Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! 21 (70 F) sunny degrees out there, with an expected toasty high of 33 (91 F) under mostly sunny skies. There is a 24% chance of rain.

I need to get out and pick blueberries this morning, before it gets too hot, and water the tomatoes and bell peppers at some point. I did pick that first tomato yesterday. But we haven't eaten it yet. There are several others that or rapidly ripening and it won't be long until they are ready to pick as well.

And I might get out for a few grocery items but nothing on the list is critical.

    Good morning.
Ed, I love blueberries, it's so great that you have bushes. And home grown tomatoes are always the best.
Irene, the deer ate a lot of our flowers. Devoured about 2 dozen roses on our beautiful little pink rose bush. Hubby has been putting cayenne pepper out since. How's Sammie doing? Sounds like he's still acting like a puppy. :)
Jo, so glad you had a nice time off.
It's currently 69. Beautiful day so far. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 78F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
    Have a good Tuesday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 24 (75 F) sunny degrees out there now, with an expected sizzling high of 32 (90 F) degrees under partly sunny skies. I may get out for a little shopping today and may pick a few tomatoes that are about ready.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's a fairly cool16 (61 Fahrenheit) fair and sunny degrees out there with an expected high of 30 (86 Fahrenheit) under mostly sunny skies.

The lawn crew is out there now, probably shocked at how much more the hedge got reduced since they were here two weeks ago. Just wait until the end of summer when I will probably get around to reducing the height! Right now it needs to recover a bit.

Nothing major on the agenda today.

    Good morning.
Ed, yes, some sizzling weather has been here too, but today looks nice. Good that you have a lawn crew. Probably easier for them with the hedges trimmed back.
My house cleaner is coming today. And I have an appt for PT at the local facility this afternoon. I think I will be able to drive myself.
It should be a nice day, currently 64. Plentiful sunshine. High 77F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
    Happy Wednesday, everyone.

I decided to take advantage of the cooler day and got some more of my own yard work done. We have some evergreens (not sure whether spruce or juniper - J thinks juniper and is most likely right) that grew really fast, over the years, and the lowest branches have been getting in the way for a couple of years, and making it a bit awkward to get to the lower lawn, by the creek, and awkward getting to the gate near the patio, that opens to the lower back yard. So this morning, I went out after breakfast and did a lot of trimming so that we can actually walk under, and around those trees. Then I left the branches where they fell, came in, cooled down, and made our lunches.

After lunch, I went out and dragged all the branches off to stack them where they can stay to eventually become dirt, though that may not happen in my lifetime. LOL.

And now I am cooling off again, and drinking extra Powerade. After a while I will be cooled off enough to take a shower and get properly cleaned up. Those trees dropped all sorts of grit on me while I was shaking them up trimming branches, and then more while I was dragging great bundles of branches.

I know I look like a disaster survivor at the moment, and not just because J told me. But I will get all cleaned up in a while and look more human again. Then I need to change the sheets in the master bedroom and may take a short nap if the mood strikes me. At least I got some definite exercise in today!

I hugged a friend a week or so ago, and got a nice compliment on how solid and muscular I felt, at least to my friend. He asked me what kind of working out I was doing and I told him it was just yard work. I have been doing somewhat heavier yard work this year, once the weather warmed up enough, than in prior years. And to be fair, I used to work out quite a bit, when younger, and never totally lost that muscle, but I don't feel as fit and lean as he seemed to think I am. But then he hasn't seen me in, say, a bathing suit, so doesn't see what I see in the mirror every time I shave.

And that's just fine with me and I will take the compliments where I can get them. LOL.

Ed, I've read several articles that said that walking and gardening are the best exercises we can do as we get older. Yardwork works a lot of muscles! Sounds like you did a ton this morning!
My husband does all the yardwork, and it keeps him in great shape. ( He also works out with weights and a recumbant bike a few times a week.) I am looking forward to getting back to my long walks. (Just PT for now).

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Currently it's 16 (61 F) pleasant, sunny degrees out there with a roasting high of 32 (90 F) expected, under sunny skies as well.

I need to pick blueberries this morning, so that will be my morning exercise I guess. But first, finish my morning beverages and feed the cats.

    Good morning.
I'm so glad my house cleaner is coming every 2 weeks now for a while. It's so nice to have everything clean and shiny.
I was able to drive myself to PT yesterday, just had to move the seat back to get in the car. It's only 10 minutes from home, so I figured it was good for my first drive. I'll be going 3 times a week for the next few weeks and then we'll see. The muscles/tendons/nerves in my thigh, and around my knee are pretty tight and out of whack, so hopefully they can help. The home PT did some massaging which helped a lot, but only lasted a few days, so they'll give me some more massages and some new exercises to fix this. I can walk really well when my knee doesn't hurt, but when it does, I'm limping. It'll be nice once we get this fixed.
It looks like a beautiful day ahead, currently 58. Sunny. High 77F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
    Happy Thursday, everyone.

    Good morning.
PT this afternoon. My knee was really sore yesterday. I'm using my cane again. That helps.
The heat is rolling in. It's currently 58. Sunny to partly cloudy. High near 85F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. I'm glad I don't live where it gets really hot!
    Happy Friday, everyone.

    Howdy y'all. It's fantastic Friday!

It's 18 (64.4 F) sunny degrees out there now, with an expected high of 34 (93.2 F) under mostly sunny skies. There is not any significant chance of rain, today, but there is a flash flood watch already set up for tomorrow afternoon through Sunday evening. At least that coming rain will bring a few days of cooler temperatures again. I will enjoy that.

Not a lot on the agenda today. My thighs are still sore in the front from working on that sloped bit of yard with the evergreens the other day so I can try to let them get a bit more rest.

I do need to do laundry though.

    Good morning.
Ed, good to rest up. I hope your legs are feeling better today.
Mine is a little better than yesterday, but there is not a quick fix. I'll keep using the cane for a while.
No special plans for today. I picked a light blue color to use for our bathroom, still thinking about what to do for the windows.
It's currently 72. Cloudy skies this morning followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. Gusty winds and small hail are possible. High 83F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
    Happy Saturday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! We currently have 22 (71.6 F) partly cloudy degrees, with an expected high of 27 (80.6 F) under overcast skies with 88% chance of rain. And we are going to a pool party anyway. My baked beans are in the oven now. At least with the clouds, it should be a pleasant temperature so I won't overheat at the party. I will likely stay in under the patio anyway, out of the sun.

My thighs are feeling a lot better this morning. All the same, I believe I will minimize my walking and not climb the steps to the pool deck too often, regardless.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous soggy Sunday! Happy fathers day! I am still looking for the hairball that the cats usually give me for fathers day.

It's 21 (69.8 F) degrees out there with a cloud covered high of 27 (80.6 F) expected and an overall 45% chance of rain today. I may, weather permitting, get out for a few groceries.

The party was nice, though a lot of people backed out because of the rain chance. It sprinkled a bit during the party but everyone seemed to be having a good time. There were enough covered areas for people to sit around comfortably and plenty of food. Too much really.

I think I heard the last gasp gurgle from the teapot so will head into the kitchen.

Ed, glad you enjoyed the party. We had a few little sprinkles too, but not really enough to chase me off the deck. I came in when it got too hot. Glad your legs are feeling better.
    Just for you, Ed.

It's curently 71 and cloudy. Sun and clouds mixed today. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High near 90F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

    Happy Father's Day!
My daughter and I are going to a Farmers market in the next town over.
Well my co-worker that gave his 2 weeks notice decided to stay. Friday he got caught stealing and was fired. Only one more to go and hopefully all the drama will be over.
I decided to work until full retirement age, so I will be working another 1 1/2years.
Ed-yard work is very good exercise.
Vix-I hope your knee feels better soon.
Our weather has been in the 80's for the past few days.
    Enjoy your day!

Jo, I know you enjoyed the Farmers market. There must be a lot of great fruits and veggies...summer already! Glad one of your awful co-workers is gone, hope the other one follows. Now that you've decided when you're going to retire, you'll be surprised how fast that year and a half go. I decided a year ahead, and that year just flew by.
Ed, I wish I had blueberries to pick! I always keep frozen ones so I can have them whenever I want. Today it's going to be hotter here than in GA!
It's currently 72 F. Cloudy this morning. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High 93F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
There was a hummingbird by our yellow lillies today. I love seeing hummingbirds.
I have a PT appt at noon. I may return some books to the library while I'm out, or I can do that tomorrow. I'll probably be in the AC the rest of the day.
Wishing everyone a good new week.

Ed, looks like more comfort food. Do you think maybe the spices kept you awake? I had problems falling asleep last night too...maybe the weather...or I had a sugary treat...that may have done it...and my leg was bothering me, some combo of all of that. I got up and read for about an hour and 1/2 then went back to bed. Important to get sleep.
We had some pretty big t-storms last evening, lots of nearby lightning and a few electricity gaps. Another rainy day here. It's currently 66F. Cloudy with showers. Thunder possible. High around 70F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Have a good day, everyone. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! 18 (64.4 F) sunny degrees here, with an expected high of 29 (84.2 F) under partly sunny skies, and little to no chance of rain. I may get out there to pick some more blueberries this morning, and there is always house cleaning calling, especially with a long haired black cat. Orion has already spent some time in my lap this morning.

My tea mug is nearly empty, so time for a refill.

Happy Anniversary Irene! Hope it's a great day for you two!
