    @pezhed Good luck nailing down O-day! Alas, AF came with a vengeance. I'm on TTC cycle 5 now. I was so sure because of all the lower back pains that this month was gonna be it. But no, it was just the UTI causing all of that. I think it was higher up by the kidneys.

    @SheilAnneSmith :D OMG your cow jokes!

    @Kirstie155 Oh man, that's so annoying with your insurance. And sorry you're feeling so down on this current cycle. Sounds like you have a good chance this month though.

    @gingermary82 That's a lot to have on your plate at once. I'm kinda with @VeryKatie . But one thing you might want to consider is coming off birth control (if you are on it) and tracking/temping a few cycles before going into try mode. I went off the pill in March. It wasn't until June that I had a normal cycle. So if you want to start trying in November, stopping BC in September might be helpful. And you will have a general sense of when you ovulate.

    @Alioth sorry you got your period! Hang in there with TTC. We've got this, right?

    My chart is completely meaningless to me but FF keeps giving me dotted crosshairs. My temp really never rose very much and today it was very low, but even though I'm not trusting my chart I had to google "temp dip at 5dpo" and came up with all these forum posts about implantation dips and whatnot. I have no evidence that it IS a dip since I don't even have tomorrow's temp. I have no evidence that I ever even ovulated except for those damned dotted crosshairs. I also have had no positive, or even darkened, OPKs. No fertile CM. Not having any evidence of anything isn't stopping the crazy. C'mon brain!!

    @Pezhed how frustrating!

    Am I the only one that puts in hypothetical temps a day ahead just to see what FF will do when you're close to getting cross-hairs like a crazy person!?

    I hoped for an obvious temp increase this morning, but not yet. I'm up about 0.3 degrees, but it was a sharper rise last month. Hopefully tomorrow. If I get any sort of rise tomorrow it looks like it wants to set my cross-hairs on Saturday (CD12). I'm sure their algorithm knows best, but I'm not sure if I agree because my temps weren't really obviously up on Sunday or today and my (hypothetical) cover-line seems odd, with about 1/2 of the temps before O being above it slightly. It looks like it'll want to set my cover-line at about 96.9, assuming I'm the same or up in temperature tomorrow morning. Guess tomorrow will tell me more!

    My head seems clearer and I feel less stressed about getting in BD attempts this cycle, which has made it more enjoyable than just being a chore. I think making the decision to focus less on it in the coming months and being OK with it not happening right away has helped me a lot. I hope we're successful this month, but at the same time I'm 100% okay if we aren't. I'm up several pounds and anxious to focus on something else for a little while.

    I'm super busy the next two weekends during the 2WW, so I'm making a promise not to buy more test and just wait it out until AF is due with hopes I'll keep distracted until then.

    Here's a link to my chart, I enter my temp at 4:30am, so anytime after that should tell more of a story tomorrow.

    @SheilAnneSmith it looks like you got your temp rise today, so that's good! Thanks for the idea of inputting hypothetical temps, haha, yesterday I played around with my chart a bit. Glad to hear you've got a cool head about it all.

    My temp was low again today so my dotted crosshairs disappeared. That honestly makes more sense to me since I never got a positive OPK and I've been burning through those things. I feel like I'm going to be peeing in a cup twice a day for the rest of my life.

    @pezhed It did rise a bit, but it's interesting how much lower my temps are this month than last month both before and after ovulation.

    @pezhed Yeesh. That would drive me nuts. Hopefully it will come clearer soon!
    @SheilAnneSmith The crosshairs annoy me on both sites I now use. I wish I could just put my own temp baseline down manually, now that I have a decent idea of where that should be. 97.1 makes more sense to me. I'm a chart noob, but I wonder if your baseline should be 97.1 too? Glad you're feeling less stressed.

    @SheilAnneSmith Lol. Oh well.
    This temping thing is interesting. I did a chart overlay today out of curiosity. There is a clear mirroring going on from month to month. I expected cycle charts to be more random and different month to month. But not so.

    @Alioth it's pretty cool to see patterns, isn't it?!

    I FINALLY got an LH surge on Sunday, which happened to be our 1-year wedding anniversary, so that was a nice treat. I'm hoping to confirm ovulation with temps soon?? But no discernible rise yet. Maybe tomorrow. CD27 here so hoping for some confirmation soon.

    I'm struggling to explain to people why I'm not buying a ski pass this year. I don't want to tell the world we're trying to get pregnant but am not a very creative explainer. I mean I just told my coworker "because of life stuff" and he recommended a bunch of cheaper passes than the full season pass and I just stopped talking, haha.

    @pezhed That's hilarious about the ski pass and your coworker! I ran into a similar situation when my dad (a pastor) asked me on a mission trip to the Philippines in November. I couldn't tell him I was concerned about Zika, radiation, and flu germs while TTC. I had to pretend it was all about the money. (also part of it) But he really really wanted me to go and didn't want to hear it!

    @SheilAnneSmith Oh yeah, CONGRATS!! :sunglasses:

    Ok, just wanted to post a tiny rant. Tested yesterday at 9dpo even though I know better. BFN. Righteously provoked right now because my husband's step brother's girlfriend got preggers. They didn't prepare, just decided they wanted one, and are getting one pretty much instantly, though they don't have a safe place to lay the baby's head when it comes. (They are working on that.) My MIL made sure to rub it in as much as possible about how again it's "Your turn." :rage: I was hoping this would distract her so she would leave me alone, but no.

    I did find out though, that Fain is going to use a midwife, not going to the hospital. I'm glad someone else in the family is going in that direction so that when it's my turn (lol) and I do the same, MIL won't think I'm weird. It's gonna be fun talking to her about baby stuff and buying presents.

    Finished reading the Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant. It's pretty good, if anyone wants to know. Gonna stop whining and get to the gym now.

    @Alioth Sorry about the husband's step-brother's GF's pregnancy. It's hard to see it all go more smoothly for others. That is so rude from your MIL!! Does she know you're trying or no?

    It's interesting to hear about other family members' journeys. I feel like I'm in a race with both of my step-siblings from my mom's side. They've been trying longer than we have, though, so I kinda hope they have success before us or Christmas might be awkward. But at least we'll have something to talk about if we're all still trying then??

    @pezhed Ok, that was my crazy PMS rant last week. Lol. I'm feeling much better now. Nope, TTC is secret from all the RL friends/fam. Just you guys know. ;) Wow. The great sibling race. Well, we'll all get there eventually. :D

    Coming up on FW of cycle 9, and husband is still sore from his car accident last week, and I'm leaving for a business trip in a week. BDing might be tough this round :/ He hasn't gotten his SA done yet-should I be mad about this?-and I'm not temping again this cycle. AF is due the week of thanksgiving, would really like something to be thankful for this year!

    @xLexi625 How does your doc know everything is fine without testing your hormones and thyroid? Just curious.

    @Kirstie155 So sorry about your husband. Hope he feels better soon! FX for your Thanksgiving good news!

    Sooo, my AF is due on election day...which I am working at the polls for. I'm not thrilled because it's a 16 hour day. I had AF last election day too, and got really tired of trotting to the ladies room every hour. No other volunteers did that, so it was really embarrassing. I had to keep making jokes about all the coffee I was drinking. *eyeroll* And lemme tell you, middle school bathrooms are super uncomfortable for adults. Can't lock the door, no mirror, T.P. on a stick that doesn't turn so you have to scrape one scratchy square off at a time, no trashcans in stalls, super low potty, no fans, etc. AAARG!

    I am 5 or 6 DPO and not squirrely enough to test yet. But I'm sure I'll break down on day 9 or 10 even though a positive is highly unlikely. But I'm not feeling sorry for myself this cycle.
    TRIGGER WARNING: PREGNANT LADIES DO NOT READ SPOILER.
    { My husband's step bro's girlfriend Fane miscarried at 13 weeks. The family is sad. Also, my sweet coworker miscarried. She is better now, but last week I covered all her shifts because she felt terrible physically and mentally. I feel bad that I ever was envious of them being pregnant. I know it wasn't my fault though, and probably not theirs either. But that has certainly cured me of feeling sorry for myself. I haven't gone through anything like that. I was down last week just thinking about it. (also from working extra hours). I'm afraid of it happening to me. I don't think it will. But the lurking fear is there. }
    Anyway, I've added CoQ10 to my regimen, and Acidophilus, and hit the Mucinex hard this cycle. That freaked out Fertility Friend because I had EWCM past O as a result. Haha. Still not sure which day was O. Have a funny story about O day BD that I might share when I'm not late for work. Also using OTC progesterone skin cream this entire luteal phase. Although researching led me to believe the type I bought is probably ineffective. Research only shows prescription suppositories and oral pills actually work.

    @Kirstie155 it sounds like it might be tough to get it in this cycle. I hope you can make some attempts despite the soreness/scheduling!
    @Alioth thanks for the reminder about election day! I need to fill out/drop off my ballot today. I think I'm too late to mail it. Sorry you might have AF again while you're working the polls, ugh! What does Acidophilus do?

    I haven't been very good at TTC this cycle. I'm feeling a little hopeless I think. I haven't been taking prenatals or supplements, and my chart is the biggest damn disaster so far because of travel, a stomach bug, and travel again. Our BD has been hit or miss but I can't even guess to our timing if I've already ovulated. The last 2 cycles I've O'ed on CD26 but some of my cycles have been closer to CD16. Currently CD15 I think? Anyway hopefully we'll have a go today. Not much else to do in the rain.

    I ended up missing my first acupuncture appointment last week because of my stomach virus but rescheduled for tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to seeing what that's about. My mom was really encouraging about it, so that made me feel more optimistic. I've mentioned before that my step-brother and his wife, step-sister and her husband, and we are all TTC I think, and my mom told me that my step-sister found out that she has endometriosis, so she's actually infertile until she has surgery, which I think she's going to do this month, but then she should be able to conceive. I'm happy for her that she was able to identify the issue! I think my step-brother's wife will go to a clinic now that my step-sister has (wanted to see if it was worth it I guess).

    We have open enrollment for next year coming up and I'm not sure what to do health plan wise. Right now I have a high deductible plan paired with a health savings account my company contributes 1k/year to. I am thinking that I need to get a better plan like a PPO in case I get pregnant, or worse, can't get pregnant, but I'm not sure. What are you guys doing for your insurance?

    Ugh sorry for the long post yesterday and new post today. I'm feeling duped by this whole acupuncture business. He had me put my hand on an electrodermal cradle and it generated an entire report of all of my organs and levels of this and that. It did say that everything reproduction-related was low/less active than it should be, but now I'm sure he could explain any of that away if my concerns hadn't been fertility-related. I'm googling this device like crazy today and it looks like it literally does nothing other than give the practitioner a baseline for discussion and incentive to buy supplements. I feel like such a sucker. I did order about $40 worth of supplements and I'll try them out of desperation (if google searches don't say they're dangerous), but I'll keep my $55 I was going to spend on the next session. I'm sad and feel helpless. I did like the needling part. It just felt like a really long savasana though. Maybe I should just do yoga.

    @pezhed Dang, girl. I'm sorry youv'e been so sick! The chart is not everything though. It's just a piece of data. I'm glad your family member is getting treatment for endometriosis. I hope everything goes well for her. And, even if you didn't agree with the acupuncturist's interpretation, at least you enjoyed the needling. Maybe the supplements will be helpful?

    Acidophilus is a helpful bacterial culture found in yogurt that can help restore balance in the digestive tract. It really helps with my irritable bowel. But I'm lazy and hate yogurt. I'm trying a pill form to see if it's better, but they say it's useless if it's not a live culture attached to food, so it's probably not gonna help.

    Insurance wise, I switched to a different Anthem keycare plan that includes more coverage, but I'm still confused as to what it covers pregnancy wise and what it doesn't. I think it really depends on what is considered "necessary" and what is considered "optional". And no one will tell me where that line is. I've gotten conflicting information from my agent. Basically, she said a "routine" procedure may be optional and require full payment out of pocket.

    Election day was ok. We were overstaffed with volunteers, so I was pretty bored. I mostly helped people use the scantron ballot box and gave out stickers. My sore throat made it torture to greet all the voters and give instructions all day long. But we met our goal of a 40% turnout, and most people had a good attitude. We had hilarious write-ins for the local election though. #1 write in was "ME." The super villain Zodd received a vote as well as "The Devil Himself." AF has still not come. I think FF got dates wrong, so I did a manual override to fix it. Maybe AF will be tomorrow or Friday. Been cramping 3 days on and off. Grr.

    @Alioth my husband is a biochemist and he's told me before that for a lot of supplements to work you need to take them with fat to replicate having them as part of food. Not sure if that applies to acidophilus but maybe it would be worth looking into. Glad AF didn't show for your poll volunteering. Maybe it won't? Those are some pretty hilarious write-ins! You're in VA, right? Pretty important election there. We only had local issues to vote on. I forgot to mail my ballot and ended up having to go in-person about 10 minutes before polls closed, eek!

    I spoke with my ob/gyn's nurse this morning and she basically said I could come in and talk but they usually recommend people wait until they've been trying for a year. She did say they would want to see my charts when we meet, so I think I'm going to wait until January to call for an appointment. These short LPs are just so frustrating, and I'm not sure there is a way to overcome it. If it's less than 9 days this cycle (IF I can pinpoint O), I may break down and call them anyway, haha. @Alioth how long have your LPs been? i know you mentioned trying to extend them. Maybe progesterone cream is why your AF is later than expected?

    @pezhed I'm sure he's right. I always take it with a full meal to help process them, and hope it's enough to get them to work. I'm dyyyyyyyyyyying on this TWW. If AF doesn't come tomorrow, it could be IT or it could be that the progesterone cream is helping lengthen the luteal phase. Either way, I will be pleased. But the suspense is killing me! My LP is typically 11 days since I started tracking bbt 5 months ago. I had 1 that was 9 days. The last one was 10. If AF holds off tomorrow, it will be my first 12 day LP! I'm also thinking about seeking medical opinions after the New Year if I can't get some progress. Anyway, I've heard obgyn's are not great for fertility testing, as they specialize in getting babies out, not putting babies in. So I'm not sure if I should even bother seeing one, but gonna go straight for a fertility specialist in the big city if I can.

    The Virginia election was full of drama as far as the news and internet goes. But the reality was 'much ado about nothing'. All the favorites won, and the status quo was pretty much preserved in every way. Glad you squeaked into the polls on time! Voting is fun.

    Thanks, @SheilAnneSmith @pezhed ! I'm now somewhere between wonder and blind panic that the house is not ready and I have no savings. I sent a text message to Josh while he was at work. Even though I'd told him earlier I wanted to keep it a secret, he immediately told one of his coworkers. I was really steamed about it. So it wasn't that romantic. Also, now I'm having symptoms. I'm super irritable, achy, crampy, gassy, thirsty, have to pee all the time, etc. Seriously, how can something the size of a sesame seed have this powerful an impact on my body? Lol.

    Anyway, I'm so relieved to switch gears. I feel liberated! I don't have to chart any more. Temp's holding steady at 97.8. I always thought there was something wrong with my temps, because they never got into the 98s that much. But apparently it wasn't important. I can pack all the ttc stuff away, except for the progesterone cream (for now). I'm switching from women's multi back to prenatal vitamin.

    Thanks, guys for all the encouragement you've given me in this group. It really means a lot to me.
