    Good morning.
    Enjoy the blueberries, Ed!
I just have some things to do around the house today. Folding clothes, watering plants, etc. I may bake some cookies...we've been wanting treats lately.
It's currently 71F and cloudy. Showers early, then cloudy in the afternoon. High 86F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Looks like it's going to be extra hot for the upcoming week.
    Happy Saturday, everyone.

Whew! I spent a LOT of time in the yard this afternoon, watering and then picking blueberries with S. He arrived about 2:30 and left about 4:15 with over a gallon of blueberries. I had already frozen half a gallon myself. And I know which part we didn't even get to today and where to start in the morning for my usual bucket or two. I have already frozen 2 gallons now.

I have some pork in a slow cooker in a creamy mushroom and wine sauce, so I will just need to steam some broccoli and make some kind of starch to go with that later. I will either make some garlic mashed potatoes or perhaps some cornbread dressing. There is enough pork for several meals, so whatever starch I make can also be enough for several meals. I have plenty of broccoli to steam.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

It's currently 23 (73.4 F) cloudy degrees out there with a 31% chance of rain for the day.

Our expected high is 30 (86 F) under cloudy skies. I may manage to pick some blueberries this morning. We'll see.

The pork was good and I have two or three more meals that can be heat and eat, just assembling already cooked food on a plate and sticking it in the microwave for a few minutes. Sunday dinner and then supper later can come from that supply. Breakfast was some sausage links and a bowl of steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and cream.

    Good morning.
I baked some gluten free chocolate chip cookies yesterday, enjoyed 2 of them. I've put them in a tin so they are out of my sight and will last longer...I don't need to be eating a lot of cookies! (But it is nice to have something around for a treat). ;)
It's another gloomy looking morning. It's currently 73F, cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. Hot. High 91F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
The birds love the spruce tree outside my window. I love seeing them there.
Today may be a lazy day.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

Happy Anniversary Irene and George! Also happy birthday, George.
It is cloudy here but supposed to get sunny in the afternoon.
Nothing on for today. I did clean the bird baths, wash the kitchen and breezeway floors and clean the cat box.
Hubby put a new ceiling fan in the bedroom yesterday. The one we had was old and made a lot of noise. This one has remote control, so no more kneeling on the bed to turn the fan on.
Vix-I love watching the birds. We also have a chipmunk and squirrels that keep us entertained.
    Have a great day. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! Currently it's 23 (73.4 F) degrees out there with mostly cloudy skies. We are expecting a high of 31 (87.8 F) with the same mostly cloudy skies and a minimal chance of rain.

I got out to Kroger yesterday and may get out to Lidl this morning, but we will see. Nothing on the remaining list is a critical need.

And, of course, check and probably pick a few blueberries too.

    Good morning.
Ed, again, warmer here. It's currently 75F, mostly sunny. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 92F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
I have a PT appt at noon. Will see what else the day brings.
Another new week. Have a good one!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 22 (71.6 F) cloudy degrees out there now with an expected high of 29 (84.2 F) with mostly cloudy skies all day and a good chance of rain that could include some thundershowers if it happens.

It looks a bit damp out there so it may have rained a bit during the night. Nothing critical on the agenda today and I may just take it easy. I might even take the day off from blueberry picking though that remains to be seen.

    Good morning.
Hot one here today. Currently 77F, plentiful sunshine. High near 95F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
I have a tele-med with my dietician at 10. Don't think I want to be outside much!
    Have a good day, everyone.

Well, I did get out after supper to pick a quart of blueberries, and immediately froze them. I think the mosquitos may have taken a pint of blood in payment. But it was worth it to get another quart frozen. Weather allowing, I will probably pick more tomorrow.

    Good morning.
Ed, that's great to have so many blueberries. I'm not sitting outside much, so haven't noticed an issue with mosquitos, but they're probably out there.
Currently 72F here. It's going to be another really hot one. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 96F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
My housecleaner is coming this morning, and I have a PT appt at noon. Will stop by the library after that.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 20 (68 F) bright, shiny degrees out there now with an expected high of 32 (89.6 F) under mostly sunny skies. We have a 34% chance of rain.

I don't remember exactly when they changed from always showing that percentage as a multiple of 10, but do remember that it always used to be 10%, 20%, 30% etc. but I guess they finally decided that their predictions could be more accurate with modern technology, and for a while now they have been showing more precise percentages.

Now if they could only actually get it right more often. LOL.

The lawn guys are out there, bright and early. I don't have a lot on the agenda today. Breakfast was sausage links and oatmeal with blueberries and cream. Also some string cheese.

I do have a Polska kielbasa and some sauerkraut set up for supper, and another two or three meals. I had to dig around in the spice cabinet to find the caraway seed as I haven't had sauerkraut in a long time, or kielbasa. They had the kielbasa and the smoked sausage on sale the last time I went to Kroger and when I saw it I just decided to get one of each, since I so rarely buy or eat either one.

I may do some light housework, and may pick some blueberries if I feel like it and it isn't too damp.

Tonight's kielbasa, garlic mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and sauerkraut prepared with onions, garlic, sage, thyme, some caraway seeds, a touch of cumin, and a little freshly ground black pepper.

    Good morning.
Ed, you really fancy up your saurkraut! Sounds good.
We had a big storm last night, strong winds and rain. Gloomy out this morning, but it's cooled off. Currently 69F, light rain this morning with thunderstorms by evening. Potential for severe thunderstorms. High near 80F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. We're under a flash flood watch, but rarely get them close by where we are.
No special plans for today. Will do my at home PT exericises and ice packs. I got 3 books from the library yesterday, and I'm working on knitting a baby blanket which is taking forever.
Happy July 1st! Have a good day.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

It's 21 (69.8 F) partly cloudy degrees out there now. We are expecting the same skies all day, with a high of 30 (86 F) and 36% chance of rain, which could include some thunder and lightning.

We got a few thundershowers last night after supper, and Kiara is never very happy with thunder. But she managed.

Breakfast this morning was leftovers from last night's supper. I can't recall ever having sauerkraut for breakfast before, but food is food.

I may pick some blueberries today, weather permitting, and may do some housecleaning. I may...

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday!

It's 22 (71.6 F) degrees out there with light rain. It's apparently going to be a rainy day with an expected high of 28 (82.4 F) which is a bit cooler than it has been, but no mention of lightning or thunder.

A nice, ordinary rain would be good for the plants and things. I am glad I got another half gallon of blueberries picked and frozen yesterday, as it rather looks like I won't be picking today unless there is some significant period of drying off.

But I do have laundry to do and some floors to sweep so I have plenty to keep busy with.

    Good morning.
We had a lot of strong downpours yesterday and last evening, and overnight.
It's currently 67 here, totally overcast and rainy looking. The forecast says cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 79F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
I have a PT appt later this a.m. Will see what else the day brings.
    Happy Friday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's currently 18 sunny degrees out there with an expected high of 29 under mostly sunny skies.

We have a pool party planned for this afternoon and it should be very nice for it. I have spicy baked beans going in the oven.

Not much else on the agenda. If I have time and feel like it, I may pick some blueberries this morning before I head to the party.

    Good morning.
Enjoy the pool party, Ed. Nice weather for it.
Cooler here. Currently 17.2 with a high of 25. Haha. 63F, a mix of clouds and sun with a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. High 77F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph. I have my window open, and will probably spend some time outdoors today, soaking up the sun and nice weather.
I tried dry needling yesterday, it's supposed to loosen knots in the muscles, etc. A little sore from it, but hoping it works.
    Happy Saturday, everyone.

    Good afternoon;
It has been raining here for the last 2 days and only in the 60's. Tomorrow doesn't look much better. If the weather does break tomorrow we are going to pick blueberries and sunflowers.
Vix-I hope the dry needling works for you. I had to look it up, sounds like it would work.
    Ed-enjoy your pool party.
Work was so busy the last two days. With all the rain, I thought people would not be buying a lot for the 4th. We had a sale on cherries $1.77 a lb. and corn for 17 cents an ear. We ran out of cherries at 2pm. on Friday and today at 11:30. Working in a grocery store around the holidays can be stressful.
Have a good afternoon and evening. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! 18 (64.4 F) sunny degrees now with an expected high of 31(87.8 F) under sunny skies as well. There is that teensy 2% chance of rain, but you do need at least a teensy cloud for that so I am not expecting any rain.

Not much on the agenda today. There were a lot of people at the party yesterday, so it seems people are slowly starting to venture forth from their homes. Everyone seemed really glad to be there and, as always, food was plentiful.

Not a lot on the agenda today, other than picking blueberries.

Jo, I hope you get to pick your blueberries and sunflowers! I hope you get a chance to relax.
Ed, glad you had fun at the party! How long do the blueberries keep producing? Yum, blueberries!
Our town had it's fireworks last night. We watched from our driveway...it was a really nice display.
Spent some time with our grandson and daughter yesterday morning. So much fun.
It's currently 65F, sunshine and clouds mixed today. Slight chance of an afternoon shower. High 82F. Winds light and variable.
Happy Sunday, Happy Independence Day, everyone.

The blueberry picking generally runs for six to eight weeks. It starts off slow, then we usually get about a month of peak picking, and then it tapers off. I have already frozen enough to get me through most of non-blueberry season and am quite happy with the crop this year. My friend down the road said he froze 3 quarts and is still eating on the rest of what we picked when he came up last weekend. I invited him to come for more but he declined, at least for now.

If it's cool enough this evening, I may go out for another quart and make it a whole gallon for the day.

Well, I went lazy for this holiday dinner. I was planning to cook some chicken thighs but when I saw ready to eat baby back ribs at Kroger, I decided to grab that, along with a small container of egg mustard potato salad, and a can of Hunt's baked beans. I did make the deviled egg, and fixed up (mostly spiced up) the baked beans, and the tomato came from our container garden. I have about half of everything left over for another meal. Well, I did eat the whole tomato. LOL. But I have another I can eat with the leftovers.

    Good morning.
Ed, I think I should get a blueberry bush, haha, but not much room left in our yard for it. I always keep a bag of frozen, I love them for breakfast, and lately have been adding them to my yogurt.
We keep Gilbert's natural chicken sausages for when we don't feel like cooking. I had one last night with some saurkraut. The Gilbert's are really good and come in a lot of flavors. They are kind of a treat for me. More processed than most of the food I eat.
It's currently 61F, actually looks kind of sunny at the moment, cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 89F. Winds light and variable.
I have an early PT appt today, will probably stop at the PO to mail some letters/bills, pick up some hair color at Walmart and drop a book off at the library on the way home. Will see what the rest of the day brings.
    Have a good one.
