    Good morning.
    Hot with scattered t-storms today.
This is a buggy time in the woods. I put on bug spray too, which I normally avoid, but it's better than getting eaten up.
Going out with friends tonight. Winery and music. Should be fun.

hi all, on our walks lately we have had insects follow us I did pick up some OFF today I guess we are going to have to start spraying ourselves. We did have some rain this morning and now it is really humid . We also had a lot of thunder so Annie was really scared nothing we do helps. Annie ran once after a deer this morning we actually had a deer watch us but Annie was busy chasing a stick. well take care everyone

    Hi
I'm back from walking and No cents. The Temperature out the door was 63 degrees and I was Comfortable for the first time in days. Today I need to mow the somewhat overgrown lawn, I just did not feel like doing it in the High temperatures and humidity :(

Then another trip to Lowes for more mulch, The last ten bags were not enough sadly.

    Hi Vix
I agree, I hate the idea of using insect repellent. OTOH the alternative can be worse. My Brother weeded the garden the other day and yesterday he complaining about a bug bite on his leg that itched and kept getting irritated during the day due to where it is.

I hope Your Evening went well

    Hi Irene
As I look out the Window I see a Rabbit on the neighbors driveway. While walking I saw the usual suspects, Rabbits, Squirrels, Birds hear Owls and Woodpeckers, I also saw two smallish deer feeding in a school playground, not the first time for that location either.

I have been swatting at flying gnats and swatting them on the back of my neck for several days, today is the first time I have not had them land on me.

The Ones I saw this morning were watching me too until I moved away far enough for them to relax and resume grazing. I walked past some Sunflowers today that had some leaves eaten off, Like by Deer, they decimated ours in the past over time, even eating the flowers that did make it.

Once the early morning Thunder and rain was past it turned into a nice looking if hot and humid day Friday.

With the nice overnight temperatures I walked a lot further despite planning to mow the grass later and Pick up mulch at Lowes too.

    Friday was Fried Chicken Day
    https://www.thrillist.com/news/nation/national-fried-chicken-day-deals-2018
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Fried_Chicken_Day
National Fried Chicken Day is observed in the United States of America annually on July 6. It is unclear how the day originated.

In observance of the day, fried chicken is prepared in a variety of ways, and eaten.

Some chain fried chicken restaurants such as Church's Chicken and KFC, and other chain restaurants such as Grandy's, offer promotions on National Fried Chicken Day.

    Good morning.
Had fun at the winery last night. The weather was pleasant and the band was playing Beatles songs. Always nice to spend time with friends.
Seems to have cooled off a little today...will have to get outside to enjoy that!
    Happy Saturday, everyone. :)

    Good morning;
What a beautiful day yesterday. My daughter and I went to the local Farmer's Market and bought fresh picked fruit and veggies.
I had to take Sophie to the vet yesterday because the lump on her tail had gotten bigger.
She is back on the anti fungal medication. If that doesn't cure it, she may have to have surgery on her tail.
We put up a humming bird feeder and have spotted one bird 2 days in a row.
This morning we had a hawk sitting on the back of one of our chairs on the deck.
    Vix-I love Beatles music.
    Hi Roger and Irene.
Nothing planned for today. I may just sit on the deck and read and enjoy this cooler weather, before we go back into the 90's tomorrow.
    Have a pleasant day. :)

    Hi Vix
I can not disagree, The overnights have been great and either due to that or where I walked I ran into fewer bugs too.

My brother was out back watering the Garden and I do not see much chance of rain so likely that will need doing more times this week.

I am sure that the fresh picked foods are tasty and nutritious.

    Nice, seeing the Hawk.
I saw this as a interstitial on the food channel and was amazed.
    http://www.goldenblossomhoney.com/education_bees.php
In order to produce 1 pound of honey, 2 million flowers must be visited. A hive of bees must fly 55,000 miles to produce a pound of honey. One bee colony can produce 60 to 100 pounds of honey per year. An average worker bee makes only about 1/12 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.

That is a lot of flowers

I will be honest, I am not looking forward to the higher temperatures in the forecast either.

    Good Luck with Sophie

    Good morning.
Forecast up to 87 today, but it's beautiful and sunny out right now. We've been sleeping with the windows open. It's nice that the nights are going down to the 60s. I have acupuncture this afternoon, but am free the rest of the day to catch up with whatever I want to.
    Jo, I hope Sophie's ok.
Good for all the walking Roger and Irene. We walked in the park yesterday afternoon, but my leg is not doing so well, so I'll take today off.

I forgot to mention the one deer I saw eating the Grade School playground grass yesterday, I was reminded of that when I saw two of them doing the same thing today. I guess they like the taste and openness of the grassy area.
