2157045gp85zev8ri.gif I revised my weight training routine to make it easier to keep track of and have redoubled my efforts to reach my goal of doing the routine twice a week. Today I completed it while Jake was gone---this was the 4th time this month so I am on track for twice a week.

Also walked the dogs for about two hours and walked by myself for 30 minutes and worked in the yard for about 15 minutes and rode the exercise bike.

Showering. I swear that was my exercise for the day. And coughing. I went to the pool and tried to swim. I managed to make 30 minutes in the pool but the chlorine level was so bad I was itching like crazy and it kicked my asthma up. I promptly went to the poolside shower and rinsed off and let the steam hit my face to ease the lung spasms. Then I went into the locker room shower and did the same thing except I scrubbed hard with soap. Then I watched Iris dive off the diving block at the deep end of the pool. She just learned to do that yesterday. And for a 5 yr old that is brave. Then I went back in the shower and scrubbed up 3 more times. I left the pool still clawing myself raw. I went home and immediately crawled into the shower and scrubbed up twice again. Right after that I went to church where I finished brushing Iris's hair and then used the hairbrush to scratch my back. I swear I burned more calories scrubbing and scratching than I did walking or swimming.

Week 5 Day 2 of C25k and hit 12,000 steps yesterday. Today is more walking, and a visit to my trainer tonight. Weights, legs and shoulders.

She wants to switch up my routine in September. She's thrilled about my new 'plan', which means I'm terrified.

Ok. This is going to sound really bad but I am going to abandon all swimming this week. I reacted to the chlorine badly yesterday. I ended up taking 7 showers just to mostly relieve the itching. Today I walked down 4 steps into the pool stopped and scratched my legs and said done. I scrubbed twice in the shower already and my legs are still slimy from it. So I am going to avoid swimming until next Monday to let the pool circulate and my skin heal. I will just have to go upstairs to the cross trainer and bike like I was doing before school let out.

:'( Esther, I'm so sorry that the chlorine is keeping you away from the pool and causing you so much pain and anguish

On a happier note after scrubbing with salt scrub all over my poor body last night I don't itch anymore. :o I even had to use it on my face. That was a little rough but necessary. I rode the stationary bike for 15 minutes and the cross trainer for 10 while Iris had swimming.

18 holes of golf with the food I packed to fit in with my allotted calories. Beautiful day outdoors and a break from cleaning out our dads house for yard sale on Saturday.

I finally figured out how to lose kids. I left my house with one dog and one kidlette. Walked a mile and picked up two more kidlettes. Walked a quarter mile back and lost one kidlette to her friends and walked the remaining two to their shortcut three houses away from their house. I walked the rest of the way with just the dog. It was kinda nice I must say. Took me about 40 minutes to go round trip. But keep in mind he last 20 minutes was all up hill

Bike for 5 minutes. Knee too sore to go any longer. So I decided to try a treadmill. I wanted to watch Iris swim and the treadmills are in the window overlooking the pool. I realized today that my normal slow speed is faster than I thought. I was actually walking my normal speed with the treadmill ate at 2.8 mph. Oops. I always thought I was walking less than 2 mph. So all my previous loggings for walking were way off. So when I walk the dogs I am actually walking faster than 3 mph!!!!!! Didn't know I had it in me!!!! I was on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

I've gotten more serious and committed about strength training and did a workout yesterday based on strong lifts 5X5.....I'm getting stronger so I'm going to order heavier dumbbells so I can lift heavier and get the most out of the workout

Yard sale yesterday. So much moving and walking. Always dread them before but always so glad to get rid of the stuff.

The Rescue Mission came and got what was left. So good purging all around.

2157045gp85zev8ri.gif I did my weight training routine again today. It took about 55 minutes. Because I'm doing it at home, I can watch something I recorded on my DVR and use the 30-60 second rests between sets to fold laundry. I added some weight to the lifts I'm doing by wearing 5 pound wrist weights. That will do until the adjustable dumbbells I ordered come in. The new dumbbells will be adjustable up to about 50 pounds on each dumbbell...total 100 pounds for a lift. Since the heaviest I am doing now is 40 pounds, they should be good for a long time.

Weights this morning; tricep and chest. Was everything I could do to stay off the scale at the gym today; I feel super skinny!!! Nice change from "fat days". Lol!

:) It really helps me to start my day with the long dog walk before I go anywhere else, so even if I'm busy the rest of the day, I have 10,000+ steps.
