My General Practioner has continued to say there is nothing that can be done. Perhaps I should see a specialist...at least to confirm that, or possibly have hope. Repeatedly throughout my life I've gone to doctors explaining what hurts and they brush me off. After multiple visits they finally rin a test and are sgocked that something is seriously wrong. Example right rotator cuff....when the jerk finally ordered an MRI...then i needed emergency surgery becyit was completely severed. Because the doctor let it go so long, there was a 50/50 chance that it would never heal. It's good enough but I never regained full shoulder rotation. Thanks for the nudge...I'll get on that.

    Good Morning!

Val, sorry you are still having issues with that hip. That is frustrating enough without having that initial pain reoccurring. Absolutely great suggestions Roger! I sure hope something can be done. If not anything else, I wonder if they could do some nerve block to that area as a last resort. I will be praying for some relief for you! Great job on your continued losing Val, in spite of the pain and crazy schedule!!

Great job walking in the weather, Roger! Glad it has warmed up some for you! We got about 2 inches of rain, which we needed, so that was good. I did not get to bed very early Sat. nite, and got up early for church, so the dogs and I snoozed before small group. Did not accomplish much Sunday at all! :* But it sure felt good!

Chester was really not eating, so I decided to try Rachael Ray's fresh dog food tube in the refrigerated section. He absolutely adores it, and is eating well for the first time in about 5 years, with no cajoling or bribing. Once again, I will have no cans, I love that, less recycling. The food is a little pricey, but if he eats eat, I will do it! It looks like a big old fashioned log of veal bologna with carrots, veggies, and egg. If he lives another 10 years, we can eat it together, it looks that good- and I will be broke by then, lol! :# Dogs, got to love em!

Have a good day all! Feel better Val! ..Jan

Oops, I did it again, more humor posted this morning :)

    Hi
I was out walking today and did 5,600 steps. The temperature this morning was 45 degrees and and there had been rain falling overnight. It had stopped by the time I was out the door.

Currently the rain has stopped falling and is forecast to return later today. I took advantage of the lack of rainfall to stop at the post office and mail some payments off. I put the mail in a plastic bag and hook it over my arm until I get to the P.O., that ensures it stays safe and does not fall out of My pocket.

Today's plan is to keep working on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records.

    Have a Great Tuesday

    Hi Jan
I had heard of that dog food, I have seen a refrigerated case in the ShopRite that had other brands of fresh Dog food for sale. More expensive then some people food :)

You will notice I sort of dog themed the first three images in today's humor, Enjoy.

    Congratulations on Your double achievement.

    Good Morning!

I am losing it! I weeded half my area in the back yard and planted 1/2 of the creeping thyme. It started to rain, so I had to stop and I was going back out. Well, I forgot. And it got dark. So I have wet tools I need to dry. Not so bad, just dumb. And the worst part. May May found my other 3 thyme plants and had a field day with them. Really dumb on my part.... I did recover 2, and I think they might make it, but the third is truly gone. I guess she ate it. I have a dissected container and that is it. I thought I had put it safely in the fenced area, and forgot I had pulled it out doing some last minute raking..Is there a wall I can beat my head against?

The good news is my daughter wants to go to the beach. So I am headed there for Mother's Day week-end. That was why I had forgot to go back, making arrangements as the rooms were going fast. We have not been in about 10 years or more, I am sorry to say. I am really excited about going! Only 3 days, so not too hard on the puppies.

I do hurt in places I forgot I had. Yard work, got to love it! :#

Thanks for the targeted humor!! :) Yes, Chester better realize the sacrifice I am making to give him this dog food!! But it is such a joy to see him eat! o:)

Hey Val! Thanks! I sure do not want to leave the dogs, but a least Chester is eating better, and maybe they will recover from the last visit by then.

Rodger, hope you are doing well! Lots of rain in your area, too, it looks like. I have more yard work to do, it seems never ending. It is a mess after our winter, slight though it was! It does help me in the exercise dept.!

May stuck her head thru the fence, or arm and paw, and grabbed another thyme plant. She ate that. So I planted what I had, lol, which thanks to her, was considerably less.... :|

I feel like Charlie Brown. "Good Grief!" :) Hope you got some walks in and records digitized! Seems weird without your steps and money account! ..Jan :#

    Hello!

Buzy day! Still chilly up that way! Great job walking! A lazy day sounds awfully good! :)

I was out earlier this morning, and had to go to Montgomery. I finished up there and then moved some books, about 200 lbs. worth, to another area in the church. I was really pooped, and I am hoping I can walk Friday! LOL! Then I stopped at the grocery, since both Chester and I were out of major food. I had left without getting breakfast and was starving. I ate some peanuts on the way home, and fixed supper early. So today was a rather easy day, I was either too tired or busy to eat. And got my exercise too!

We are having some storms come thru, but we need the rain. Not severe where I am, not too sure about others. We are expecting strong storms on Monday. We will see. This is certainly a long month. It seems to have more days than 31, :#

Big uproar down here, as a senior wants to take his Grandma who raised him to his Prom. After getting an okay, the principle has changed his mind, and the school board has been brought in. I can't believe....One nice gesture causing such a stink!

Have a great day! Do not work too hard! Jan :)

    Good morning!

You sure did good walking in the rain! We really had a downpour last night. I forgot to check the rain gauge when I fed the birds. It was so cool, and pretty this morning and the sun was just perfectly warm. I think this is Spring again for the third time this year.

I was actually doing okay this morning. I was afraid my back would be out, though I tried to use those good body mechanics. I am still kind of tired, but so far, so good. That was a pleasant surprise. Iplan to work outside a bit, then have some inside chores. I have a "Do List" that is much longer than I would like, and need to at least do 1 or2 things a day! :# I am not the most motivated I could be there. :D

I lost another pound for today, so anything now is new territory! Thanks for noticing the loss, I guess I am finally over vacation and eating out so much! It has been several years since I was in this next ten pound region, and look, no holidays but Easter, and I can bypass the candy so far, so things look good. Isn't optimism great? :#

Thanks for posting more humor! Have a great week-end! Thanks for exhibiting such consistency!! ..Jan.. B)

    Hi Jan
If I said not as good walking yesterday as I would have liked OTOH.

We did not have a downpour it was more of a steady rain, Parts on NJ have had 1 to 3 inches so far.

That is good news Your back is OK. I have a problem with motivation many days too so don't feel bad. There is always Manana AKA Tomorrow :)

As for Easter, You do not have a Traditional Easter Meal? I know my brother is planning a Ham, Mashed Potatoes & Ham Gravy, Likely a Pie and home made whipped cream and more. It will be a low Sodium ham and TBH even the Low Sodium Ham was a bit salty tasting last year.

    Enjoy the New Humor :)

I Noticed You had lost another pound, Congratulations

    Morning! :)

It feels good walking outside and getting some things done. This spring I am the most on time! I have my hoses set, and a plan. I have caught my weeds early, so that is a plus!! I have even put down some grass seed, though that is a work in progress!

I am surprised you did not have sleet! Glad it was rain instead though! I have enjoyed these 2 days home, I sure got a few things done. I am not sure about Easter. My son sometimes had it there if they were home. He has been so busy lately I have barely talked to him. It would be last minute. And ham does give my gout a run for the money. My daughter is still in the wanting to be home, quiet and veg state. I can understand that. I am just happy for the beach trip, and it is Mother's Day for that! Actually, I may be spending it with my friend with brain cancer. She is having chemo, and her husband is wanting to travel to La. for a wedding. So if I am with her, we may plan something. It is a little up in the air for scheduling. She often eats very mindfully, so may not be a problem. We will see. I do have a taste for homemade potato salad. Or I could use sweet 'tators, and add lib. We shall see! :p

Holiday meals were a big deal for my family. When my "former" husband ran off, they have dwindled. They are not an important thing to my daughter-in law. She has problems she has not wanted to address. Her bout with cancer has given her the excuse to not face any of it, and the ready excuse she is not up to anything when it suits her. I do understand her, but I am trying to be the bigger more adult person here and not let it interfere with my son and her. She does stuff with her family, but not ours, unless the kids have a birthday or it is Christmas or Thanksgiving. She is very controlling on how I can do for the family. Of course, the divorce and betrayal did not help as she had really loved my "former" spouse. She truly is not fond of the fallen, Christian though she is, lol! Some friends from church may be on their own, too, so I will be somewhere in all likelihood! They did pretty much save my life. I hate saying "ex", it is used to much and casually and usually with some probably justified attitude. I may still have an small issue there, lol! :*

Off to read humor, and fix my ferns. I think I lost one. Bummer! Enjoy the rest! Jan B):)

I saw this on a link on that page. I was thinking that is nice of them.
Chick-fil-A announced that they're offering free breakfast for carpoolers in Atlanta from April 3-14.

and then there was this one in a similar vein on yesterdays news from New York City.
    https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20170330/astoria/free-dry-cleaning-unemployed-interview-outfit-nicoles-cleaners-2852-34th-street

Jaime Jinete, owner of Nicole's Cleaners in Astoria.

ASTORIA — A dry cleaner in the neighborhood is offering to clean interview outfits, free of charge, for unemployed job seekers who need it.

Jaime Jinete, the owner of Nicole's Cleaners on 34th Street just off 30th Avenue, said he started the deal earlier this year as a way to give back to the community — or, as he puts it, "just to give people hope."

"Sometimes someone probably has to make a decision whether you clean your suit or you get a MetroCard to go to that interview," the 41-year-old business owner said. "I can't get you a MetroCard, but I can help with the suit or an outfit."

More details on that page including a picture.

    Have a Great Sunday

    Hi Jan
Getting a jump on those fast growing weeds is always a plus.

I mainly find that I am not happy with the water weight that Ham puts on me and I do tend to overeat at a Holiday Meal.

The Waterways are still running high from the previous soaker and more rain moves in tonight into tomorrow with a prediction of ponding on the roads and localized flooding in the low lying areas.

I was planning on going to the Acme tomorrow when My Brother is out for cases of spring water Through Thursday they have cases of 24 1/2 liter on sale at a good price for this area of 4 for $8.88 or $2.22 each and since it can sit without spoiling why not take advantage of it.

    Hi Jan
Thank You for the kind words, I keep chasing Chalmations log in count and never catch up :)

I have hit plateaus too, I found that keeping going and not letting it bother me worked for that. Only once the first year did I end up calling NS to see what to do and when they looked at my food diary they found that I had been low on calories for a while and taking their advice to get the calories up worked.

Your consistency as noted on the home page here is the key.

Learn what zig-zagging your calories does and compute a sample week of zig-zags. Zig-zagging is a nutrition method for fat loss and muscle gain.

These numbers are generic guidelines. Some people may require much higher calories to drop weight, or much lower calories to gain weight. Every person is different! The calculator has a lower limit of not less than 8x your body weight in calories - this is what I use with my clients.

The way it works IMO is You go higher one day and lower another so that the calories for the week are what You should be eating for weight loss. The theory is that this way Your body experience changes on a day to day basis. It is also a good way to have a cheat food now and then without feeling guilty :)

BTW Nothing wrong with bread my brother buys a whole wheat that is 40 calories a slice and it tastes good and toasts well too. I have stolen a couple of slices in the past and cooked a egg to go on it to have as a SC + PF. I had it both fresh and toasted with a really light smear of real butter for taste.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!

I had no phone or internet for most of the day due to storms. I guess a flying trampoline knocked out some power as well as did heavy rains. I had a Dr appt. but she was sick. They could not get hold of anyone, so I used the trip to go to Lowes instead and bought some potting soil (on sale!) and rosemary and dill. Tuesday, I can just recycle, hopefully.

I am not surprised your waterways were running higher. Good you got out for your steps! I am counting some exercise that is more heavy duty for motivation. I liked the zig zag idea in the article. I don't eat that many calories to lose, but I am sure I could work out the same principle at my level or a bit above. I will try that! Thanks! :)

I am not ready to quit like sometimes, I will just be glad to get any below my present weight. It is always a stumbling block that I usually start yo yo-ing in my commitment! Just that little bit of bread yesterday is giving me a craving for a McDonald's cheeseburger of all things, lol! Maybe I can work that in for a lunch!

Loved the humor! It is a highlight! Take care! ..Jan
