I cooked my turkey fillets in a frying pan with olive oil and garlic...near the end, i add lemon juice. Greeks use lots of lemon juice. Luckily I didn’t overcook anything...dinner was yummy. My entire body hurts...plus a low-grade fever. I thought the body pain was from the ulcer meds, but that doesn’t explain the fever.1

I’ve had a painful growth on my toe for a couple years. I kept showing it to my MD. Two weeks ago, he froze it. Then it turned black and became volcano shaped with oozy red “lava”. Yesterday went for recheck...he didn’t like the way it looked. So i went to the dermatologist. He said it needed to come off and get biopsied. He said it’s okay to gobon vacation. They’ll call with the biopsy results. He said not to worry but he thinks it’s basal cell carcinoma. My muscles and joints feel much improved today (24-hours off ulcer meds), so I’ll restart at the lower dose.1

I would not be surprised if the Low Grade Fever is related to a medication.

I hope the lower dose does the job, it might pay to check with a doctor and see if some other medicine would work without pain.

Hello!
Well, that was a crazy week. We made it to S.C. in one piece. Actually an easy trip and the weather was good for traveling. We ate out the entire time and we were occasionally healthy.
My daughter was - she is doing the keto diet. She managed to find things and stay on track. A few places were actually easy for her. I did well the first day, then forget it!
VAL *****Vegetarian Alert-- Do not look!! ******
The best place was a buffet BBQ place called Little Piggies. Hole in the wall country place. Obviously not dietetic. I have been dying to go back to eat there for about 15 years. They just have awesome stuff and the best Mustard BBQ I have ever tasted and not found any where else. It is a little sweet- but not harsh at all. I can not duplicate it! I brought back 3 pints of sauce with me! They have tomato based, mustard based, and cider vinegar based BBQ, ribs, pork chops, hash, rice, dirty rice, mashed potatoes and potato salad, hush puppies, baked beans, green beans, collards, sweet potatoes, corn bread, white bread, tomato pie, grits, corn, tomatoes, fried okra, and more...They have fresh crackling pieces , fried chicken, and other stuff.. Homemade banana pudding and chocolate pudding and it is all home made and out of this world...I could die and go to heaven!! LOL!
My step mom is doing about the same. She is a trip and hard to visit, lol...
I also backed into my step mom's neighbor's truck leaving the driveway. Her truck was parked on the street. Put a wonderful big dent in my bumper corner and dented her wheel well trim part that sticks out. I was so embarrassed I could have truly died. She just gave me a hug and told me it happens....Very sweet lady and understanding with an entire arm sleeve of tattoos. I had had 1 hour of sleep the night before, our first nite in. Zoned out with my step mother just yakking....Insurance people were also nice and I will get it fixed next week.
Catching up on you two and articles! I just never got to my computer during the trip...
Take care all! Great weight loss, Val. So sorry about your toe! Hope it gets better!!
Sorry about your weather Roger! We had severe thunderstorms every nite in S.C. except the last day. They did not hit till 8 pm. I love them. It was 99 degrees in Montgomery today, without the humidity factored in. We must have had quite the storm. I have branches down as well as my trash can blown around!
Glad to be home!!! Missed you all! ...Jan1 -
Welcome home Jan! Glad you enjoyed your trip. Those sauces sound yummy. That’s so nice that the neighbor didn’t get angry or weird. Many times in my life I wish there was an un-do button.1

Hi Roger. I’ve had the same doctor for 8 years, since arriving in San Antonio. I really like him, but he does ignore complaints of pain. Or, at least my complaints of pain. This is concerning because potential cancer should have been removed years ago! He also kept telling me that nothing could be done about my hip for a year of immobility and pain. One week until we leave on vacation! I vacuumed out the car, and started loading things we need easy access to. I bought each girl a little hard-backed diary to write about where they go...and they just so happen to fit in each door handle by each seat! I am bringing 4 gallons of water—emergency supply. And-work -a HUGE proposal was released yesterday...do I have one week to finish one month of work! Yuck!!! Plus today, we go to school to get Em signed up for her sophomore classes.1

From what I remember a Keto Diet should be easy to eat out as Long as You do not mind wasting some of the plates of food that do not fit.
Did You ever search the Internet for a recipe, I searched Via Google and Bing using this search line
little piggies mustard BBQ recipe
I found this for example
http://www.bbq-sauce-recipes.com/mustard-bbq-sauces/445/piggie-park-style-mustard-bbq-sauce-recipe/
https://www2.bing.com/search?q="little+piggies"+mustard+BBQ+recipe&qs=n&form=QBLH&sp=-1&pq="little+piggies"+mustard+bbq+recipe&sc=1-35&sk=&cvid=CB4522E3B5F9420FB1F83E84F7C63B26
I stopped in the Grocery Store on the way to CostCo Friday and picked up some discounted refrigerated foods. I picked up what I though was 3 packages of BBQ Wings, Turned out I did not look close enough, I ended up with one BBQ Wings and two BBQ Chicken Tenders and a package of Pork Milanese. I found out my mistake when I heated what I thought were two Chicken Wings and bit in and said where's the Bone They stayed cold in the trunk while I blitzed through CostCo. The Doors were open when I got there and I was inside at 9:50 and paid at the register at 9:59. I put the cold and frozen items in a box in the trunk and they get wrapped in a Small knitted blanket that keeps them cold despite the heat.
I picked up a ten pack of Kleenex, a bag of if Frozen Organic Brussels sprouts, and the usual other two vegetables which is the Normandy Mix and Organic Green Beans from the freezer. The Sprouts were a bit pricey with 4 one pound bags in the larger bag for $8.99. I did not see the price before hand or I might have passed on them
I did manage to pass the food court despite the Chicken Bakes which I do like calling me to buy them.My step mom is doing about the same. She is a trip and hard to visit, lol...
I also backed into my step mom's neighbor's truck leaving the driveway. Her truck was parked on the street. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/sticking-doctor-lead-longer-life/story?id=56239973
Does sticking with the same doctor lead to a longer life?
About 21 percent of Americans do not have a personal doctor, according to the 2016 analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation, with Alaska topping out at 32.2 percent.
However, a new systematic review suggests that when a person sees the same doctor over time that it can lead to a lower chance of an early death.
I would have thought that he would suggest being evaluated for a Hip replacement or to determine the cause
My Brother keeps a case of 24 bottles of 0.5 Liter water behind the drivers seat just in case too.
Dang it if your work does not keep overloading You
Good Luck at the school for Em getting the classes she wants.

Em’s going to be a sophomore. Today we met with the new dean of students. He asked is she would be taking Geometry. She replied that she finished geometry and algebra ii last year; this year she was taking SP Statistics and pre-AP Calculus. He paused, looked back at jis computer and then said, oh, okay. She’s also taking pre-AP Chemistry and AP World History and some other stuff. She went to her first HS party Friday night. One mom took get and the 2 girls yhat are going on our trip and the other mom picked them up and brought her home. I was 100% beyond asleep. When i woke at 5am, i was texting w a friend when it occurred to me that I didn’t actually know if she was home. So I searched Find My Friends and saw that her phone made it home. Not my optimal mom-moment...but its nice to trust my kid and her friends. Poor health day—twice i was in such agony that I almost called 911, plus 2 lesser episodes. Extreme abdominal pain. I don’t know why. Possible gas pain? But it subsided and no gas, so, I don’t know. Feeling improved (not good) now.1

Good morning!
Sounds like your vacation is coming in the nick of time Val. I hope you will not be too worked to death before hand to enjoy it! What a great idea to pick up the journals! Sounds like you can be very proud of Em!!
When my kids went out as teenagers, I read about a great trick, as I would fall asleep too! I set my alarm for their curfew, and when they got home, they would quietly turn it off. Obviously if it went off, they were not home. Luckily I never had that happen, nor did they forget about the alarm, lol...
I am so sorry you are in such pain. That does not seem right or a good thing..But congratulations on doing well with your lbs. lost! Great accomplishment!
Roger, I am forever picking up things I thought I didn't, lol. I am notorious for picking the thing next to it, in an attempt to not pick up the thing I was trying to avoid! Sounded like good food anyway! Yay on passing the food court!!
I am going to check out those sauces. I did years ago, but not lately. Maybe they are close!!
Take care all!! No place like home...Jan1 -
PS_ Maurices, the first BBQ sauce is my 2nd favorite place, but their ketchup base is better, IMO.
However, the next one may be close. I coulds taste mustard, honey and brown sugar definitely. Not so much the other ingredients, but it gives me a good starting place for proportions. And I can try it before I run out of the sauce from SC and forget what it tastes like!! ...Thanks!1 -

Editorial: New law no bargain
Rocky seas are ahead for businesses in Massachusetts.
Yesterday, Gov. Charlie Baker signed the “grand bargain” bill into law. It increases the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2023, requires paid leave for workers starting in 2021 and establishes an annual sales tax holiday each August.
Last year, the state Legislature voted themselves a handsome pay raise. This week the mayor of Boston as well as the City Council did the same. Taxpayers are made to hand over their hard-earned dollars to improve the standard of living for their elected representatives again and again.
When do they get some relief? One weekend in the summer?

5 WWII airmen who died during mission in Germany buried together at Arlington
In the raid, 38 bombers were lost and 481 were damaged, according to an April 2007 Air Force Magazine article. The USAAF estimated that as many as 500 Luftwaffe fighters attacked and almost 400 men did not return. Many were missing in action after bailing out of their aircraft.
The Nov. 2nd mission was the deadliest, the article explained, but not the last of the missions to Leuna. Crews risked a half-dozen more missions over an array of at least 1,700 flak guns.

Good morning!
Yesterday church came a little early for this tired traveler! I did make it and also went to small group later in the day. But boy am I tired. Today I pick up my plants and see about the car. I am looking forward to resting the 4th of July. I need it after the vacation, lol!
Big surprise this morning. I got a phone call from Birmingham saying I was summoned and will be served papers. Two officers will be visiting me. I tried to back trace the call. No luck. The lady who answered the phone when I called back sounded official, and wanted my phone no. When I questioned "my phone ?" I was disconnected. I finally called the police dept who said it was a scam and ignore it. What a morning..Hope she is right!
I am finding life a little scary at times! Good articles! I am still catching up! I did catch up on humor! Thank you!!
Sorry about the humidity. It is like being hit with a wet noodle! We are expecting 50% showers all week including the 4th. It is very cloudy today!
Hang in there all! Hoping you do not get hacked or scammed!! ...Jan

I always came home from a vacation more tired than when I left too.
The call is total scam. Big clue is that they never call to warn You the someone is coming to serve You paper. The Phone number on caller ID was 100% a spoofed phone number. The Police department is correct total scam, The next thing would have been telling You that You need to pay and if You agreed they would want payment via a prepaid debit card, Another red flag.
I was dragged down by the heat and humidity this morning and it was the worst morning that way since the heat wave started.
Have a Good Day

Hi Again
FWIW
https://consumerrecoverynetwork.com/question/debt-collection-scams-fakes/
What to do when fake debt collection scammers call.
I got a phone call message which said someone would be by my home and place of employment to give me a summons. That kinda startled me. Then later I called the number back and spoke with someone. They said I had this old debt, I told them that I never had such a card. They then told me that I should be getting served a summons and would need to fill out my court documents. But, if that happen yet I could settle over the phone for .50 on the dollar.
They didn't know who was supposed to serve me (sheriff) and didn't even know where I lived. They just rattled off addresses.
They kept threatening that the court date would be set as soon as the guy showed up at my house.
https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1161324
I deal with things like this as follows:
- Look at the caller ID
- Do I recognize it? If yes, answer the phone. If no, don't; if it's not a scam then they'll leave a message.
The second you answer these *kitten* calls you elevate your number to their, "People who will answer the phone", list and they'll just keep hassling you even more. Just ignore them and you'll never have to worry about it, the same way you never have to worry about spam because you don't reply to it, because it's spam and you know that replying to it only makes everything worse.
Right?
- If you never answer a call from a number you don't recognize, if its a scam call they will eventually give up
- If you answer a call from a number you don't recognize and it's a scammer, they will hound you and hound you far, far more and no conversation you can have with them on the phone will stop them from calling
You are the fish and they're the fishermen. If you don't want to get reeled in, don't ever try to nibble on the bait. It's that simple.
Just stop talking to these guys. Now. Done.2 -
Good morning!
Very interesting reads you posted! I am very interested in the New York article. I have read maybe 3/4's of it so far.I remember that happening to Cleveland where my grandparents lived. So sad!! Of course the rents were no where like NYC's. But the charm of the old neighborhoods disappeared. They are replaced by soulless things, or left vacant and crumbling. I did not think that would happen in NY though. Real Estate greed. In many ways my parents were "richer" in mid life than I am, or my children. Pay does not correspond with the prices of things nowadays, so owners and real estate people can be rich and richer. So true also about the contributions of the rich longer ago than now. Not so much of that gratitude and philanthropy as their used to be,with a few exceptions.
You can not win when it is humid. Though it is cooler in the mornings, the dew points are also higher, so the humidity feels even worse. I do not go out much except in the earlier am, as it is miserable in the afternoon, and in the evening the mosquitoes will carry you away, lol...
I go today to get an estimate on my car boo-boo. I also got up rather early to go to our little group that meets from church. I was hard to getup at 6 am! I had no trouble going to sleep earlier for me at 11 pm the night before!
I did enjoy shopping at 8:30 in the morning for my 4th stuff and general stuff- with NO crowds! Yay!! I am having a simple plate of ribs and potato salad. And staying home and not even answering the phone!
I normally do not answer phone calls I do not know. This was Birmingham area, and I was not sure where the central State Farm was, so I thought it might possibly have to do with my
fender bender. I will not make that mistake for a while! I have a caller now from New Jersey every single day, that I have never answered. I have received a phone call or two a day for the last 3 or more weeks. I am determined not to answer- but it does drive me crazy...
I hope you all have a great 4th of July! I hope you all enjoy some rest while thankful about all the things so great yet in this country of ours! ...Jan1 -

I wimped out and made a Grocery Store Run Tuesday. I picked up a Chef Salad that will be the last meal of the dat today. I also have two Fried Chicken Breasts, same source in the refrigerator for my Holiday meal. Yesterday I tried two of the Macaroni & Cheese Breaded deep fried wedges, what they called Cheese-steak sliders. The so called sliders looked like a Corn Dog minus the stick. They were both OK.

I thought it was interesting and sad too. The NYC Loser of a Mayor Wants to turn Playgrounds and parks into building from what I have seen on the news broadcasts in the past. I get scam calls on the Phone numbers that have two different area codes. The scammers use the Area code and exchange that match the phones to entice an answer. I suspect they are hoping I will think it is a neighbor.
I suspect You would not do what I do when the first scam call comes in. I turn off the phone
I also reach into my pocket and hit the volume button which silences the ringing and then I look to see if I want to answer it.
Have a Good Holiday
