    Good morning!

It is too hot and humid to do much. I just discovered I got so much done on Monday and Tuesday because I had caffeine, lol... Too late in today to have some and save my day, lol...

I am really feeling the pinch on the money lately. Prices are just unheard of for most everything...So far I am not liking medicare. I just got a $120.00 bill for my visit to the colonoscopy Dr. I have not even had the procedure yet. With two insurances I am paying a lot. The most I ever had before was a $20.00 co pay. Now they take $130.00 a month, and I am paying much more. Apparently it will take me a while to figure this out...I was not planning on a third supplement, but maybe I am mistaken...I feel the pain.... :/

Oh yikes on the bring home treat! I could skip the sandwich, but I would fight you for the rest!

I think I am feeding May a little too much. She is spoiled and gets some ground chicken/turkey with hers. Mainly left over from when she did not eat from surgery. Now she is spoiled!

    No snake..so far...Yay!

Does not surprise me the techy things make kids dumber, to simplify!!

Get some rest Val! Smell those roses on the way! A minute anyway! Take care all!! Jan

I will be posting more humor in a minute or two as soon as I dry out a bit from the walking

    08/09/2018 100%

    Hi
I'm back from walking and one (1) cent. The Temperature out the door was 79 degrees and very uncomfortable walking due to humidity.
Today is once again forecast to be in the 90s, The heat wave continues :(
The humidity is forecast to be lower later today, too late to do me any good walking.

I will be out the door later after my brother leaves to go to the post office. I have to ship back the old cable modem that they sent to give higher speeds for the same price, At least it is a prepaid label.
A price too high as is IMO. The swap was a pain in the neck. The problem started with the instructions.
Step 1. Download their App to the Smartphone.
Step 2. Scan a QR code.
    Step 3. Swap modems.
Step 4. Go back and use the app to activate if I understood it.

I did not pay a lot of attention to all the steps as all we have are Dumb Phones AKA Flip Phones that have no Internet, one or two have cameras, Unneeded IMO FWIW. Therefore I ended up on the phone to the cable company. It started off poorly with the announcement that there was a 45 minute Que ahead of me. Did I want to stay online or set up a callback. I chose Callback. Then the darn thing took forever to get going :(

I worked from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm (including breaks for driving, chatting w people at office, and meals). I’m still tired. White Sands had sledding but it was too hot for us. My doggos don’t jump on people. Oscar (my big one) eats 3 cups of kibble daily (across two meals). The medium ones (50#) each eat 1.5 cups daily. Spike (8#) eats 1/2 cup daily. I’m so tired.
    Hi Val
That is too many hours to be working even with some breaks, A 16 hour day. I can see why You would be tired, I used to work days like that on occasion when I was driving for a living. OTOH I did get 8 hours regular and the rest of the hours at Time and a half and it still wasn't worth it too me. We used to bid for routes based on seniority and sometimes one of the 4 routes left would be a long one :(

Even if it is Kibble You must have a moderately large dog food bill ?

Sunday My brother brought home a 50 % off Perdue Oven stuffer, and Stuffing mix. Since it was a reduced 5 Pound + Chicken it was cooked the same day. Giblet gravy too. Tasty also.
Unfortunately, I say that because I did eat some of it, Turkey, Stuffing, Gibblet Gravy and some butter for taste.

Somedays it pays to scout the Bargain Bins at the ShopRite They have several, One for refrigerated foods such as baked goods, Lunch meats and more, next to rack of discount baked breads and donuts. Back in the meat section a up to 70% off space, By the Deli a section for Deli item Ends.
Oops...I didn’t see your note about me resting. Instead of resting, I’m watching a friend ‘s dog for a few hours today, plus ive agreed to board a 100 pound pitt for a month or two...until a different friend sells her house. 😬

I hope You can get some rest, Is the friend paying a fee or at least providing the food and contact Info for the Vet they use, just in case ?

    Good Luck

    Hi Jan
I am guessing that You do not have Caffeine daily in Your coffee ?

As long as I go to a doctor that takes medicare I am paying nothing. When I was looking at the Supplement plans I chose the best that pays whatever medicare does not pay. That lets me Budget my medical money. I chose Plan F FWIW.
    https://www.humana.com/medicare/products/supplement/medigap-insurance-plan-f
Medicare Supplement Plans F and G. Plans F and G are the only Medicare Supplement insurance plans that cover costs known as Medicare Part B excess charges. An excess charge is the difference between what a doctor or provider charges and the amount Medicare will pay.

Billing ahead, Are You sure You have the right Doctor, that sounds so wrong.

I am guessing that by third supplement You are talking health Coverage ? If so look at what I chose and run the numbers.
Oh yikes on the bring home treat! I could skip the sandwich, but I would fight you for the rest!

I think I am feeding May a little too much. She is spoiled and gets some ground chicken/turkey with hers. Mainly left over from when she did not eat from surgery. Now she is spoiled!

I am still having a spoonful of the Potato Salad, I just could not bring myself to throw it away. OTOH I am working it into my meals where I can compensate for it.

Remember when Chicken and Turkey innards such as Liver were cheap, I suspect the dog would love them too. Chicken backs and Wings used to be cheap too, then the wings were discovered and up went the prices.

It sounds as if Your guess about the snake was correct.

Both my brother and I have a suspicion that kids are being kept stupid and not being taught common sense on purpose.

    Enjoy the Day

Duh...lost my long post when i said “done” rather than “post reply.” My friend brought his food. I won’t accept money from her. She’s selling her house due to financial issues and health issues. She has lupus and just got out of hospital from sepsis. This is how i can help...she doesn’t need to worry about her baby. She knows he’s loved and cared for. This is much easier with the house showings.

    Good Morning!

All interesting articles. Chicago reminds me of the old movie "Escape from New York,' where the whole city was turned into a giant prison where the criminals were left on their own to fend for themselves, and no one ever entered, or left much. They just enclosed the whole area for prison...!

Sorry about your returning that part. I have done that, where someone assumes I have the technology I do not know or have. Frustrating..

Why do you think people are keeping the kids dumb? Control issues at a high level?

I just thought if I had Tricare as my second insurance, the tables says no payments and no money down, I am thinking I am misinformed..or something... :|

Val,that is nice to help your friend out. Sounds like she is having a very rough time..

I wonder if I eat kibble will I save money and lose weight? LOL! :#

Went to bed at 0430 in the morning. I had Starbucks caffeine latte yesterday at 6 pm... Fell asleep after 0530 and got up at 9 am in case the yard guy came. I just finished at 3 pm, I could have slept in!!

Chicken and stuffing sounds so good. But I have my carbs low right now! o:)

    Take care all!! ...Jan

I've thought about people-kibble. I'd try it. I’m feeling very glum. A friend of a friend said hurtful insulting things about me on Facebook. Yes, im 54 years old...but i was taken aback and really hurt. I know I shouldn’t be. I’m choosing to not reacte or respond...my friend needs that lady’s help and saying anything would only come back in her. Im surprised how upset i am. I suppose it is because I thought she was a safe person. My friend who’s selling her house has had 3 showings so far, plus 8 showings set for tomorrow....so that’s looking very hopeful.

    Hi
Oops, Been there and done similar things too.
Ouch, That is tough for Your friend, You are a Good Friend for her.
I've thought about people-kibble. I'd try it. I’m feeling very glum. A friend of a friend said hurtful insulting things about me on Facebook. The only good thing I can get from that is that it was not a direct friend.
My take on social media is that it allows for much to quick posts that go out before any reflection can change them. It also allows for shallow types to post.

I tend to be able to let things roll off my back these days, it has taken many years to get to this point so good luck ignoring that sort of slimy person.

It sounds as if the house should sell, It could also be a indicator that the price is a bit low and bargain hunters are looking or it could be the area is attractive.

    Have a Good Day

Val, I can not imagine someone posting on face book anything derogatory about a friend. That is really awful..That is very wonderful to consider your other friend's situation, as making it more of an issue would be bad at this time. I slept like a rock last nite after so little sleep the night before. I crawled into bed before midnite and slept till 0920 this am. Thank goodness for retirement!!

The $120.00 bill was for the office visit before the colonoscopy in which you get a quick exam, explanation, prep prescription and date for the actual procedure... I think it may be a deductible from Tricare for a specialist, but very confusing as one web site has that, while another has there should be no billing with both. And not all websites can be trusted. Guess I will have to call the dr. and Tricare. There is a chunk of time I will be sitting on hold..lol..What makes it confusing is my cardiologist is a specialist, but I paid only a few 20.00 bills..or less...I will probably die before I get it... :*

    Hi Jan
Venezuela's root problem is that the price of oil had dropped and socialism. Now what I have seen is that it can take 1.5 months income to buy a Kg of Chicken, 2.2 pounds. Inflation is killing the people that have not managed to flee so far.

There have been many eateries in NYC that have been there for many years that have been killed by rent increases sadly.

I'm back home from walking 1 cent. The Temperature out the door was 72 degrees and uncomfortable while walking due to the dew point being in the oppressive range again :(
The rains appear to be gone for the time being and it did dry out somewhat overnight. Parts of NJ had over 4 inches of rain and flooding. This area I am in is located in a large area that was under a flash flood alert. We never see flooding on this street, other parts of town can flood where the roads cross over brooks.

Good morning. I need to read those stories. A congressman who openly hates the country? Satellites that can send microwaves to earth (so...why do they have that capability???). I’m not surprised about the Puerto Rico supplies...but i want whoever was responsible to he held accountable. 1,400 humans died on US soil. I’m still nursing my cold.

And I have a huge issue with passing students that didn’t earn it. Sorry I misread county for country...but clearly that man has a mean soul and should not be in office nor be drinking.
