    Good Morning!

Well, I am not sure about inexpensive day at the vet! May got all her yearly shots but one. There are about 6 vaccines and tests they do. She is now taking 2 medicines for pain and discomfort that she can remain on. They are $75.00 a month. All together it was $420.00 this time. This was the least non aggressive thing. If the meds do not help enough I can go back and get MRIs of two areas, the neck and hip region. That will be probably close to $1000.00 or so. Depending on what they find, then surgery might be involved. She seems to have problems with 2 areas of her spine. And she is only 3 yrs old, bless her heart. :|

I am weighing a little heavy today, and I was surprised. It is a little discouraging, but I will mush on, lol. This next little plateau is no fun. I have to roll my eyes some as you are losing so well. It is an example of how it does seem to be harder for women to lose! Of course, you are walking well, and are doing a bang up committed job!! And that is great! It would help if I upped and exercised better! Good job Roger! :)

Your weather seems so switchable. Is this unusual, or the norm for your area of N.J.? Loved the story on the underwater caves and treasures. The San Francisco one is just scary!!

I am going to eat out tonite, but plan on having something easy to count. I figure a nice hamburger, or shrimp and grits, or salad. Maybe why I am having a time losing? :#

Take care all! Hope it is a wonderful day! :) ...Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 38 on the porch. The secomd day of the four forecast days rain has not started yet. I was dressed warmer due to the lowered temperature and the wind had a bit of a chill to it. Yesterdays Temperature was 30 to 40 degrees lower at 4PM than Wednesdays and was lowering throughout the day.

The scale was nicely lower than yesterday morning, again, It seems that the "Time-restricted eating" combined with a 100% NS plan is working really well so far. Whee

Hi. I only used my cast iron pan twice on the stove so it has done no damage. My glass top already wasn’t perfect because my young adults spill or pots boil over and minor scratches. I’m dragging along. My company does a lot of really good work. I don’t understand this current management chain. Disadvantage of working outside of the main office is their perception of dispensibility. I need to run to get kid off to school. Take care.

    Hi Val
You have a Glass Top Stove too, Just curious, How do You like it ? I guess what I'm getting at is if it needed replacement would You get another one or go to a Gas Stove instead of the Electric ?
We have a Electric Oven and a Gas Cook Top which meant we could cook on the stove all those days when we had no power after Super-storm Sandy.

Sometimes management makes no sense, The current management may have a unseen agenda.

    Have a Good Day

    Ouch.

MRI's and then possibly surgery,That does sound expensive...

When weighing daily You need to ignore daily fluctuations. It is the overall trend on a weekly basis.

I was not feeling energetic today and did not go the entire distance.

I am tinkering with my morning foods and since I have too many Desserts I am trying eating one before I leave the house for my walk. I eat something before walking so that the mornings Coffee is not in a empty stomach.

Here in NJ we have a saying about the weather.
"Don't like the weather, wait a day it'll change."

I find it hard to not overeat if I go out to eat. Something in the food seems to trigger overeating for me. Good Luck eating out.

If I said that if the Hamburger is Flame Broiled I would eat it as a Chopped Steak

Grits could be a bit hard to judge the weight of and Salad depends on the type and amount of Dressing used.

    Good morning!

Busy days.Good for you just getting out. You don't have to walk the same everyday. Changing it a little if even shorter can help your body out of a routine, so I figure you are still good!

My dinner out went well. I stayed in my calories for shrimp and grits and salad, and even had enough calories to have a White Russian before dinner. Everything was very fresh and delicious. I skipped the run for ice cream some of the ladies made. So good day!

Makes up for today, though I did a lot of walking. We went to am Amish store and I bought some really nice baby swiss cheese. Then we went to a quarry where they used to mine marble. Now they take out calcium carbonate, I think it was. Huge hole in the ground with the prettiest green water from the sky reflecting off the marble bottom. We stopped at a pretty bread and breakfast for buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes with bacon and asparagus and carrots. It was yummy and I stayed in my calories. Then we went to the Blue Bell ice cream factory and I had some peaches and cream ice cream. That put me over as you get 3 huge scoops for $1.00 >:) That put me over but gee, what a deal and good ice cream. Beautiful day for traveling as it was 81 degrees, spring, and blue skies.

I came home to May May limping worse than ever. It seems swollen on her lower back, and I will have to get her back for X-rays soon. Of course it is the week-end. Why does this not happen on a week-day!

You can't get more weird than a stripper at a funeral, lol! :D

Hi all. Jan—sorry to hear of May May’s problems. I hope for all the best. My dogs are all doing fine...and I’m so grateful. With all my medical bills I need them to not need too much for a while. Oscar (110 pound lab/mastill) is at least 12 years old now...has had joint pain from untreated Lyme Disease since 2012. He maintains pretty well on $30/ month of tramadol. Roger—my current mgmt chain seems to have many aggenda, some overt and some not. I need to work all weekend. And late yesterday Em’s school made today (Saturday) a mandatory school day 1/2 day for a science fair. Many parents were angry and yelling at the office staff. I just quietly said that that if unfair as people make plans and some have to work...and noted that I know the office staff didn’t make that last-minute decision and was sorry that some parents were taking their frustrations out on them. I’m not doing well on eating healthfully. Cookies and ice cream yesterday. I’m eating my frustrations with medical bills and idiots. Oh, i fear that I might have a slight fracture in my right foot! So now both sides hurt when i walk.

    Hi Val
    Good news about Your dogs.

the worst kind of Agendas are the ones that have hidden goals.

I am not surprised that the parents took it out on the office staff, They were the ones that can be reached. I watch a older TV show called Parking Wars
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parking_Wars
The program followed traffic enforcement employees as they ticket, "boot,", tow, and release cars back to their owners, as part of their parking enforcement duties.
From what I can see the people seem to take no blame for what they do to get the parking Tickets which lead to the car being booted and towed. Most of the vitriol at the Ticket writers, Boot crew and Tow truck drivers ends up being Bleeped for language.

I hope that You are wrong about the fracture in Your foot.

Good Luck getting back to eating healthy

    Hi all!

Val, I am so glad that all your doggies are doing well, especially Oscar. I admit I have a soft spot for older dogs!
Vet prices down here have really gone up in the last few years. Always a problem when things crop up... I have never heard of a school making it mandatory for children to come on a Sat. in that context. I am not sure if that has cropped up before anywhere. Usually participation is voluntary. and often after school or arranged after 6pm that I remember. People do need to learn to protest with respect though all across the board. Respect seems to be out the window today. Your poor foot! I did not remember you saying you had hurt it. My memory is probably bad, but not good news! Hang in there!

Roger, you have not found your cents in a bit now! :) People need to be dropping more change! :)

I did lose a pound of what I had regained this morning. I will give myself a few days before I put my check-in up or down. I definitely need to weigh often to judge what I am doing and be accountable. The trouble with too low of carbs on some days is a problem when you do go back and eat some, as you seem to gain faster than normal. I have read it does kind of mess with your metabolism, and it does in my case. I can usually get by with two starch carbs a day, but far better is one and I lose. I wish I had asked for just one scoop of ice cream, but we were going thru the line rather fast as there were 32 of us and I did not really see the size of the scoops or how it was done till it was too late, lol. Of course I could not have eaten it all, but I just hated to throw it away. I can not believe how many pounds I gained though, as I was under my calories most days, and only over once, when I lost the pound. Just screwy to me, lol!

I have operated under Murphy's law most of my life, lol! A favorite of my Dad's. :#

Great news, and weird. Never heard of being allergic to water. How awful. The blessing on the guns sounds like that church is in need of a mental health program....

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 41 on the porch. The fourth day of the four forecast days of rain is the heaviest so far. I was dressed in full rain gear except for the insulated boots as I figured they would be a bit too warm. The Waking shoes I wore are somewhat wet, However I do have a second pair I can use tomorrow while these dry out.

I saw this on the news last night and both my brother and I said that's not even a meatball.

Mandatory seemed strange to me too. in keeping with the times, Being respectful seems to be only used if the person You are being nice to is not an authority figure :(

I agree, those greedy insensitive people wanting to hold onto their own money
I am kidding of course. I plan to hold onto all I can, My main luxury is Buying coffee to drink near the start of my walking and Even then I take advantage of the lower refill price where possible and even cans of coffee in the grocery store are not that inexpensive anymore.

Not Your memory, I did not recall mention of that either.

    Congrats on that loss.
Once my brother or I spend money on something that is edible it has to be ghastly have spoiled to get thrown out. We spent money on it therefore it gets eaten

You might find today's link regarding low fat vs low carb interesting, I did.

Murphy gets a lot of blaming around the house here.

As I see it that is a fringe church in a rural area of Pennsylvania.
I base the fringe aspect based on this section from the article.
According to the church’s website, the ceremony will focus on the “rod of iron” and each couples’ pledge to defend their home and the coming nation of Cheon Il Guk — the biblical kingdom of God referred to in Scripture.

The church describes the “rod of iron” as an “AR-15 semiautomatic rifle or equivalents such as an AK semiautomatic rifle.”

I could be wrong too ?

As I recall the article only a few people are allergic to water. That has to be tough, How do You stay clean for example, and they must have to stay inside on rainy days ?

Yesterday my Brother baked a whole chicken. I will be using some of it later today.
What I did was take some of the broth that was in the bottom of the roaster and put some of my brothers left over white rice from Chinese Take Out, three teaspoonfuls using a spoon from the washed silverware. A light shake of salt to taste and I had some tasty Homemade Chicken & Rice Soup.

    I did see these posts:

    Hello,

I made it thru pizza nite at church and stayed under my calories. :)

We are supposed to get 1-3 inches of rain Sunday and Monday. The stretch of rain covers a large bit of the country. It was awful the deaths from the tornadoes that accompanied it. Oddly with the deaths it was accompanies by most people drowning being trapped in the vehicles, and one who was blown into a pond. You don't hear that everyday. Glad we just have rain.

I am a little sore from working outside yesterday, so I was rather slow today! :D

Thanks for the good words- it is encouraging!

Your chicken and rice soup sounded awfully good! Especially as the rain makes it a little chilly.

Good articles! I had read about the dog being shot. Sounds like he will be okay. I think you are quite right about that church being fringe....

Headed for bed, can't keep my eyes open! Take care all! Have a good day! ...Jan

    And more humor once again

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 42 on the porch. The fourth day of the four forecast days of rain was the heaviest so far. Today is forecast to be in the 50s and today through Wednesday is predicted to be dry.
I used the rest of the broth from the Roast Chicken, some more Leftover Rice and some nice slices ot the Chicken as a Dinner Entree, Tasty too.

The scale was nicely lower than yesterday morning, again, It seems that the "Time-restricted eating" combined with a 100% NS plan is still working well.

    Hi Jan
Pizza is one of the foods that I have a problem with eating to much of :( So You did real good staying under Your calories.

Buttons61's food and exercise diary was completed for 2/25/2018 and was under Buttons61's calorie goal

Quite often heavy rain deaths are from drowning. There is a reason that Tornado Shelters are needed in some parts of the country. OTOH for them to be effective You need warnings and enough common sense not to go out when a warning is given.

The good news is that the soreness will pass.

Since the last four days with the dreary rain felt raw even inside of the house a nice warm soup did indeed hit the spot. The balance of the rice which happens to be the majority of it will be going into the garbage from the refrigerator right before it makes it trip to the curb for the next pickup. Otherwise I would be tempted to pull out a skillet, chop up some of the chicken, open a can of peas and or corn and fry them all together as a ersatz version of Chinese fried rice, Fried in Butter of course, everything tastes better done with butter :(

    Have a Good Monday

Hi. Sorry I’m sporadically appearing. Just got off work (9pm). They reorganized again, taking more away from the boss I really like. Sunday night 10:30 pm, a colleague called me to tell me not to worry. Um, I wasn’t worried, I was sleeping...but, what shouldn’t I worry about? She went in to tell me how valuable I am to the team and what a great talent and work ethic I have. Okay, I thanked her...but what shouldn’t I worry about? I think she’s not allowed to tell me that mgmt is pushing out my other boss...and this was her way to say I’m not getting pushed out. I guess. My foot. Well, I don’t remember injuring it either. A week ago, i woke and the top of the foot near the big toe and second toe was swollen, sore, and oddly colored. Like a green bruise. It consistently hurt, worse when walking...but not too bad today.

    Hi All!

It did not rain much today, but the air was damp. I got my blood drawn and went to lunch with a friend. I barely stayed in calories, and had too many carbs probably, but it could have been worse. At least I did not blow it entirely and eat more, as I often have done. That was a good thing! :)

Roger, the first thing that popped in my head was making fried rice with the last of the rice, lol. Great minds... I congratulate you for not doing it and staying on track! :D

Our only sunny day comes tomorrow, with rain the rest of the week. But a nice week end. The Olympic article was interesting. I used to watch several things, but since giving up cable and while I worked, I had stopped watching.I always enjoyed figure skating (minus a few judges) and the bobsleds.

Val, That is sure weird with your foot. Maybe it was bruised on your last walk, though it seems a bit ago. But glad it is better. Your company certainly keeps one guessing, No non drama there! :*

Take care all. Stay focused! Eat healthy!! :# ...Jan

    More Humor is posted, Enjoy

FWIW Yesterday I used a 1/2 cup of Leftover Chinese Rice, Canned Peas and diced up some leftover Chicken and Fried them together in the Cast Iron with some butter as the oil, Nice and Tasty and this morning the scale was kindly. Today I will use up the rest of the rice, peas and
chicken as a repeat meal and then back to 100% NS for Wednesday.
The rice was around 66 calories and the peas around 88 calories Plus the chicken so I counted it as a NS equivalent meal in caloric intake.

Thus it does seem as if the Restricted time diet is working for me so far.

    Have a Good Day
