Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!
It's currently 18 mostly cloudy degrees out there. We have an expected high of only 20, with skies remaining mostly cloudy, and a 15% chance of rain overall. And yet it also says a 58% chance of rain until 8:00 a.m. so I really don't have a clue how they figure the percentages.
Today I need to try to slip into Kroger to pick up some drain cleaner, and drop off some canned food as a donation to a rescue group, since Kiara and Dinah decided they didn't really care for it. Especially Kiara. If Dinah got hungry enough, she would eventually eat it, but Kiara apparently despised it.
I found one with similar health properties that they seem to like, so the remaining 18 cans of the one they don't like will be donated. Oddly, they like the kibble that matches the canned food they didn't like. But we have had that experience before.
Lilo loved the kibble version of the prescription food she needed, but had an aversion to the canned version, so we had to do the best we could to get her a canned food that would be acceptable, and still provide somewhat similar health benefits. It seemed to work well for her, as she had a good, long life with us.
Hope you are feeling better Vix. One of my brothers had Covid early this year and said it was pretty awful. He's vaccinated now, of course, as are all of my other siblings, and my mother. I hope everyone who attended the party was vaccinated as well.

Good morning.
Well, my daughter and grandson were negative, my son-in-law had a false positive on the rapid test, and my husband thinks maybe we did too, so we're going to get the full tests on Monday. I'm still feeling a little sick, but it could be something else. If it's something else, I'm definitely going to find a new Dr.! What a mess for everyone.
Anyhow, quarantining until we know for sure.
It's currently 70F, partly cloudy skies this morning. Thunderstorms likely during the afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High around 75F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.
Wishing everyone a good weekend.

Hopefully it's just a cold. When bought a two pack of rapid tests at Walgreens, because of feeling ill, shortly before our nephew's wedding, the instructions were to do it once, then wait at least 36 hours, and do the other one. Both turned out negative.
I am gathering that a lot of the more rapid tests have a lot of false positives, so it may not be your doctor's fault, but you would think the doctor would have recommended a second test a couple of days after the first one tested positive.
Still best, of course, to quarantine until you are sure.
And regardless, hope you are feeling better sooner rather than later!

Good morning;
Vix-sorry you are not feeling well. Good luck on Monday with the test. I hope it is negative.

Good morning.
Thanks again. I wish this whole mess of the pandemic were over, hopefully it will be at least taken down to the level of the flu. Pretty much taking it easy this weekend. My pumpkin bread is gone, maybe I'll bake something else.
It's currently 49F, cooler today and tomorrow. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 62F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Wishing everyone a relaxing Sunday.0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! We have a cool 7 (46 F) degree morning here wit an expected high of only 20 (68 F) under sunny skies.
The dishwasher is running, and I may start some laundry later.
Hoping it all turns out well, Vix!

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! We currently have a chilly and clear 6 degrees out there with an expected high of 22 under sunny skies and a 1% chance of precipitation, that 1% probably to cover their rear ends if a drop happens to fall SOMEWHERE in the area.
I need to get yesterday's laundry folded, and, being a workday, some paid word done.
Good luck with the testing, Vix!

Good morning.
It's currently 47F, sunshine and a few clouds. High 64F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Not sure if I'm going to bother with the testing. The rapid tests are 80-90% accurate supposedly. Will see if I feel like it later. It's just kind of depressing.
Another new week. Wishing everyone a good one.0 -
Good morning.
I went for the test yesterday. It came out negative, so I guess if I had it, it's gone. Still not feeling 100%, but a bit better.
My husband's rapid was positive, so still dealing with some craziness.
It should be a nice day to sit in the sun.
It's currently 43F, abundant sunshine expected today. High near 70F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Looks like a nice day out, but I dove right into work first thing this morning. I wanted to do some more proofreading on a user guide I had pretty much finished. Technically, I am the Quality Assurance department. I am the whole department.
But most employees have more than one job, Sometimes I can get a little stalled waiting for the developers to make major changes, and, while I can still find plenty of little things to test on, there is a bit more time to throw at other tasks.
J asked me to devote any spare time to documenting how some of the software packages are supposed to work, since I am, by necessity, going through the software to see if it does work as expected, and to try to break it.
Apparently this documentation has been, historically, falling by the wayside as everyone had more important things to do. Hopefully we will catch up at some point and the training manager can at least take over the documentation I complete, and start maintaining it. She is her whole department right now too, and I know how busy she is.
On the home front, I am gradually getting that laundry folded, in fits and starts. It hurt my back and hips to stand there folding for a long time, so I have been doing it by categories. Sheets and towels are now done.
Lunch break is over and Kiara is demanding attention.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! I slept a little later than intended. It's a chilly 8 partly cloudy degrees right now and we expect a high of 25 under mostly sunny skies with a 2% chance of precipitation.
Country ham and whole grain flapjacks for breakfast. Hopefully I will get a little more laundry folded on breaks and during lunch.

Hi.
Ed, sounds like work is keeping you busy.
It's currently 69F. Sunny. High 73F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.
Hubby's PCR was positive and they recommended the antibodies for him, so we took a road trip this a.m. and got that done.
Will go enjoy the rest of this sunny day!1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! We currently have 13 (56 F) mostly cloudy degrees with an expected high of 24 (75 F) under mostly sunny skies. We do have a 32% chance of rain and those mostly sunny skies are ONLY expected for an hour or so this afternoon when the high temperature is expected. The rest of the day is expected to be cloudy, and there is a good chance of scattered thunderstorms this evening.
Nothing critical on the home front today. I had a whole grain power waffle, cheese, sausage, egg sandwich for breakfast.

Currently 49F, plentiful sunshine. High around 75F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Will enjoy some of the beautiful weather today.
Happy Thursday, everyone.0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! We currently have 16 (60 F) mostly cloudy degrees with an expected high of 22 (72 F) under mostly cloudy skies, and a 4% chance of rain.
Nothing critical on the home front today, though I may try to get out to a grocery store for some kind of salad makings.
I had a honeynut squash yesterday. It's very like a butternut, but darker. Quite tasty. I still have a small butternut squash to eat, and a small acorn squash. J doesn't care for the winter squash family, other than perhaps made into a pumpkin pie, so these are all mine! I may make some butternut squash bisque. I haven't made, or eaten, any of that in ages.
Well, since I am up I think I will get started on work early today.

Good morning.
Jo!!!
Wishing you a fun day, and a wonderful year ahead!
It's currently 56F, sunshine and a few clouds. High around 65F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Ed, I really enjoy the winter squashes. I make a lot of butternut squash soup/bisque. I had spaghetti squash this week. It was delicious. I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies yesterday. Yum, but of course, my scale yelled at me this morning!
Have a good day, everyone. Enjoy the sunshine if it comes your way.1 -
happy birthday Jo0

Well I didn't get out to the grocery but I did have some groceries delivered, including salad. It's been a long week, and I think I will have pizza as a side dish for my salad tonight.0
-
Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! We have 8 (47 F) chilly, sunny degrees out there now with an expected high of 24 (75 F) under sunny skies. I did have pizza with my salad last night but also ordered pasta primavera and some chicken wings. Breakfast was pizza.
I won't have to cook much this weekend. I plan to stir some diced ham into the pasta primavera, which I did not even open last night, and maybe some diced sweet peppers as well, to bulk it up, then maybe a little extra cheese and milk and re-bake it. I should be able to get several meals from it then.
Nothing critical on the home front this weekend.

Hi
Currently 60 and pretty cloudy. Expected to be sun and clouds mixed. High 61F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph, a little chilly.
Ed, nice that you get a break from cooking, though you seem to enjoy it.
Hi Irene, hope all is going well.
Hi Jo, Jan, and Val.
I just finished exercising and lunch, will probably relax with my book this afternoon.
Happy Saturday, everyone.0 -
Good morning,
Thank you for the birthday wishes.
Vix-I hope you and hubby are feeling better.
Irene-how is Sammy doing?
Hi Ed.
I am on vacation this week. I plan on painting the dining room, since I didn't get to do it on
my vacation in Sept. due to my shoulder. Also just declutter and straighten up thing that I don't have time for with working full time.
Today we are going to the last farmer's market of the season. I will miss all the fresh veggies that come straight from the farms.
Have a relaxing Sunday!

Good morning.
Jo, I hope you had a great birthday. Enjoy your week off, don't work too hard, take some time to relax. Have fun at the farmer's market.
Thanks, we are feeling better. Hubby will probably get retested tomorrow or Tuesday to make sure he is now negative, but his 10 days are up today. He's going to stay home until he tests negative. I'll do some extra cleaning/disinfecting today. I'm planning to go grocery shopping tomorrow, but I will continue to fully mask up when I go out.
It's currently 49F, cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 67F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Happy Sunday, everyone. Relax and enjoy.0 -
Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! We currently have 8 foggy degrees with an expected high of 25 under mostly cloudy skies and a 2% chance of rain.
My next fruit and vegetable box order is in, and there is a lot of salad stuff I selected for this Misfits order, along with assorted fruits and a few vegetables for stir frying.
I need to get some house cleaning done, and prepare the hall bathroom to be a cat haven for our nephew's cat, Buttons. This is the nephew who just got married but now he and his wife are moving back in with J's sister, to try to save money toward a down payment on a house at some point. Since she has a cat hating dog, we will be fostering the cat. V say's he wants her back, but we'll see how that works out. When one of my sisters had to give up her cat because of allergies, she kind of wanted her back after several years, having been through the allergy treatments, but that cat was my precious darling Lilo. She had totally bonded with me, and though she seemed to recognize my sister, my sister realized it would be traumatic to Lilo to try to rehome her back to her house. So I got to keep my best girl, all the way to her tragic end earlier this year. I still miss her, but the pain has dulled. My sister has adopted other cats in the interval, and she is very happy with them.
Anyway, J will be home late tonight with the new cat. As I said, we'll see whether V ever gets her back. If he takes too long to get it together, he may not even really want her back by the time he is able to take her, or she may not want to go.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! We currently have 12 fair degrees out there, with an expected high of 26 under cloudy skies and a 30% chance of rain.
J is home, with Buttons securely housed in the hall bathroom until we can be sure it's safe to let her out to general population without encountering total mayhem. Right now she is cowering at the back corner of the bathtub shelf, and not looking very happy, but hopefully she will be feeling less shocked soon. It does look like she at least tasted the food I left for her.
Our nephew forgot to give J the rest of her food from up there (that's the way J put it...) and apparently not her litter box either. Fortunately we had a spare disposable litter box in the garage.
Of course J seems to have forgotten to ask for the food or litter box too, so I am not putting that on our nephew. At any rate she is safely here, though she really looks terrified. She probably smells the other three cats and doesn't know how to deal with that.
This is Buttons when she looks happy.
And now, cowering in the corner.

Good morning.
It's currently 58F, looking mostly sunny and pretty out. Forecast for partly cloudy early. Thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 77F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
I'll be getting out to face the world today, need to do some grocery shopping. Hubby's off to see if he can get a negative test result.
Ed, Buttons is very pretty. I'm sure it'll take her a little while to get used to things. I know you're good with pets, and I hope everything works out well. I'm sure it's nice for you to have J back too.
Another new week. Wishing everyone a good one.1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! We currently have 12 (53 F) degrees under cloudy skies, with an expected high of 19 (66 F) under mostly cloudy skies and a 2% chance of rain.
I need to get some laundry folded, and some more laundry washed and dried.
And today we take Buttons for a vet checkup. She was feeling a lot better by the end of the day yesterday and I saw, this morning, that she ate all the food I had left. J spent quite a bit of time in there with her, talking to her quietly and giving her a spot of familiarity to help anchor her. She will get more food when I feed the others, a bit later this morning. She might as well start getting used to our schedule now.

Good morning.
Ed, glad Buttons is getting comfortable. You 2 are good cat parents.
Hubby tested negative yesterday, and they told him he is no longer contagious. Yay!
It's currently 57F here, showers and gusty winds this morning becoming a steady light rain during the afternoon hours. High 61F. Winds WNW at 20 to 30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. It rained a lot last night.
I need to color my hair today. Nothing else special on my todo list.
Happy Tuesday, everyone.
