    Hi all.
Irene, I agree with Jo and Roger, they must have liked your work if they had you training people.
Jo, hope you're doing well. Hope your laptop dries out and starts back up.
Roger, I go to a massage therapist every 2 weeks and the chiropractor once a month....I can go more often if I want. I don't take medication on a regular basis, except now for the infusions. I'll take a couple of Alleve when pains get severe. That's about it. I have a prescription for Diazapam, but I've read that it's really unsafe as you get older, so even the small dosage, I haven't taken one in a long time. I've learned to live with most of the aches and pains...just trying to prevent/slow down further deterioration/degeneration/worsening. I have an appt with the rheumatologist in 3 weeks...I ask him about what else I can do. I really prefer natural methods. I've been reading a lot about diets (for health more than for weight loss). It's interesting, but also very confusing because of the conflicting information.
3 of us showed up at painting class this morning, which is pretty good because the actual class was cancelled. We stay and paint anyway. :)

    Good afternoon;
My laptop turns on and I can open google chrome but then nothing works and I can't even close it out. I guess I will take it to the apple store and see what they tell me. I have had this one since 2009,so maybe it is time for a new one.
It is a little cooler than yesterday, but still nice and sunny. We just have patchy snow on the lawns.
Vix-have the dr. ever suggested a neck brace? Does you neck hurt all the time or just when sitting and looking down at the computer, TV, painting, ceramics?
I am fighting a chest cold right now. I can feel all the congestion rattling around in my chest, but am not coughing much or raising anything. I took cough medicine for chest congestion yesterday and a few hours later I felt a little light headed. I don't know if it was the cough medicine or I just have a bug.
Roger-I am not a big fan of the protein shakes, so I usually make them with water and drink fast.
    Time to do laundry.
    Have a good evening. :)

Jo, I hope you feel better...chicken soup? , tea and honey?, heating pad?
My neck hurts all the time, sometimes more, sometimes less (I know I have a pinched nerve and my disks are degenerated, so this may be the best I can do) ...I've tried lots of different pillows and I have a neck brace, but the only one who suggested that was an orthopedic Dr. I need to start making my list of questions for the rheumatologist!
There was a lot of melting here today, but still a big mess of snow. Things were a little icy this morning, but I think it's supposed to warm up over the next few days.
Have a good night, everyone! :)

    Good morning.
Well, the plow came by last night, so we now have the pile of snow at the end of our driveway, but I'm pretty sure I can drive through it to get out and go to the gym this morning. Schools are still closed. Supposed to get up to 34F today, but will warm up over the weekend, which should take care of most of the remaining snow. :)
Up early, enjoying the quiet, still dark outside. Have a good day, everyone. Happy Friday! :)

hi all , came home early yesterday felt like I was coming down with something I feel so much better just took it easy I have a lot of saved time so there was no problem. I believe you are amazon is getting harder they come up with new rules every day . Believe I am still training I trained some people on Monday I thought that was strange I did speak to my manager about it He told me I was his best trainer and he wanted me to train them so I trained . I did let the people in learning know so there would be no problems but they were fine with it. I have mixed feelings about it .Well we went for our regular walk this morning it has been a week since we did this felt good. A couple of summers ago my phone fell in the lake I thought I killed my phone but I took the battery out and put in in a container with rice left it there for about 4 days and when I put it back in it worked so you can try that well take care talk to everyone later

    Hi
I was out walking today already, somewhat warmer than Yesterday too. On my return before breakfast I packed up some old too large clothes to go to the Salvation Army bins at the recycling center. I still need to do a whip through of the closet as I believe I have more in there to go through and check. Banana before the walk and NS Waffles + NS Chocolate Protein Shake for Breakfast.

I tried the Salt & Vinegar Snack-A-Rounds the other day. I ate two and that was all I could choke down so I passed them to my brother who eats most of the NS foods I did not like, such as the Hot & Spicy ones. He tried one and more or less said Yuck :) so I dumped the rest and had something else for my Evening Dessert. No stars from me. Now I need to figure out what to do with the other package of them, maybe the Food Collection tray at the Library. One more to try, the Creamy ranch.

As Always try one for Yourself as what I do not like others do. I can only assume that they must have taste tested them and they got the OK so it could be me :)

    Have a Nice Friday
    Roger

    Hi Vix
I am not surprised that there is conflicting advice on Diet for health. Look at the conflicting advice for weight loss :)

Are the Infusions helping? I seem to remember You were not getting an immediate result from them. I dropped medicines that had no effect, I'm down to one that is a maintenance drug to ensure I do not get a gout attack. I had one in the 70s and never want another one!

It sounds as if You enjoyed the painting non-class :)

The snow was crunchy underfoot when I went out this morning, OTOH I did not slip so that is to the good. I ended up with six paper grocery bags full of clothes that we dropped of at the Salvation Army Bins at the recycle yard, Mostly mine that are way to large and some from my brother. I still have a closet in the basement that has work clothes from the 80s & 90s in assorted sizes. They need a little more work as I should remove the company Logo badge and my name tag.

I may head out again for a short walk to Dunkin Donuts and get a decaf to drink while I wander around. I was not able to get my full steps count as some of the sidewalks are not shoveled and that street would be dangerous to walk in, so a extra shorter walk will get my steps in.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi Joanne
If it were my laptop I would take it apart and unhook things except for the touchpad and see if I could pin down the problem. I have had that approach work on a customers Toshiba laptop. They decided they did not need that button/light strip as they never used those buttons anyway. I had another Toshiba where a defective keyboard killed it that was detected the same way, that one I was able to get a warranty keyboard from ASP support easily enough. We did Warranty work for Toshiba & Lenovo computers and HP printers. The Lenovo was the hardest as they had tough tests to take for many different models and I had to pass those before I could work on different type of computers.

I do like the NS protein shakes, especially the now gone Strawberry and I do like the Coffee one followed by the Chocolate one. The Vanilla is OK by itself but blend in some fruit such as Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries and especially very ripe Bananas and excellent.

It does sound as if it could be something in the cough medicine, maybe the alcohol or mild OTC type narcotics.

Good Luck & Get well quickly

I used the container of rice with the flash drive I ran through the washer and so far so good. I was unhappy as it was my largest one at 256Gb :)

I feel different if I miss my walk.

    Good Luck with Amazon

    Good afternoon
I am happy to report that my computer is functioning. The tough pad is working only when it wants to. I have a wireless mouse that I use, so I am back in business.
Irene-glad you are feeling better. I am coughing more today, but other than that I feel fine.
Roger-With all the clothes you have been donating, I think a shopping trip is in order for a new wardrobe.
The last of the siding went up today. I hope he works tomorrow to finish up. If not it will probably be Monday.
    Have a good evening.

Jo, glad your computer is working...yay! Hope your cough gets better. House is almost done!
Roger, good that you're walking at all in this mess! :) You're a trooper.
I don't know if the infusions are working or not....that's one of the main things I'm going to talk to the Dr. about. Because of overlapping conditions, I'm never sure which one(s) is/are causing the pain. My husband thinks I give up on treatments too easily, and that's part of why I am trying to stick with this....but if it's not helping....I think the doc will be honest with me, hopefully.
Irene, hope you are feeling better and enjoying your time off.
Have a good night, everyone. :)

    Good morning!
We just went out and got a big cabinet for my office. It's very nice. My daughter and son-in-law will come over later to help us get it into the house. In the mean while, I need to clean up my office and make room for it. :)
Sun is shining....they're finally working on clearing our roads.
Have a great day, everyone. :)

    Hi
A little cold outside this morning, Warmer later and for a few more days. I walked a route I have not been on since the Snowfall as I was not sure if the sidewalks would be shoveled due to where they run. I had to walk in the highway for 50 feet to get around a snowbank so I waited for a red light, no problem. Weekends there is much less traffic then in the weekday rush hour so it was feasible and safe.

Got a coupon for a free 24 oz. travel cup with the purchase of a medium or larger beverage + $1.69 refills through April 30 from Dunkin Donuts so Tomorrow Dunkin Donuts for me. Hopefully they are not out of them by then.

    Have a Good Weekend
    Roger

    Hi Joanne
Good news about the computer. It sounds as if You never take it with You? If so have You thought about a All-In-One when You replace it? That way You can have a bigger screen and only the keyboard is exposed to spills. I use one from Lenovo that has a decent size screen and minimal footprint. If I switched to wireless for the keyboard and mouse and printer I would only have the wire from the power adapter running to it. And that power adapter looks like a laptop adapter.

Well as to shopping I have been slowly replacing clothes and do not need much of anything right now nor do I like shopping TBH :)

Hopefully Your house is done shortly.

    Good Luck with that cough

    Hi Vix
I am lucky I only have a couple of minor health problems so deciding to drop the prescriptions was easy, after trying multiple ones over a period of months and no change I just dropped them and that specialist too. It was not the expense, it was the also the extra trip monthly for what did not help.

    Good Luck at the Doctors

    Hi Irene
I am currently at just over 8k steps, most of which were todays walk. If I were not walking for a while I would ease back into it too.

Good Luck whatever You decide to do. I know I have to think and rethink important decisions

    Good afternoon;
I had my car washed today. It was covered in road salt.
The contractor is here finishing up a few things. He also said he would be back tomorrow.
Roger-I carry my laptop from room to room wherever I am. I don't have an office any more, I converted it into an exercise room.
Vix-Did you get a filing cabinet or one to store craft supplies?
Irene-great job getting your steps in. How many do you average in a day? Do you use a fitbit for tracking your steps?
If so, message me your email address and I will friend you on fitbit. Same goes for you Roger.
    Enjoy your weekend. :)

Jo, it's really a very nice book cabinet that I got with 3 shelves on each side, 2 small drawers on the bottom and sliding glass doors. I'm going to use it for books and craft supplies, but it's almost too nice for that...I'll get those fold up usually canvas baskets for the craft supplies. I may also put some of my finished pottery in there. :)
Roger, cool about the travel mug! I don't buy any prescriptions either....it's just the infusions now and basically supplements or otc pain relievers.
The kids got the cabinet in my room for me...it looks wonderful. :)

    It feels like spring. :)
Irene-Where did you send your email? I don't have any messages. I noticed that there aren't many choices either, so that is why I switched plans, so I could order some frozen items.
I am going to take pictures of the house and will post them later. I am very happy with the way it came out. :)

    Hi
It was a little chilly out this morning, I walked to the Dunkin Donuts for my Coffee and used the coupon for a free 24 ounce Refillable coffee cup, Cup comes with $1.69 refills until the end of April :) When I looked at the cup closer I see that it has a covering that changes what is displayed depending on Your viewing angle.

I hit 7901 steps by the time I got back home. The sidewalks are getting a little better each day as the snow melts, excluding a few spots such as slopes at driveways where the snow melts and runs down the slope causing a icy spot until the sun can melt it.

    Have a Great Sunday

    Hi Joanne
I use a Fitbit Zip to track steps, but do not really use the forums there at all :)

Well that eliminates a large screen display then.

I am now back from the grocery store where I bought some Light & Fit Greek 4 packs @$3.33 and some Atkins Dinner Entrees to try and Jimmy Dean Delights using coupons, Coupons on the Yougurts if over $7 hence the 3 @ $3.33, it was the four packs or the 10 for $10 and that made the four packs a lot cheaper. Then Some No Sugar Added Vlasic Bread & Butter Spears on sale @ $1.99, Shoprite Frozen Vegetables @ $0.88 and $1.50 off coupon if $6, $0.75 coupon for Breakstone Cottage cheese, Total on sale savings + Coupon was $22.39.

    I love a bargain.

Steps now up to 9631 for the morning to noontime today.

    Have a Nice Day

    Hi Irene
I have now officially gone past my goal for the day in total steps, I look to be at 10K steps and already up to 9600+ and going back out later keeping my brother company in his travels.

You could add $50 A La Carte Frozen any time and get free shipping to try it out. I believe if You add it to Your regular order You save 20% and if You use a NS Gift card from Costco at current prices you save $20 per $100 face value too.

I need to call NS regarding the email titled Limited Time Only. Buy One, Get One Free A La Carte! and pay for it with a Gift card too. Make sure it is still in effect.

I did notice they added a bunch of Shelf Stable Desserts / Snacks recently FWIW.

    Good Luck
