Thanks for the kind shoulders the lean on. Between aggressive meds, sinus flushing, and steamy showers...my sinus gunk is finally starting to come out. Such a process! Jan—hope you have a lovely time at the ballet! Roger-hope more money finds you!

    Hi Val
The only thing I found today was a bitter wind chill :( OTOH since I was not sleeping I ended up out the door early and 90% of my walking was in the dark so I could have passed right on by money :)

Hopefully the Process is giving You some relief to compensate. That is something I normally do not hear "aggressive meds"

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning!

Meteor showers tonite! Not as cold to watch as it would be up north! Good job getting out and being bundled Roger! That sounds a little brutal to me as I am having problems with the 28 degree readings here. :D

It is so funny you have all this access to close states when you are going somewhere! The pies sound wonderful, I must say. The moose munch is popcorn, nuts, drizzled by a good chocolate, much like the poppycock. It is addictive!

I so agree about the media and the football issue! Media makes everything a circus nowadays!

Love the fossil story! That is pretty cool!

Need to do some shopping myself. Time is sure running fast this Dec. :#

Glad you are getting some relief, Val. :)

And I have posted more humor with a Patriotic Santa to lead off

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning in a light snowfall, It snowed overnight and so far there is over an inch of the white crud :( The temperature this morning was 25 on the porch and 24 on the cable channel. The wind chill from yesterday is now history :)

Today I did not go as far as usual due to the snow which was somewhat slippery underfoot except when I could walk in the road. Then I had to climb out of the road when traffic came at me. I can hear noises that tell me the snow is packing underfoot when I walk on it and thus I got 3/4 of my normal distance.

Whoo Hoo, AKA Whee, I'm in the money. The other day I had a Phone call that My money woes are over as I have been pre approved for a Payday loan and the next day I had a different phone call telling me that I was Pre Approved for a Loan. Naturally I was less than eager to bite on those scam calls.

    Hi Jan
I did not get out to look for Meteors, I must have missed that announcement :(

Pennsylvania is less than a hour away as is New York depending on traffic. Staten Island is actually pretty close, a ten minute drive to the Interstate and Voila there You are in the least populated Boro of New York City.
Being close to Pennsylvania is why I generally get my NS deliveries overnight.

I wonder why it is called Moose Crunch ? I do like Chocolate, I do not recall ever having had Chocolate Covered Popcorn, Chocolate Covered Nuts of course, Delicious too.

The Media tends to ignore things they do not like and overdo things that fit their agenda :(
That is one reason My Brother gets most of it from the Internet. Then he forwards the links of interest to me so I do not have to duplicate his searching.

I liked the Fossil story too, That is the reason I use the links I use from the 20 to 40 a day he sends me.

I plan to look out at the snow for the rest of the day except for when I finish clearing the snow from the sidewalks and driveway.

This is my retired schedule if it helps You pass time.
    eU7iph.jpg
So far I have resisted any urge to work :) Things would have to get a lot worse financially for me to go back to work.

I saw this, Consistency counts :)

    Good morning!!

Val, soup yum!!! I have been making and eating a little soup the last few weeks since turning cold. It is heavenly , isn't it! o:)
You have made me want more!!
Did you test negative for an ulcer?? I get the falling apart. This is my year. When I sit I feel like 30. As soon as I try to do anything, I feel 100 on the verge of dementia. I am shocked at my own body...

Love the sign, Roger. My days of retirement just seem more confusing lately where I am moving but not accomplishing! I am so thankful I am home. I have Dorthy syndrome! "There's no place like home, there's no place like home!!" :*

I do not envy your snow, Roger! I was so ready for cold and winter, but I am not wishing it this cold for such long periods. And I know we need it! We need to clear out some bugs and "skeeters" and such. But it's... cold....lol! Great job getting out and walking! :)

I need to get out and shop a little. I will be glad to get home, now if I just remember my extensive list!! :D

The ballet was one of the best I have ever seen. We were a rather quiet crowd, though we did get better at clapping for some brilliant moves as the program went on. The scenery was absolutely great, esp. the Russian Nestling dolls they used on set. They deserved far more applause they they got, and deserved a standing ovation far sooner than they received. I do follow the crowd at times, and finally was appalled we were not giving them their due. ( mind you, I am sitting there thinking this... which is wrong on a few levels. ) Finally could not stand it and was the first standing, for a bit I might add, until people finally got up and gave them a great applause. We were a sorry and tired crowd. They might not come back to Montgomery. So many times Birmingham gets the shows because we are uncultured clods, and low and behold, I am becoming just like them..... Can you tell Alabama is not one of my most favorite places to live compared to other places I have been....I do wish I could relocate sometimes... I am probably not brave enough, and I really can not afford to, as if I sell the house, I would be giving my ex half the money. It seemed fair at the time, and we both willingly split things down the middle. I could not imagine leaving a place that had memories of the kids, but they rarely want to come now anyway, and did not relish ever leaving some of the things in my yard, that came from my Dad and friends. Enough time has passed as I could now, but could not find a smaller place for only half of what the house is worth. Some things you make the best decision you can at the time, but you never know how things would change. And I remain grateful I have a place! But it is like living with one foot in a reluctant past. Got to love Alabama, she says ever so wistfully, lol! :#

Sweet home? Not if you are over 50, a minority, gay or transgender and you are concerned about discrimination. Alabama is one of only five states with no statewide legal protections for those groups, making it one of America's least inclusive states. It is also one of America's least healthy states, with the nation's third-highest rate of premature deaths. On a positive note, the skies are blue and the governor's true.

I'm back from walking this Morning after a light approximated 1 inch snowfall, The temperature this morning was 15 on the porch and 20 on the cable channel. The Snow did not cause slippery spots except for one place :)

I hope the two snowfalls in the the last three days are not a sign of what the upcoming winter holds in store. On the good side There is no snow in the upcoming week and warmer weather by midweek.

I was out visiting friends with my brother yesterday and when he stopped at the Coin Shop a Old Coin described as "Ancient Rome" caught my eye, I paid $15 for it. There is a plentiful supply currently which keeps prices reasonable IMO. I bought this as I like Oddities :)

    Hi Jan

Icebox is a good way to put it too.
At least I was able to get out ahead of the wind that is in the forecast for today and that helped.

Some pharmacies seem to do a better job of staying on top of things than others. I found the big chains to be the worst which is why I use a local pharmacy.

They did replace it with digital, which according to the article means that anyone one without the latest digital radio had to spend money to buy one or an adapter for the car. I hope they do not decide to do that sort of thing here in the U.S.

Our fruitcakes are still getting their periodic spray of brandy so they are not ready to eat :)
I have to wonder if that is one of the reasons that store bought fruitcakes are not nearly as good, which leads me to wonder if Spraying them with brandy for a couple of month would make them better ? Hmm... I smell a test coming up :)

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning!!

I am all for a fruitcake smell test!! Let me know how that goes!! <3

It is a little warmer today. And it feels good. The sun is out, too! We are more in the upper 50's and not as chilly tonite, I think the 40's. I have not checked yet.Good weather!! The wind was brutal yesterday. ( for Al., lol!) :D

Sorry about your weather! It sounds pretty, from afar!! :)

I get about the Pharmacy. I use the base more, so I forget when I drop by Walmart. I do hate to change as I am on record there for like 20 years, even though I just use it intermittently. You would just think if they possibly do not carry it, they would tell you, as they had no trouble filling it the last time I went, and never mentioned it then..... Well, I guess in my mind! :D

Interesting article on possible too much protein. As with all things, moderation...(big sigh)..unless it is really bad for us, then limited especially!! :*

Oh, I am excited for me!!! I stepped on the scale and lost 4 lbs. I about died! I have not been eating as well as I should quality wise but I have been trying to keep it within limits anyway, really hard. Happy Dance!! <3

Started using the smilies after each line and could not stop!! Sorry!!! :*

I'm back from walking this Morning in a light snowfall, The temperature this morning was 33 on the porch and 33 on the cable channel. Once again the Snow remnants left from yesterday did cause slippery spots on the Sidewalks and Driveway as I was walking :)
What did surprise me somewhat was that on many of the side streets the sidewalks were in better shape for walking than the street. The sidewalks that the town takes care of were all perfect.

This post covers the quote function being broken.

That is what You would think about a large chains pharmacy, not so however.

Sorry!!! :*

Loving the humor, too! Thanks as always!! ...Jan B)
I have a suspicion from my reading of the article that genetics and and overdoing it by magnitudes with the proteins.

I can understand using the smilies.

    I did see this, Congratulations

    Hi!
Wet and cold day. Missed church. I was up till 5 am and tried to get up at 7am. It did not happen! I did get most of my Christmas cards done. Only a few special ones to pick up.

Still have to finish shopping. This week is too busy but I refuse to get out on a week-end, lol!

Interesting articles. I may avoid carnival cruises!

Glad you take it safe walking! Sounds slippery at times. Our snow did vanish. Cold enough to do it again, it feels so raw out!!

I did fairly good today. And have been drinking my water again!! Take care in the weather!! ... Jan

    I posted more humor today

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning, The temperature this morning was 34 on the porch and 34 on the cable channel. The Snow remnants left from yesterday did cause a few slippery spots on the Sidewalks that caused minimal problems :)
