Good morning!
Irene...I always kept a notebook/journal too, good to keep track of certain things. They're probably making sure people are ready for the holiday crunch.
Jo, sounds like you had a nice day. Glad your car is fixed.
Roger, you're probably out walking and voting....good man!
I've got clay class today, the sun is shining and it's supposed to go up to 70 degrees. Should be a good one.
Enjoy!0 -
Hi
I walked today, again
Four Stops, 1really beat-up Penny, Post office, 7 Eleven for the Ex-large Refill, Polling place to Vote, then to the Bank to make a deposit.
Have a Nice Election Day
RogerFunny thing, I put a little bit of a heel shoe (about an 1.5-2") and it feels better than with the sneakers. We'll see. These things come and go with me. I know it's temporary, just a bit disconcerting. I'll probably take a week to get used to the time change too. Will definitely try to get to bed earlier tonight.Joanne3366 wrote: »Good evening;

Hubby and I were both off. We went out to breakfast, ran some errands and then home to work around the house.
It usually takes me about a week to adjust to the time change. The cats also need some time to adjust. They still want to be fed an hour earlier.
Vix-I hope your leg feels better soon.
Irene-glad you are enjoying training, it is good to switch things up from time to time.
Roger-car is all fixed. I had to help with the belt,as 4 hands were needed. I found 11 cents while walking to my car today.
Have a good evening.IreneMurman wrote: »good morning, I didn't train yesterday no one to train will probably be doing it on wednesday, managers at work are writting people up like crazy one came to me yesterday and wanted to know why my rate was down last week I guess he didn't know I trained for 2 days but I always keep track with a little note book just to cover my butt not sure what is going on but they really are up setting a lot of people I guess they must be getting a lot of grief oh well I do what I can take care all

Hi Joanne
If I said I have been off for years?
You are 10 cents ahead of me today, I only found 1 cent and not eleven cents. It was beat up I had to Pick it up and look at it to be sure it was really money.
Good That the Car is finished

Hi Irene
Good Job with keeping as journal. Nothing Like being able to have written material to refer to.
And then in today's news I saw where Amazon is extending maternity leave, It sounds as if One hand takes and the other gives

Hi Again
Yup I sure was, I was out the door late as I had to make sure not to get to the bank before they opened at 9AM. I was Number 18 to vote in my part of the district, My Brother was Number 15 and still standing there talking. Supposedly we had more Voters by the time I got there around 9AM than voted in the entire Primary.
Enjoy The clay class and the Weather

Good afternoon
Irene-It must be that time of year. Management is really cracking down at my work. They are also cutting hours and adding more work.
I stopped at the store to pick up some curtains. I got home, took them out of the package, ironed the wrinkles out, went to hang them and they are way too long. I don't know what I was thinking when I picked them up. So now I have to return them. This will be the 3rd time I have bought and returned in the last week or so. They will hate to see me come back in the store.
Have a nice evening and enjoy this nice weather.0 -

Good morning.
Irene, sounds like you really enjoy the teaching and coaching! That's great. One month isn't so bad.
Jo, sorry the curtains didn't work out. I don't like shopping....sometimes end up grabbing something because of the color or something then realize it's the wrong size when I get it home, or pick the size, then realize the color is off! Whatever. Good luck finding the right ones.
Roger, you have very productive walks!
Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day. Yay!0 -
Hi
Walked today and Picked up 6 Nice looking Apples
Currently over 8600 Steps according to the Fitbit.
Todays weather was once again really nice. Started out in a sweatshirt, 1/4 of the way through the walk It was off hanging on my arm as I walked. Supposed to be some rain in the forecast Thursday & into Friday. It does not look like much currently from what the forecast is showing.
Have a Nice MidWeek Day

RUSTON, LA --
After more than 45 years of saving pennies, a Louisiana man decided it was time to cash them in.
The News-Star reports that 73-year-old Otha Anders, of Ruston, took 15 5-gallon plastic water jugs full of the coins to the bank on Tuesday. His grand total: A deposit of $5,136.14 into his account. He says it will go toward a recent dental bill.
Anders says that after his first coin, his penny pile began to grow, so he ultimately stopped spending pennies. He says he made sure that in any purchase, his change contained at least three to four pennies.
During the five-hour process of counting the pennies, the plastic jugs were hacked open with an ax and hammer.
The pennies were then poured into the coin machine with small plastic buckets.Joanne3366 wrote: »Good afternoon

Hi Joanne
It seems everybody is getting tough at work from what I am seeing here.
I wonder if the store does what Best Buy was reported to be doing and tracking customers by returns and rating them?
Good Luck

Hi Irene
IT does sound as if Coaching is a nice break in Your routine. More than a month of 55 hour weeks is never fun. I hope You can find a use for the extra OT money. I know I would use it to avoid Christmas Bills that need to be paid later and or pay off any credit cards and if I had a Mortgage to reduce the principal.
Have a day

I'm with You regarding shopping. I seem to end up with things like pocketless t shirts when I wanted Pocket Ts etc. Or as You say the colors or patterns are not to good.

Good evening;
Roger and Irene-The company I work for just bought out A&P stores in the NJ area. They spent the last two week converting them over to Acme. I am not sure exactly where they are located. If I remember I will ask at work tomorrow.
Vix-I never made it to the curtain store. My car battery was dead when I left work and I had to get a jump from one of my co-workers. I was afraid to shut off my car, so no errands, just straight home. I am waiting for hubby to get home, so he can check it out. I think I may need a new battery. My car is 5 years old.
Have a good night.0 -
When I was young and living in NJ, there were A&P stores and Acme stores. We don't have either in MD as far as I know.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to hire the cleaning service for once a month. It's kind of expensive, but I could use a little help. She was nice, she said my house looked clean...I try to keep up with it. Then in the spring, I can have them clean the windows too. I'll sleep on it. I think I'll feel the same tomorrow. I don't splurge on a lot of things.
Have a good night everyone.0 -
good morning running late so I will talk to you later0

Good morning all.
Busy day today. Art class in a.m., then off for my 3rd RA infusion.
Foggy this morning, but supposed to warm up again.
Have a great day!0 -
Hi
I ended up walking 3 miles today, longer than planned + One battered Dime.
A really Nice day if You exclude the Light Mist and Drizzle for the first part of it, I used the umbrella for about 5 minutes and that was it. I went out in a Thin Long Sleeve Shirt and it was getting warm by the end of the day
Have a Great Thursday

Hi Joanne
We had an A&P, Pathmark, Acme in town at one time. I think the nearest A&P now is up the Hill from me. It Looks like What will be left is now The Acme that has been there what seems like forever.
Five years is around the time for a car battery to go ten toes up so You could be right that You need a new battery. Other causes would be the charging system, IE Alternator, Belt is off or loose or a bad Connection to the Battery, or Battery cable, Cable is not likely these days however I wonder how old the battery is in my car, hmmm....
Cheers

Hi Vix
We also had Grand Union stores, Now we seem to be down to Shop & Shop, ShopRite, Kings, Acme and a few smaller chains.
If You can afford it why not, If I felt we could splurge on a cleaning service I would be pushing it. However We need a New Side Porch, Rugs or Flooring or resurfacing the hardwood under the rug in the Living Room and Probably 4 More energy efficient Windows in the Bedrooms.
Cheers

Foggy here too this morning earlier on. Now Just off and on Drizzle

Roger, I really can't tell if the infusions are working or not because of the fibromyalgia and the degenerated spine...I don't know which causes what! I was hoping it would help with all of it. But they took blood tests and I have an appt with the doc in 2 weeks, so he should be able to tell if it's doing me any good. Else, I guess we'll try something else. hobble on!0

Good afternoon,
Vix-good luck with the cleaning service. I am jealous.
It was pretty nice here today, we will probably get the rain tomorrow. We seem to be a day behind weather wise.
Roger-I am getting a new battery this weekend, better safe than sorry. I found a penny today, while doing the laundry.
Hi Irene.
Enjoy your evening.

Good morning!
Hobbled through zumba and sat in the sauna for a few minutes....the sauna is nice. I'm going to do that more regularly. I'll probably call the cleaning service today and set up a time. I'll start with once a month and see how it goes.
Jo, good to make sure the battery is working.
Somewhat cloudy today, but it's nice and warm, supposed to chill up tomorrow. Might as well enjoy it while we can.

Hi
Walked today, It was 67 Degrees and damp outside when I left. The Streets were wet but I never saw any precipitation. 9,000 steps so I walked further than I planned to

Hi Vix
It sounds as if it is not doing what You hoped for or only minimally, I hope they find something that works for You. Insurance is covering it I hope.
Some days I feel like hobble on applies to me for some of my walking. Especially towards the end of the walk.
Good Luck

Hi Irene.

Hi Joanne
I think I am lazy regarding laundry, I have maintained a large supply of clothes so I can go 7 to 10 days and still have a reserve before washing them. One Benefit of a large capacity Washing Machine. One Downside of that is that when I need to downsize clothing since starting NS I donate lots of things.
I would want a new battery too, if it failed in warm weather what would it do when the cold weather saps it?
Still no Sun breaking through here. The Rains mainly missed us yesterday and today. I think the highest Rainfall For Thursday was 0.02 inches
Cheers

So far, treatment has been disappointing, but I guess I'm not getting any younger, darn the luck. Definitely could not afford the treatments...actually the pharmaceutical company is covering most of it, I just had to give up my privacy to them, no biggie as the Chinese have all my records anyway!
The temps actually went up to 77 today, but it was pretty cloudy all day, and drizzled for about 3 seconds.
Went to a mall to see if I could find a new coat, but nothing really looked that great, so I can use my coat from last year unless and until I find something better. At least I got out and walked around. Relaxation only for the rest of the evening.
Have a good night, everyone.0 -
Good evening,
Weather here was warm and breezy today.
Work was busy today, we were supposed to have a visit from the district manager and all the dept. specialists.
When I left work at 1:00 they still haven't arrived.
Vix-I am sorry that the treatments are not working as you hoped.
Hubby bought me a new battery yesterday, so hopefully I am all ready for winter.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning.
Glad your car is set for winter, Jo. I think I need an oil change, may do that today.
So far very overcast today.
I have a baby shower to go to tomorrow...that should be really fun...it's my daughter's sister-in-law. My daughter is going to be an aunt.
Making plans to see the Nutcracker in Baltimore in December...that should be nice too.
Have a great day, everyone.0 -
Good morning;
Vix-I have never seen the Nutcracker. My niece was in it for a few years here in Boston.
Baby showers are always fun, such a joyful time.
Today is my late start at work 11:00. So far this morning I have washed the kitchen floor, did a load of laundry,
washed all my waterford by hand(boy was it dusty), and worked on some computer stuff.
Hi Roger and Irene.
Enjoy your day.

Jo, you are so industrious! I've sipped coffee this morning and wandered about on the computer!

Hi
It is a sort of gloomy looking day outside, Not rainy just cloudy. It was showing in the 60s when I got up this morning and is still showing 65 degrees Not that bad a set of temperatures. I have not gone walking yet, I may just take the day off

Hi Vix
I am sorry to hear that the treatments are disappointing you. I know You had high hopes. Is it a Trial or just a bargain program?
Call me Cheap or Frugal or ?? However I still have the same coat from many years ago. I may have to replace it soon as the cuffs are starting to get frayed. OTOH I do not go anywhere fancy where I feel a need for stylish and spiffy. This one is utilitarian. Sort of a Military color and look. Two pockets on each side, One has a flap and then the other is open and sits behind the pocket with the flap and a fake leather looking collar.
Cheers

Hi Again
In my case Oil changes are done by time and not mileage. Even then I stretch them as It gets used maybe once a week on the average. I am due to fill the gas tank, It is now under 1/2 and has not been done in several months, July or August As I recollect it
Enjoy the Baby Shower

Hi One more time
I made coffee this morning since I did not get out walking and drank too much. It is a 10 cup pot and less than 2 cups left in the Pot. I hope I sleep tonight
BTW You are ahead of me in the Ballet count. OTOH I may be ahead in Broadway Plays as B'way is a hour+ Bus/train ride away. I used to go to NYC,NY in the Morning, stooge around and pick up whatever bargain tickets were available to see. That was how I saw the King & I w/ Yul Brynner, Evita, Oh Calcutta, Best Little W****House in Texas w/Mickey Rooney, Hair, Godspell and more.
Cheers

Good morning.
I lived in Nutley, NJ when I was young...it was easy to catch a bus into NYC. We used to do the same, wait on line for matinee 2fers or whatever other bargain tickets there were. That was long long ago. I haven't been to any shows other than a couple of stand up comedians, in ages.
Sunny day today....have the baby shower this afternoon. Fun.
Enjoy your day.0 -
good morning, well we do have acme here in nj I go there every once in a while. I usally go to shoprite it is closer. Well yesterday I went and got a new cell phone the speaker on my other cell phone died we always buy our phones out right in the long run it is cheaper I got the new note 5. I just love it I had the note 2 before I had it for about 5 years at least if the speaker didn't go I would never of gotten an new phone.well I have some things that need to be done take care0

I worked this morning. On the way home I stopped at the christmas tree shop and browsed around. I picked up a few stocking stuffers(yes, I am thinking of christmas already)
Vix-have fun at the shower.
Irene-enjoy your new phone.
Roger-I do my oil changes by time also. I do not do a lot of driving other than back and forth to work. My car is 5 years old and I have 27,000 miles on it.
My day is pretty much free, except for grocery shopping.
Have a great day.

Hi
I got out walking today, No Money but I did pick up 12 Apples, 11 Look OK, and 1 I had not noticed when I picked it up was moderately damaged. Many will have small bruises from when they fell off of the tree. I like the taste, Slightly sweet and somewhat tart and I know they are fresh The Apples are a money equivalent since they will keep me in apples for a week+
Have a Good Sunday

Hi Vix
I see I'm not the only one that looked for a bargain matinee on Broadway. I always enjoyed doing that. Sadly the prices are now exorbitant IMO. You were even Closer than I when You were Nutley. I do get some humor from watching the Family Feud TV shows, Steve Harvey has a quick mind for humor.

Hi Irene
The Phone dying was the only reason my brother replaced his original Cell phone. Since neither of us uses a Smartphone that eliminates one of the reasons people replace their old phone.
I like the Acme as the Parking is much easier and it is much less crowded than the ShopRite, OTOH Except for items on sale it does run somewhat higher in prices.
Have a Good Upcoming week at work

The Current car has 15,000+ miles on it since 1999 when it was new. OTOH I was done with work when I got it a couple of years ago. Both of the previous owners known to me BTW were the stereotypical go to church and grocery store once or twice a week people.
I had to replace the old factory tires when I got it due to their age and dry rot. They still looked like new too.
Cheers

I didn't make it for the oil change today, but will go in the next few days. It's been 5 months...that's pretty good for me, used to be about every three months. I got my car when it was new...2002, it now has over 197,000 miles on it! I drove it to work for 11 years, 50-60 miles /day round trip, plus we always took my car on long trips (like to Long Island which is close to 300 miles one way), until the last few years when we've been renting vans for that trip (that way all 6 of us can fit comfortably). Roger, it's nice not having to drive that much.
Irene, best wishes with your new phone.
Jo, I have not even started to think about Christmas! Although all the churches are starting to have their Christmas Craft fairs. I'm sure we will keep it simple again this year. Just starting to plan for Thanksgiving. Also need to figure out what to do for my birthday and our anniversary, both the first week of December. It's a big anniversary....40 years! Yikes! haha.
The shower was fun today...saw my daughter's in-laws, the new mom to be is very sweet. It was a joyful party.
Anyway, have a good night, everyone.0 -
good morning, love my new phone it has my life on it. I even have pictures of Annie on it. My new phone actually has an app that I don't need to carry my credit cards which is pretty cool I not sure if I will use it or not, my phone is always with me so I not to worry about some one stealling it but I also lock my phone.Well need to go to work leaving early because noe amazon is only letting us in 1 way so the traffic is really bad take care0

Good morning;
Irene-have a good day at work.
Vix-I don't think I have ever put that many miles on a car. I go to my sister's house for thanksgiving. All I have to make is an apple pie and a lemon meringue pie. In September it was 40 years for me also.
Roger-good luck on your walk today.
No work today for me. Laundry and a little cleaning around the house. Hubby is off also, so maybe he will take me out to lunch.
Enjoy your day.

Irene, glad you love your phone. I like the smart phones, have had mine for a few years.
Enjoy your day off Jo.
I like having Thanksgiving here. The kids will come early, we'll all cook and hang out til late afternoon. It's nice.
Frosty out this morning, Roger! Bundle up.0
