I'm glad your test were normal and I hope the nonsense never repeats itself.1

I'll second that!1

Wednesday...the day started off great, then around 9:45am I had a fainting episode and I pretty much just felt like crap until around 2:30pm...lightheaded off and on and just icky...kind of like having a hangover without any of the fun of drinking...I did stay on top of my Propel and water, so that was good...not much appetite, and at this point eating big meals like I normally do makes me feel terrible, so calories were way under...I didn't have any beef either, so I took an iron pill before bed and slept off the resulting nausea...my mother is a naturopath and did a session on me last night, I have magnets on my arms, and some kind of flower essence to put under my tongue and also some essential oil to smell if I feel bad...not sure if that will help, but I'm totally certain that it can't hurt.0
-
Thursday - a whole day with no fainting!!! Still some lightheaded off and on, still no driving or working out other than walking (I did manage almost 12k steps) and still drinking the Propel (ick)...plus, I felt better and had a huge appetite so I ate all my food for the day plus about half of what I missed on Wednesday.1

Hey I hope you're feeling better and your weekend was faint-free!0
-
Friday was bad - 2 fainting episodes and just feeling like total crud all day...how can I feel like I have a hangover when I've had nothing to drink????
Saturday was better - no fainting, but still cruddy feeling in the morning, but better feeling in the afternoon/evening
Sunday was amazing in comparison...no fainting and no cruddy feeling, but tired and easily fatigued. Did yard work all day, no heavy lifting, but lots of just walking and tossing sticks and bamboo into the dumpster...also managed 9K steps without even counting the yard work and other than super tired, I felt pretty darned good...went out to dinner instead of cooking because I didn't feel like cooking, and it was delicious and worth every penny.
Monday was a mostly inactive day, though I did walk in the evening while the girl was in ballet...still have hubby doing all the driving so I just relaxed in the car on the way home, and up to ballet, and went to bed at a decent time...just still super tired even when I get plenty of rest...this is more like how I usually feel after blood donation, so maybe I'm past the worst of it...I'll stay on the iron pills a few more weeks just to aid recovery.1 -
So glad you've started to get back to your usual self! Keep having the hubs do all the driving, you get to feel like a queen for a while0
-
I definitely hope you're past the worst of it and that you start feeling completely like your normal self soon!0
-
Tuesday was terrible...ended up only walking about 15 min...then feeling faint mid-morning to lunch time...then went home early and took a nap...I don't think I ate enough, but I haven't keyed in my food either...so I'll have to get on that.0
-
Keyed in my food, it wasn't too bad...around a deficit day, not a maintenance day, but given my reduced level of activity, that's pretty on target for real maintenance probably, or close anyway...I wish I could get back to working out, I totally miss how great it made me feel, and walking is good, but some days even that is pushing it.
I'm not good at helpless and pathetic...or being patient with recovery...deep breath, everything will be OK.0 -
Wednesday was better, but way under on calories, so I really need to focus on getting more calorie dense foods...going to try chicken for potassium instead of oranges...and my iron pills are making my stomach so not happy with me, but that's preferable to the fainting spells that never end.0
-
Thursday...super tired...slept most of the day...but I did eat frequently and get in a decent amount of protein, and I feel pretty good right now...so in looking over my diary my protein has been lower than goal most of the days since I donated...so that's my new goal...get all the protein, every day, not just rarely!0
-
I totally missed my updates again...oh, and shockingly, didn't track food...this is exactly how things get off target.
First things first, let me go try to recreate my food as best I can.0 -
Friday - looks like Friday I did key my food, yay me...carbs were a little high, protein could have been better, but was decent, and calories were decent, very close to maintenance, but still a twinge under.0
-
Saturday - protein a bit low, carbs a bit high, but calories were pretty close to maintenance, so that's good...and more importantly, I felt good all day...had my son drive me and my daughter to her dance class...walked while she was in class...then went home and cleaned my car, which Norwex makes so freaking easy...then my girlfriend came over and drove me and my daughter to the beach!!! YAY beach time!!! Plus, my daughter left her retainer so a week without it was bad enough, didn't really want to make it worse. Got to the beach house just in time for an amazing dinner at Ray's Shanty, which just opened for the season, and it was SO YUM...fried oysters and a salad, so delish...then we stayed up way late playing FLUX (Firefly) and that was fun too!0
-
Sunday was just about perfect in food - protein met, carbs a bit over, calories all eaten...all in all spot freaking on.
I actually drove around the island, my friend was with me in case I felt faint, but since my last fainting episode was last Tuesday it seemed like it was time to try driving again. Plus, the island is 25 mph, and there's always a place to pull over, or I could just stop in the road if we had a sudden need to switch drivers. It was a bit stressful, just general anxiety, being behind the wheel again after fainting the last couple times. But nothing beyond that, no fainting, just a bit of stress and anxiety from driving again.
It went so well that I decided to drive home the route 13 side of the trip. The speed is 55 and under, up and down as you go through small towns. Plus, there's a decent shoulder, and lots of homes and shops and farms, so I felt like if I started feeling sketchy it would be easy to get off the road. And it went great! No problems.
I still had my friend drive the interstate portion of the drive and the bridge/tunnels, it just seemed like not pushing my luck was probably the safer plan.
I did manage to leave my vitamins at the beach house, so we stopped at a grocery on the way home so I could replace my iron pills...I already had duplicates of C and MSM, so the iron was the only really critical one. I think I'll say on those through the end of the month just to be safe, and then I'll drop those.
Oh, and I started lucifer's waterfall on Saturday, so ICK!!! But I was worried it would bring the fainting back, and it didn't, so yay me!!!0 -
Yay for feeling better! I'm so happy to read that! (well minus lucifer's visit.)1

Monday...ate all the food, ate all the protein, ate all the carbs...totally on target...did one round of my chest/back, the first round, the mostly 30 reps round...I was tired after, but maybe I could have done more...maybe not...I wasn't sure, but figured that safe was better than sorry so I just stuck to the one round. Also did walking today at lunch and on breaks, 8.5K steps, yay me.
I drove myself to work and back today. Still stressful, the whole driving thing, especially alone, but 6 whole days no fainting and I'm just hoping to keep counting up!1 -

Tuesday - ate all the food again...did BBL high & tight, kept to the slow tempo instead of following along with the fast tempo stuff, but it's a band workout, so still plenty of time under tension for those muscles and they were definitely working hard...yikes...day 7 no fainting, yay me!1
-
Woohoo one whole week without passing out! I'm so glad to hear that. Crossing my fingers that you're in the clear.0
-
I'm feeling more relaxed when driving, so that's helping too!0
-
Wednesday...food was a little on the carby side, but I had a craving for sweets so I had half a stuffed waffle after my chicken dinner...also did lots of walking, 15K steps, so that's cool...I'm supposed to do abs, but currently feeling kind of tired...maybe I'll just do some ball crunches instead of the full routine.0
-
Thursday...ugh...didn't get enough protein, didn't get enough calories, but I also didn't lift the weights, so I'm probably good for today. I did walk, and I did do the ab routine from yesterday, but I just wasn't feeling the weights...probably the 2 hour trip home in the rain didn't help my motivation, to be fair.0
-
And in the most epic moment of the day...
...they put the Last Unicorn in Orville!!!!!
...for those who didn't recognize it, the song the chick sings in the bar is the song where "Lady Amalthea" and Prince Lear fall in love...booyah!!!1 -
I look amazing this morning.
Some of it I think it just getting back to keto levels of carbs and getting back to exercise and all the normal loss of water and loss of belly bloat that just comes with less carbs and more movement.
Some of it is definitely that my fluffy belly is less fluffy and more firm.
Also, I had 3 lbs that just dropped off this week - likely due to the lack of eating for the weeks I was not feeling well...all that time I was fainting and not eating much, my weight was stable...but all of a sudden, boom, 3 lbs gone and it has stayed gone since Wed, so it seems to be legit gone.
I was going to splurge and have beer tonight before the movie, but with all this positive progress, I think I'll stick to whiskey and keep it keto.
I'm definitely skipping IHOP after the movie, I'm going to go home and rest instead, maybe actually workout Saturday morning. I haven't done a morning workout since the fainting started, so I'm kind of excited to get back into the grove, even if it's only like 10 min to start the day a bit more badass.
So, my hair is psycho and uncooperative today, but my belly is looking nice!!!0 -
Friday - great day...got my walking done...planned for 2 possible options for dinner then didn't eat either of those but did still stay on target...got a bit of extra walking playing pokemon, but the weather was off and on HAIL and tons of wind, so not too much walking...then saw Captain Marvel which was very awesome...no snacks or drinks at the theater, so that helped me stay on goal, even for a low calorie day.
Saturday - didn't track food and didn't exercise due to other time commitments, however, probably not too crazy since I had a wrap for lunch and then did some snacking, and had no dinner because I just had no appetite.
Sunday - very active...decided to take this as a high calorie day...got up and had coffee...then did shoulders/legs that were scheduled for Saturday but not done due to scheduling...then cooked a big brunch for everyone and cleaned up the whole kitchen afterward...then spent a couple hours raking leaves in SHORTS and a TANK TOP because it was so warm and sunny...then cleaned up and went to book club, which was awesome and a great discussion...I left early so I would have some time to walk and pokemon, but then hit traffic and was a few minutes late even going straight there...oh, and I had 2 beers and a seafood mac & cheese, so carbs were a bit over and calories were a bit over, but not the end of the world given how active the day was and how little I ate on Saturday.
All in all it was a great weekend!0 -
Monday started amazing, but somewhere between transitioning back to keto or not getting enough sleep, it went wonky...I did my walking, but then had a hypoglycemic episode on the way home, fortunately I had fireballs in my car (as always) and a McDonalds was only a few miles down the interstate.
They took 13 min to get my my food - slowest McD ever! But, by then I had some sweet tea and was feeling fine anyway. Ate my sandwich. Went home and was so tired I totally skipped working out and opted to nap instead, 90 min later, feeling a bit better but still icky tummywise...then had some gatorade and felt better...ate some dinner...still no working out but not sure if maybe a bit dehydrated (I drank plenty of water and had salt, but no electrolytes)
so...no drinking for me still, for sure, and also no more super high carb meals, and I will keep the carbs to the high end of the keto levels and not have any super super low meals without snacks planned...<sigh>...one of these days my body will get back to 100%0 -
Tuesday...still kind of a tired day...tired is way better than fainting, but it's still kind of a drag, like I'm just never going to be 100% again...I don't know how people with chronic issues deal with the constant never getting better, it's an emotional black hole...in any case, did not workout in the morning since we had dentist appointments and I opted to sleep late instead...I did walk...I went to happy hour after work and I did have a beer, but I made sure to have a couple of the light gatorades afterward so I would be plenty hydrated...but I was still tired, so I didn't work out in the evening either...<sigh>...I even got home kind of early and had time, just didn't have the energy and I am trying to listen to my body...so, just had a snack and went to bed early...again...0
-
Wednesday...still a tired day...did short combat in the morning, then walking at lunch, ate a second lunch because I was super hungry, and did some weights but not a full routine in the evening...ate all the food, and then ate more, so I did track, but I didn't limit my eating, and I even treated myself to dessert for a change. Also went to bed and got lots and lots of rest because I forgot to set the alarm and ended up oversleeping.
So, my high/low days are all wonky because I've just been kind of winging it with the exercise and adjusting my food to my appetite, but I would actually like to get that back into some form of structure.0
