Good morning.
Ed, that's good that the vertigo should go away...are you using a cane or anything for support while you have it, or do you just have to stop and sit/lay down? I hope it goes away soon!
Jo, you're funny. Where is your reclining chair and good book? You could be paid for what you do while "relaxing"! Definitely, get in time for that nap! I'll stop teasing....enjoy your time off.
Some friends are stopping by this morning for a quick visit. I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee before they get here.
I will definitely get outside this morning before it gets too hot.
It's currently 70 (perfect!). Sunny. Hot. High 93F. Winds light and variable.
Happy Sunday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! 22 (71 Fahrenheit) partly cloudy degrees now with an overcast high of 30 (86 Fahrenheit) expected and a good chance of rain. Not a lot on the agenda today. A friend came over last night just to hang out for a while and we were up until after 11:30, so I was close to turning into a pumpkin, which I do at midnight. So a nap may be in the works today. If it rains early enough, that should be pleasant.

The vertigo is/was mostly while lying down anyway, when turning over to my left side, though with the PT helping to rearrange the crystals and try to get them back where they belong, to be re-absorbed maybe, There are occasional very brief moments while sitting, or if I make a sudden head movement, but nothing that makes me need a cane any more than usual. Sometimes my hip or knee might be bad enough to require that and I did bring one to the renaissance festival when we went, in case of need.
But I see my mug of tea is almost empty so I need to pour the second one and push the button on the coffee machine so that mug will be ready after I drain the second mug of tea.

Good morning;
Another hot one today. I have a few errands to run and some phone calls to make.
Vix-I did lounge under a tree and read yesterday, after making quiche for breakfast and a sour cream coffee cake, and cleaning up the mess I made in the kitchen.
Have a good day and stay cool.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday. It's 26 (71 Fahrenheit) degrees with an expected high of 27 (80 Fahrenheit) under overcast, and probably rainy skies.
I will definitely need a nap today. J suddenly needed to be back home, away from some friend and family drama up there, but didn't want to drive the motorcycle home, preferring to leave it in Kentucky for the summer. So my sister in law drove J to a "halfway point" that is really a longer leg from home than from her house in Kentucky, and I met them there in J's car, so J could drive us back home. I left home about 6:30 or 7:00 last night and we got back around 3:00 this morning. We did stop for maybe 20 to 30 minutes for Waffle House, and once to get gas. So I got to bed about 3:20 this morning and got up about 7:20.
I could go back to sleep right now! But I won't as I need to drink the rest of my tea, my coffee, and feed the cats. Then maybe a late morning nap.

hello.
Jo, quiche and sour cream coffee cake sound delicious! Glad you got to relax under a tree and read.
Irene, glad you got to enjoy the pool!
Ed, wow. That's a long and tiring drive. But I know you must be happy to have J back.
Busy day. My PT came in the a.m. Tried to work on some of the kinks in my leg. Then went to the PA at the surgeon's office. She took out the staples and put some bandages on, checked out a few things, asked and answered a few questions. All is going great, it'll take a while for the swelling to go down and to feel normal again, but I'm on my way.
On the way home we stopped at a local soft serve ice cream place. I've been wanting to try it since we moved here 7 years ago. It was just a simple cup of a twist of vanilla and chocolate, but it's been so long since I've had soft serve! It was totally worth the calories.
It's hot today, high of 89, partly cloudy, chance of scattered T-storms.
I hope everyone had a good day, and wishing you all a good week.0 -
Good morning;
Another hot one today.
Ed-That is a long drive. I hope you get a nap in today.
Irene-Enjoy your pool time!
Vix-An ice cream treat after a busy day, nothing better.
Today I have a few plants to plant and I may transplant some lily of the valley that is currently being overtaken by my hostas. I also have to return a shirt.
Have a great day!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 22 (71 Fahrenheit) degrees out there under cloudy skies. We have an expected high of 28 (83 Fahrenheit), and partly sunny skies, with a 58% chance of rain, that may include some thundershowers.
I got TWO naps in yesterday. A brief morning nap before lunch didn't quite "do it" for me, so an afternoon nap was added in, and that helped a lot. Supper last night was burgers, of which I had two, but on sourdough bread rather than buns, and one veggie burger for J, with a couple of eggs and some baked steak cut fries. I will admit to stealing a fry or two...LOL. Then just one good bite of fudge for dessert. J had brought some back from Savannah, and we have been oh so slowly eating it, by slivers and nibbles.
Breakfast was turkey sausage links, along with steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and cream. Speaking of cream, I may need to get out to Lidl for cream, and perhaps eggs, and I should check to see if I need milk as well. And of course with a long haired black cat in the house, a bit of sweeping up is always needed. It may not get done, but it's always needed.

Good morning.
Jo, I love lily of the valley. We used to have some under the trees at our old house, but none here yet. Hubby moved some of our hostas because they have gotten so big.
I'm happy I can stop wearing the compression socks, they were so hot! And I can wear sandals...yay! Simple things.
Another hot one here too. It's currently 72. Partial cloudiness early, with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. High 86F. Winds light and variable. I think I'll go out on the deck for a while before it gets too hot.
Have a good day, everyone!0 -
Good morning,
I am going to the library today. We had a new one built last year and I haven't been in it yet.
I was going to walk but it is too humid out. The library is about 1 1/2 miles from my house.
I just did 30 min. on the elliptical and I am dripping.
We had a thunder storm last evening, so I didn't have to water my plants.
Jan-I hope you are doing well.
Have a great day.0 -
Good morning.
Jo, I love libraries. Nice that it's so close. Ours is 4-5 miles. It's very humid here too, not fun to walk in. It'll be a while before I use my elliptical again...I"ll see what they say in PT. On hot humid days 30 minutes would make me drip too!
Hi Ed, Jan, and Irene.
I think my home PT's last day is today, but I've scheduled PT in town starting next Wednesday.
It's currently 73 mostly sunny, some clouds this morning. A few showers developing during the afternoon. High 86F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Have a good Wednesday, everyone.0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 21 (70 Fahrenheit) foggy degrees out there now, with an expected high of 30 (86 Fahrenheit) with partly cloudy skies and a 51% chance of rain and/or thundershowers. We got some thunder last night, but nothing close by, and we got some rain so I think I can skip watering the tomatoes and peppers today.
Might do laundry though, and some of the perpetual house cleaning.

Hi Ed, your weather sounds about like ours today.
I forgot to mention.
The cicadas are encroaching! Last week it was a faint hum. With the heat it's a loud thrum, and they're flying over from the woods and farm behind the houses across the street. One landed on my when I went outside for a few minutes yesterday, and I noticed them all up in the trees, one on the porch, a few on the deck...yuck.
Anyone else get the 17 year bug?0 -
Good morning;
Vix-Yuck on the cicadas. I don't think they come this far north, but I could be wrong.
Ed-house cleaning is never done.
Today is supposed to be cooler in the 70's and no humidity, my kind of day.
I am not sure what I am doing today, maybe a pedicure.
Have a great day!0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 21 (70 Fahrenheit) cloudy degrees out there now with an expected high of 27 (81 Fahrenheit) under overcast skies, with 71% chance of rain.
I may not need to water the tomato and bell pepper plants today. Not a lot on the agenda. A rainy afternoon nap would be lovely.

Good morning.
Oooooh, a pedicure sounds nice, Jo.
Ed, looks like slightly warmer here...
It's currently 73. Variable clouds with thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon hours. High 83F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
Was going to sit outside a little this a.m., but cicadas!
Happy Thursday, everyone.

good morning, vix when i had my knee replacement i remember those socks were horrible it seemed like i had them on forever.0
-
Good morning.
Irene, I've been told that the recovery from knee replacement is very hard. The socks are awful, but I guess they work. How long did it take you to get back to normal? My Dr. said I should feel normal in about 3-6 months, but that recovery is actually a full year.
Hi Ed, Jo, and Jan. Jan, hope the storms missed you and that you're doing well.
We're going to look at some tile today, we want to upgrade our bathrooms a little. We currently have a brownish tile, and we'd like something lighter...I'm thinking marble look...mostly white with some grayish veins. I hope we find some we like.
It's currently 64, rained overnight and continuing. High 66F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
Happy Friday, everyone.
0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 22 (72 Fahrenheit) cloudy degrees out there with partly sunny skies expected, a high of 29 (84 Fahrenheit) degrees, and a 50% chance of rain, that could include some thundershowers.
We got a bit of rain yesterday, and it is quite damp out there still. I have a tomato that I COULD pick today but think it will be better if I wait until tomorrow. Breakfast was some beef stew made from leftover pot roast that I cooked on Wednesday. I have had three meals of roast, and turned the rest into stew this morning. There are still a couple of bowls of stew left. This roast was a bit bigger than I usually buy, but it was a beautiful piece, marked down to half price because of the date. It cooked up nicely in a slow cooker, with enough red wine to help make a really rich brown gravy. I have enjoyed the four meals so far from it and I am sure I will enjoy the remaining two.

good morning, vix it took me a long time i don't remember how long but it was close to a year0
-
Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's a fairly warm 23 (73 Fahrenheit) cloudy degrees now, with an expected hot high of 31 (88 Fahrenheit) under partly cloudy skies with some chance of rain.
There are a couple of tomatoes that I COULD pick today, but I would like to let them go for a bit longer to get that fully vine ripened flavor. I am keeping a close eye on them. If J decides to pick them I won't really have a problem with that though. I am sure they would taste fine diced up into a salad.
Not a lot on the agenda today. Perhaps we will get out and about a bit, weather permitting.

Good morning.
Thanks, Irene...I'm glad you're doing better now. I guess it's pretty amazing that they can fix our joints.
Ed, sometimes it's nice to have leftover dinner for breakfast. I like breakfast food for dinner sometimes too.
Hi Jo and Jan.
We brought some tile samples home with us yesterday and figured out which one we like the best. We'll bring them back next week, and also go over some of the trim details.
It rained all day yesterday, and is still very cloudy today. It's currently 60 with a high of 79F expected. But I guess it feels chilly because it's just so overcast. Winds light and variable.
May go out to look at front doors today. We'd like to perk up our entrance too.
Happy Saturday, everyone.0 -
Good morning;
I sent Jan an Email. She is doing well, just busy. She says hi to everyone.
Vix-good luck with your door shopping.
It is currently raining here, supposed to clear up by this afternoon. My daughter and I planned to go to a farmer's market this morning. It opens at 10. I am hoping the rain will have stopped by then.
Have a great weekend!0 -
jo so glad Jan is ok I use to have her email not sure what I did with it0
-
Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! 21 (70 Fahrenheit) sunny degrees out there now with a steamy high of 32 (90 Fahrenheit) expected under partly cloudy skies.
I may need to get J's car out for a run today so if there are any grocery items needed, that may be on the same trip.

Good morning.
Jo, thanks for getting in touch with Jan. Glad she's ok. I hope you got to go to the farmers market. Those are always fun.
Hi Irene, Ed, and Jan.
I found a door I kind of liked, but (learn something new every day) apparently they don't make that door in a size to fit my doorway. It's off by about 1/2 inch. So we'll look some more and maybe change my ideas about what I want.
It was nice to get out and about a little.
Will be mostly resting up today. It's currently 66. Cloudy this morning. Another gray day. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 82F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Happy Sunday, everyone.0 -
Good evening;
Today we went and picked strawberries and flowers. They also had dig your own tulip bulbs.
After the critters ate all my tulips in the spring I didn't want to plant any more.
Vix-I hope you find a door. I have been looking for a door that goes from my kitchen to the enclosed breezeway. Right now I have an outside door, but I actually want a wooden door with panes of glass. I haven't found the right one yet, so I will keep looking until I find it. I love a challenge.
Have a good evening.0 -
Tonight I made my take on a copycat recipe for the Skyline Chili vegetarian black beans dish.
I found the recipe here. https://stuffedveggies.blogspot.com/2015/01/copycat-skyline-black-beans-and-rice.html

Good morning.
Jo....looking for the right door is definitely a challenge. Nice that you were able to pick some strawberries and flowers. Strawberries are very healthy and delicious. Flowers are good for the soul.
Ed, that totally looks like comfort food! I hope you enjoyed that.
We had steak last night....I guess we have beef about once a month....it's such a treat when rarely eaten, plus I find the grass fed beef just tastes so much better.
It's been totally rainy/cloudy here for the last few days, but looks like some sunshine this morning.
It's currently 65. Partly cloudy. A stray severe thunderstorm is possible. High 84F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
I have a tele-med visit with my rheumatologist this afternoon. Will see how that goes. Could use some helpful hints.
Another new week. Wishing everyone a good one.0
