    Good morning!!

Glad you are doing so good, Val! The weight I have kept off was my NS loss. This next 10 lbs. I am again playing back and forth. I just have not been to motivated and I guess I am a little stressed and choose to use that as an excuse. I know better.. I am glad you are more structured and am in gear! That can only be a plus for you!! LOL!! Or a minus from the weight point of view!! :)

Glad spring has sprung for you Roger! We are in a summer pattern, though not summer just yet! 90's this week and no rain for a while now. It is so dusty!!

No, my property tax is for the year! :# I have a septic tank, as I am kinda country. I live in an incorporated township just outside the city limits, by 2 miles or so. My water is not the closest city, but a smaller sub station area or it's own- rural, I guess you might say. My bill practically tripled about 15 years ago, it was cheap at around 12 dollars a month. Now it is around 35 ish but stable for years, a month. If I water a lot it can be in the 50's or higher. Our tax is just mostly based on land and house. When we were in South Carolina as our start, they kept trying to say we remained S.C. residents. Their property taxes are on land, house, cars, personal items in the house, ect. We could hardly afford it. We had to prove to them we established residence in the states we were stationed in. And we were correct legally. They wanted to be a greedy little state!! Their taxes are on par or higher than yours. :/

You would be surprised what passes for pet care nowadays, Roger!! :D

I understand about the not deciding to decide. I do that too. As my daughter reminds me, not deciding is a decision, lol!! :*

After my income taxes this year, the surgery and house repairs, I may not be going anywhere for a while. Usually my funds do not take a noticeable hit in spite of what I have going on. Not this year though. It is enough to give me nightmares!! And I still have a few things I need to repair on the house. Gas is $3.05 a gallon as I have to use midgrade in my car. Stuff is just ridiculously expensive now days. When I cut back, the rise in prices justs eats away my efforts. I am about to do a budget overhaul again I guess! :| Sorry to complain!!

I am going for humor, and will answer about it in a minute! Great news stories. Love the sturgeon pic! ...Jan

Good morning. Yesterday i sold two large items netting $190 total. It feels good to declutter AND get a bit of cash. Currently I’m keeping all declutter sales funds in an envelope...not sure where to apply this (vacation, debt payment, put part towards a few lottery tickets, etx.) Last night I rode my stationary bike for an hour (while playing Words with Friends). I used low tension but i moved! We’re in the 90s daily too.

    Humor Again

    Hi
I'm back from walking no cents. The temperature this morning was 54 degrees and the walking was OK until the light wind arrived. There is rain in the forecast for later on today. Today's Plans are Bank then CostCo.

FWIW FedEx dropped off the frozen at 7:08 PM :( I was checking it in and storing it away until 8PM.

I had the new NS Cinnamon Coffee Cake @ 170 Calories before heading out the door, I put it in the refrigerator and gave it enough time in the MW to warm it instead of MW'ing it from frozen as indicated on the package or eating it at room temperature which was the alternative given. It was tasty too.

Today's CostCo visit is for three types of paper goods, TP, Kleenex and paper towels. One opened sleeve of TP left, One roll of paper towels and 6 Kleenex so a case of all three is indicated. Then I will look at the Fruit and see if anything looks good and pick up frozen vegetables.

FWIW the Frozen Vegetable selection at Whole Foods was not as good as at the ShopRite and pricier, OTOH 16 ounce bags at WF vs 12 ounce bags at the grocery store

I am thinking of hitting WF in the next few days for more Bacon to make BLTs with as their bacon was tasty.

    Hi Val
The problem with regaining is why I get a NS delivery every three months to aid in maintenance. A few days of NS to make up for overindulging in those guilty but tasty pleasures masquerading as food helps.

Too Hot for me so early. Congrats on selling more clutter, one persons junk is another persons treasure

I think I would weigh the benefit of lowering the interest paid on debt vs the need to do something to unwind.

    Good Luck

    Hi Jan
Don't feel bad my weight has been bouncing up and down like a rubber ball here too.
I need to crack down and get going down only again

Spring does seem to have sprung, Early flowering trees and bushes are starting to fade and others are blooming. Our irises are about to bloom in the next couple of days, The large blossom ones first and then the later blooming smaller blossoms will follow. I am seeing a lot of Violets in the yards I pass blooming as well in the yard.

How the heck can they justify taxing items in the house ? Greedy seems like an understatement. Strangely our water bill and yours are around the same. The water used to be cheap and then, up up and away :(

    I might not be surprised...

I am glad neither of us have to use anything more expensive than regular in the Car and Pickup truck. I will say that for something that burns regular the car has plenty of power. My brother complains every time he fills the F150, it usually eats a $50 bill and he hates to let it get below 1/2 full AKA 1/2 empty.

    Hi
I'm back from walking no cents. The temperature this morning was 63 degrees and the walking was good.
Today is looking nice outside and the Iris that I thought would possibly open today ended up opening in the
afternoon Thursday. Rain is showing in the weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday :(

    Hi
I'm back from walking no cents. The temperature this morning was 55 degrees and the walking was good considering the light rain falling. Our Friday was a really nice day, not to hot, not to cold and dry

This mornings rain is forecast to end in a while then a break before what is predicted to be heavy rain lots of wind, lightning and a possibility of rotating winds :(

Today I need to resist the temptation to go get some PAD SEE EW, Stir fried broad rice noodles in sweet soy sauce with Chinese broccoli and eggs

It was tasty I think I prefer the Cinnamon Coffee Cake. I consider all three of the new snack cakes to be a good addition to the NS snacks.

    Hi Val
I have been thinking about looking at the Atkins foods since I am sensitive to Carbs, However I do think the Net Carbs thing is somewhat misleading. As an example the total carbs are 15g vs 3g net carbs. The rest of the carbs are supposedly offset by the 13g Protein. At least in my case the Total carbs seem to what I am sensitive too. Too many carbs and I go off the rails for what I eat, they seem to be a trigger for overeating and then they make me feel heat more than if I avoid them.

Having said that those bars would work for me if I were not overstocked with NS snacks, Thanks for the mini review.

    Congratulations

Happy Mother’s Day Jan! Hi Roger. I’m continuing to eat well and that feels good. Took my kiddo driving today. I love that kid. She’s doing well, but needs time to get comfortable behind the wheel and grow her skills and confidence. Glad we started early. Otherwise I didn’t get much done today. She has a 4.0 GPA, but Harvard minimum GPA is 4.4, so she’s a little glum. I’m thinking Rice might be nice for her. It’s #8 nationwide for math, 1/4 the cost of Harvard...and an easy drive to visit me! So I’m going to take her on a tour there. Plus they take top 15% of students and an is in 9th percentile nationwide so that should be doable.

Val, hope your Mother's Day was great! It sounded good, spending it with Em! You must be so proud of her!!!
Sounds like a good plan you have going!! Hope the headache was a short one!!

Roger, Great articles. Wish I had enough money to name the dinosaur! Chinese had chicken broccoli, Taos chicken, honey chicken, fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, dumplings, dim son, pea pods, fruits, desserts, low main, fried rice, bok choy, green beans, ..more..I can not remember!! :D
Tonite we ate Mexican, but beach Mexican! All the favorites plus made also with grilled shrimp/ fish. I had the shrimp quesadillas, and Jenny had fish tacos. Food is GREAT! We have eaten there before. I also had a wonderful grilled street food- corn on the cob, with queso cheese, tomatoes, and a good sauce. Probably not spelled right. Jenny had a rum and ginger-beer, that was awesome. I tasted! And light on the rum, which was nice! We are going to a Philippine buffet for lunch, after the last morning on the beach. We are in bed early and hit the room after supper to watch the sunset on the water from balcony and bed we are so wiped out. Getting old!! Take care all! :# ...Jan

    Hi Val
I must be stupid, I did not know You could go higher than a 4.0 GPA, is that a recent thing ?

For a moment as I was reading I thought Rice, What does food have to do with it and then I read further

I Would be afraid of the cost of Harvard if nothing else.

Driving is a skill that takes time to get the proper reflexes. I was hit years ago by a new driver, they drove through a red light, hit traffic on the street and that changed their course to where they ran head on into my car where I was sitting on the other side at the red light with no way to avoid it :(

    Good Luck

    Hello!!

:# ...Jan

    Hi Jan
    Wow, All those Buffets...
If I said I like the green Beans with a sauce at the Chinese buffets locally. I tend to also get the Chicken Broccoli and try to drain off a lot of the sauce.

Beach Mexican ? In what way is that different ? It as my understanding that Queso is the Spanish word for cheese

    Have a Good Time

Taking AP courses can raise a GPA above 4.0. I have no idea how long that’s been going on. When Em first said she wanted Harvard, my mind went to cost then the Boston density (Em’s an introvert and that could really bug her). She assumed my pause was thst I didn’t believe in her. This morning we had an argument about even visiting Rice University. But after school she wanted to...and her friends wanted to come on the tour too. I felt awful all day today.

    Good morning!!

Yes, the buffets are killing me! I will not step on the scale for days.... I got home around 4 pm and had enough time to pick up May early! No bath or nail trim, but well worth it. She just wagged her tail at the front door and has not stopped. We are happy campers! But pooped!!
Val, your new foster is so cute! I would not have the energy! Bless you!! I had forgotten also about the GPA's! Glad you explained! Harvard is overpriced, actually and not held in quite the same regard it once was. So many better U. out there for less money and are quite esteemed!! Glad she wants to check out others!

There is a cheese just named queso down here..Not a brand name. Kind of crumbly, like another I forgot the name of..and starts with a "c". the c one was the cheese on it, come to think of it. Cotilla or something! They had all the reg. foods, just more offerings with fresh fish than you would find. I had some really good grouper. So meaty I thought it was chicken at first...

Not as good as Texas Mexican foods however, or Arizona. But better than Al. Mexican....

I am getting up early unfortunately in the morning...so headed to bed! Take care all. So glad to be home!! :)

    Humor is posted

    Hi
I'm back from walking no cents. The temperature this morning was 65 degrees
I had the New Baked Banana and Chocolate Oatmeal for breakfast Monday, I had ordered two and I wish I had only ordered one to try, oh well, I will not be reordering them FWIW.

My brother cut the grass yesterday, that makes the third cutting already. He did the initial cut two weeks ago, last week I did it and then it was his turn again. It does make it a bit less tedious alternating like that. Today is forecast to be in the 80s. It felt humid outside while walking and there was some fog in the air :(

    Hi Val
You seem to get a lot of Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes to foster.

To me Harvard would be too expensive add the Tuition to lodging and foods and Wow.

I hope You felt better after she got home from school.

    Good Luck

    Hi Jan
I am not surprised about the buffets, OTOH it was a vacation, been there done that

IMO many of the so called elite colleges have gone downhill and have been coasting on their reputations. I could also be wrong.

That is pretty funny a cheese with the name cheese in Spanish

I am not a big fan of Mexican foods since I do not like foods with peppers in them or heat. That includes Green or Red Peppers and forget the ones with Hot Peppers.

    Have a Good Day
