They are all lies and distortions and half truths anyway for the most part, either party. They could feed the poor, raise teacher's pay or so many other wonderful things rather than having people pay for more fleeting non-substance materials...IMHO...

    Sorry for your humidity. Our dew points are usually in the 70's and 80's, but you expect that, unfortunately... I do not expect it in the northern climes.... :#

    There are Drying Services in this area that dry out a house from water damage, Our one poor neighbor had them there twice in one year :(

    Roger, that was funny about the teacher turned shopper! Mainly because I just sent that article to my daughter on facebook, titled " Jen can shop..." LOL! And she can!

    Teacher salaries are dismal. Yours are higher than Al. but I think your cost of living is higher where you are.....Sorry your raspberries and Melon leaves are getting eaten! :s

    Having water repair people once is bad enough, but 2x in one year is awful!

    I had a good day, tiring. I took the grand-kids for pizza and shopping. I know I should not have napped but I was so tired after. :D I slept from around 5pm and did not wake till around 730 pm. Hence I am wide awake at 2 am...I just was too miserable to stay awake, lol...

    Jenny has me hooked back on playing Farmtown. I just love planting my crops and flowers and arranging my farm on line. I am sure I should be doing work instead but at least there is no humidity on line...I have to help harvest her crops when she goes back to school so I can get extra points doing that. I am at level 37 I think. She is at 380 or so. At least I can use her expertise as I progress. I helped harvest one player that was at level 960. Intricate little game... :#

    There was an interesting article about taxes from the retiring columnist on the Florida Sentinel, I think it was. A real eye opener that we are allowing the 532 or so congress reps hoodwink us millions of voters into higher taxes and penalties instead of them just fixing problems. It was awesome....and true.....

    I'm back from walking and no cents. The Temperature out the door was 75 degrees and uncomfortable walking due to humidity.
    Today the forecast is for rain and since I saw where it had rained lightly before I left, Outbound I was drizzled on for part of the way, Likewise on the return, Not heavy enough to put on the rain poncho thankfully as that would have blocked what little breeze there was. Bottom Line I am going that we already hit the 100% mark for rain today with this mornings weather forecast showing more and heavier rain headed this way. The overnight temperatures did not drop worth a darn as it was 76 at 10PM :(

    You are correct that living expenses are higher in NJ.
    I felt bad for thinking it but when I saw the neighbors having water issues I was thinking better them than I.

    The front yard has recovered from having a large part of it dug up a couple of years ago and that was just due the water company not being able to locate the Curbside shutoff valve. If You remember I had posted pictures of the yard back then.

    Jan-I got a good chuckle about you harvesting other people’s virtual vegetables! It’s good to find enjoyment...especially if it’s free. My online relaxation is Words with Friends. Today i went to the cable company 3 times. Cost increased from $100 to $190 in a couple months so I dropped the phone and cable. I went to return the cable box and adapter...but they pointed out i had brought my DVD player not the cable box; next trip I brought the cable box; then got home and no internet! They accidentally made an error on marking the router as mine vs. theirs so their system needed more info. They were super nice, so although I made 3 trips, i was happy and they were happy...and all worked out!

    I have decided I spend too much time on the game, but I have to admit it is kind of fun, and no bugs either! :)

    Val, the prices of your cable package is terrible. I thought mine was bad when it was reaching $125.00 for a package. I have phone and cable and it has gone from $99.00 to $120.00 in the last three years. I can get the cable added for about $100.00, but they add nearly $30.00 in charges and taxes. I am tempted occasionally to go back , but I know in a year or so it will probably go higher again, I do not want to give them the satisfaction of going back... I miss the news, but that is all... :/ Most of the shows are worthless...

    I find it hard to believe only 1 in 5 millennials have tasted a Big Mac. Vegetarians excluded, What is wrong with these people???? lol! That statistic is not for the South I don't think....

    We had a ton of rain today! That is a very precise meteorological term.... :)

    Roger, you know me and links... I am thinking if you google WSFA news, Montgomery Al you may find the article. It was from the Orlando Sentinel by the way. I will try to find you a link though...

    That was not quite clear, You have Phone and Cable But You can get Cable added for $100 ???

    FWIW The Basic Cable that delivers all the NYC metro area stations is fairly cheap, Don;t they have something available that will give locals cheaply ?

    My bad! I meant to say I have phone and internet. It is now gone up to $100.00 for just the two, it used to be just $60.00. $100.00 is what they used to charge for 3, which included the cable. I dropped the cable as most programming was awful and with taxes and all their mandatory add ons, instead of $100.00 it was becoming like $140.00, which I refused to pay- mainly as I hardly watched most of the channels, like only 5 were regular watching for me...I did not mean to confuse you, it confuses me! One choice here, a monopoly. Dish is about the same price, no real advantage to it. Val's is still much higher!

    I went to a new place to eat today called Fazzolli's. Italian obviously! The most expensive thing is $7.69, which is a taste of everything. ( lasagna, alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs and penne with sauce.) The sandwiches and salad are really good, and the pastas are good too. It is fast food, as you order at the cashier, then they bring it to you. It is not Grandma's all day cooked, but tasty enough, and the meats and cheeses are deli grade. I had the everything, a really good ceasar salad, and a lemon Italian ice. ( think slush.). A fun place...

    Tomorrow I go for a bone density test and mammogram. Not looking forward to it, nor driving to Montgomery to do it. Oh, well... up early to boot! :D

    I live all kinds of potatoes too!! <3

    Southerners eat a lot of fast food, Big Macs included, lol...Funny, they eat lots off old family favorites like the fried chicken, mac and cheese greens, ect.. We just eat alot, I guess.. :#

    The Cable company here seems to be interested in their phone service since Yesterday we had a unanticipated box delivered. Inside is a new Cable modem marked Telephony Modem :wink:

    Cable TV prices have become much to high. A lot of that is out of the control of the cable companies and the Satellite TV companies. It is due mostly to the Carriage fees demanded by the channels and of course taxes and fees from the state.

    Just cable (300MB) is $70 (including taxes and fees). That’s better. I bought a $45 antenna and get PBS on TV. I added news aps on my phone...between that and Roger’s links, I should stay up to date on life. PBS News is great! Calm, informative, and discussion of the issues. Tomorrow Em n I get our annual eye exams.

    Good morning,

    Quite a day. Drove to the Imaging center for my 0930 appt, and I was not in the system. It appears I got the call for another Lee with my birthday. I told them something was wrong when they called as I never go to that imaging center. Did not listen to me...Rescheduled with the Prattville one only 10 minutes away for a couple weeks from now. I had to shop anyway.

    Had a great day till about 7:15 pm tonite. May May waited all day to play ball, and the first throw she started barking something fierce... She found a huge rattlesnake. I thought it would bite her and she would not come away. The closer I got, the bolder May got. I can not believe she did not get bit. I finally used the drop command, grabbed a rake, which was all that was handy, and got her away. By the time I got her in and loaded my gun, and got back out the snake was gone. So May is shut in for now, and I am rather fearfully walking her out for the potty breaks. I have little chance of finding that sucker.. I am not too sure what to do... I hate walking her all the time, but I can not see me just letting her roam... Geez.... I will look tomorrow. Maybe he will show. I am sure he is in the area way dense and too deep for me to venture into. Not a good plan..... :s

    I did have some really good toll house cookies though... :)

    What kind of antenna did you get Val? Do you have one of the newer TV's?

    Hope you did well on your Chinese, Roger! Good articles. Sad about the dog and hampster. :'(

    Thursday I took and scrambled an egg and after pulling it sprinkled some Shredded Cheddar on it a touch of salt and useful as is or in a sandwich.

    We had lunch at the Chinese Buffet, I could have done better :(

    Yesterday was not that great looking, We hit intermittent rain going to and returning from the Chinese Buffet.
    The item I ate the most of was the Beef Broccoli followed by Some Butter Cabbage assorted types of Chicken including wings :smiley:

    Then as the Coup De Grace My NS frozen delivery arrived after 3PM when I was feeling sluggish from the Buffet.

    Hi
    I'm back from walking and once again no cents. The Temperature out the door was 75 degrees and once again very uncomfortable walking due to humidity. I thought I heard rain around 3AM and sure enough when I looked out before heading out I could see where it had rained, not a heavy rain.

    Thursday I took and scrambled an egg and after pulling it sprinkled some Shredded Cheddar on it a touch of salt and useful as is or in a sandwich.

    We had lunch at the Chinese Buffet, I could have done better :(

I hate walking her all the time, but I can not see me just letting her roam... Geez.... I will look tomorrow. Maybe he will show. I am sure he is in the area way dense and too deep for me to venture into. Not a good plan..... :s

    Cookies, at least I have the NS ones, the soft type are a whole cookie per package :(

    I got a free Antenna from the Satellite TV company a while back, Indoors powered type, Reception is a couple of channels out of the many in the area. That means a Moderately expensive rooftop type is needed.
    With the death of the last SDTV last year all of ours are HDTVs, Cheapo non name brand in the 32", 40" and 42" sizes. I decided that if they were a little less durable and not as feature laden as the name brands for the huge savings it was worth the chance. The Cheaper it is the slower it is turning on it seems as if, Slower changing inputs too, OTOH as I have no need, nor do I want a smart TV they fit our needs.

    As You will read above, No I did poorly, Oh well. Now that I have a wide variety of NS foods...
