I have been having some odd dizziness when moving my head while in a prone position, like trying to go to sleep. So I saw the doctor this morning to address concerns that it could be early symptoms of Parkinson's disease. My father died from complications of Parkinson's disease.

The good news is that he found no indication of Parkinson's disease. But he diagnosed benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and gave me some exercises to do a few times a day. He also prescribed a couple of weeks worth of meclizine to help with the vertigo.

The first round of exercises did seem to move the presumed crystalline debris in my inner ears around and had me feeling very dizzy for a while, but the meclizine should kick in soon and help with that.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's 68 (20 Celsius) mostly cloudy degrees now, with an overcast high of 86 (30 Celsius) degrees, and a decent chance of rain.

As J is planning an extended trip to Kentucky, I may have a little laundry to do today. J may be leaving tonight, rather than Friday, but didn't think to mention that to me until last night after supper. I have grown used to these last minute surprises over the years, and know that they won't stop, but you know, for better or for worse! And the better outweighs the worse. LOL.

    Hello.
Ed, I hope you're feeling better with the exercises and medicine. Thank goodness, it's not Parkinson's.
    Hi Irene.
I'm still hobbling about with my swollen bruised leg. Glad it's temporary. Blood pressure was back to normal today after taking in some electrolytes.
It's currently 77. A mix of clouds and sun. High 81F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
    Enjoy the day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! We currently have 69 (18 Celsius) fair degrees out there with an expected high of 87 (32 Celsius) under partly sunny skies. We have a 62% chance of rain today.

J got off to Kentucky just fine, after a late dinner at one of our favorite Indian restaurants. I checked the map this morning and it shows J at my sister-in-law's house.

The exercises and pills are definitely making a difference for my dizziness. One friend said I have been dizzy for years, which got a good laugh out of me. I don't know, but suspect, that the exercise may be something I will need to continue doing, albeit not quite so often. Another friend says she does that exercise and still takes half a pill of the meclizine every day. I hope to be completely off the pill after the two weeks, as I have plenty of other pills I take anyway.

Hope your bruises and pains are fading, Vix!

Not a lot on the agenda today. If the weather looks OK, I may get to the grocery, though nothing is critical.

    Good afternoon;
Vix-I am happy to hear you are up and moving.
Ed-Sorry about your dizziness. A few years back I had vertigo and the Dr. prescribed Meclizine. Also when you are getting up in the morning, sit up slowly and sit on the side of the bed for a few minutes and no sudden movements. I hope you recover quickly.
It is cloudy and cool today with rain expected tonight.

    hello.
I'm really tired but doing well. My blood pressure is low again, so I'm drinking all day long. I think it may have had something to do with the muscle relaxant pill, so I stopped taking them today. I also think it was causing digestive issues. I graduated to using a cane today, just have my walker by the bed if I need to get up in the middle of the night. My leg is still really swollen, but they said it's all normal.
Ed, I hope your vertigo clears up quickly.
Hi Jo! It's amazing what they can do these days.
It was cool here today, high was in the low 60s and it rained on and off all day. Expecting steady light rain in the morning. Showers continuing in the afternoon. High 54F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph tomorrow.
    Have a good night, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

63 (17 Celsius) partly sunny degrees out there with an expected high of only 73 (23 Celsius) under still partly sunny skies.

I need to got a decent runaround in both cars at some point this weekend, but my van will probably be done on Monday since I am supposed to attend the first pool party in well over a year. We have limited attendance to a maximum of 40 and are requiring proof of vaccination, so that everyone can feel comfortable unmasked. We did have one couple who had decided to "take their chances" on having had Covid, and weren't planning to get vaccinated, and we told them we would miss them.

Nothing critical on today's agenda, but if I do run J's SUV around a bit, I will likely stop at a grocery for a few items.

I renamed the Humorous Pictures thread since not ALL of the posts there are, in fact, humorous. It is now named Humorous, Thought Provoking, or Uplifting Pictures.

    Good morning.
Sounds like you're feeling better, Ed...that's good. I would be careful with large gatherings too. They have reopened the Sr Centers here, but I'm not going...they're allowing no masks, and unvaccinated people. Unvaccinated people are requested but not required to wear masks. I'm not comfortable with that.
I'm feeling a bit better today. Stomach still a little queasy, leg still swollen, but I'm getting around ok, doing some PT to help recover.
It's currently 48 and rainy.Considerable cloudiness today with occasional rain showers. High 51F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph.
    Enjoy the weekend, everyone.

    Good morning;
Vix-sounds like you are doing great. I hope your stomach feels better soon.
We do not have to wear masks at work any more if we are vaccinated. I am still wearing mine. I feel more comfortable wearing it as I do not know if the people not wearing one are vaccinated. It is the honor system and I don't trust it.
Ed-pool party sounds like fun, but be careful.
It is raining here and supposed to ran tomorrow. It is also a bit chilly. We will not be barbecuing.
    Have a good weekend. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's 53 (12 Celsius) mostly cloudy degrees out there now, with a high of 77 (25 Celsius) expected under mostly sunny skies.

I have the dishwasher running now. I got a little yard work and clean up done yesterday, to take advantage of the cooler weather. I may not do any today, as I don't want to overdo it, especially as I am still working on the vertigo exercises and taking the meclizine.

I do need to get to the grocery though, and can take J's car for a run while doing that.

Dinner last night, pictured below, was meatloaf. Breakfast today was meatloaf too. What a surprise! But it is nice to have a heat and eat breakfast.

    hello.
Jo, I think you and I look at the situation similarly...I don't really trust the honor system either. Sorry your weather sounds as dreary as ours.
Ed, lucky you getting sunny skies!
It's currently 50. Generally cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 53F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.
My son is coming to visit in a little while. It'll be really nice to see him. He's been calling every day this week, so I'm sure he'll feel better after he sees that I'm ok. Hubby went out shopping but should be home shortly.
I'm keeping up the PT exercises, ice packs, lots of liquids, etc, and doing a little better every day.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Memorial Day Monday! The day to remember those who died fighting for our country.

It's currently 55 (13 Celsius) sunny degrees out there with an expected high of 80 (27 Celsius) under partly sunny skies. Great day for a pool party. I have some baked beans going in a slow oven, and they should be fine and ready to go by the time I need to leave for the party.

Part of me is excited to be socializing a bit, after such a long lockdown, but I AM an introvert and part of me is terribly nervous. Still, I agreed to go because I know I need to socialize, and we have done everything we can to ensure safety, so that we can have a party without the social distancing and masks, for the first time in ages!

Nothing else really on the agenda for today, except getting my Epley maneuvers in and remembering to take my meclizine.

Enjoy the party, Ed. Just a quiet day at home for me, but will get outside in the sun sometime today.
Memorial Day, I hope people remember they gave their lives for our democracy, and the true meaning of it.
It's currently 60. Sunshine and a few clouds. High 73F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

    Good morning.
Will have a visit from the home health nurse today. Nothing else planned. I've been reading a lot, doing a tiny bit of knitting, and some daily puzzles.
It's currently 58 and sort of sunny. A mix of clouds and sun early followed by cloudy skies this afternoon. High 79F.
I spent a good amount of time on the deck yesterday enjoying the weather, will probably do that again today.
    Have a good Tuesday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It's 57 partly cloudy degrees (14 Celsius) with an expected high of 81 (27 Celsius) that is expected to still be under partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday's party went well, but I tasted too many cookies and cakes. I left after 4 hours and was really exhausted, partly by all the social interaction and partly by walking around and helping to keep the food organized. My baked beans didn't come out exactly like I wanted, but they were good and I got compliments on them.

Supper last night was just a small cheese omelet and some turkey sausage links, with some bread and cheese later for a snack to help keep my glucose stable overnight.

Breakfast today was a breakfast steak, and a bowl of steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and cream added.

Not a lot on the agenda today, but I may get out to make the monthly run to get cat food and kitty litter.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's 62 (17 Celsius) partly cloudy degrees out there with an expected overcast high of 81(27 Celsius) degrees, and a slight chance of rain.

I got the pet supplies yesterday, but the regular shopping list is, of course, already growing, as these things tend to do. Nothing on it is critical so I probably won't be rushing out to the store today.

Perhaps some house cleaning and watering plants. Breakfast was a small pork chop and some oatmeal with blueberries and cream.

    Good morning.
Ed, my daughter does taco Tuesday too. :) Your dinner looks yummy.
I have a visit with my PT today, and my housecleaner is coming.
Hubby has been making air fried sweet potatoes, so I've been having a few of those with my dinner...that's a treat for me. I have mostly veggies and a protein for dinner, last night a chicken burger, shrimp the night before. Not sure what I want for breakfast yet, will decide after my 2nd cup of coffee.
It's currently 62, cloudy skies. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 79F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Not much different from your weather, Ed.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Well, instead of house cleaning, I decided to do yard work. The lawn crew came today so they did some major hedge whacking, but not as much as I really wanted, but since they had done a lot of it I decided to finish up on my own after they left. They just didn't seem to get it that I wanted it cut back to a certain point, and all the way up to the top and keep not quite getting it in far enough and letting it get bigger as it got taller. Next on THAT agenda is trying to get them to bring it down to 6 feed tall or less, but that will be another day (maybe more than one) when they come around.

We were beginning to call it the hedge that ate Peachtree Corners.

But I feel good about what I finished off and now maybe they can keep it the way I want it, as far as width. Oh, and we have a tomato that is beginning to turn red. Maybe we will even get to eat it if the critters leave it alone.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 67 (19 Celsius) mostly cloudy degrees out there with an expected high of 84 (29 Celsius) under overcast skies, and a 19% chance of rain.

I have some laundry to fold today, and may get to that house cleaning that I didn't do yesterday. Or to Kroger. Or do nothing at all. The meclizine is putting something of a drag on my initiative, possibly even my mood, but it's just for a few more days. Fortunately, the arrival of the lawn crew yesterday pushed me to get out there and do some work myself and then tidy up. So I got in some good exercise yesterday.

Dinner was a baked chicken leg quarter, green beans, and some garlic mashed potatoes.

Breakfast was oatmeal with blueberries and cream, along with a breakfast chop.

Dinner tonight may be slow cooker chicken Marsala if I remember to get it started early enough. If not, I can do something else with that piece of chicken.

So, nothing critical on the agenda, but I probably will get that laundry folded. If I type that enough times maybe I can make it come true. LOL.

Wow...that was a lot of trimming back, Ed. The tomatoes look really good.
The home health nurse is coming today. Hubby will make a library drop off/pick up for me. As of yesterday, I don't need to use the cane to get around the house. I may need it for stairs for a while.
It's currently 67, cloudy skies early then heavy thunderstorms developing this afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 81F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

    Good afternoon,
Ed-looks like you got a lot of exercise yesterday.
Vix-you seem to be doing great after your surgery. Are you having much pain?
It is cloudy here and we have had a few sprinkles.
I decided to take next week off from work. I just need to relax and not think about work for a while. One of the trouble makers, just gave his 2 weeks notice, now if the other one would do the same, work wouldn't be so bad.
    Enjoy your evening. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

It's currently 65 (18 Celsius) under partly cloudy skies, with an expected high of 87 (31 Celsius), still under partly cloudy skies.

I did get the laundry folded, but mostly took a rest day. I think I am adjusting to the meclizine, but probably just in time to finish it up and then adjust back to not having it. The vertigo when lying down is much better, but I don't know if that is because of the meclizine or the Epley maneuver being done three times a day. I expect that maneuver may well become a routine part of my life, but will discuss that further with my doctor if necessary.

Dinner yesterday was slow cooked chicken Marsala, over a rather disappointingly small serving of spaghetti, with some steamed broccoli and buttered sourdough bread. Later I had some naughty feeling buttered popcorn while watching videos.

Breakfast was a beef cube steak along with blueberries and cream oatmeal.

Nothing necessary on the agenda today. I think I will have the leftover chicken for lunch, and pizza for dinner. I saw a picture of Danny Bonaduce putting peanut butter on what looked like an "all the meats" pizza and may try that myself.

I do love a good peanut butter, Miracle Whip, onion, and bacon sandwich now and then. I know that may sound really bizarre, but I encountered it on a discussion thread about odd or unique sandwich fillings and several of us decided to give it a try. Some with mayo, some with Miracle Whip. We all found it to be surprisingly good. I found that it was great on whole wheat toast. Peanut butter on one slice, mayo/Miracle Whip on the other, crisp bacon and thinly sliced yellow onion in between.

I am sure others may have preferred white onion or even red, but I like it with the yellow. I have all the ingredients in the house. Hmmmmmmmm.

    hello.
Busy morning. We were looking online for new front doors...we want one with stained glass in it. Hard to find.
My PT came this morning too. The pain gets less everyday, but I am having trouble with pain in my knee and ankle. The therapist found some muscles and tendons that are not moving the way they should and massaged them for me. Also gave me some exercises that might help. I just finished icing that area. I think I am doing really well.
Also my daughter was looking for big flower decals for the new baby's room, so I was looking too. That was fun. More amazing things they do these days!
Jo, I am so glad you took some time off to just relax. You always work so hard. It's always good when you can get rid of a trouble maker or two. When I was a manager, I used to encourage them to put in for jobs in other places. 😂 It made them feel better that I was telling them to look for a promotion, and me feel better that maybe they would be gone some day.
Ed, my body can't handle eating that much fat anymore, but I do like a little natural peanut butter on celery once in a while. Makes for a tasty crunchy snack. Good that you got your laundry folded. Will your vertigo go into remission or is that something you have to live with?
It's currently 68 here, was partly cloudy this morning. Increasing clouds with periods of showers this afternoon. High 82F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
    Happy Friday, everyone.

    Good morning.
Doors...we have sidelights and a transom window with our front door, and most places want you to replace the whole thing, not just the door! That seems like a bit much! We just wanted to perk it up a little. oh well.
Need to water my plants today. Change bandage, etc.
It's currently 67, mostly sunny. Hot. High 91F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Happy Weekend, everyone. I hope you enjoy the hot weather.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 68 (20 Celsius) sunny degrees here with partly cloudy skies and a high of 84 (29 Celsius) expected and a 42% chance of rain, that could include thundershowers if it happens.

Turkey sausage links, eggs, and buttered sourdough bread for breakfast. Not much on the agenda today, but maybe a brief grocery trip to see if Ingle's has what Kroger didn't have yesterday. And maybe run a broom along a floor or two.

    Good morning;
Currently 66 here with a high of 88 expected. What a nice way to start my vacation with the sun shining. :)
Vix-good luck with finding a new front door. There are so many choices.
Ed-I like bacon sandwiches with mayo, but have never tried it with peanut butter....Maybe???
We got woken up ab around 2:30 this morning smelling skunk. I had a hard time going to sleep after that. I think a nap may be in order today. I got up at 4, did 2 loads of laundry, put the dishwasher through, cleaned the bird bath and the upstairs bathroom, made breakfast.
I also spackled 2 places beneath the dining room window. I am eventually going to paint the dining room.
So much for relaxing on my vacation. ;)
    Have a great weekend. :)

From what I have read, it should go away, but there is a possibility of it coming back sometime. I will just have to see how it goes.
