    Good morning!

Went to do my labs, grab motrin, and am blessedly home. Home...which needs some cleaning! :# I am slowly getting ready for Thanksgiving at my son's house. Just providing rolls, a veggie, and a drink, virgin or otherwise, lol! I think for the bread I am going to take The Roadhouse's roll spread too. Which is butter, cinnamon and some sugar, and which I need to make sure that is all that is in the recipe. :)

Val, I think that your company should send YOU on an extended vacation with pay, lol!

Well, I do not think it got to freezing last night. Probably a good thing. It was chilly though!

The story about the veteran was awful. What crass people... The airline story was weird too. They should have given everyone free drinks!... :#

Thanksgiving and Christmas shopper seem to be out in full force. Seems like a lot of rude people this year.

Everyone stay well and slow down to breathe in the pumpkin cinnamon smells!! Take care!! ..Jan

I did post more humor, Enjoy

    Hi
I was out walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 30 on the porch and 37 on the cable channel.

I was out at CostCo to pick up some paper goods and Frozen Vegetables yesterday :) I ended up with a case of Charmin, I am sure that the 36 rolls in the case will last a while :)
Yesterday evening around 7PM I got the call, Nutrisystem called saying that my frozen order had shipped and should be delivered in the next 3 days. As I thought a quick look at email this morning shows it is out for delivery on the truck. Supposedly the Non frozen portion is shipped also on Monday, OTOH the tracking number for that shows nothing beyond that the shipping label was created and I have doubts that the anticipated delivery date for it of today will happen. Not a problem as I have some left. I already cleared the freezer earlier this past weekend so I'm good to go that way. It will be handy knowing what freezer space I have left so I can put other frozen items that we are baking ahead and the leftover Thanksgiving that I anticipate into it too.

This was a little weird IMO

    Hi Jan
I expect that on Black Friday we will see news on the TV showing crowds rushing the stores when they unlock the doors and possibly something about parking lot space rage, that seems to be the norm on that day. Which is a good enough reason to stay home IMO.

Crass people, That is a good way to put it. I have to wonder why they could not pull the fuse or turn off the breaker for the PA system during that flight.

So when You say bread You Mean a Cinnamon Roll Bread, It does sound tasty, if high in calories :)
Is this the recipe You are mentioning ?

    or this one ?

if so I found this info on that link

    Polyunsaturated Fat1 g

    Monounsaturated Fat4 g

That would be delicious on a bread and even better on a warm bread :)

Christmas shopping seems to bring out the worst in people and add in Black Friday limited deals as well as parking problems and Blammo.

    I noticed this too :)

It stopped by the time I arrived home.

    Good morning!

I was planning to use the butter to spread on some good rolls in the bakery, warmed. I never thought to make the rolls. I will be running a good bit of the day as I need all my meds refilled before the Thanksgiving break. :#

I would not take part in any Black Friday sale ever- I stay home!!

The priest story is kind of dumb. I feel sorry if he has been brought that low in his thinking. It is up to the parents to make a distinction on the true meaning of Christmas. I get where he is coming from though. And it must be particularly hard in Ireland with generational strife and the fallen of the old ways. He has kind of lost sight of God's plan as he separates people from final judgement. (It will come, because no way will God permit animal abusers to go unpunished, lol...)

I have to catch up on the rest, as I have been, running and continue to run... :#

Humor has been awesome by the way!! Happy Thanksgiving to all..... <3 ..............Jan

    Hi
    UHbpf2.jpg

I was out walking again this Morning + 1 cent. The temperature this morning was 28 on the porch and 33 on the cable channel. This mornings weather forecast said that the wind chill would be in the teens, I looked out before leaving and no wind and none came up while I was walking :)
It is a clear Blue Sky with a forecast in the 40s for This Thanksgiving.

When I went to get ready to walk this morning at 6AM we had just put the Turkey in the Oven after stuffing it with the Dressing made last night. It would not fit in the usual Roaster being to plump :) Luckily we also had this one that did work.
    https://www.amazon.com/Denmark®-Nonstick-Anodized-Turkey-Roaster/dp/B017WPGMHK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
    0JpG06.jpg
The Rack in this one is great for lifting the turkey out too, and it keeps the bird off of the bottom.
The Potatoes have been prepped and are sitting in a pan to be cooked later

I walked past the the local Grocery Store, Bagel Shop and a Dunkin Donuts as I was curious, All were open, not great for the workers :(

My Non Frozen NS order arrived Yesterday. No Shortages in either frozen or non frozen.

    This was Interesting to me

    Hi Jan
That Butter spread on rolls should be awesome too.

The only time I will be out of the house on Black Friday normally is when I go walking, however having said that I told my brother I would do this run for him. I need to go to the ShopRite Grocery Store, They have whole Pork Loins for $0.99 a pound. With a limit of one and a size of 7 to 9 pounds for Friday and Saturday only. Meats don't get much cheaper IMO. It can sit for a couple of days and then be broken down into a Roast that will be cooked and Boneless Pork Chops and the Small end saved to be ground into Sausage. You d need their Key Tag for that Price otherwise it is on sale for $1.99 a pound.

A large shopping mall, I don't go to them anyway and on black Friday I know the news Friday night will be full of arguments over parking spots and crowds rushing the stores when they unlock the doors possibly today for the ones that are open on Thanksgiving day :(

As for that Priest he should have told them to use the Phrase, Word ?
Christ Mass Day emphasizing the space between Christ and Mass.

Ireland where two christian communities are at war, that seems so strange that both sides ignore the commandment about killing :(

    Enjoy the Holiday

    Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. My son got a DEAL on a turkey! For a pittance (like 30 cents a lb.) he got a 40 lb. turkey. I was in shock...lol. I had never cooked larger than a 28 lb. one. He said never again, it was hard on the back and getting in a cooking bag! Only my son!! :D

We ate, became comatose, and played the game of "life". My son slept thru most of the game, and we played for him...He would wake a few times to new children, less money, changes in careers, ect. We actually did play him fair, so it was pretty funny! Bless his heart for staying up late and getting up early to cook... :#

My doggies are Thankful for turkey! <3

Other than making a trip to the post office, I plan to stay home on Friday and Sat!

Hope everyone gets some rest and has a great week-end! ..Jan

    Hi Jan
I can't even imagine how huge a 40 pound Turkey must be. How large a Oven does Your son have? The 23+ pound Turkey we had was a problem handling as it would not fit the Roasting pan we usually use hence the other pan. OTOH the Other pan made it easy to get the turkey out of the pan as it starts high on the curved bottom of that rack and You can slide it sideways onto the platter :) That is a really good price for any kind of meat FWIW.

I am thinking of vacuum sealing most of the turkey either today or tomorrow. Today back on the NS plan using the Turkey as the Extra protein portion of it. There are lots of Mashed Potatoes left over and we will likely Vacuum seal some of them to use along with some of the Turkey and Some of the Ham we will have for Christmas for the New Years Day meal. I am thinking I want a NS Pizza for dinner today.

I am guessing that You brought home some of the Leftovers, Especially Turkey ?
A Friend was going to have a 28 pound Turkey and likely no leftovers with 28 Family members for his Turkey Day meal. I can not even think how much cooking of other foods must have been involved.

Rest?, I was out walking and am at 9,470 steps so far and that is before I go to the grocery store to pick up the 99 cent a pound Pork Loin.

It has been quite a while since I played the game of Life :) I always did sort of prefer Clue.

    Have a Nice Day

    Hi Val
I was not even thinking of looking for anything online and would prefer not having to do the Grocery Store Run today except that I told my brother I would do it since he does most of my grocery shopping.

He worked his way through all the episodes of Columbo a few years ago. I was surprised how many there were too. I suspect This Marathon of Yours will run for more than one day

Have a Nice Day, he says as he gets ready to beat the crowd at the Grocery Stores Strip mall, Hopefully.

More Humor once again including some left over Thanksgiving humor to match the leftovers from Thanksgiving

    Hi
I was out walking again this Morning. The temperature this morning was 28 on the porch and 36 on the cable channel. It was a bit chilly while walking, I was glad to have the Heated Gloves :)

Sadly my brother brought some temptations into the house yesterday after visiting some friends where they work retail in a small location. Or to put it another way they filled a large ZipLock Bag with an assortment of left over from Halloween Candy bars :(:)

The Turkey Carcass is now in the garbage and the Meat is wrapped in foil to be broken down further later on and Vacuum sealed into portions. The 8+ pound Whole Pork loin that was on sale yesterday and today is scheduled to be broken into Chops, a Roast and some earmarked to be used as Breakfast Sausage Patties. My Brother is trying to decide if it is worth going for a second one on his Key Tag as it is one per tag and I used my key tag yesterday, It does require a $10 minimum purchase to get the 99 cent a pound price but well worth it in my not so humble opinion :)

    Hello Val
I am out the door before Sunrise :) , That does get me ahead of a lot of the traffic where I need to cross and the traffic noise.

And that meant I was on the state highway Route 22 yesterday on my way to pick up the Pork Loin that is on sale til tonight, by 9AM with my walking done I was out the door, I did not have to go that far and I was thankful as the road had a fair amount of really bad drivers on it. Not to mention that the State and Local Police were out with radar all over.

    Hello Jan
Just Curious as to how that humongous Turkey was cooked, Did he have a Roaster & Oven large enough?

Jan & Val, Have a Really Nice Weekend

Happy Saturday. After about a year with no working dishwasher, I ordered one (Black Friday 30% off). Installation will be mid-December. I have all the Columbo DVDs, tv shows and the ‘80s/90s movies too. Definitely a few days worth. Jan- I’m curious about that 40-pounder too.
