    Hi Jan
Good morning. I need to read those stories. A congressman who openly hates the country? Satellites that can send microwaves to earth (so...why do they have that capability???). I’m not surprised about the Puerto Rico supplies...but i want whoever was responsible to he held accountable. 1,400 humans died on US soil. I’m still nursing my cold.
    Hi Val
A congressional candidate not congressman yet and likely never will be.

Satellites transmit to the earth all the time. As an Example my Satellite TV, 99%+ of the channels on a cable company are received from satellites in Geosynchronous orbit. Weather Satellites and more, they all need to transmit to earth. I hope that clarifies why ?

I am not surprised either, it may not have made the news but the governor of Puerto Rico dismissed the first company the repairing the electric system and succeeding for technical reasons delaying the restoration of power.
    https://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherhelman/2017/11/03/is-300-million-contract-to-fix-puerto-ricos-power-grid-whitefishgate-or-just-a-red-herring/

Is That $300 Million Puerto Rico Power Contract 'Whitefishgate' Or Just a Red Herring?

First up: restoring the toppled steel towers that prior to Maria’s tempest carried high-voltage lines north-south for 30 miles across the island’s mountainous interior. In the past month, says Whitefish spokesman Ken Luce, Techmanski has brought 350 linemen to the island, many from power utilities in Jacksonville and Kissimmee, Fla. Working with Chinook heavy-lift helicopters and truck-based cranes, Whitefish has succeeded in rebuilding and re-energizing one high-voltage line, and they expect to finish the second within a couple weeks.

The sudden huge jump in deaths is a bit suspicious to me.
And I have a huge issue with passing students that didn’t earn it. Sorry I misread county for country...but clearly that man has a mean soul and should not be in office nor be drinking.
I agree, If You have a drinking problem, stay out of office and off of the roads. FWIW It is a easy mistake to make.

Social passing, Is a destructive concept, that would make a employer cast a jaundiced eye on anyone from those schools even those that did do the work come under suspicion. Looking a that You can see why many colleges have remedial classes for what should be basic skills.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!

Still trying to recover from visiting my son and family with my daughter. my daughter stuck to her keto, but I indulged in Chinese.. I ended up getting to bed at roughly 2 am, but getting up at 7 for church, Sunday school, meeting a friend and small group. Most definitely too much on too little sleep! I still feel the effects...

We had a lovely rain and needed it. I thought all the articles interesting, though as usual, you wonder at some people!!

Hope N.J. flooding was not too bad, especially where you are, Roger.

Just made a skillet of canned corned beef hash and cabbage for the day. Filling and not too many carbs..recovering from the week end..

Val, I hope you feel better and get a break soon.. Take care all...Jan

I just posted some humor with a swamp rat theme for some of them

    Hi
I'm back home from walking 1 cent. The Temperature out the door was 69 degrees and uncomfortable while walking due to a medium fog making it very humid IMO. It was OK walking so I did go further than on Monday.
Around here the rain was fairly steady when it started up again shortly after I returned home from walking Monday. Some parts of NJ had over 7 inches of rain and another day with severe flooding in some areas.

The Raspberry Bushes and the Blackberry Bush were very prolific, Sadly I only had a handful of Raspberries and a few more Blackberries due to four legged tree rats eating most of them before they are ripe enough for me to eat :(

    Hi Jan
Chinese, So tasty but I do feel it the next day. It makes me want carbs and lack energy.

Keto can be tough to stick too, I hope Your Daughter is having here blood levels for Vitamins and Minerals checked by her doctor.

Flooding has never been a problem in many parts of town, There are parts that flood where bridges cross over brooks that run through town and sometimes that leaves only one way in or out of town.

I would have thought that the Corned Beef Hash would have carbs from the Potatoes in it ?
The Mary Kitchen brand that my brother buys in a 7.5 ounce can has 21 grams of carbs and the can looks tiny

Have a Good Dry Day or do You need more rain?

    Cheers

Good News that You are feeling better.

I saw the same cars floating down the river, just to many times, talk about repetition.

I would not exactly call it high ground as I reserve that term for the Low Mountains here in NJ, However Going back to the 60s I have never seen flooding in this part of town. It does flood where the roads cross over the brooks during things like Superstorm Sandy.

I hope the dogs let You have a restful day.

    Good morning,

Glad you are not flood prone. 7 inches of water is indeed too much at one time in those other sections of N..J. Or anywhere for that matter!! Glad you found your penny! You are correct! My brain was not working well on Monday! I thought I had said canned corned beef, not the hash. That would indeed be too many carbs! My brain just added the hash when I typed and I did not proof read! I guess I should all the time!! My brain is not working too well for Tuesday either. I got to bed by 2 am, just was not ready earlier. But got up at 6 am for my Panera group! We just talked however, did not get into our book we are trying to study!

Scary articles! I have to really reverse myself on the dog kissing and licking, as it appears complications are not as rare as they used to be. I have just never worried about it, not that I am going hog wild on the kissing. Unless it is the top of May's head. But I have been kissed by a variety of dogs in my lifetime with no ill effects. I guess I am more leery of that now. Funny these cases seem to be in the same area too, more or less..good grief!!

We could use more rain, but are not starved for it. I enjoy a gentle rain or thunderstorm..the latter assuming I am not on the interstate!

Glad you feel better too, Val! Everyone has that too much to do and too little time syndrome. Most countries laugh at us and our work schedules and lack of down town. I wish we could learn that from other countries..siestas happen for a reason, and in a lot more countries than Spanish speaking ones!!

Sorry your berries are being nibbled Roger. I bet with the heat of your summer, lots of critters are trying to find everyone's tasty morsels!!

Take care all!! Perseverance! Not my strong suit! Jan :)

    Good morning!

Maybe it was kind of the critters to let you have a FEW of your berries? :s

May May is driving me crazy with her barking today! I think one of the squirrels, your favorite critter is teasing her..she is dancing around on her hind feet pulling at a branch. I think the squirrel is much farther up, laughing at her.

Japan is guilty of being workaholics also. They are also losing their good health status slightly as they indulge in American fast food. I love to see the menus of our chains that are overseas. You know, like squid ink buns for some hamburgers, lol...

I did get to raspberry thumbprint cookies at Panera. I just have too many temptation opportunities to try the keto, because if you add the slightest carb you shouldn't, you blow up in fat and sugar weight. I could do it if I stayed home and was less social...maybe...

I had a long week end when my bank ran out of cash on Sunday from the ATM. Not that I could not do differently, but it lead to a long and confusing couple hours that I spent helping my church friend, as I would have planned differently. Since she has ADHD, I felt I had it too by the time we straightened out a few problems... :D

With all this sophisticated hacking, I wonder if it will plunge us back into other methods eventually. That is pretty weird too. That thought...

I have laughed a few times as a few really young minors and/or dogs got elected... :#

Ive had a few crazier than usual work days. None of my dogs are lickers...i guess I’ve always discouraged it. I kiss them on the tops of their heads. Ignis’ mom came to visit. He was super happy to see her, but he also showed her that he’s happy here too. I was telling her about all of his and my ‘conversations’ and she initially laughed, but was impressed at how accurately he communicates with me. He prefers doing his business on dry grass...doesn’t appreciate rain or wet grass; prefers morning walks at 10...not 5am like i wanted. I’m upset about work but I need to try to sleep.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking Yesterday when I went back out I found a shiny Dime, Today Nothing. The Temperature out the door was 77 degrees and uncomfortable while walking due to humidity IMO. I did make one change, I picked up a Super Big Gulp Diet Pepsi with a lot of ice which did help somewhat. I think there is enough caffeine in that to keep a lack of Caffeine Headache away.
