    Hi
I went out walking once again this Morning + 30 cents. The temperature this morning was 29 on the porch and 35 on the cable channel. On my arrival home I have checked the gauge in the backyard and it showing 38 degrees.
The Weather forecast this morning shows that we should have some snow arriving tomorrow with 1 inch of the white crud falling in my area.

In the brief time I had the TV on this morning before leaving They showed a clip of Snow falling on the Alamo :)

    Good morning!

So far, it's a weird morning. People must be getting ready for the "blizzard" tomorrow. Decrease in traffic, and I think you could hear a pin drop outside! Everyone must be stockpiling up on gas and groceries. :D It is incredibly eerie...

I also poured my second cup of coffee and as I was taking my sip, noticed a fly in it. Freaked me out!! Never saw him , never buzzed, just there. Ever be dieing for coffee and freaked to drink a new cup at the same time?

I am going to a pizza restaurant tonite with my group. I am trying to think small... :#
    Hi Jan
That seems strange, Usually the only time it gets silent like that by day is during the actual snow fall and shortly thereafter.

Dying for coffee, I can understand that, I only come fully alive after I stop for my morning coffee on my walk and start drinking it. I was at a McDonalds when a Fly flew into the Maintenance Mans mouth as he was taking a bite of food. He was way past not happy :)

I had a whopping 1/2 slice of Sausage Pizza off of the two slices my brother brought home yesterday, It has been a couple of years since I had any Pizza beyond the 5 different ones offered by NS, It was delicious BTW.
Luckily I do like the NS pizzas, the frozen ones have a nice thin crispy crust, and microwave on a platter that comes with them that helps crisp them up.

Regarding the Toast A Bags, I have them and have not tried them, I should have looked at the Toaster slot first :( It is too narrow for two slices of Bread and Cheese. I can use them for Chicken Nuggets and some French Fries OTOH so not a complete loss. To use then for a grilled cheese which was my goal, I would need to pull my Toaster oven out and use it's toaster section. This one: Hamilton Beach Toastation 2-Slice Toaster and Countertop Oven, Black (22708)
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A1FFZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Think of it this was, Tomato Sauce, Vegetable, Cheese and most other toppings = Protein (NS Powerfuel) and the Hopefully Thin Crust as a Starch (NS Smartcarb). And enjoy it in moderation. You have been doing good.
I have the same gardening bench as your brother. If I got on the ground it would have to be by falling, lol. And I would never get up. I would be the upside down turtle!!

Trying out the mantra that junk mail is my friend!! (since it defrays costs..). I recycle too!

Sad post about California schools and kids not reading. Same here! But they dump money in upper admin and people who "fix" the problems. We may be doing drills again soon.... N. Korea :|

Ha, Ha! Driving here is funny in the snowy or icy weather. I now stay home, yay!! But I used to have to drive in early or late for work, depending. There were 13 bridges between my home and work. I drove and made it several times just praying the whole way. I was less nervous if it was just me, and no traffic. Actually many stay off the streets and everything closes for a snowflake, which is helpful. There are few plows. There used to be none. They do sand now, and actually salt some spots. There are people going 70 miles an hour,( thank goodness, few). Most things just shut down. We scare easy, because forecasting here is hard. After the last few times where people got stuck for hours freezing with no rescue, people and officials are cautious. Happened in Atlanta and between Montgomery and Birmingham. I always prefer they err on the side of caution.

Having hungry days! I must need more protein...Thanks for acknowledging my feeble efforts!! :D Jan

In the past prior to NS and weight loss, I had a Heck of a time getting up even with something to grab for help.

Junk Mail, Phone, USPS and email, Yuck :(

I was not totally surprised by California TBH, They seem to have the mindset that meaning to do it is as good as doing it out there.

I remember doing the Nuclear attack drills, I hope You are wrong.

The best thing about snow these days is being able to look out at it and know I do not have to drive in or on it. I always preferred to drive on snowy roads before the idiots turned them to ice as they spun the wheels. I only got stuck once in the 70s and I got myself unstuck since I carry a shovel in the trunk, I still do, just in case.
There is always a mix on the roads here in NJ when it rains or snows of people crawling and people flying down the road, not a good mix.

    Congratulations.

    Good morning!

Got busy and missed a day! We have about 4.5 inches of snow after all is said and done. Pretty from the inside watching, lol! Chester goes out with a "what the hell?" attitude and demeanor. Nonplussed. May thinks it is the coolest thing since slice bread. She ran around the yard in circles at top speed like a greyhound. I would see just flashes and streaks from the windows as she passed. She was pretty funny.

The boom story is interesting! Makes you wonder...

I saw a meteor come in like that one nite when I worked an evening shift and was coming home. It was slightly smaller than the one on the video, though not by much. It was pretty awesome.

My pizza had given me a 2 lb. gain, I would guess sodium intake, esp. from the olives. It had green and black olives that were rather briny, but good! Weight is gone this morning, yay! I am having trouble getting my water in. Being cold, I am just not wanting to drink it. I guess I can make it hot and pretend it is weak tea. I am supposed to be drinking 10 cups a day, and am averaging only 6 or 7. :#

Take care! Stay warm!! Off to humor! Thanks so much for posting it!! ...Jan

I did post some humor again

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning + 1 Cent and the footing was snow over a crunchy surface. The temperature this morning was 28 on the porch and 29 on the cable channel. The Weather forecast for yesterday regarding snow arriving came true. From what I could see the depth is around 3 inches. The crunch underfoot as I was walking made me think that it was colder out there than shown on the Thermometer and TV showed this morning before I headed out. There were a few icy spots that I had to be careful walking and there was a mild breeze. I also took along cutters and cleared out some Big weed branches that were blocking the sidewalk, You may be wondering why I did not do it earlier ? The cutters resurfaced yesterday from where they had fallen under the ladder stored in the laundry room :)
The forecast high is in the 40s for today.

    Hi Jan
You seem to have had more Snow than I had much further north :) OTOH as long as You and I can stay inside and not have to drive on it we can just look out and say "How Pretty".

What a interesting difference in Your dogs attitude to the snow. I do feel bad for little dogs that need to go out in deep snow.

I had a feeling it might be something like that causing the booms.

I do not recall ever seeing anything like that meteorite burning up, Lucky You.

I suspect You are correct that it was the Olives, OTOH if You had certain other toppings besides the Olives...

if You remember NS asks for 8 glasses a day, I have decided not to worry about it, I am sure I can tell if I am Thirsty or not :)

Yesterday my Brother made a soup using some type of fresh Greens from the Produce store sauteed with onions, Left over Thanksgiving Turkey from the freezer and Lower Sodium Chicken broth. After looking at the Box for the broth 4 Calories for the entire box I decided to have a Pint of it, Really tasty.

I have also seen him use it as a Broth warmed up from the Box with nothing added.

I have canned Collard Greens, 60 calories per can that were gifted to us by a friend that I can use as a vegetable with a meal and instead of my normal Protein add to the meal I dice a couple strips of Precooked bacon into ti for flavor.
She also passed on unused Turnip Greens that I have not tried, I suspect they would be better with a little bacon too. Or if I use either of them with the Christmas ham leftovers that should be good too.
We plan to look at the ShopRite Circular and see if the Hams are still 89 and 99 cents a pound next week to decide when to buy. We have been using Low Sodium Hams and they taste just as good to us.

Congratulations on the lack of permanent weight gain from it. Also for this

    Good morning,

It was 48 degrees today and still I have snow!! Seems it will never go away! :D

Went to church and then saw a Charlie Brown Christmas play at a little theatre. It was cute in a way little amature theaters can be. The dogs were less than happy with me. Afternoons are our sleep times on Sunday afternoons. I sure destroyed our normal routine! :o

The soup sounded really good! Especially the way our weather is lately!

My doc wants me to drink 10 - 12 glasses of water every day....

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning + 1 Quarter and the streets and sidewalks were dry except where the snow had been packed down. The temperature this morning was 35 on the porch and 34 on the cable channel. From what I could see the depth is of snow was around 3 inches, OTOH based on the snowfall totals We must have had over 4 inches. Much of that melted on the sidewalks and streets as it landed.

    Hi Jan
I say this Tongue in Cheek, The Hum is obviously the Motor that spins the earth :)

If You have 48 degrees and sun that pesty white stuff will vanish fairly quick.

The Escarole Soup my brother made was tasty and fairly quick to get simmering as the Turkey was cooked for Thanksgiving and he sauteed the Chopped onions and Escarole in a cast iron skillet using a little Olive oil and then everything into the Pot to simmer.

That Charlie Brown Christmas Play, Was it anything resembling the TV special they run every year ?

If the doctor say 10 to 12 glasses a day, then that is it. You do not have to answer this, Are You also on water pills?

I also noticed You are doing great since I saw this. I resisted temptation yesterday and stayed on plan with the NS plan. My reward was a near 1/4 pound loss since yesterday at the same time.

    Hi Val
    12 hour days, Yuck !

I'm sure You can get rid of the weight, sadly I am working on getting rid of what I put on in the lead up to Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving feast. Hopefully by Christmas and New Years Day. Christmas feast will be Ham oriented and I know my Brother will be baking temptations and then Turkey and Ham for New Years. Most of the leftover Ham will vacuum sealed to join the leftover Turkey in the Freezer. We actually have Premade bags for the Foodsaver that can swallow an entire Pie :)

I'm sorry to hear that You are dealing with what sounds like backstabbers at work.

Good Luck dealing with that at work

    Hi Jan
I had suspicion about the water pills, Do they make You thirst ?

I feel for Val, No-one deserves that much stress.

Thanks, I just wish I had resisted better in the period leading up to Thanksgiving and for Thanksgiving :(

My brother buys Shortbread Cookies from down under that are delicious and melt in Your mouth, Hopefully not this year.

I had the bird feeder soaking to clean it and we finally have bird food to put out, I got that out Sunday, so far they do not seem to have found it. I also scattered some by the street on the sidewalk and driveway for the Ground feeders. I have not seen many birds around lately, I hope nothing has happened to them.

Thank You for that feedback on the news item, I believe the ground is stable or they most likely not have built the Metro. I have ridden on it back when I went to the World's Fair there.

I see a older gentleman scattering bird food on his yard when I am walking if I go by at the right time.

    They got it wrong :)

    Morning ya'll ! :)

It must be Christmas if you found 10 cents!! :)

Was the bread house above for the birds, lol!! ??? :D

That's kind of funny about the water pills making you thirsty. I do not know. But I have been taking them for about 30+ years...

I hate to admit it, I like the empty fan seats in the stadium. I think these people (players) need to protest another way. It also does not kill me in the least all these overpaid owners may be sweating. No sympathy!! :D

I also am taking off pounds it took more than a year to take off, and put on about 7 or 8 times again. But I guess I will plug on anyhow... Sympathy feelings!!

I actually do not have a taste for turkey for Christmas. Maybe ham.. or something special....hmmm...

I have worked in cookies and eggnog so far..I have yet to work in fruitcake, pie, moose crunch, cheese popcorn and cheese logs, and pepper jelly and cream cheese. Ha Ha!!!! :*

Going to see The Russian Ballet performing the nutcracker on Weds.nite. Hopefully eat out too. A grand nite, if I can walk. I walked a lot today...out in the woods regifting some old Indian pottery from the 1700's to the land it belonged to.

I feel a ham and mac and cheese and greens and cornbread Christmas coming... I have been in the South too long, lol!!

Take care all! Sorry for talking about food!! >:) ...Jan

Thanks for the kind shoulders the lean on. Between aggressive meds, sinus flushing, and steamy showers...my sinus gunk is finally starting to come out. Such a process! Jan—hope you have a lovely time at the ballet! Roger-hope more money finds you!

    Even more humor posted, enjoy

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning + No Cents. The temperature this morning was 24 on the porch and 25 on the cable channel. The wind chill temperature was a little above Zero with the moderate and gusty breeze. I could feel it on the face where it was not covered by the Hoodie and whenever I needed to take the heated Mittens off.

    Hi Jan
They sure got it wrong with that Gingerbread house :)
I hate to admit it, I like the empty fan seats in the stadium. I think these people (players) need to protest another way. It also does not kill me in the least all these overpaid owners may be sweating. No sympathy!! :D
I have no problem with peaceful protests, Protest all You want as long as you do not show disrespect like those Censored players are doing. I feel a little sympathy for the owners who are having a problem with that, I hate to see anyone have problems that are not under their control. I would like to see the players fined every time they do that. IMO the networks and news media are going along with it to a extent, If it did not get any coverage of it happening and was just ignored the players would not bother do it IMO.

I like Turkey and use the leftovers as the protein that my NS plan calls for. It also makes great sandwiches. I froze the Breast meat in 6 ounce packages as multiple servings per package. I will do the same with the leftover Ham later this year :)

I love a Good Ham, Good Mac & Cheese, Cornbread, and Properly done Collards. I never developed a taste for Eggnog OTOH. FWIW We have been buying low sodium hams and TBH they taste the same to both of us.
I have no idea what Moose Crunch is ?

I tend to prefer Caramel Popcorn with Nuts vs Cheese Popcorn. When I say Caramel Corn I have this in my mind.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poppycock
Poppycock is a brand of candied popcorn. Though it is marketed in a variety of combinations, the original mixture consists of clusters of popcorn, almonds, and pecans covered in a candy glaze. Other specialty combinations include mixtures with emphasis on cashews, chocolate, and pecans.

I sort of avoided going overboard yesterday, My Brother was out in Pennsylvania at Dietrichs shopping and brought home a small 4 to 5 inch Black Walnut Pie. I had 1/4 of it in the afternoon and the scale was kind to me this morning with a loss. Think Pecan Pie only with Black Walnuts in appearance and filled with the nuts. $4 to $5 it cost him, he said he was waffling buy or not buy until he was paying for all the meats he picked up and then added it in for me.
