And yet more humor is posted in a couple minutes

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 0 cents. The Temperature out the door was 68 degrees. So far this week I have seen a single deer twice and a fox ran across the road ahead of me. It is warmer than yesterday, It was comfortable outdoors while walking with a lower humidity and a nice cooling breeze. We did have rain overnight around Midnight, The streets and sidewalks were starting to dry off when I left the house.

    Good morning!

    Still finding money!! :)

These storms can catch people unaware! Whether larger storms or those quick sprinkles! Glad you have the heads up when walking!!

So sad about the baobab trees. And hard to say what caused it as many plants and animals seem to be dying off almost as a cycle issue too. So complex. I would love to see those trees in person! I have not planted veggies the last few years. If I go away for the summer, I will just lose the garden. Most of my friends live too far too ask them to water. Also, with the mold and ants, birds, and other assorted yuckies- the bugs go for it, it is almost not worth the trouble. I can support the farmers market or roadside stands for less work. I do get that spring urge, but try to rein it in! One summer I lost my tomatoes to huge worms that thrived despite the dust used and picking them off. I got off like 10 huge caterpillar type worms one morning, and by the afternoon, more were back and ate them. Too few for all the work..Not worth the effort at times...It is a challenge where I live! I may try something next year...or not, lol!
    Hi Jan
Those trees lived for so long too.

If You can get good tomatoes from the roadside stands that is OK. The ones from the grocery Store are not that good sadly and my brother raises tomatoes since we have no easy nearby roadside stands.
Unreal to be fined for cutting your trees. Safety is important too. Sometimes common sense is in short supply. And I am not for cutting much, being a tree hugger by birth!! Glad the guy got his money back after being scammed...but how dumb can you be.... :s I hope they find the vandals to the rock- I am glad they will clean it off, but I bet that it will be a fortune to do!

So true about Dr and bedside manners!! You hit that nail on the head!!

Be safe! Be good!! :# ...Jan B)
If I read the article the trees were being cut due to becoming dangerous from storm damage. Unreal is a good way to put it.

I hope they catch those vandals, vandalizing parks seems to be a thing in recent years.

    Have a Good Day

Hi. I don’t know what happened to Oscar’s eye, but last Wednesday I noticed it was red and lumpy and looked bad. Vet thought he’d have to surgically remove it, but tried antibiotic ointment first. Rechecked 4 days later...and it is healing and looking much better.

    Hi Val
I wonder if it was a bug bite or a bug flying into it ?

That is good that the Ointment is working.
I won’t leave until 7/7...I never leave my fur-babies of July 4th or on New Years eve....too many fireworks and gun shots. I also set up extra crates for dogs that come to my door after escaping their yards in fear.

I had not thought of fireworks being a problem, that makes sense OTOH.

You are really nice to set up for other dogs that might be scared by the noise.

    Good morning!

Sounds like everyone is working hard but me! I have been really lazy the last few days. Just relaxing and enjoying it with no running to do. Yay!

So nice to see wildlife as you walk, I am envious Roger!

Sounds like you are knee deep in gardening at the moment!! :) I am lucky to have access to so many homegrown products.

My old DR wrote me a prescription for that weight loss shot just last week. I had told him I did not want to give shots every day. He just ignored that. I did not even bother to go to the Pharmacy with it... $1,000. People are crazy...

Glad your surgery went well, Val, and Oscar is doing better. Somehow I am not surprised by you making that extra effort with your co worker! Good luck!!

Hope everyone is doing better than I am being motivated for weight loss!! :D

Sadly I did read about the surgical instruments :(
The article about the weight loss shot did mention that it might be covered by insurance, I know I would want to have it in writing first.

Here in NJ Mom was on a program called PAAD that was a big help for her.

Annual income for 2018 of less than $27,189 if single or less than $33,334 if married; and ....
These plans will cover medically necessary prescription medications under Medicare Part D. The federal Medicare Plan and/or PAAD will pay any costs above the PAAD copayment of $5 for each covered generic drug or $7 for each covered brand name drug, including premiums.

I wonder if there are any plans available in Your area that You might be eligible for ?

Hi. Still better than getting shingles...but that vaccine made me extremely sick! All day Saturday i was in severe pain (headache, stomach ache, body muscles, and every joint) and nauseous and brain fog. Fitbit said I’d slept 20 hours and walked 500 steps (restroom and water from kitchen). Today I just feel really crappy (which is a huge improvement). The information from the pharmacy made it sound like a regular vaccine but the info on the CDC website was much more accurate stating that many people are unable to perform their daily functions for 2-3 days. Lucky it was on a Friday. I was supposed to work Saturday but sent a text to a colleague who did my job for me. She previously had shingles for 3 weeks and was very empathetic. I get the next one in 2 months.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 10 cents. The Temperature out the door was 77 degrees. I short circuited my walk as the warmth sucked the get up and go out of me. We hit a high around 95 degrees Monday, and a Round of Thunder with a torrential downpour around 8:30PM and I did hear more rain hitting the bedroom AC overnight. Today is forecast to be cooler with lowering humidity.

My brother has been buying Ronzoni 150 Pasta, Same Carbs but lower calorie and tastes good IMO...

He is already looking forward to food choices for the 4th of July meal where we Go meet with friends to eat and later watch the Fireworks.

Today I felt much better than yesterday, not 100% but fully functional. Put in a solid 10-hour day, then took my kid to dinner at Panera, then shopping for a sofa. I truly enjoy that kiddo!
    Hi Val
Good to hear that You are feeling better.

I have seen Panera here and there and have never tried one. I think I had Starbucks once

Just Curious, What sort of material for the Sofa, Something easy to clean and more or less Dog Proof ?

    Have a Nice Day

    good morning!!

So glad you got out and got to spend time with Em, Val! <3 Hope you get to 100% soon!

My appt. with cardio was okay. The NP was really nice, I loved her. Even my Dr remembered me and it had to be about 15 years. Guess I will get good treatment, somehow reserved for poor working employees of times past. It was nice! I hate who does her surgeries though- so I hope I will not have to have any. I am going to be scheduled for a stress test and an echo. Hope that will be all I need!! :|

I do love octopus. My favorite of course being calmari in a light batter! :D

I do not think I have ever seen a skunk in the wild- imagine! At least you were on the right end, Roger!! It was 99 degrees today with the heat index. No rain- a first in about 2 weeks!

Oh, my Dr ran me the Mediterranean diet to try. Another try.... :#

    hang tough!! Jan
    Hi Jan
Finding a Good doctor or NP is tough from what Val says.

I hate to break it to You:( , But Calamari is Squid, You would know Octopus since from what I have see on cooking shows it is generally the Tentacles that are served. A lot of the time from what I see Calamari is served as rings ?

We have had them walking in the front yard in previous years and from the smell wafting into the house It seems that they use our driveway as a path on occasion.

Our heat index in parts of NJ was 100 Degrees yesterday, Today is forecast to be a whopping 5 degrees cooler, Big Whoopee.

I have always wondered about the Mediterranean Diet, is it the diet or the genetics of the region or a combination.
I suppose it could not hurt to try although I thought it was more about reducing heart problems than weight loss ???

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning!

I guess I did not realize calamari was squid. It has the tentacles too so I never realized that! I have had octopus at our Chinese place as well as in Germany where they put it on pizza sometimes, lol. They taste almost the same to me. My bad!

Glad you found a dime! I had no idea your heat was so high either! Worse than ours! Guess our AC will be high, though my bill did reflect some savings this last month. I guess part of the administration's saving plan?

Thankful we have few skunks, especially since May May loves to give chase!

The Diet is named because it offers many foods eaten from the countries surrounding the Med. Sea. Very heavy on fruit and veggies, fish, olive oil. Not much red meat at all. It is heart healthy, but also you will lose the weight if you need to. Not much salt, either, more fresh herbs. It is a good diet. Of course my problem is still portion control! Also pork is really cheap down here. Not much else is, lol! :)

Have a great day!! Watch that heat!! ...Jan B)

I don’t eat any ocean animals. Sofa cannot be fabric...must be wipable...like leather. But I’m too cheap to buy quality leather.

I have posted more humor, Let me know how they go over, Thanks

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The Temperature out the door was 72 degrees. It was sort of comfortable outdoors while walking since there was a breeze.

I may go out to the grocery store while my brother is away later on today too.

Yesterdays weather forecast indicates rain later today and into Early Thursday morning. Hopefully it will be done raining by the time I get ready to go walking.

    Hi Jan
They do indeed have tentacles too

It was not nice out walking yesterday, I was suffering from terminal sweat by the time I arrived home despite the shortened distance.

My brother had a neighbor whose dog never learned not to chase skunks with the expected results from the skunks.

Since I like Pork, the other white meat as well as Turkey and Chicken Breasts having be cheap would be helpful. I will say that Pork is cheaper than Beef around here.

Thank You for the further information on the Mediterranean diet.
    Good Luck with it.
