Had a wonderful day at work yesterday. Out of the blue I was given a couple really nice side chairs from our showroom and I've been looking for chairs for my living room, my boss said she was going to take it to our COO that I should work from home some (I drive 65 miles each way) and then she offered me timeshare points for a week long paid for vacation!!!

I think she knows I haven't been as happy for the last year (we relocated our corporate office and the new commute, while only 10 miles further is up to 45 minutes longer each way) and even though I've been with her for 15 years I have considered leaving.

That's an awesome win, @Cadori, if you get to work from home. I love it. I can do what needs to be done at home and I still get through a very productive work day...all in my jammies! The worst part is my kitchen is so close and if I have a slower work day I get bored and get up and go to the kitchen. I'm working myself OUT of that bad habit though. Everything else about working from home is a win (well, except when I'm on a call and the dogs start barking...that bites)

I'm in the same area as @BaconSan2 so I am getting the storm warnings too. I woke up and it was raining really hard but it seems to have stopped now.

The rain doesn't bother me so much...unlike the wind. I keep getting blown around and it's not fun trying to walk down the street when the wind is hitting you so hard. It's quite strong!

Candles are ready...should stock up on some food but so many of my LCHF foods are in the fridge. I hope the power doesn't go out...

If it does, I guess I'm going to have to consume cans of broth to stay alive lol

Thinking of you too, @samanthaluangphixay. Stay safe!! I wish I was light enough to get blown around by wind

Stay safe in the storm ladies! I am going back to the doctor about my foot tomorrow. I hurt it running almost 2 months ago. A week after I had it x-rayed and they said it showed an old healed fracture which I had no clue I had but nothing acute. Well here we are and it still hurts. I have laid off exercise and gave it tons of rest. Now every time I add activity back it flares up. It's ruining my fitness goals! I've waited months for fall running weather and it if doesn't feel better soon there will be snow falling! lol

@RowdysLady - Thanks for thinking of me :)

@anglyn1 - Good luck with the doctor's visit. Hope you get good news. It sucks when it derails your fitness goals!

Frightful Fridays start my busiest times these days - High school football game tonight then marching band comp tomorrow. LONG day tomorrow. And my youngest is grounded until she's 40 for getting mouthy yet again with me - after I had done some very nice things for her. So she won't be joining us for the game or competition. Which means I have to worry about what she's up to at home alone. *Thinking I need to move the TV to a locked closet and put all the junk food with it* Upside, we live so far out she can't do something like walk into town.

My ECG came back normal today, so yay to that, and my blood work. Didn't get to see the doctor afters so threw a temper tantrum and walked into another surgery to register myself. I was left with unanswered questions. On the plus side my SO totally agreed with me.

Had a haircut, so feeling fab, bit shorter than I wanted but I love my new look. Also bought new tights after today's wardrobe malfunction lol

Hope you all will be safe and sound during the storm

Recently I've been travelling back and forth between strict keto and LCHF in order to stablize an insane binging pattern.
I'm happy to report that for me, being able to up my carbs within a LC range has helped with managing my cravings enough to avoid big time binges.
I may have sacrificed keto benefits temporarily, but to be able to reverse a truly baffling and ferocious sugar eating pattern with this compromise eating pattern is absolutely priceless.
I feel my dignity returning day by day as I restablize, and feel encouraged that I can turn it around and hopefully get back to where I want to be...instead of continuing to lose all my gained ground.
As a life long yo-yo dieter, this mid-pattern recovery means the world to me and hopefully once I get back to my final goal weight, this is a skill that I may be able to modify for long term stability.
its like a breath of fresh air!!!

I also upped my carb count temporarily to fight some cravings. It really worked!! Now I am back to getting them at the 20ish level. Slowly, I'll reach it again. Hope you experience the same reduction in carbs. :)

I successfully sustained myself on bulletproof coffee until 2pm. This is going to be my routine now for breakfast, unless I feel like throwing a fast in there. I have been enjoying tea in the evening.

I was talking to a friend at work about what I might do with my diet when (if) I get pregnant. I don't want to add a single carb to breakfast because I am most sensitive in the morning, so I'll add two eggs. I would probably add some kind of yogurt with berries at some point in the day.

    Beware! It's the weekend!!

Yesterday was a very strange day for me! Full of insights though.

HWC- it is a must in my life! Seriously!
The night previous I had my staff meeting which meant I had to rush straight home for the young one. Well in my rush I forgot that I was out of my cream. Ff to the morning I figured that half and half would be okay. Within ten minutes of that cup I noticed I was hungry! I'm never hungry in the morning. Hunger got worse, tried ignoring it. By about 40 minutes after waking up I was hit with a sudden nausea. Not good.
The hunger that was triggered by that morning coffee turned into me wanting 'all the food'. Thankfully I managed to prevent that with lots of salted celery.

Almonds/my trail mix- they have got to go. I opted for that last night as a treat. Delicious yes! Bad for my sugars? Apparently yes! My fasting glucose was way up! 118! Compared to my 92 average? Not good!

Protein!- gotta make the goal! (After I readjust my macros)
So I think I may have noticed that I tend to have my wooshes happen after I've met that goal for a few days in a row. If it's not met, I stay level.
I also just listened to a few podcasts on the subject. It seems to be the great debate in the LC world! From the facts given and understood I need to get my range set the lowest as my goal. I also have to keep in mind my higher number as a cap! It's needed and I've been slacking!!

Lazy Keto- I've heard that term used before never fully understood what it was/meant! Now I know! It's a perfect description of me! PSA: Lazy Keto is following the Ketogenic lifestyle but not bothering to measure, weight, log accurately. This is fine to do, however, you will experience more stalls, more yoyo weight due to inflammation and water retention. Well holy kittens Batman! No wonder! That's me!

Needless to say I bought myself a digital scale and going to do my best to teach myself the proper use of it! And accurately log my foods.

Yesterday I had quite a scare. While playing tennis I got heat exhaustion. I finished the match, probably pretty stupid of me, and by the time I got home, I was very weak and pretty out of it. My husband almost called 911. He iced me down and gave me V-8 to drink and I took magnesium. I just laid on the bed and cramped and cramped. Finally my body temp came down, I drank some salt water, and the cramping stopped. My doctor had switched my diabetes meds the day before, and he put me on Invokana, which works to eliminate blood sugars through the kidneys. Well, apparently I got extremely dehydrated while playing tennis (it was in the high 80s) and now I'm anxious about playing. I guess I need to be super vigilant about getting enough salt, especially before doing something that causes sweating. Lesson learned!!

We are having some sort of monsoon here on the west coast it seems like. I got up at 4:30 am this morning to do washing & get a few things done before the power goes out. We have a generator that we can use if the power does go but no for things like clothes. Did a cross border shop yesterday. Storm stockpiling.
Rowdys Lady: I am exhausted just by hearing all the things you did. Hope you get to put your feet up.
Pregnant question: I had a lady once ask me if I was pregnant (decades ago) when I said "No, just fat." She gave me a dirty look. Then every time she saw me after that SHE looked annoyed. I almost felt I should get pregnant just so she could let it go.

Good Luck doll!! You were smart about getting up early knowing the power might go out! Make sure you have batteries and candles...charge the phones.

Power has been on and off - thing I am most concerned about it I might not be able to check into MFP & I will miss all you beautiful ppl & won't be able to see what you all are up to - another thing I am playing an online game & I am on a team (& we are in the top 3) & might not be able to do my share if I lose the internet. I know - all first world problems.

I really struggle too @sherryrichie when the heat and humidity catch me off guard and I sweat more than expected. I've become very ill from dehydration and heat stroke a couple times this year after long hikes, it's not fun. I really need to try and find some sodium tabs online so I can replenish my electrolytes while I'm still out. I tried finding them at brick & mortar shops and have had some really funny looks. I've gotten better about checking the weather before I leave now and I drink some broth if it looks hot... not that it's really an issue for me now... Winter is coming.

@PaleoInScotland, I just ordered some sodium tablets from Amazon.com. I believe they were called Rehydr8. The reviews about them looked pretty promising. Maybe they could help you, as well.

NSV is always a nice reward. Keep on keeping on the muffin top will disappear. This is a way of eating, not just a temporary diet. You are doing a great job.

@ProCoffeenator I'm very much back to feeling normal. Just finished a 10 mile bike ride. I hope your symptoms get better soon. It's amazing how the weather affects us in so many ways!

It's funny how 3 days of generally adhering to LCHF has resulted in me finally busting through a month long 'plateau'.

I generally use my lowest weight of the weekend as my weigh in for another challenge I belong to. Will be good to actually move in the right direction again even if only 0.6 lbs. Might have been more but I had wings for supper and I'll take a hit from the sodium.

I have started supplementing B12 and a B100 complex. This may be TMI, but I find the fluorescent yellow side effects rather disconcerting.

    Morning everyone!
The weekend is over. Back to work for us work week folks. I'm definitely glad it's here. I've gotten to the point where I don't want to be at my "house" anymore. My family is totally screwing with my head and I just feel totally fed up. They want us to stay then they push so hard to make you feel like they are constantly dropping hints for you to get out.
Now my other sister who's not living here is getting involved because I'm cooking my own food!! That's right. My dinner last night which I shared on FB turned into a finger pointing rude mess!
My mother cooks meals for my father and the rest of the household. Me and my kids generally don't eat her meals because my kids are picky eaters and I follow my diet! But I'm wrong because in her eyes I don't share with them...

Sorry. I have nowhere else to rant. Obviously my FB page is being combed over for evidence to fuel the fire in a case against me.

I just keep saying I've just got to get shot straight before schools out and more likely than not I'm getting the hell out of here.

Oh, that sounds like a tough situation. Maybe your fat bombs last night looked so good that everyone just wanted to try them. I know they looked fantastic to me!! BTW, were they delicious? Sorry things are not going smoothly - hope things get better soon for you.

You know you can setup special permissions for posts on Facebook? I have in some cases setup groups to exclude certain people I don't want to see certain posts. In 1 case, I have an entire album of photos restricted to only 3 other people... in order to protect the irreplaceable items photographed from those who might damage them.

@ProCoffeenator that does really sound difficult.

Would your mom be willing to try an on plan dinner that everyone might like? That you could make together or something?
