^ being the stroke setter must be really nerve-wracking. Like, you don't want to make people go too fast for their ability, but also, wanna win!
today I have:
forgotten my Garmin
woke up thinking it was Wednesday
tweaked my knee during what is technically the first run of my half marathon training
but for the pluses:
forgetting the Garmin meant I got round to downloading mapmyrun and am loving the notifications of each mile
it may not be Weds, but at least it isn't still Monday!
have stretched out properly and taken ibuprofen and have ice pack at work - have really gotten better at looking after myself.0 -

Yeah the pressure will be on when we are actually racing.
I am aching everywhere today, DOMs from Sunday row, plus had my first PT session at home yesterday which was great but I am feeling the squats today, every step walking to the marina and then another row this morning.
I did remember by Garmin today and even remembered to set it away at the start of my row (first time for everything).

^awesome!! I actually miss DOMS a bit every now and then! lol0

Bit bruised atm else I would! haha
(danced to Time Warp at weekend, and fully committed at end and fell over - poorly as it turns out!)0 -

Uh oh. It's quite clear - jump to the left, step to the right - not fall over! Or were you misunderstanding the time slip Sorry for mocking your pain, hope you feel better soon.1 -
nooooooo - at the end of the song they all collapse to the floor. I did that1

How's everyone today? I'm currently trying to get through my work day. We had a lot of people take vacation this week so we are running at half capacity. Hoping to get a good 45 min walk in at lunch.1

Wading through my work day too, I will be glad to get home to a hot bath and a glass of red wine this evening.1 -
Happy hump day folks, definitely think the PT killed me off even with some additional stretching and my hot bath I could barely lift my legs out of bed this morning.1
-
yeah PTs are mean!1
-
Luckily think I might have an extra rest day because A) I don't think I could run today even if I wanted to because that would require me to lift my legs ha and we're on a weather warning (again) and that will probably impact rowing in the morning so I can have a bit of a lie-in too0

hehe - tis nice when life works with you!

I have to do core today. I hate core. Mine is so week that I can only hold core yoga positions for maybe 10 seconds before I have to switch.0

I am the same, I am aiming to try and improve mine because it's a crucial part of my rowing. Once the DOMs wear off I'll be trying to get back to doing a bit of pilates, planking and some other yoga poses to try and strengthen it alongside my weight training.0 -

@tinkerbellang83 lol!!! Yes... I dipped into that thread thinking it'd be a bit of craic but was annoyed with all the drunken Irish generalisations!! Don't get me wrong, I may well have a couple of pints on Saturday while watching the rugby, but I've a busy day on Sunday so won't be getting absolutely p*ssed!! As for the St Patty's day comment, don't get me started!! But roll on the weekend, I LOVE St Patricks Day btw, do you have any idea what this corned beef and cabbage stuff is? Is it like the corned beef we used to get at the deli counter for sambos? If so YUKKKKKK1

No idea, I don't think I've seen anywhere selling corned beef over here outside of the supermarket, nevermind eating it with cabbage, maybe they are doing colcannon all wrong like everything else ?
I'll be having a pint or two during the game but will be heading home after England win
I'm rowing from Cobh to Cork on Sunday morning, which is about 15km, so need to have all my faculties about me! Will be glad to have Monday off work to recover1 -
Happy Friday Eve folks! The weekend is almost here, what are your plans?
We have a long weekend here with Paddy's day falling on a Saturday.0 -
Completely forgot Paddy's day!! woohoo Guinness!
hmm plans were:
Saturday: run, take boots back (heel is coming away and for £90 that is a no no!), play snooker, visit step dad, watch rugby, go home, clean house, watch rocky horror with mate whilst eating homemade burgers and curly fries.
Sunday: long run, Pilates, chill with gf, cook food for week.
Now tis pretty similar, just no running or much exercise cos of knee - bleh. Debating snooker as it is essentially standing for a couple of hours, will see how it goes. And extra Guinness on Saturday obviously!
How bout you?0 -
Friday: Music Bingo after work, maybe a run if my legs are alive by then.
Saturday: Weights/Yoga in the morning then Rugby meetup in the afternoon, maybe a fakeaway and movie Sat night.
Sunday: Rowing then a chilled evening
Monday: Weights/Yoga and maybe a hike if the weather is good before meal prepping for the rest of the week.1 -
Ah guys, ye are wayyyyyy to healthy for me! I'm aiming for a run/walk tomorrow afternoon and then taking my daughter to see Ladybird... Saturday morning will be the big fry up and then take the kids to the parade before the rugby... the rest of the day will be a pub day, rugby followed by kiddies disco, takeaway for dinner! Sunday is my mums birthday so will be travelling and staying in my brothers... might fit a walk in, but lots of food and wine on the cards!! Weigh in next week will probably not be pretty!!1

We have a long weekend here with Paddy's day falling on a Saturday.
I'm going to the gun range on Saturday. I'm also going to be setting up my new tent in my yard to make sure it's ready for a camping trip in a few weeks. I don't feel comfortable enough to have a cheat meal yet so I probably won't have any alcohol for St Patricks day. Bummer1 -

ooh what type of guns?
the day I realised a 10/15 min run or a 30 min walk would burn me enough calories to have a beer was a good day hehe1 -

Rather than considering it a cheat meal, can you not fit it into your normal day?
I need to look at a new smaller tent for camping, I have a massive 5 man tent which is great for normal camping but I need a newer smaller one for festivals/wild camping, as my current one is about 5 years old and is starting to wear a bit.1 -
Woohoo it's finally Friday, and the first of three long weekends/short work weeks!

yeah, no Monday off here! hehe
I have Tues off though (get to go have a tooth out! such fun!)0 -
