet is not skipping meals as much as it is a routine. Diets tend to make you regain in some people. Which is for other reasons often than the diet, but could be the diet. I just found the article too simplified to be useful. :# i hate that they band breeds. More often it is the owner at fault. I think more should do more concerning them, the owner, especially with strong breds. But little yappy dogs can be terrors, too...I laughed at the coke blowing into the lady's purse. I would almost give an "A" for creative thinking... :D Yes, FB is tracking you too!! :# And you would think they had worked out the taxes on marijuana..whether controlled or not...illegal or not...Taking it is a very bad idea...

Hope you have a good Friday and week- end! Thanks for humor!! :) ...Jan B)

    Hi Jan
    Good Luck with May.

The BBQ Ribs sound delicious although it does depend on what style of BBQ ribs, Wet, Dry, KC etc.
I do like Cheese Curds and have never had Fried Green Tomatoes. I think I would have Gone for the Collards and Green Beans considering that I am not feeling adventurous enough to try Fried Green Tomatoes.

I ended up with Bacon and Scrambled Eggs, Today I will be having the third days meal off of them. I do not even carry a Credit Card or Debit Card, especially no Debit Card ! Debit cards can be dangerous for two reasons, One is that You do not have the same protections as You do with a Credit card, Second reason is that with all the Data breaches You would be giving them access to clean out Your Bank Account. Third Reason is that I have known people that lost track of their usage and overdrew their checking account. Thus I have a pair of credit cards and no Debit cards.

If I said people are much to sensitive, You are cut off by someone so You shoot up the church. Politicians seem to feel entitled to special treatment, Wrong by the way.

Most of the news I link is to make a person think.

Have a Good Friday the 13th

    Good morning!

Sorry no money! You might like fried green tomatoes! First off they are fried- how bad can that be, lol! They are just a little tart, but not at all bad! Have you had fried pickles? They are good too, though I am picky about the kind of pickles. My daughter and I went to a new to us Italian restaurant. It was so good! She has spaghetti and meatballs and I had a sausage, turnip green and mushroom lasagna in am alfredo type of sauce. Sounds strange,, but really good. They have great red sauce and pizza and calzones. I will have to go back! We ate at home today being good, as we have eaten out too often, I am afraid! >:)

Interesting articles. They do make you think!! Burned house or not, I felt i was missing something. That was a small looking house on a small looking lot. The neighborhood did not look that great. $800,000? No way, even if I was rich!! :D Reminds me of the children's tale, "The Emperor's New Clothes". Remember that? Not going to Mexico, either.... :s Most definitely do not want E.Coli.....yikes....

Val, I am sorry you are having it so rough!! Please take care of yourself!! I hope you can find some time for yourself and things slow down... <3

Headed for bed..up late is a bad habit!! Take care all!! ..Jan
