    Good morning.
Glad you liked the cabinets, Irene. Can you post a picture of them? Good that your knee is better. :)
Jo, sorry the bird house fell apart. A piece broke off one of my clay ones, but I'm going to glue it back together with gorilla glue and see if that holds.
Hi Roger. Gotta watch that pollution. Have a nice walk this morning.
    Happy Weekend, everyone. :)

Once more with the Humor :)

    Hi
I did some walking once again, The temperature this morning was 76 on the news channel and 72 degrees on the front porch.
It was semi pleasant walking this morning with humidity still in the uncomfortable range.
We had a thunderstorm roll through yesterday afternoon and another one this morning Before I went walking for my coffee. It appears that there was a lot of rain overnight. I did get hit with a couple of drizzles while walking, They were not enough to make me put on the disposable rain poncho.

It just seems like some people have gone wack-a-doodle with this one.

Fido And Fluffy Are Ruining The Environment, UCLA Study Says
America's beloved dogs and cats play a significant role in causing global warming, according to a new study by UCLA.
By Paige Austin (Patch Staff) - Updated August 3, 2017 3:14 pm ET
LOS ANGELES, CA — When it comes to global warming, Fido and Fluffy are part of the problem, a new study by UCLA indicates.

Most cat or dog lovers would say they can't imagine living in a world without pets, but as the threat of global warming increases, environmentally conscious pet lovers may need to make some tough choices, according to the study.

Pet ownership in the United States creates about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, UCLA researchers found. That's the equivalent of driving 13.6 million cars for a year. The problem lies with the meat-filled diets of kitties and pooches, according to the study by UCLA geography professor Gregory Okin.

Hi, the Baltimore police are not all shining examples. I'm sure there are some good ones, and it is a rough place to be a police officer. There are some nice things/events in the city, but there is also decay and negative things going on. I think a lot of our cities are like that. I tend to avoid a lot of cities! I don't think I would have thought twice about it when I was young, cities were fun. Now they're more of a hassle. Nice to visit once in a while.

    Hi
I agree, the negative press and from what I can see with a Anti police attitude from the mayor...

I used to go to NYC either by car or Bus when I was a lot younger. Broadway Plays and Nice food and a huge selection of movies available. No longer with the prices for Broadway, toss in the cost of the crossings from NJ to NYC and the expensive parking, No Thanks. These days New York City looks more like a overflowing Cesspool.

I doubt that anywhere in the USA that the pollution is as bad as in parts of Chine, Russia used to have bad pollution under the communists, now days I am not sure.
There is a image here that shows just how bad the pollution is in Beijing
    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/apr/06/air-pollution-beijing-china-smog-britain
Beijing, formerly Romanized as Peking, is the capital of the People's Republic of China and the world's third most populous city proper. It is also one of the world's most populous capital cities.

I think I would use Epoxy as the cement it is really strong and sets quickly too.

    Good afternoon;
Roger-I have had no problems with the progressive eye glasses and I am prone to motion sickness. Congrats on the 10cents.
The birdhouse that my little birds were in fell apart. I found it on the ground and the roof still attached to the bracket that it was on. There was nesting material on the ground, but I saw no evidence of the birds. :(
Vix-Most cities are like that because they are more populated.
    Hi Joanne
I hope the birds inside were OK....
Lucky You that the glasses do not bother You. He also tried Trifocals and hated them too.

hi all, Well George put the cabinets together they are really nice he wants me to order 5 more that should do it for the storage in the basement this way we can do away with the boxes and it will look really nice. Well I did get my walk in and I got some swimming in since it is so hot and humid out it felt good. I did do my food shopping plus stopped and did my banking and stopped and got a new pair of shoes they are the skecher's go max they are so nice I got a pair last year I just love them. Can you believe it will be a year on Tuesday that I had my knee replacement so glad I am doing better. Roger congrats on finding the 10 cents. Jo I wear no line which is really nice. Vix I am a country girl not crazy about big cities and you do get the good with the bad.

    Hi Irene
It sounds as if they affordable too if he wants five more :)

I got out yesterday and did the running around myself. Today I stopped at the Post Office and mailed off a Bill during my walk. I out the mail in a plastic Grocery bag and hang it off of my elbow on the way there. That way it stays in good condition vs being in a pocket where it could get bent or damaged.

    Thanks for the cabinet feedback
Congratulations on the walking and swimming too

    Good morning.
Going to meet the family and go to the county fair this afternoon. There's an antique car show and some of my paintings will be on exhibit. Looks like it's going to be another beautiful summer day.
The gorilla glue worked fine, and I hung the birdhouse out in the tree again. :)

    Good morning;
Vix-Have fun at the fair and good luck with your paintings.
I worked midnight to 4am. I fed the cats and made coffee when I got home. I tried to take a nap but only managed about 45 min. So I decided to clean my kitchen, walls, floors counters. As I was putting everything back in place, I dropped the coffee pot on the floor. It shattered and as there was still a little coffee in it, I had a big mess to clean up. Luckily I had a replacement pot in the basement.
It is sunny,72 and no humidity. I have all the windows open.
    Enjoy this beautiful day. :)

Some more Humor today has been posted

    Hi
I did some walking once again, The temperature this morning was 64 on the news channel and 61 degrees on the front porch.
It was semi pleasant walking this morning with humidity still in the uncomfortable range.

While out walking I stopped for 20 minutes and had two Eggs, Rye Toast and a few of the Home Fries :)
That will be my entire mornings food.

I'm a little behind posting this info...
Thursday I went to add some things to the iPod and no luck. So I tried uninstalling several ways one of which was the Apple way that uninstalls many things, in addition I removed all the left behind apple folders. Nope, Then I tried doing all that again plus editing every reference to Apple and Itunes in the Registry using built-in to windows a Microsoft tool and still no joy. Finally three hours later I threw in the towel and called Apple support :)
It turned out to be a unchecked box that I had never touched. My guess is that the latest upgrade may have done it.

Now that I was able to put the new items into the iPod I am currently listening to Niven's 4 book Dreampark Scf-Fi series while walking having finished his Ringworld Sci-Fi series.
    If interested https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_Park
    More info from the link
Dream Park is a 1981 novel written by Larry Niven and Steven Barnes set in a futuristic amusement park of the same name. It was later expanded into a series of books.

The books describe a futuristic form of live action role-playing games (LARPs), although the term was not in use when the original novel was published. The novels inspired many LARP groups, notably the International Fantasy Games Society, named after a fictional entity in the book.[1] A company by the name of Dream Park was founded in the mid-1990s to try to realize as much of Dream Park as possible, but eventually went out of business.[citation needed]

The Dream Park novels were written by Larry Niven and Steven Barnes. The novels set in Dream Park are:

Dream Park (1981) - Locus Award nominee, 1982[2]
    The Barsoom Project (1989)
    The California Voodoo Game (1992)
    The Moon Maze Game (2011)

The Dream Park series is set in a near-future Earth, the first book taking place in March 2051. Technology is used to create realistic games in which participants act out the roles of free-willed protagonists in various stories. These are role-playing games and foreshadowed many aspects of modern live action role-playing games.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird for email...
Many Emails I hold the Shift key while hitting the delete key for permanent deletion. If not sure I only use the delete key and they go to a trash folder, just in case. Others I archive in a new folder within Thunderbird.

I also use a program called "MozBackup" That Backs up all the Content and settings etc. Customizable as to what You want to Back. I use it to back up FireFox and Thunderbird into two backups that can also be used to move everything to a new computer, restore the firefox backup for example and The favorites and save passwords are and add ins are ready to go in the new install, likewise with the Thunderbird backups.

    Have a Great Sunday

Good Luck at the Chinese, a local chinese location has a special Diet section that has nice selections and puts the sauce on the side. Major fail on their part is that they also include a pint of rice if You get it as takeout.

Tonight I think I may have a NS Margherita Pizza for dinner along with vegetables and some sort of protein.

    Hi Joanne
I have been there and done that with one of the coffee makers in the past, luckily a left over pot from the previous coffee maker worked. If I did that with the current one I would have to get an exact replacement as the coffee maker is designed to shut off the flow from the coffee grounds holder when You pull the coffee pot as it is brewing. A much improved design from the old ones where You had to put something under it to catch the coffee if You removed the pot.

    Have a Nice Day

Jo, sorry you had a mess to clean up....I don't know how you manage your schedule!
Irene, sounds like a nice day.
Roger, the gorilla glue works pretty fast. I held it on for a couple of seconds, maybe half a minute. Then I let it sit and dry/cure for a couple of hours, and it was ready to go back outside.
It was a nice day. Fun meeting the kids at the fair. There was an antique car section, those are always fun. Lots of farm animals, rides, food places, 4-H exhibits, etc. One of my paintings won 4th prize in it's class. I was happily surprised.

Thank You for the Feedback, I had been wondering how good it really was after seeing all the advertisements during TV shows.

I have been partial to Epoxy since I used it at work when I had to rebuild Parts of a Laptop that had broken. The plastic that holds inserts in the base for example.

It sounds as if it were good day. Congratulations on the 4th place.

As far as I can tell, epoxy is waterproof, some glues are not, it depends on the type of glue. Exterior vs Interior glues.

The day didn't turn out like I thought weather wise. It is a gray, gloomy day.
I cleaned the bedroom this morning and rearranged the furniture, I then ran a few errands and had a pedicure.

Prof lets students choose own grades for 'stress reduction'
on Aug 07, 2017 at 11:34 AM EDT
A University of Georgia professor has adopted a “stress reduction policy” that will allow students to select their own grades if they “feel unduly stressed” by the ones they earned.
Similarly, students who feel stressed by "group dynamics" are allowed to walk away from their groups without explanation, and will only be graded on "non-group work."
The professor acknowledges that "this policy might hinder the development of group skills and mastery of the class material," but says this is each student's own responsibility.

According to online course syllabi for two of Dr. Richard Watson’s fall business courses, he has introduced the policy because “emotional reactions to stressful situations can have profound consequences for all involved.”
