I’ve been working this weekend but I also did an hour a yard work....five months of no yard work is quite a lot to catch up on. Nowhere close to being done.

    Hi all!

I am like you Val. I need to get out in the yard badly. I have just been too busy and have only gotten out one time. I have a ton to do also. I hope you did not over do!

I did good watching at guest lunch and just had some chicken and vegetables. Our small group met and I just wish we wouldn't eat again. I had a small cheese sandwich and chips, and skipped the chocolate chip brownies and ice cream. I barely squeaked under my calories, and am hungry from the empty carbs and wanting more chips. :) I do better to skip the food than control it sometimes. It was still better than I usually do though. Not much choice when you are invited to eat. :# Although the grandkids like lamb, we had the shepherds pie with ground meat. I think that that might be a cottage pie in England (I think), but here in America they do usually use beef nowadays..

Interesting articles. The S. Africa one was a little scary. Loved the penguin one. I hope people will leave them alone.

Sounds chilly in your neck of the woods at 39 degrees. We had a beautiful weekend, highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's. I have not checked the rest of the week yet!

Stay warm and stay safe all! :) have a good Monday. ...Jan

    I have posted humor already

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 33 on the porch.
It is a slightly cloudy day so far, Hopefully the Sun will come out later. Yesterdays weather forecasts are saying that we could get another storm on Wednesday.

The scale was nicely lower than yesterday morning, again, It seems that the "Time-restricted eating" combined with a 100% NS plan is working really well so far.

    Hi Val
I suspect that where You are the yard needs more maintenance too, Here the Lawns go dormant for the winter so once leaves are taken care of in the fall, Done deal

So far, Knock Wood, The snow has not been to bad, A mixed blessing as I saw one of the reservoirs Thursday and there was a lot of dry land showing that should have been underwater.

    Hi Jan
One of the drawbacks of living down south seems to be more yard work :(
Yard work is not my favorite past time.

I find that empty calories AKA empty carbs leave me hungry too. I suspect that to be by design if they are factory made.

The chicken and vegetables should work, OTOH the Brownies and Ice Cream sound so tempting so Congratulations on avoiding those calorie bombs and staying under Your caloric goal.

TBH I would not eat it with lamb, I prefer Beef

Reading that article it sounds as if South Africa may be going downhill rapidly.
From that articleBotched and often violent redistribution of land in neighboring Zimbabwe under ex-leader Robert Mugabe left many farms in ruins, and the drop in production triggered an economic crisis that still haunts the country.
I could see the same thing happening there.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!

I had run around all day yesterday. I had signed in to read and was going to write later in the day, was was so tired I actually went to bed early. A rarity for me! I had payed bills , called the vet, watered plants, got my trash out and rescheduled my termite annual check all by 10 am. I was hoping to start cleaning house and realized I would need to run to the vet that day for May May's pills, I had only 2 doses left. So, off I go across town. They were expecting it in the 11 am mail, and it had not arrived. They arranged for it to be at the sister clinic which is larger and I drove there. I sat and watched the doggies in the play area there for about 20 min. to give them time to fill the prescription. :) She gets 6 pills a day and I got a month worth. I picked myself up from the floor after paying $256.00. Then came home, ate, and had to sit. I did a few dishes and then headed back to Montgomery at the movie theater which is actually adjacent to my vet for a later special movie from Voice of the Martyrs that my daughter in law arranged to be shown in this area. It was about the Russians take over of Romania (WW 2) and what happened to the Christians there. It focused on one family, a Lutheran minister who denounced the Communists, and his wife and their imprisonment for 15 some years. They both made it out alive, and also had several stories intertwined with that, all true. We had to have 60 people to come and she got close to 100. It did not start till 7:30 however, so I was home after 10 pm and I was beat! :#

Today and Weds. are catch up day with cleaning. And I get to stay home! Yay!!! Even May May is happy! It is raining here, just light so far, but I think we are getting storms later.

Congrats on finding money! I did not realize your reserves of water were a little low. Seems you have had rain, just not enough. The axe lady looks crazy and on something. Scary to think she could even climb a fence...Glad we do not have subways for perverts. That would be all I need... :s

Believe it or not, I did not know the N.E. had that big storm until I saw it posted by you. I missed one day of news, and nothing was on the computer locally about it. That is weird.. The pictures were amazing. And terrible for those who lost their things. Cannot believe the cold. I guess we will get it Weds. nite and Thurs. I have to regather plants and cover them. Expected that though. It will probably kill my blueberries and azalea blooms, which are just formed. That is sad.. :/ Poor plants will be all confused. I feel for our friend, who had a peach orchard. I am afraid it will damage all his trees too, I hope not.

Headed for humor! I am still behind! Thank you for posting! Have a good day! Stay warm!! ...Jan

We did have wind damage all over the tri-state area from the TV news coverage, They did not mention Pennsylvania however I'm pretty sure they took a beating too. They were still restoring power to people that had lost it and did not expect to finish before this next Nor' Easter arrives later today. From the news broadcasts it seems that some of the ones that had no power from the last one are predicted to have it restored this Friday, Hopefully. That will depend on how much damage the forecast winds do today.

New York City appears to have turned into a sewer. It has not been the same since one of their mayors turned the "Non Violent" crazy people out on the streets to save money.

    Good morning!

Every now and then I have weird problems, too. The other night I posted, and came in later and it was not there. It posted again as I must have come in a different way, but it was confusing! It doesn't take much to confuse me, lol!

I do not envy those storms. I am a real hot house plant now! The thought of dealing with snow is enough to make me shiver! Especially cleaning dog feet with ice balls on them. In Germany that was a task with Sunshine, our cocker spaniel. Of course, the Germans love their dogs and they are allowed in many shops. It always got me free brotchen and pastry cause she was so pretty! :)

You often make lots of trips with your walking! And rarely complain about being tired! I am a wussy older person it seems! :D

N.Y. Might be a fun place to visit, but I would not want to live there.

Mansanto has been getting away with damage to people and the environment for years. I do not know who can be strong enough to get to them. I think it was one of the Kennedy's that tried to stop them one , Ted, I think. Even he couldn't....Did you see the price of those hamburgers in the articles. Did the periods just not show on camera? I would not pay 45 and 90 dollars for a hamburger! :# I swear, looks like the price... :s

Before I forget, more humor is posted

    Hi
I'm did not go walking today and Thus no cents. The temperature this morning was 32 on the porch. Since we need to go shovel more heavy snow later I decided to take the day off from walking

The weather forecasts regarding the storm on Wednesday appear to have been accurate. Parts of NJ had over 26 inches of snow. Here in Central NJ it looks like under a foot of that very heavy wet snow. The power went off an on a few times yesterday with the final outage having a duration of 5 hours. The Plows went through overnight and the end of the driveway looks like we never shoveled it :(
When we were out shoveling there was a steady crack noise in the air and another branch would be breaking off the trees in sight and falling. between the tree across the street and next door there must have been 6 large branches break off. Those would be the ones 6 to 12 inches and too many to try and count of smaller branches.

NYC used to be a place I did not mind visiting, No more it has changed and not for the better.

I did not notice a price on the hamburgers sorry.

The idiots in NYC will pay $100 for a Meatball so who knows what they would do there.

    No problem, enjoy the humor.

NJ took a a pounding from the heavy wet snow. Branches, Trees and power lines down all over the place. Listening to the battery operated radio after the power went it seem that over 1/4 million people were without power before I went off to get some sleep. At least we do not have a large tree branch across the driveway like I can see at a neighbors house. To the good side it did miss he cars which are now parked in.

    Congratulations, I saw these.

Hi. I had a healthful and yummy dinner: tofu and zucchini. Good news at the dentist...no cavities plus no visible damage from my week of teeth clenching during sepsis-fever week. After that, my teeth hurt so horribly that I thought I would have to have them all removed. Luckily they recovered and no longer hurt.

That was quite interesting about the film found from the S.F. earthquake. I have seen another film and pictures from it, and find it fascinating. Which is kinda bad as it is a disaster. I guess we will have to be watching for space junk in a few weeks. That is kind of mind boggling! Be my luck.... I guess the tourists usually see the better parts of town seeing N.Y. Iy is sad to see some of the old neighborhoods go to ruin. I have seen pictures on google where my Grandparents lived, and some of the houses are kept up. But many are broken and abandoned on the street. So sad. The old bakery building is still standing but it is abandoned and graffiti written all over it. It was beautiful when I was growing up. :'(

I had Thai food with my daughter, and barely squeaked by on calories. Might skip weighing Friday! :#

Hope you all have a great day, and stay safe!! ...Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 32 on the porch.
The weather forecasts regarding the storm on Wednesday appear to have been accurate. Parts of NJ had over 26 inches of snow. Here in Central NJ it looked like under a foot of that very heavy wet snow however the local cable news channel showed 22 inches in a nearby town

You would not want snow like we got, It was a heavy wet snow and at the end of the driveway where the plows threw up a mound it also got waterlogged and super heavy.

I did go out walking for a short distance today, the only decent route was walking in the road so for safety I only boomeranged up for coffee and back home. Even though I only went a few blocks I had to reverse course and choose an alternate route due to a tree across the road where I usually walk when heading that way.

I hope My Brother and I have no problems with the three stops planned for today. I will be riding along as two of the three are ones I need to make also. Stop 1 his doctor for a quick blood test, Stop 2 pick up the new eyeglasses. Stop 3 the Shoprite Grocery Store. I am thinking of having him stop at Wendy's since I believe they still have their Double stacker on sale for $1, That would be two 1/8 pound hamburger patties and a slice of cheese. I plan to throw out the Bun and substitute the low calorie and low carb bread. Add in the Vegetables from the freezer and a Apple and Voila a complete meal.
