    Good morning,
Irene, sorry about your knee, was that the same problem as before? Glad you're feeling a bit better and can manage the pain. I am a great believer in the power of PT.
Ed, congrats on getting your 2nd shot today...happy dance! My side effects came the day after and only lasted a day...good luck, hope you and J don't have any bad ones. Good idea to cook ahead.
Jo, so sorry you had a bad day. It was very windy and chilly here yesterday, looks a bit better for the next few days. That's what they found when I had an EMG about 15-20 years ago, carpal tunnel and pinched nerve in my neck....did they give you wrist braces? They really help when your wrists hurt. I wore them a lot for a while, now just when I'm having a problem, sometimes to sleep. Congrats on your 2nd shot too!!! Another happy dance. Have fun with your daughter. Sorry about your tulips....we have some small purply-pink ones blooming...they're pretty. Maybe your critters will let the later blooming ones grow.
It's currently 48 and mostly cloudy, with a high of 59 expected.
Just the usual chores planned for today, exercises, water plants, etc.
Family will be coming tomorrow afternoon to celebrate our daughter-in-law's birthday. Looking forward to that, and it'll be warmer out, so hopefully we will be able to be outdoors or at least leave some windows open. We've all had at least one vaccination, except for my grandson, so it should be pretty safe.
    Happy weekend, everyone.

Well I am back! I barely felt the shot this time, and I managed to get past the meat section without buying any meat on sale. My freezers are pretty full, but I know I could have squeezed a little in if I bought some.

My stew is smelling wonderful. Too bad it won't be ready for a few more hours. I just took two pre-emptive Tylenol, per doctor recommendation and am drinking a little extra PowerAde Zero to keep hydrated.

    Good morning;
My arm is a little sore this morning and my joints are achy, not much more than usual.
Vix-I didn't get wrist splint, I have no pain, only numbness between index and middle finger.
Irene-Did I miss something else, did you have surgery or did you hurt your knee?
Ed-Glad you and J got your second shots.
My daughter is here for our walk
    Have a great day

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous sunny Sunday! 47 degrees now under clear skies and we are expecting a sunny high of 72,

My arm is quite sore this morning and I may feel a bit achy, but I often do anyway in the mornings. I'll see how it goes for the rest of the day. I intend to take it easy today.

    Good morning.
Irene, I didn't realize you had a knee replacement....I hope your recovery goes well and the PT helps with the pain.
Ed, it's a good day to take it easy.
Jo, the wrist braces can help with the numbness too. I have some I picked up at Walmart a while back. I hope you and Ed don't get too achy. Mine only lasted a day, but it was considerably worse than my usual achiness. Enjoy your walk.
Family is coming later to celebrate a birthday...looking forward to it. It looks like a nice day. It's currently 53 and sunny with a high of 63 expected.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

    Good morning;
Vix-I have a wrist brace that I use occasionally. I was a little achy, but took a hot shower,2 Advil and went about my day. Today I feel pretty good. We had a nice walk, went to the Arnold Arboretum. A lot of the flowering trees were in bloom, very pretty.
    Ed-Hope your aches went away.
Irene-I am glad you are in less pain. Keep up with those exercises. :)
Today I plan to sand the places in the living room that I patched and wash the walls and baseboards in preparation for painting
on Saturday. Also laundry and some errands.
Hope everyone has a great start to the new week. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! It's 49 sunny degrees out there now, and we are expecting a sunny high of 71.

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon lying on the bed, in the dark, as I started feeling really icky around lunchtime. Headache, stuffy head and sinuses, nauseated, and, of course, achy all over. I took two Tylenol, and drank some more PowerAde before lying down, and felt a bit better by early evening, and we ordered in for supper.

So J's lunch will be leftovers from the Thai food we ordered last night. I didn't eat much of it as I was still not feeling up to par, but I liked what I ate and it didn't seem to cause any difficulties for me.

This morning the pain at the injection site seems to be a bit less, and I feel otherwise mostly OK. I think I could have used more sleep, but I may take a nap later to take care of that. I finished off my stew for breakfast. We'll see how well that sits, but so far, so good. I have given Lilo her Monday morning fluid treatment, and the dishwasher is running.

Other than putting the dishes away later, I intend to take it easy for another day.

    Good morning.
Aw, hope you feel better today, Ed. I guess I was lucky...just achy and lasted only a day.
Glad you are feeling good, Jo. Your walk through an arboretum sounds wonderful. We have a lot of flowering trees in our neighborhood, and it has been very pretty this year. Sounds like you're busy as usual....what color are you going to paint your living room? I always find it hard to pick a color!
The visit with family yesterday was wonderful. So much fun to see everyone. We were outside, it was a little chilly but no one seemed to mind.
It's currently 55 and totally overcast, with a high of 65 expected. I'm achy today...maybe from the new PT exercises?
Will see what the day brings. I always seem to find things to keep busy.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! As the day went on, yesterday, everything continued to improve. About all that's left is some residual pain at the injection site. I have relatives and friends who had a lot more misery from their second shot, but all agree it's worth it to try to get things back to some semblance of normal.

I don't think we will ever get back to the same normal we had before this pandemic, at least not in the foreseeable future, but we should be able to establish a new normal that allows for more freedom of movement and social interaction, including people being allowed to touch one another again.

It's 48 sunny degrees out there with an expected partly sunny high of 76.

I need to take Lilo to the vet this morning.

    Good morning.
    Glad you're feeling better, Ed.
Good luck with Lilo's vet visit.
I have to pick up/drop off books at the library this morning, and will visit the dentist this afternoon to fix a small cavity.
It's currently 64 and sunny with a high of 72 expected...nice Spring day.
    Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 52 sunny degrees out there now with an expected windy high of only 57. It's supposed to get cold again tonight, but only down to 35. Winter is making what is hopefully one last jab at us! We may need to bring some of the plants back into the garage for tonight.

Other than that, I have some laundry that needs to be folded and put away. I might even get around to actually doing that.

    Good morning.
It's currently 59 with a high of only 60 expected for today. Temps falling this afternoon, windy with chance of t-storms. We also have a freeze warning for overnight. Cool again tomorrow, then starting to warm up again. I had my cavity filled yesterday, and picked up my book. Nothing special planned for today.
I always have things to do around the house.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Cold evenings just call out for soup. That meaty Easter ham bone that was in the freezer isn't in the freezer any more and I have plenty of soup to feed me for two or three days.

J's supper was spicy egg and veggie fried rice.

Mine was bean soup, utilizing the aforementioned ham bone. And, of course, too much buttermilk cornbread. Sigh...

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's currently a shocking 32 sunny degrees out there, with an expected partly cloudy high of 63.

Bean soup again for breakfast. The recipe on the bag makes a delicious soup, but a lot of it.

I have to take Orion to the vet a little later today for his annual wellness visit. He does not know it yet and is purring happily in my lap.

    Good morning.
Ed, that bean soup looks delicious with all those different types of beans. Never thought to have corn bread with it, but corn bread is yummy too.
Irene, have fun with your friend.
It's currently 40 here with an expected high of 51 and cloudy. There's another freeze watch in effect overnight. I hope not, we've put some plants out that might not make it through a freeze.
I don't have much on the agenda today. The new PT exercises look easy, but turn out to be painful, so I'm trying to build up to the recommended amount.
I have a zoom meditation session this afternoon I can attend, and I have the usual household chores.
    Have a good Thursday, everyone.

Orion is back from his annual wellness exam, having been poked, prodded, and shot...er, given a shot. And he doesn't trust me at the moment, but he'll get over it.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! It's 43 cloudy degrees out there, with an expected partly sunny high of 69. I need to get out to a grocery for a few things, or order delivery.

Orion was back in my lap shortly after giving me the evil eye from his box yesterday, so either I am forgiven or he was plotting to eviscerate me.

Breakfast was bean soup. Lunch should finish it off.

    Good morning.
Orion is a pretty cat...I'd go with forgiven, Ed.
I got my vitamin D level tested this a.m. Last blood test it was too high, so I cut out the supplementation for a while.
It's currently 36 and sunny with a high of 63 expected. Looks like we're going to have a couple of hot days this coming week.
I might try putting some of the equipment I ordered together today...maybe not. Will see what I feel like doing.
    Happy Friday, everyone....Happy Weekend.

Howdy all y'all. It's savage, soggy Saturday!

50 degrees and rain now, with a high of 70 under cloudy, and probably rainy, skies. They are showing a lightning bolt next to the rain, and we know what that means.

Nothing critical on the agenda for today. I took J's car out yesterday, and picked up only the critical items on the shopping list. I may set up a delivery order today, but I need to think about that.

    Good morning.
It looks like a sunny beautiful day here, currently 47 with a high of 64 expected. Calling for rain this evening and overnight.
No special plans. I woke up tired. So probably a slow day. Watered my plants. The orchid and peace plant are still blooming!
    Happy Weekend everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's a mostly sunny 53 out there now, with a partly cloudy high of 71 expected today.

I am still putting together my shopping list so I don't know whether I will get it filled today or not. Orion is purring in my lap now, and my tea mug is nearly empty, though there is more in the pot. At some point he will have to move unless I can magically fill my mug without getting up.

Nothing critical on the agenda today but J was wanting to get some furniture that belongs to our ex-roommate moved to the garage, for staging, and then into the SUV to take to Kentucky next weekend perhaps.

    Good morning.
Ed, always good to get something checked off the list of things to do. But sometimes, it just feels right to do nothing!
Yesterday, I got the rest of the equipment I ordered and some vitamins. Hubby already installed the hand held shower wand. I didn't put anything together yet.
But I have been doing the PT exercises and keeping up on my eliptical.
My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson have been stopping by now that the weather's getting better and they're out walking. It's so much fun to see them.
It's currently 50 and cloudy with a high of 65 expected. It rained all night and is kind of gloomy looking.
Will see what the day brings.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

    Good morning;
Ed-I am glad you are feeling better.
Vix-It is so nice that you get to see your grandson so often.
We spent Saturday painting the living room and yesterday putting everything back into the room. The color we chose was called hazy breeze. It is a light blue gray color and really brightens up the room.
Today I am going to see if I can get an appt. to bring my car in for service and a recall.
    Have a great day! :)

Jo, that sounds like a nice color. Painting is a lot of work. Good to spruce up and brighten up for the Spring. Good luck with your car recall and service.
It is wonderful to be able to see our grandson and children so often. I know how lucky we are. <3
I will stop at the library today, nothing else special planned. It is currently 39 and clear with a high of 64 expected. I was able to read out in the sun for a little while yesterday. The deck was windy, but the front porch was perfect.
Another new week...have a great Monday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

It's 48 sunny degrees out there, with an expected high of 78 under partly cloudy skies.

We planted a couple of big tomato plants yesterday, one slicer type and one Roma. I know the Roma is considered more of a cooking tomato but honestly, I love them in salads or just to eat. We are going to see if we can do well with just these two, in large containers, before possibly adding in other container plants. I have successfully done jalapeños in the past, and they did quite well. J would love to have a bell pepper. We have tried that in an Aerogarden before, and in a small container, with little success, but maybe in a larger container it could work. But we will see how the tomatoes go first.

I see blueberries forming on the bushes, and I still have tons left from last year, in the freezer. I need to think of low calorie uses for blueberries. I love muffins, pancakes, and waffles but those would not be the best things to make. Likewise for pies, coffee cakes, cobblers, and sugary jam, that I would only eat in small quantities anyway. I could make a small amount of sugar free refrigerator jam but that would not even dent the pile.

I need to pick up a bag of fluid for Lilo and will likely head on to Kroger to pick up a few things.

    Good morning.
Ed, home grown tomatoes are wonderful. I wish I had blueberry bushes....I love blueberries, sometimes I eat them as a snack. You can mix them into plain or vanilla yogurt, or top off your oatmeal, make a crumble by baking them with a light mixture of flour/sugar/butter tossed on top for low cal alternatives. You can also just freeze them to use later.
I have to stop at the library again today. Books to drop off and pick up. And I have an online appt with my dietitian.
It's currently 49 and mostly sunny with a high of 82 expected! Suddenly summer!
    Have a good day, everyone.
