I packed up the greens, cabbage, and candied yams and am getting the soup from the cafeteria at work today. I will be eating my meal between noon and 1:00pm
I am also changing up things to where I drink my wheatgrass juice (8 calories) in the morning before I leave for work. Have my meal between noon and 1:00pm and then drink my chocolate kale shake (155 calories) after I get home from work around 5:00pm. Not adding any additional foods just changing up the times I eat what I currently eat.
The only thing I may add is drinking juice with ACV with my midday meal.
What are your thoughts?
I have become a believer in the power of fasting (since I read Delay Don't Deny, The Obesity Code and Appetite Correction) and I would be concerned about breaking my fast with both those drinks in your fasting window. I do think a lot of the power of omad comes from fasting - at least I think that is what makes it so easy for me. The theory is that, even if you eat carbs in your eating window, you will still go into ketosis (which stops you from being hungry) and be fat adapted (burn fat instead of glycogen) in your fasting window. But if you eat or drink something (even if that something has next to no calories) it will push you out of that state and you will lose the benefits of fasting. Also, the release of insulin from the food or drink is supposed to make one hungry...
Honestly though, I think everybody is different and different things work for different people. I just know I couldn't have that shake at 5pm and not be starving afterwards. The smaller drink in the morning I might be ok with...1 -
I would have all my calories at once because you will be breaking your fast otherwise0
-
I know when I've tried eating early, I'm usually eating for the rest of the day. I need to wait or I will overeat. Not everyone is the same though and it doesn't hurt to try things. See what happens.0

Hmmmm - I think I need to work on being less wordy! You said what I wanted to say in one short sweet sentence....0 -
I had my wheatgrass shake this morning around 7:15 am, I ate my meal at 1:00 pm and had my shake at 5:00 pm. Right now at 7:45 pm I am not hungry and I will be going to bed around 9:30 pm so I think I will be able to make it without eating until bed.
I think I will try this for the rest of the week and see how it goes. My mind has been on maintenance a lot lately and I think I am kind of trying to incorporate some maintenance things into my weight loss now since I am closer to my goal weight to get a feel for how things will be in maintenance. Maybe this is a bit premature and I should just do what I need to do to get to goal so that I can actually be in maintenance.0 -

At least do maintenance. Don't have to re-lose weight!0 -
My goal is to still lose so if I see this is hindering that, I will not continue with it.1

I got the new cut about a month ago.
Oh, you look so nice!0 -
Thank you, Joe!0

The picture above, is the first time in years I have worn a shirt tucked in a skirt or pants. I would usually do everything possible to make sure my bottom was covered, but now I feel comfortable enough to wear a shirt tucked in. Such a good feeling.1

Was down 0.5 pounds this morning. My meal for the day will be cream of potato soup, cheese biscuit, and a large salad along with a fun-size snickers and 8 ozs grapefruit juice with ACV for my beverage which will be consumed at 1:00pm.
I did not have my wheatgrass juice this morning, but I will be having my chocolate kale shake at 5:00pm and that will be it for the day.0 -
Awesome progress, Tracey, and I LOVE your new picture! You look so good!0

Thanks Britt!0

I have decided that I am going to end my weight loss journey on November 9th. On November 10th I will begin maintenance. I have decided that I don't want my weight to be such a major focus in my life. I believe OMAD has given me the tools and the discipline to be able to stay in control of my weight. There are 49 days between now and November 10th and it is my goal to lose all the weight I can within this time period and hopefully reach my 144 pound goal. If I don't reach the 144 pound goal, I plan to begin maintenance at whatever weight I am on November 10th maintaining a 10 pound range around that number. It is then my plan to track my maintenance daily weights for 1 year and then just weigh weekly thereafter.
I am thinking I want to start a trek to maintenance thread to challenge me to lose the most weight I can and/or reach my 144 pound goal by my maintenance start date of November 3.0 -

I think that's a very mature and balanced way to look at things.0 -
Thank you Joe.0

Tracy, I've long followed your progress and silently cheered you on. Best of luck in the remaining 49 days, but whatever the result, whether two pounds or twenty, you've already done an amazing job and should be proud.0

Thank you @Nevadaden. I am very proud of my progress. This is the first time I've lost weight and feel super confident that I will be able to maintain my loss. I know now that the changes have to be lifelong and I am at the point where I just want to live and know that my weight issue has been conquered and I can take what I've learned and know that if I do what I know to do, I will be fine.1

Yes, you've been in control this far so I believe you can experiment and stay on track. I agree with Sarah and Brenda as far as OMAD magic working through the power of fasting, especially in my case. But...no hurt in trying a different way in maintenance as different methods definitely work for different people and unless you try you won't know what can work for you.
Yes, you looked fabulous for your birthday and I enjoyed the before after pictures. Love the new hair too!0 -

Super for you!

You've done great and do have tools to maintain. Many ways to skin a cat. My preferred maintenance method has been a 16:8 with eating a low carb big salad at lunch. I gained if I made the lunch whatever. Others have had success have alternating days of OMAD and feasting. Find what works for you!0

OMAD will definitely be a way of life for me in some way for life. I can not express enough that OMAD works and I am thankful to have found it. My maintenance plan as it stands now will look like this:
My goal is to not have my weight be a major factor in my life and I believe this plan makes it simple. I don't want to have to think about counting calories, carbs, and such so I think this maintenance plan will allow me to just eat. Friday, Saturday, Sunday I eat what I want, monday and thursday, water only, and Tuesday and wednesday One OMAD basics vegetarian meal.0 -

Super proud of you, babe! And I think your plan sounds AMAZING! Your goal weight is right around mine, and you are an inspiration! You look wonderful, and I know your last 49 days will be a joy know that maintenance is not only coming, but also sustainable!0 -
I agree steph, I think that may be why I am so eager to get there knowing I WILL be able to maintain whatever that final weight is and not have to worry about yo-yoing ever again.0
-
Your plan looks so good!
Is there any significance to November 9?0 -
No significance. I wanted to start my maintenance on a Friday and 50 days seemed like a good amount of time for me to lose the 10 pounds to reach my goal.0

Gotcha!0

And if you are still losing while doing this you can take away a water day and add in another OMAD day or have an eat whatever you want day0 -
Yes exactly, I have built-in flexibillity.1
