Ah, we had to do that in our old house too....lots of squeaking!
The free floating interlocking laminate is what we used too. Some of the corners were a little difficult,
but otherwise not too bad to install. It's a lot of work to get the tile up and get everything cleaned,
nailed down, and ready. But a worthwhile project. :)

    Hi Vix
We do have a Cordless Drill that I plan to use to put screws in, They should never loosen :)
The Squeaking bothers me, I'm not sure why but it does. I'm glad to hear that the process worked for You, That
makes me feel better. How did the Interlocking Laminate hold up?

    Thanks You

    Hi all

Just a short "hi" since I'm about to go to sleep even though I'm fighting it.

Watered the plants since we had a 10% chance of rain and then it poured.

Heat index 84 at 10:20. Extended forecast looks good.

Tomorrow pick up groceries at Walmart "drive through". I'll let you know how it goes.

E, I'm glad your PUTs helping.

    Take care.

    Hi Lynmar
I had that happen this past summer too, If I watered the Garden than it rained, if I did not since there was rain
in the forecast, You guessed it no rain or a light drizzle :)

    Good Luck at Walmart

    Enjoy the day, everyone...goodbye 2015!

If I had Lynmars weather I would be out walking before Sunrise in a t-shirt and Walking shorts :)

    Hi.

In case I don't make it in tomorrow. Happy New Year! Expecting to have at least two dogs
spend the night in bed with me. Will need to catch up on my sleep after they get up for the morning.
This is the only time I wish I had small dogs instead of the 60s, 90 and 120 pounders and a double bed.

    Have a good day!

    Hi Again
Around here it gets noisy at Midnight on New Years Eve between the people Shooting off guns into the air,
Home Fireworks and small rockets. I passed more than one Burned out rocket on the street during this morning walk.

Is it the noise that You expect to put the dogs in bed?

Cheers, I hope You got enough sleep

    Hi all,
Roger...the laminate was great! It is very easy to clean, ours didn't mar or scuff, took a lot of traffic and I never did notice any wear and tear. I think we used one of the less expensive brands. We just had Pergo XP installed in our basement. It's supposed to be really tough, not wear, stain, etc with a limited lifetime waranty. https://na.pergo.com/pdfs/warranty/pergoxp_warr_web3.pdf

    Hi all

Hurray! It's supposed to be rainy the next two days but worth it because fantastic cooler weather is coming. Below 80 all but about three days until at least mid month.

Roger, my 90lber is afraid of the fireworks and practically sleeps on top of me.

When I bought this house over 10 years ago I pulled up all the new carpeting and put down tile. The grout could use professional strength cleaning but otherwise is doing well. I do need something in the bathroom to replace the linoleum.

Take care. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Lynmar, glad it's cooling off for you. I couldn't take all that really hot weather. It got up to the low 40s today, which I still find comfortable.
Roger, I like the laminate better than tile or linoleum, and it is much easier than wood floors too. :)
Have a good night, everyone. :)

    Hi Lynmar
and today it is supposed to hit the low 40s, it was 23 degrees outside when I woke up and checked the weather to see what to wear on my walk.

I think I would have left the carpet is if was new until it needed cleaning and then replaced it, I may have mentioned I am frugal? :)

Professional cleaning or hands and knees with a toothbrush to clean the grout :)

    Cheers

    Hi Vix
Low 40s would be OK if that was around the clock or overnight. I found the 23 degrees to be a bit nippy, Luckily no breeze.

FWIW I have found that with the weight lost so far I did tolerate the summer heat better.

    Cheers

    Hi

Down to 50ish tonight. Hurray. Guess I have to change out of my very short sleeve nightie. I still wouldn't
    mind N. C. weather.

Roger, don't know if I mentioned it but my father was from New Jersey.

    Have a good day.

    Hi Lynmar
If You mentioned that I do not recollect it being mentioned :)

I'd be happy with 50ish overnight temperatures.

It was 30 when I got up and is forecast to slowly drop during the day. The Wind Chill when I did get out walking was 18 degrees. Be happy with what You have, there goes the gas part of my Energy Bill. We get the Gas and Electric from PSE&G and they come on the same bill.

    Have a Good Week

I have been at 100% +/- a couple of % points since I have been flexing slightly. Still it does seem to be working for me.

IMO it is nigh unto impossible to eat out or Party and not overdo it.

Oh, Roger....I meant to remind you of the telephone game....I'm sure you played it when you were a kid....we used to get a bunch of kids in a circle, and then someone would start and whisper something to the kid next to them...you'd go all around the circle, and the last one would say the word out loud....it was always something completely different. And we'd all laugh hysterically at the changes.
I have a massage this afternoon. Yay. My therapist has been on vacation, so it's been a month. Really looking forward to it. :)
    Enjoy your day. :)

Re: the Telephone game, I never heard or played it and I just queried my brother and he never heard of it either. It must be a regional game?

Haha...don't think you're that much older than I am. :) I went to a public school, maybe it was a public school thing. oh well....next time you're with a big group of people you should try it, it's still funny after all these years. :) (Probably even funnier with hearing loss! :p)
Sun is shining, yay!, but yikes, it's cold!!! 12 going up to 31 today. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I have clay class....put on a heavy sweater, knee socks and furry lined booties, will definitely wear the winter coat, gloves and a scarf!

    Hi Vix
very cold here too, It is a little strange that it is supposed to be warmer here than where You are. Strangely enough I am fine in my 7 pocket walking pants and a Long sleeved shirt with a heavy Sweatshirt in this type of weather. Even my feet feel fine in socks and my normal New Balance walking shoes. I feel it first in the fingers and then if breezy on my face even if I pull up the hoody.

    Stay Warm

    Hi

I played that game and I've always lived down here so not regional. Haven't played it in about 20 years so can't remember what it was called.

We'll be back in the 80's by week's end. That's why I like N. C. weather better. Plus even in summer you needed a light blanket at night. I couldn't handle your weather. Much too cold. I've only seen snow twice. Once here and once an inch in Tennessee. Plus there are no woods down here any more. Much too developed.

E, I know you enjoyed the massage.

    Have a good day.

Hi...it was cold again this morning, but warmed up to mid 30s this afternoon and sunny, not bad. It would probably bother me more if I had to stay out longer, but I don't. :)
Couldn't stand hot weather all the time. I would probably just stay in the air conditioning...yet, I love going into a sauna for 10 or 15 minutes! Nice and hot! :) Went to the gym, PT and the mall today, hubs had to return a sweater he bought that was too short for him. Kind of filled up the whole day.
Have a good evening, everyone. :)

Hi all....I don't mind the cold so much as long as I don't have to be out there very long. I got some nice comfy, furry boots that keep my feet warm, which is most of the battle, so I'm good to go. :)

    Hi all

Roger, when it snowed here it was in the papers all over the country. It was the first and last time it has ever happened. By the way, it was a week after my mother died. :o

Went grocery shopping today. Walked up and down the aisles in half the store. I'll see how my foot does tomorrow. Even if I just stand on it a couple of hours it's bad the next day.

    Have a good day.

That rare for snow. You must really be south.

I am sorry to hear about the foot still bothering You. As advanced as medicine has become You would think they could fix most anything as long as You can get to the hospital.

    Good Luck with the foot

I wonder if that is the rain they say could move in tonight after 7PM. Northwest NJ had a alert for possible icing or freezing drizzle starting then.

    Hi Vix
I am slightly afraid of Tomorrow, it might be drizzly according to the weather forecasts, more-so Sundays weather. I will say it was not comfortable walking this morning. I made the mistake of only going by the thermometer and not checking the local weather or I would have dressed a little more warmly. There was a breeze blowing for much of the walk.

    Have a Good Evening

    Hi Roger,
I'm not out there walking in it! It's misty, foggy, drizzly again today 39F right now supposed to be going up to 48F. I guess it's probably a little cooler in NJ. I really haven't gotten back to my walks yet. We'll walk around the mall or something like that, and if the weather's really nice I will walk around my neighborhood. I'm hoping by the Spring, my legs will be back up for it! The Pt is helping and I am doing much better. My neck is still a mess, but they're working on it. Apparently I hold tension in many areas I never even thought about!
Hope you have a pleasant walk. :)
Have a great day, everyone. :)

    Hi. Thank you.

Roger, I don't live that far south. West Palm Beach. 90ish miles north of Miami.

E, I hope you get to feeling better.

I spent yesterday morning in an urgent care office. I had a blood vessel in my left thigh (again -same leg as all the foot problems). Swelling was a perfect fit for my palm and bruising covered entire width of back of leg. So, once again, I'm back to partially sedentary.

You're both welcome down here if the cold is too much for you. :) Temp up to 80 again today then rainy tomorrow when your next front comes through. It was so foggy when I got up at 5 this morning I couldn't even see across the street.

    Have a good day.

Lynmar, I am so sorry you are having so much trouble with your leg. Sounds painful. I hope the urgent care physicians were able to get you some relief. And I hope you start feeling better soon.
I'm doing ok...I'm much better than I was. I know I wouldn't be happy if I couldn't get around. I've got some home exercises to keep working on my legs, hips, and lower back, and the PT staff is continuing to work on my neck (and to a lesser degree my lower half, which was priority when I first went in because I was limping!). Jeez, this getting old stuff is getting old! :p
I wish you a speedy recovery.
Have a good day, everyone. :)
