    Janice,

that is a really tough situation, I absolutely understand how you feel as well as your husbands thoughts. maybe you try it out and see how it goes, you can visit often. caretaking is a very cumbersome job and it sounds like she feels safe at the home. maybe just see how it goes. if it does not seem to be working well, you an make adjustments. you are a good sister, remember that!!

Barbie, sending healing thoughts your way. hope you feel better!!

    have a great day everyone

Good morning, misfit losers! Happy Friday!

Janice..we are here for you. Being a caregiver is difficult, and it is good your husband is open to the idea if that is what you want. The advantage you have, though, is being able to visit her on a daily/weekly basis. Can you also take her out for a day or overnight outing..like on holidays?

Marie..you should be getting a lot of rain right now in Texas. Let us know if you are okay.

Barbie..hope things work out and she sounds like a great doctor! I will probably be having an MRI, too. The cortisone shot lasted about 2 days and the pain returned so we need to see what's going on with the knee. I do not like taking the prescribed anti-inflammatory meds everyday because of the many side effects, but when I don't take them, it's hard to exercise or walk. My appointment with my orthopedist is next week.

Another beautiful day and still on the warm side. At least the mornings are cool. I'm going to continue to purge the attic stuff today.

Make it a great day, losers!

Thanks for your thoughts on the nursing home situation. For now. I guess the nursing home is the best place for her, they are constantly changing her medicine trying to make her more comfortable and to breath better. I think eventually she will be able to go out for the day. We'll have to find out more on that, later. At this point we just need to see how it goes and if she stays happy there. Have a good day. Janice <3 my daughters are about your sister age. I would be very sad if they had to stay in a nursing home.. is it close enough to visit often,. I do believe she made the right decision.. It would be way to much for you., She knows you love her. and have her best interest at heart I know she appreciate those lovely treats you take her

Barbie <3 thanks for the updates on your legs I am glad you cut your walking and other exercode down. If they continue cut down some more.I think you know when

Marie-It is pretty close, it takes about 30 minutes to get there. My other 2 sisters live closer, and so does my neice. We try to rotate so we all dont go the same day. One sister drops in almost everyday, she is like 5 minutes away. She loves the food we bring her, but if you ask if she wants anything, she says no, so we just try to bring her something usually, she needs to eat. I guess everyone is right it is the best place for her right now. Janice

Janice- Sorry to hear about your sister my thoughts are with you. <3 It seems she is in the best place with all medical
care she needs right now. If she comfortable staying there, then she knows that is where she should be right now.
Just go and visit and spend your time with her right now.

Connie - I do have it set for Public right now and its still says INVITE. I guess I will just let it go for now.

194904olsgis3xqe.gif I taught my line dance class today and it was great fun. I got a round of applause when I told them that I missed them and was glad to be back. I taught a new dance that was very well received :)

:)Janice, None of us would want to be living in a care home of any sort right now, but maybe your sister feels safer knowing that there is someone available 24/7 to meet her health needs.

:)Connie, right now the only pain med I'm taking is ibuprofen, but I can't do that forever. I'm ok to dance and walk the dogs so, staying in the moment, I am fine.

Just checking in after a long day!
-Connie, I predict you will find out that you have a meniscus problem. Mine was caused from squatting repeatedly while cleaning. Mine has healed and causes very minor problems after about 6 months.
    Come on rain!!!

Connie they do not expect the hurricane to influence us too much. But the rain we have has up to now has just been fantastic for us., We are in no danger here unless a tornado should hit. But so far none has hit around here/

Got great news yesterday. My son is coming in Next weekend. To go fishing with my brother and also his company gave him 4 tickets to the Dallas Football game next weekend I asked him what day was my day and he said Monday.

I found some good TV Gluten free Dinners by Lean Cusine market place. pretty good along width an other veggies or salad But I am cooking a one pot cabbage casserole today With ground lean turkey, rice. Garlic and etc.
For breakfast it is going to be Baked eggs with peppers, onions, cheese

Janice I think you made the right decision for the time being.

Barbie now don't overdo it. Remember moderations. Just like you do your food.

    Love to all.

Rain here today too. I was up early and went to our mass choir rehearsal with 6 other choirs. There were supposed to be
10 but since they changed the date of the opening of the Performing Arts Center we are down to 6. We had 5 different
directors and everyone sounded amazing. It should be a great concert in November.

Now just checking out recipes for dinner tonight I would like to make a crockpot meal if i find what I want.

    Have a great day.

Its raining here in Ky today, I made brownies and we ate 2 of them each. They were 170 each in calories. I need to give most of them away, they are my downfall. Thats why I dont have them around me hardly anymore. I also have a ham in the oven for dinner. I am going to make a big salad in alittle bit. We are just hanging around the house today, no big plans.Janice

We finished this weeks project today. So happy about that. Made a booth for our son and daughter in law. They have a picture frame business and go to arts and crafts shows! She will have it looking great when they set it up at a show.

We cleaned out my sisters apartment today, its empty now. Most of everthing was taken to my neices basement, the other my sister took. I didnt want anything except a nice mirror she had. I didnt want a bunch of stuff I had to find a place for, again I don't like clutter. In fact my daughter moved in to a new apartment this weekend andI am giving her 2 large pictures and a nice stainless garbage can I got while I was still working at Lowes, so I am still downsizing. It was sad to do, but had to be done, she has been paying rent and not living there for over 7 months, except about 3 weeks, plus since she has decided to stay in the nursing home. I am tired so I think I will turn in soon. Janice

Good morning, misfit losers! Happy Monday!

Nancy..you and your hubs are quite the builders! What an awesome project!

Janice..I do not like clutter either and will not take unneeded stuff to the new house! I am glad you had your sisters to help you with that.

Marie..hope your leak has been fixed so you can get back to normal. I know you are excited about your son's visit!

I am cutting back on carbs for the next few weeks to see if I can get things moving AGAIN. It's been three months and there has only been a slight in my weight. Cutting back carbs means lower calories, but I will limit my cardio and continue with strength training twice a week. At some point, I will find the right mix for my body.

Make it a great day, losers!

lets just keep working on it.
The Sun is shinning and a brand new week
all we need to do is make the right choice. And hope it works.

    Good morning everyone,

Wow, So happy to report we have had 4 inches of rain since Saturday night.
    We needed it soooo much.

-Marie, Hope you have your plumbing problem solved. Enjoy your son's visit.

-Connie, How many carbs do you plan on having everyday? I can't cut too low or
I start having problems with low blood sugar and sleep problems!!! I do ok if I keep
around 75-100 grams/day. I have been having some Adkins meals for the last few weeks.

NANCY - That is a great booth, I am sure your son and DIL will love it. You sure are handy with a hammer. :)

CONNIE - I wish I could find the right mix too. Still at the losing game and will be for a while. I am also not a person
that likes clutter. My hubby is the one that brings things home all time. :(

MARIE - Keep safe with that rain you are getting. I will check out for link to the cabbage dish.

JANICE - Cleaning out an apt or house is a big chore but seems to be one that had to be done. Less stress
now for the family. I hope your sister enjoys her new home now and the around the clock care she will be getting. <3

BARBIE - Your leg pain has not slowed you down one bit. You are a role model. B)

I had Yoga class today but also just got back from a nice walk. It is so nice out, still cool but a great autumn
day for walking. I got a call from my daughter #2 and she said Isaac just had his shot from the doctor and he
weighs 20 lbs. now. She said the nurse said I think he will be a tall boy. On Nov 3rd he will be 7 months already.

    Have a good evening friends.

    hi ladies,

hope everyone is doing well!! I am a little off the wagon. I say a little as it has been more picking then an overall fall off. it was a very stressful week for so many reasons. just need to own it and get back on.

nancy, very impressed with the booth

connie, what's the new plan? I don't think I can cut out anymore carbs. but I will tell you when I eat them at night, I am definitely up the next day:( I hope the new program brings you success.

Janice, I hope your sister has settled in and maybe now that you have cleaned out her apartment, you can get to a more peaceful place with the situation.

marie, how was the cabbage recipe? I never cook with cabbage but I do like it

Shirley, hang in there. I feel like you are very active, just need to be more disciplined with the eating. if it was easy, none of us would be here!

    Barbie, hope you feel better!

    have a good night everyone!

I do feel better knowing the apartment is done, no more cleaning or moving for now. Today was my oldest sisters 63rd birthday, I plan on going there tommorrow, then stopping by the nursing home, if the weather isn't too bad. We're suppose to get 4 inches of rain tommorrow. I have a doctors appointment at 12.45, too. If I dont make it tommorrow, to my sisters, then I will after I go to my grandsons grandparent lunch at school. It seems theres alot going on this week and I feel so tired. Today I stayed home and made a roast with carrots, green beans and mashed potatoes. I had to go to Krogers and get dog food and some other things.I got over 3 miles today and that challenge is almost over, I have 93.88 miles so far for the 100 mile challenge this month. I am not doing it again next month... I have challenged myself enough for now. Janice

Good morning, misfit losers! Happy Tuesday!

Steph..good to see you here and owning it! Stress is a killer and we tend to self-medicate with food. I'm just cutting back on carbs..nothing really new.

Janice..I may not do the challenge next month either. I did not get to 100 because of knee issues. You have done an awesome job! I will be as old as your oldest sister next month. It's a blessing because my only sister sibling did not make it to 63; she passed away at 62.

Nancy..gonna stay between 30-50 grams of carb for now.

Shirley..doesn't seem like it's been 7 months since his birth!

On my way to the doc and then will run errands.
    Make it a great day!

Connie-Sorry to hear that about your sister, my other sister will be 62 on new years eve. I hope your knee issues heal up soon. I completed the challenge last month, and I will this month, but our weather is turning and the days wont be as nice to walk, plus I'm just ready to take a break with it. I am not a big exerciser normally. I lost most of my weight, without it. I just stayed really busy before and on my feet working all day, that was my exercise, when I was working.

I cancelled my doctors visit today, it was just a check up, no problems going on. I never cancel my doctors appointments, but I still have 3 months refills on the medicine I get from them. Also, I am not going to my sisters since I'm not getting out, she's fine with that, so thats good. Now I just plan on staying home. Have a good day everyone. Janice
