    Morning!

Sounds like a good recovery, Val! Keep it up!! :) My daughter is like that too!

Some really interesting posts. Roger! I am still catching up!! That Target CEO needs to come live at my house...lol...see how most people really live... Unbelievable how oil rich Venezuela was, and I believe they are worse than Russia, who has a weird infrastructure.

Miracle...cleaned my refridge!! Worked outside, then shopped for easy guest lunch. I am pooped with more to go, but luckily not much. It was 100 degrees shopping, but cooler in the trees with slight breeze and lower humidity. A 3 day miracle!! :#

    The 60's? I can't remember, lol...

Poor Spike, give him a smooch and cuddle from me!! At least the wound looks very even and looks to heal up well! You have done just right! <3

Hang in all!! Stay cool! ..Jan

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 65 degrees, it was comfortable while walking due to the the great temperature and low humidity which is slightly higher today.
When I headed out the door a walking appetite ran away and up the street across the neighbors yard

Hi. I’m feeling positive today. Time to get back to taking care of me! I love chickpeas cooked in the air frier after sprinking garlic and cumin. Easy!!! Tasty crunchy, and cheap. Before I went on vacation, doc had doubled my dosage of a PPI (for GERD/ulcers). It caused me severe muscle and joint pain within 2 days and rendered me unable to walk by the time we got to the Grand Canyon. So I stopped. I can walk!!! But the notable joint pain effects everything. Not just the obvious joints like knees, but all including each finger joint. Weird. Surgery may fix the hernia and insurance would pay...but having sepsis once makes me terrified of ANY surgical procedure. I know when i had lost some of this belly fat, my GERD was much improved. So, need to see how well I can make myself before deciding if I need surgery. On my FB hiatal hernia group, many have said that surgerons recommend gastric sleeve at the same time as hernia repair. Again I’m terrified of surgical “fixes” for infection or side effects. Spike is still doing well. Next hurdle will be Monday when his compression jacket comes off. Ive brought him back to bed with me...and i close the bedroom door leaving Ignis loose in the house. I was doing more for Ignis’ happiness than spikes, and I changed that. I’m not neglecting anyone...just ensuring spike and my needs are met too! Good nap. Took Em shopping today...she is really delightful. I enjoy her company. Here’s a pic of spikes smallest wound.
    Hi Val
Air fryer, the is the one that is supposed to cook crispy without lots of oil if I am remembering correctly ?

I get occasional pains in different joints, Fortunately so far Aspirin works and I do not need to resort to getting something stronger. The one pain that has happened in the past and is present slightly right now is inflammation of the middle finger joint on the hand. The last time it became bad I had to get a shot into the joint, The Shot cured it however the process of getting the shot was excruciating :( What makes this a problem is that it is the hand I use with the mouse.

Some of the side effects are worse than the condition being treated.
Gastric Sleeves are not a cure all from what I saw when I researched them, They require different eating patterns and from what I have seen they do lead to a weight loss that often reverses and despite them people end up putting weight on, I passed on the idea FWIW.

I'm with You, invasive procedures unless required are not good.

    Hi Jan
Venezuela seems to be a big Socialism fail, Hopefully the people here learn from it. However it and South Africa are never covered on the TV or radio news, The conspiracy minded might find that scary.

Yikes, 100 Degrees, I would not have left the AC except for some dire need and shopping does not fit that need in my case.

I remember that 60s, I was in High School when JFK was killed.

    I saw this too:

    Hi Jan
Good news for me today, I was down that pound despite going to the supermarket. I picked up a tine taste of pasta and a few Onion Rings and a bunch of what were described as Louisiana Style Spare Ribs. They were so tasty and so well done that they fell off the bone and I used a fork to eat them

I had a bag of pre cut salad with no dressing later in the early afternoon, and a light dinner and voila the scale smiled at me.

Today I have two fried Chicken Breasts and two wings that will form the basis of my meals, One breast with the breading removed for each of two meals and the two wings for the midday snack. It was a 50% off 8 piece package and my brother will use the legs and thighs.

I also bought so 50% off Honey Roasted Turkey Lunch meat that I threw into the freezer along with a package of Roast Beef Ends. I have not decided what to pull for use tomorrow, the Turkey or the Baked Ham Slices.

    Cheers

    Good morning!

You did good Roger! I overate Sunday as usual and am still paying for it. I was holiday miserable and did not even step on the scale to see the damage. I was exhausted by the time Sunday ended and today I had my bone density /mammogram which thank goodness went well, though not at first with some confusion. By the time I got home, I do not think I could have gotten up or anything done if my life depended on it..I do have a day or two at home. I have my follow up early Thursday and have to squeeze in my refills before the holiday. Just too old for all this running, lol...

Val, you are brave! The gurgling would have got to me for Spike...Glad he is improving! Hang in there, both you and Spike!! <3

    Hi Jan
I was likely lucky that most things in the hot foods section did not appeal to me.
Whee, The scale was kind to me again. Yesterday I used the two Breast halves and two wings as the meat in my meals. I did Pull the breaded skin off of the Breasts and had one for Lunch and the other for Dinner and the Wings as the Mid Day snack with some vegetables consisting of Baby Carrots, Green and Yellow Beans and other things. Today I must be strong as I am feeling a yearning for a Ham and Cheese Omelet from Joe's Meat Market.

I didn’t weigh myself at my recent high a couple days ago. I’m sure I’d gained back 5-10#. Last 2 days have been eating sensibly. Starting to feel some relief in the clothing tightness. Sunday the neighbors were having cable issues and the box is in my yard. 10am to 8pm guys in and out which messes with the flow of my dogs. The last guy was nice...left after dark. Then I discovered i o longer had internet! So...after waiting all day, they finally showed up...that last guy...severed my line trying to bury their line. So 3 hours later...I again had internet. Spike won’t eat. He’s mostly ok but occasionally has that weird breathing. I’m so tired. Roger-glad the scale is being nice! Jan- i hate it when insurances won’t let us refill early so we don’t have to stress about it. Im due for my second shingles vaccine but the first made me 100% non-functional so I can’t get the second until Ignis is gone so i can just rest. I’m tired. Happy Tuesday.

I was finally home most of the day! And cleaned up my mess from Sunday. I have an appt . follow-up on both Thursday and Friday, still need to celebrate my Grand daughters b-day, which was last week, and get my meds refilled. Luckily my meds run out Weds. of next week, so I will have 2 days to get refills. Never again will I let them schedule all this stuff so close together. I am finally not sore from the colonoscopy, and realized some of my not feeling good is probably due to higher than normal blood sugars. Not good... :/

Jenny and I went for BBQ tonite, but I had less carb-y sides with my brisket, hot link sausages, and shredded pork. I did have a small corn muffin!! :# But doing better...

And more humor was posted a few minutes ago

    Hi
I'm back home from walking with no cents spotted. The Temperature out the door was 81 degrees,Yesterday at 10PM it was still 86 degrees, it was not comfortable while walking due to the higher temperature the humidity.
Yesterdays high temperatures in NJ at the hottest spot was reported as 99 degrees with most of the state being in the mid 90s :( My Crazy Brother went out and mowed around 11AM when it was already hot and humid.

I sort of hate it when I enter a place with AC such as the Post Office and where I pick up my morning coffee as when I go back out the heat feels even worse. It is not so bad going out the front door to walk, Example: This morning Living Room 79 degrees and 81 degrees outside, I did turn the AC back on as I left to have a cool location when I returned from the walk.

AC in the car is not working, It appears that there is a Freon leak as it won't hold a charge and there is a electrical fault that our mechanic described as a faulty resistor that has killed the three slowest fan speeds :(

I managed to fix the door latch on my Brothers door. It failed in such a manner that the only way to close it was to turn the handle as if You were opening it. The Part on the edge of the door had failed in some manner, I got lucky when I examined it that I had the same one left from another Door latch that I had replaced. I knew being a pack rat would come in handy. I kept it in the same spot I keep the New Key Locks and Bathroom sets on hand.

    Hi Val
Eating sensibly helps me reduce cravings too. Then I see a commercial on the TV for some food and Whamo cravings are back.

No luck from the sound of it, Your cable repairmen sound only semi competent
I have never had that sort of trouble here, OTOH our Power and Cable and until recently when the POTS Phone service was turned off are all above ground on pole. Some of the newer developments they are underground and as a result some of those homes have two or three different boxes in their front yard. And they still have poles for the street lights

Have You checked with the Vet ? Not eating does not sound that good to me ?

How much longer til no Ignis ?

Once again the scale was kind to me, OTOH I suspect a lot of it was water weight, It still helps with the fit of the clothes however

OTOH nothing wrong with feeling good unless You have a Blood Sugar problem such as Diabetes.

I do not recall feeling sore from the last Colonoscopies, Hmm...

Wet or Dry Rub BBQ ? I find I like Ribs with a Sauce that is sort of sweet. I also keep Sweet baby Ray's BBQ sauce on hand for things like the NS Burgers and the NS Meatloaf Dinner Entree Sandwich.

Biased News, Surprise Surprise. Most of if not all of the Non Local news comes out of large urban areas that are heavily biased to on side of the political spectrum :( I remember when the News presented both sides of political things with no bias. I fear for where things are going. the East and West Coast urban populations want to control the rest of the country by getting rid of the electoral college whose purpose was designed to prevent a small heavily populated part of the country controlling things as I see it.

    Hello!

Starting to feel a little better today and more back to normal. I have a touch of diverticulosis so it is possible that aggravated it too. Maybe you were just lucky? The one at 54 yrs did not bother me in the slightest.

Interesting about the Belviq. It was fine, till it stopped working! Dino DNA. I repeat... Did Jurassic Park teach us nothing?

Thundering...My Dr called and said my mammogram and bone density were normal. That's good news. Part of me is actually normal! YAY!

Thursday is my cardio follow-up. Hope that is good news and non invasive also!

Val, hope Spike is eating better. The German Vet always had me boil up a little lunch meat, cool the broth and offer. My dogs liked it. Then they ate the lunch meat down the road later in the day.

I like sweet BBQ sauce too. I love Kraft still the best, other than some local ones at the restaurants here. I like rubs too or a combo. The best rubs have brown sugar in them!!

Political parties. Do not get me started. ... :# News either, lol... :#

Getting dark here! hang in all...hope things are okay!! ... Jan

Hi. I was completely wearing myself out to take care of Ignis and Spike and feeling like i was failing both. Yesterday i sent a text to Ignis mom asking when their house appraisal was....because i was beyond drained. She came to get him last night. I love that dog but he’s super high energy and with segregation for feeding and for spike, it was too much. I slept. Spike slept. Our peaceful home returned. Yesterday i took spike to vet (same place as surgery but that vet wasn’t in). This vet complete jerk! Hates chihuahuas, hates pit bulls...treated me like i am stupid. When i said that the other vet said to watch for decrease appetite etc. and that’s what was happening this dude said “what do you want me to do about it?” He didn’t give a hoot about vomiting, no appetite, and choking cough...he griped about spike needing his teeth cleaned. I said there is absolutely no way I’d put a recently severely injured dog under anesthesia when they’re having trouble breathing just for a teeth cleaning! He responded, well, i guess you don’t have the money. I said this has nothing to do with money, but the welfare and life of the dog. He charged me for the post-op visit (first time in my life!). Wretched human. Late last night Ignis mom texted me that she wants me to rehome ignis. OMG. She created a monster dog by smothering with love and not teaching it boundaries and properly socializing! I really don’t know how to find him the right home. My fruits and veggies are heavenly! Today I ate broccoli and cantaloupe and grapes and kale and chickpeas. I know not as tasty as sweet BBQ sauced ribs, but it feels good. Did lots of laundry (sheets blankets towels etc). Spike doing better today...eating and most of the time breathing well. Jan -I have diverticulitis too. The only triggers that I know of for me are seeds! I have to stay clear of flaxseed and sesame seeds.

I shall be posting more humor in a couple of minutes, Enjoy

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 82 degrees,Yesterday at 10PM it was still 88 degrees, it was not comfortable while walking due to the higher temperature the humidity. I did manage to extend my distance by picking up a Super Big Gulp filled with Ice and Diet Pepsi.
On the Outbound leg of my walk I had the Bleep scared out of me when I heard a large thump next to me and then a Deer ran off. I can only guess that the noise was the startled Deer kicking the house next to me as it scrambled up or off.

According to my Brother, anytime he gets on the scale and it does not say "You Only Put in a dime, One at a time" it's to the good.
