Wow that's really interesting. I'll bet when you first experienced this you were a bit concerned about the Fri-Mon gain, at least until you found out that it was only a weekly thing and would drop back down during the week.
I have a very similar weekly swing. Like I said on another thread I look at where I was on the same day the prior week to know if I'm dropping or not and by how much.
For example this morning was great because I am three pounds less than last Tuesdays weight.

I also gain about 2-3 lbs on the weekends when I have a splurge saturday and it is usually gone by tues or wed.

Oh Brenda, I would have freaked out big time to see that big a jump from Friday to Monday. I am glad you are sharing this so I will know what to expect when I get to that point. It is good that you don't weigh until after your splurge days are over. By doing it that way you are able to enjoy your splurges and it makes you all the more motivated to keep to your OMAD days.

    We call them scones

Scones!!!?? That ain't no scone, THIS is a scone:

You Americans with your whacky language!! :D

I've only ever heard it called fried dough, I didn't even know what a scone was until you posted a picture. I've heard of scones before though. Lol

You didn't have a "cream tea" when you were in the UK, Sandy? A cream tea always has scones and whipped cream and jam (and tea, obviously...)

    oy1j0sefzuqw.png

I'm going to have to side with Sarah here, a scone to me is a slightly dry flaky breakfast pastry... The as you call it fried dough to me is either called an elephant ear or a funnel cake, definitely agree it must be a regional thing

The gain did freak me out in the beginning but not anymore and I'll probably keep weighing daily for a while just until I'm comfortable enough to do it weekly only :#

So crazy how many different names there are for the same thing - even in the same country!!

I'm going to lunch with my MIL at our favorite Mexican restaurant today so how cool you're eating Mexican as well. I'm not sure what I'm having yet, although I know a margarita is a definite. Lol

I go traditional with mine! Tequila, cointreau/triple sec, sour mix, lime juice, ice and salt! Simple and delish <3

Awesome, Brenda! I meant to tell you thanks for posting your daily fluctuations. Before I started weighing daily, I never knew how much it could fluctuate and how extreme, and boy would it cause a meltdown if I only weighed weekly. lol Now, it's like I know certain foods or how much I eat will affect my daily number. It's why I didn't panic when the scale rose the day after having an excessive amount of margaritas. It can take me 2 days to rid too much salt that causes water retention, or even 5. lol

I wanted to ask you if, now at maintenance, have you seen a difference between how you ate prior to losing weight? Particularly your non OMAD days?

    Thanks Sandy, you're welcome :)

Before I lost weight I would start a diet (Always on a Monday) and then by the middle of the week I would mess up and I would feel so guilty and I would just give up for the rest of the week until the next Monday where it would start all over again :/ But now that I won that battle and I'm having my splurge days, I really enjoy them and don't feel guilty because I know that the weight gain is going to come back off after my OMAD days :)

Thank you, Brenda! You've helped confirm that with this lifestyle, there is a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how many diets we started and failed it. Perhaps because this isn't a diet, right? It's a sustainable way of life. :-)
