I will not be lifting weights this week, my carpal tunnel is very unhappy with me...I do think I will be able to do the elliptical and some bodyweight lower body stuff, and maybe some abs/core stuff if I do things on the elbows but not the hands...no pushups/pullups however, I want my wrists to get a chance to heal before July.

July plan has changed a bit...I'm going to do some super intense weightlifting when I'm home and have access to my weights...which is only going to amount to 5 times over the course of the month but hopefully that will be enough to keep away muscle loss...and I'm going to stick with the darebee workouts while I'm on vacation since those are bodyweight and don't require transporting any equipment...for the week I'm on the island I also have plenty of yard work and gardening to occupy any free time I have, so that will be a vacation with a decent amount of activity thrown in...the week in nags head, I'm not sure there will be much in the way of activity, but maybe I can talk my husband into morning walks on the beach at the very least.

Did my full 5K walk at lunch, came home and did some gardening, then a full hour on the elliptical and some foam rolling...heavenly...food was good and plentiful today!!!

Yay for a good day! How's the wrist?

Three days of moving in one week, my carpal tunnel is so not happy with me...but today they don't hurt, just some residual soreness...I'm trying to remember to take feverfew twice a day to minimize swelling and speed recovery...same normal routine when I have overdone it with the wrists. Vacation is coming soon, and escaping the keyboard for a few weeks will definitely set them right!

Today's motivation, even though I'm going to pass on lifting and stick to the elliptical again:

I redid my food for July...I just set every day to maintenance...I would like to trim up a bit, so I will aim to eat under that goal, and then I can just track my deficit for the month based on how much I have left. 3,500 = 1 lb...so I'll probably aim for a 500/day deficit...but if I don't make my deficit every single day, then I won't fret.

Thursday was sooo off kilter...got the estimate for the car repairs where my sister hit me...also, I'm pretty sure she knocked my alignment out because I noticed steel showing on the edges of my 6 week old tires...so I immediately took it to the tire place and they were able to fit me in for new tires and an alignment...only, her insurance doesn't want to pay for that and I can't really prove it was the collision so I might be screwed on the tires.

In any case, all that was 9am - 10:45...so I had to make up an hour since my "lunch" was long, plus I didn't really get any breaks in the middle of the day...so it was just weird and stressful...I didn't eat until like 4pm, which was fine, but working until 5pm put me in massive traffic so I didn't actually get home until 7:05.

Fortunately, my darling husband had the chicken in the oven already, so then I did the side dishes and had a drink, and then another with dinner and a couple move after dinner...it was delicious...no workouts other than walking but I did manage my 10K steps.

    July Schedule:

Food (when tracked) is set to maintenance, but I will aim for a 500 cal/day deficit. Getting my protein in should be easy since I love love love seafood and most of the month will be at the beach!!!

Friday was a mess...lunch at Waffle House with a friend, some walking, came home and did Mercy Abs plus an hour on the elliptical...then had eggs for dinner - breakfast twice in one day, it was magical, I love breakfast foods...then was supposed to go to a party but couldn't find the place, so we went to Sonic for milkshakes instead...too many carbs, and I really could have gone lower on the calories, but good enough for one day.

Oh, and Lucifer's Waterfall showed up, so no wonder I've been so crazy hungry all week.

Saturday was great - tested out the new weight routine...holy moly, it's 3+ hours which is too much...I'll be dividing it into 2 separate days and alternating...food was ok, maintenance, which is fine with me, and some wine.

Sunday was good - no workouts but very busy and active just getting things done...food at maintenance...finished off the wine.

Wed I leave for the beach, so it should be a bunch of fun!!!

I got calipers this weekend, so not only can I use those online calculators to get a backup estimate of body fat to compare with my bioelectrical impedance scale...but I can actually measure my problem areas and track them individually!!!

    So Excited!!!

The calipers would be more helpful if my husband would follow directions for using them...<sigh>...my body fat calculation came in about 4% higher than my scale, but I kept having to redirect him to measure properly for the measurements I could see, so I suspect he didn't measure properly at all for the ones I couldn't see...maybe I'll switch to a calculator without any back measurements so I can just do them all myself.

On the super plus side, I created my own little chart and measured all my problem areas so, now I can track those going forward. I really do want to keep shedding fluff over vacation.

Food was good, moderate deficit. Didn't workout, didn't get enough sleep and was crazy tired, so took a rest day from everything but walking 10K steps. Woke up a couple times during the night with the whole restless leg thing, ugh, need to get back on my magnesium and salts for that!

I tweaked the goals today...I had set it to maintenance, but then it occurred to me that I allow +/- 200 each day, so I went ahead and dropped the extra 200 off my goal number - that way even if I use all of my extra 200, I won't really be over maintenance.

I also switched my macros to more standard low carb goals...I am nearly 2 years with keto, so I would like to try low carb and see if that will still control migraines...here's crossing my fingers for permanence!!!

Did my walking 10K+...did half my weights because I ran out of time and it was the youngest boy's birthday so the evening entailed picking up steak and sushi for the special dinner...plus desserts...all in all it was a great evening, oh, and like a 400 calorie deficit, so I'm doing really well today!!!

Wed was good walking plus yoga after traveling. Calorie deficit free.

Thursday also some walking and about 4 hours beach time mostly in the water. The water is perfect now. Cooking dinner now. Food is keyed for a deficit day but we are heading to the carnival to see the fireworks so if I decide to indulge at least I have some wiggle room plus I did my darebee combat workout this morning.

Friday was good. Slight deficit plus morning ballet workout plus fun day at the beach but only about 6k steps so less walking than usual. But all in all it’s been a good day.

I actually tried to post last night but the app wasn’t letting me into here

    In any case

Slight deficit yesterday despite a fair bit of drinking. I’m finally feeling like the drinking and eating junk food connection is gone. It has always been a struggle to have a drink or two and not descend upon the snacks like a ravenous wolf. Last night was good in that there was no craving for junk despite a ton of it laying around. I love vacation but I would like to lose a few pounds rather than gain them.

Today the scale is up a pound but my love handles and belly feel smaller so I’m going with the theory that it’s just water from the drinking. I really should take two days off the alcohol to get an accurate weight.

I did have a few drinks while watching aquaman but I stayed out of the snacks. Smaller deficit but still a deficit.

Rain day today so not much activity. Did get some laundry done and had a good lunch plus played card games and relaxed. Also was naughty and had some junky snack. But still a deficit day even if a smaller one.

Active day, lots of big waves plus walking. Super hungry day too so ate at maintenance plus fit in a few drinks. One day off the deficit is ok but tomorrow we are eating out so I need to reign in the lunch calories and save extra for dinner.

Oh I didn’t log or post yesterday.

Yesterday was good. Normal eating at the beach plus dinner out plus ice cream. Definitely a maintenance day but I did get extra walking so that’s cool.

Today I keyed and included ice cream since we might be having some. I probably keyed more than I will actually eat for dinner but that’s cool. Today can be maintenance too.

Oh up another 2 lbs on the scale so 165 now. But my fluffy bits of my belly feel smaller but I’m definitely bloated through the midsection. Probably the dairy. I don’t have milk much and it doesn’t agree with me either.

In any case. Tomorrow is the last beach day since I’m planning yard work Saturday and Sunday before traveling.

I think the app quit working because I got bumped to super slow-mo data speed for the remainder of the month...I can't get Pokemon to work either...so, where were we...

    Last post was Thursday...

Friday I was back down to 161, gotta love the overnight weight bounces...Friday was the last beach day, and I did a bit more walking but nowhere near my normal amount plus, I did more swimming and wave jumping and the currents were quite strong...so, that was cool...also tracked food and maintained a small deficit.

Saturday I did not track...I did eat a lot, and I also did 4 hours of intense gardening...it was super hot out, so I would only be out for an hour at a time, and then I would need to go in and hydrate and snack...it was a physically exhausting day.

Sunday was an hour of gardening but not as intense, just laying down weed fabric and mulch, so not as exhausting...and then driving home...again, didn't track, but didn't go crazy with the eating either...pizza for lunch, double cheeseburger for dinner...some Aleve to help with the inflammation.

Which brings me to how much I totally despise poison sumac...you are the blight of my beach yard...so my arms are all red and puffy and monsterish looking...the itching isn't too bad but the scale was back up to 165 today and I'm sure a lot of that is water.

    <sigh>

Monday - the goal for this week was to get in 3 solid lifting sessions before the next vacation...I'm not sure that's going to happen...yesterday I dropped my car off and then it wasn't ready when I tried to pick it up so I ended up getting a rental...and by the time I got home and cooked dinner it was already 9pm...tonight and tomorrow I'm on ballet duty and won't get home until about 8:30pm...Thursday I can actually lift something...and I totally plan to list ALL THE WEIGHTS!

On the plus side, I should be able to get in some extra walking tues/wed, so that's something at least and I should be able to keep my food on target...yesterday was a very small deficit, but I'm planing for bigger deficits since I won't be lifting.

Tuesday...food was good, solid deficit, ok-ish protein, could have been higher...walked about 15K steps, but no lifting...still, a solid day...more of these = progress!
