    Good morning!

Hope all is well! I love the video links, they are great! :)

I missed you all were getting snow. Not envious. Perfectly understandable for your neck of the woods. Our weather is so crazy here, I have a hard time remembering it is only Feb. and still winter. The ham sounds good. We are going to eat at a seafood restaurant today, and the chances of me succumbing to a fried dish platter are high. I hate it but so inevitable, lol! >:) Unless I can get crazy about the oyster salad, which sounds really good too.

I would have had a hard time with that kid on the plane. I feel he does that at home, and it is poor parenting skills. Amazing he did not settle and watch cartoons, as they have plenty on the movies for a selection. I am thinking he never is read to and has little skills as mom produced no books, crayons, or toys at any time....I would have a time with giant rats too...

I have that glass top stove and not supposed to use my cast iron. :/ I miss it, but saved 2 sizes . One small pan for cornbread, and the next size up for meatloaf and whatever can go in the oven.

I would hate to be that person in the FBI that missed that whole report on the Florida kid. That is pretty inexcusable in that circumstance.. :'(

Hope you are careful walking with that snow! *Val, hope you are doing okay! * ...Jan

and I did it again, more humor posted

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 34 on the porch and on the cable news channel. The forecast snow ended early overnight and they plowed around 2AM. The Footing was Good overall, I hit one slippery spot with one foot towards the end of the walk. The Snow that was left on the ground was getting crunchy sounding too. Then On my return home I saw that my Brother had nearly finished shoveling the Driveway so I grabbed the other shovel and tackled the sidewalk leading to the street. Despite the ordinance against parking on the streets when snow is falling to allow for the plowing I did pass several cars that the plows had to detour around :(

The scale was nicely lower than yesterday morning, again, It seems that the "Time-restricted eating" combined with a 100% NS plan is working really well so far. Whee And that is despite that we had the Bargain Price ham for Dinner with oven roasted Potato wedges and Oven Baked Asparagus cooked in the Cast Iron skillet in the oven at the same time the Potato wedges were cooking on the Cookie sheet that was sprayed with Olive Oil spray and some Montreal Seasoning sprinkled on the Potatoes, We had a Neighbor in for the meal too so the Afternoon passed easily.

    Hi Jan
You did not miss anything important, It is only snow and so far less than some years despite being more that I wanted. Every now and then I hear a car crunching down the street.

If that kid does that at home, he may end up as the only child
I would hate to be those parents if that is what they allow to happen, it indicates a total lack of concern for others :(

The cast iron skillets work really well in the oven for frying foods too, especially since They cook the top and bottom at the same time.

I wonder why they say no cast iron on the glass top stove, I had thought about getting one for the next time the stove needs replacing since in my mind it is easier to keep clean ? However that is out as my brother uses his daily :(

On the bright Side You are logging Your foods. I hope Your Seafood was delicious.

I did go out the front door and shovel the steps and a bit of the sidewalk before going walking for two reasons....
    1. I did not want to pack it down and make it harder to clear on my return which was my plan before I came home and saw my brother out there doing the driveway. I walked across the lawn outgoing for the same reason.

    2. I wanted to check the traction before heading out and if it was slippery I would have come back in the house and brewed a pot of coffee  I also wore the insulated Boots to keep my feet dry and warm as well as the fact that they have a much more aggressive tread pattern for traction.

Last Night before I trundled off to bed I looked out at the falling snow and it was building up on all of the branches and looked really pretty, This morning it is bot as nice as some of the snow fell off overnight.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 28 on the porch and 36 on the cable news channel. The snow that had fallen has melted away in most places leaving decent footing for my walk.

I tried the new Strawberry Yogurt flavored bar Lunch Entree...
Tasty if Very Sweet and a Good Texture and it even smelled like Strawberries when I opened it.

    Good Morning!

Yesterday seemed a long day with church, though it was a good day. I had my fish that was leftover, which was still really good warmed up. That was just an awesome 2 day meal, lol! I totally bypassed eating lunch at church, and did the dishes again. :) I did unfortunately eat at small group but very little. I did gain a few oz. but I can live with that. Your dinner sounded really good! I am totally impressed by your losing with fasting, by the way.

Yeah, I was not happy about my stove's book telling me not to use cast iron on top of the range. But I have an electric skillet that does well anyway. My friend uses hers though on a just slightly older glass top with no problem. She did not remember her book saying not to, but she admits she did not read it well. My new one has restrictions on even other pan bottoms. They prefer totally smooth, and I just bought one with more of a circular grooved bottom. I use it anyway with no problems, though occasionally I probably slide it more than I should, adjusting while cooking. I still like it though, especially not cleaning those burners! :D

Loving the video's! It sure brings back memories! Also loved all the humor!

I am still catching up on all the articles. I kind of loved the apple employees running into the glass! That is so me...I am glad though no serious injuries. That would be bad...

I am sure all that shoveling is another reason to lose weight! :) You enjoy your crazy weather (back and forth!)!

Val, I loved your pic of you and Em! I am glad you were able to take the day! And I love how happy you both look! A great picture!! <3

Jan-thank you for mentioning the incompatibility between a glass top stove and a cast iron skillet. I’ve had the stove 7 years, and the skillet a few months. It didn’t occur to me to re-read my stove instructions. Thanks for the compliment...we had a lovely day at the beach. Very grateful to my friend for driving because I couldn’t have made the trip without her. More stress at work...a co-worker told me that my boss is off this week...but I just talked to ger Sunday and she didn’t mention that. I’m suspicious that her boss is pushing her out. I don’t know. But so far it looks like I’m ‘safe.’

    Hi Jan
How nice that You enjoyed the fish and used it for two days. Congratulations on eating light despite the temptation.

I suspect that the reason behind the not using other types of pan bottoms could be tied to the contact pattern on the pans bottoms. Uneven bottoms should heat better with a gas stove for example. Sliding the pans could scratch the stoves glass top.

If You don't mind my asking, How is the stove top holding up ?
I suspect that part of the stove's instructions say not to use abrasives for cleaning.

    Hello all!

I am finally caught up on news stories! Some interesting stuff, and some surreal. I could not sit next to someone on a plane farting a couple hours, any more than that toddler screaming for 8 hours. Seems like they would move that guy somewhere even if it was in a stewardess seat to get him from the general public. :s

I actually had my first out of control evening in a while. I finished the box of town crackers I had bought for Sunday night which is why I try to not have them in the house. I love crackers of any kind! I did about 450 calories of damage, but it could have been worse. Hopefully I will do better today!

Val, if you have been using your skillets on your stove for 3 years, I would not worry about it. I am just leery of trying it. I did not know if it would get too hot, but you would know that by now! Hope things go better at work!

Roger, they make a special cream for glass stove tops that cleans and shines and works well. I have to replace a burner though as I lost one due to having a sugar spill on it, which can happen with high heat sugary things like candy, or hummingbird sugar, lol, which may have done it in. I am a sloppy cook, though I try to clean up quickly! :)

Keep up the good work all! ...Jan

    Good morning!

The instructions on the stove warn something like high sugary item spills can hurt conductivity so I am assuming that was my problem. For hard to clean spills of that nature they give special clean-up instructions. I have had that burner messed up a few times, and maybe not cleaned it well. On the other hand, it is the burner I use the most, it could be It just has a reg problem. The units are sealed, and I love it. Of course when one goes, you need a repair man to fix it due to now it is built! :#

I did indeed post more humor today

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 51 on the porch and 54 on the cable news channel. The forecast rain has not started yet, I could see that a few stray drops had hit the glass where I walked. I was dressed a bit lightly due to the warmer temperature and the wind had a bit of a chill to it.

I am taking May to the vet today! She needs all her regular shots and the follow up to her neck problems. I expect to pay a fortune and a fortune for meds, and hopefully not surgery... :|

Glad you have some nice if wet weather. We are in spring mode here, a little early. Off to vet! ...Jan B)

    Hi Jan
I suppose that being cheap I would take the Make and Model number of the stove top and look to see if I could find instructions on how to change a burner and if successful then I would look to see where I could buy, quite likely Amazon first as they would likely be cheaper than the makers prices.

Wednesday was actually warm and I felt a bit silly running the Wall mounted AC, however the Living Room was up to 78 degrees and felt a bit warm so I ran it. Tuesday felt like a spring day and Wednesday felt like a late Spring or early summer day.

    I did see this:

Hi. I only used my cast iron pan twice on the stove so it has done no damage. My glass top already wasn’t perfect because my young adults spill or pots boil over and minor scratches. I’m dragging along. My company does a lot of really good work. I don’t understand this current management chain. Disadvantage of working outside of the main office is their perception of dispensibility. I need to run to get kid off to school. Take care.
