People LOVE midliners. I am not a highlighter person. I'm definitely a pen/marker/office supply hoarder though. And I have a slight Erin Condren problem. I have a note on my calendar to order the seasonal surprise box on Monday when I wake up LOL

I find it slightly amusing that we all have pen/marker/office supply hoarding issues.

Let me modify that....not issues, tendencies. I don't see it as a problem.

Oh, yes, I have the pen problem too. I don't care for pencils. Sometimes my laptop bag or purse will get too heavy and I go through and discover tons of pens. For grading I like to use pink or purple and those I like to be Gel pens. So I have a ton of those!

I have running shoe issues as well. Not as bad as @7lenny7 has but still I like to have a rotation of 3 shoes at all times. One just retired and a new one is on the way!

Not making very good choices today and yesterday in the food dept. I seem to be quite hungry and snacking too much! I know I can make healthier choices on snacks. Just got to do it! My weight has been up all week -- usually it goes down during the week. sigh.

I didn't know who/what Erin Condren was so of course I had to look. Probably, really shouldn't have. There is an awesome 18 marker/pen set in colors that I love! I have to keep telling myself 'you don't need that!'

I also keep 3-4 pairs of shoes in rotation plus 2 pairs of trail shoes for agility (a clean pair for class and trials on grass and a 2nd older pair for trials on dirt).

I'm sorry! She has a lot of sales, free gifts with orders and reward program (if you need a referral code let me know LOL). The quality of the products is pretty good. I have the life planner because the paper is nice & I love the vertical layout. A few years back I had a happy planner but hated the disk system so EC is similar but better for me. The only EC thing I haven't liked for quality is the gel pens. The ink doesn't flow well. I don't know if it's the ones I got or all. Other pens from EC have been way better. I can't complain, the pens were free with an order.

I wish I had know about her when I was working, especially when I was teaching. She has so many cute things! Nowadays I have no real need for a planner and do everything on a shared (with dh) calendar on my PC.

I have a google calendar and paper. I use it as a creative outlet. Every Sunday I sit down with my planner, stickers, and markers and make a pretty(ish) weekly spread.

Well all this talk of planning prompted me to update mine form the running list I'd been replying on.

I looked at the Erin ones. I didn't see anything I had to have. It was all too pretty for my taste.

I am thinking about buying the cookbook "Run Fast, Cook Fast, Eat Slow." I like to cook, but really don't know how to cook healthy foods that are good for fueling. I'm mostly a meat and potatoes gal so I know that I am missing out on a lot of nutrients that I need. This one sounds like it might be good. I like the story behind the ladies that wrote it. Have any of you ever heard of it or used any of the recipes?

I have both their books. I've done a couple recipes but it's been a while. A lot of yummy sounding recipes! Amd if I remember it's broken up like breakfast, pre run etc

I couldn't really get a look at the contents on line, but they did have one page that showed what one of them ate for each meal and snacks. So, I think you are probably right about the break down. I thought I'd give it a try. I have soooooo many cookbooks. Another hoarding issue I have??????

@quilteryoyo I like cookbooks too! I started buying regional ones, like Indian, Thai, and got one just for dd, “noodle comfort”. I think we’ve barely used them, i blame it on the lack of availability here. If I want even the simplest meal, I typically have to hunt the ingredients down.

    Food yesterday.
    So lazy. Cheese and crackers,
    Something I can’t remember yet.
Dh made hot dogs for dinner. I ate 2. Headache started last night.

    Today’s plans?
No idea. Coffee x 1682.9 and some Tylenol.

I took some vitamin c gummies yesterday and wonder if it’s headache related. Dh got new ones. The hot dogs shouldn’t give me a headache til 3-5 pm, roughly 20-24 hours later. I might insist we go back or just cut my dose back until I’m sure they are the culprit.

For a class activity we are tracking and planing study time, I have scheduled 10 hours today. What? I’m not feeling it. Maybe the coffe will do magic. I think I also have menopausal pms, may or not be physical follow through. I was pissy yesterday for no reason, woke up singing a new song I like, “g d it, when’s it all gonna end”. Course its hilarious to my crude since of humor. (Pms) Could be the headache reason too. Ok. See you in 10 hours... gd it.

I have SO many cookbooks. Many that were my moms with family loved recipes and many more of my own. I love them all but like all of you I rarely use them unless I am looking for a specific recipe. Otherwise I search the internet until I find something with my ingredients or that sounds good.

I did pretty good yesterday. Even with over 6 hours in the car I was able to get nearly 10k steps in. Eating was ok, I finished off the end of the yogurt and a banana for breakfast. Lunch was Chicken strips from Carl's (not my favorite but dh's choice). He got a 5 pack and I had 1.5 and shared with Hobbes. He also got me onion rings which I love and ate most of but all of it was SO salty. I seem to have gotten so sensitive to salt in foods because I don't typically use so much of it, or eat those kinds of foods.
We took the fixings for a nice dinner in our room and had olives, cheese and crackers first and then salads and homemade spaghetti. I make the sauce with lots of tomatoes and ground turkey. This time I added in some sweet Italian sausage too. The ground turkey from Costco had more in the package than I expected and I had purchased 2 packages of fresh sausages and I cut them all up and put them in. It was very tasty and very meaty. We were talking and enjoying our wine and really weren't too hungry for the spaghetti but we had small servings and there is plenty left for another dinner while we are here. Oh and he had flowers sent to the hotel for me. There are beautiful and I am already trying to figure out how I can transport them home on Monday

I am going to take Hobbes for a short run when it warms up a little (in the high 30's right now) and then we are going to Pinnacles National Park, exploring the Salinas area and maybe wine tasting at some local wineries. Tomorrow is Carmel, visiting a local running store called The Treadmill 😁 and going to the off leash dog beach there!

Both of those cookbooks sound good to me! When we redid our kitchen I got rid of most of the cookbooks except the few that I actually use. The air fryer one sounds good because we've used it only a few times since we got it. The Run Fast Eat Slow looks good - I am wondering how many vegetarian items are in it though. but even if there are just a few, it's worth it. Although the meals are difficult to prep for one of my fav cookbooks is an Indian Instant Pot cookbook. The author wants you to have all these fresh spices and chop them up and what not, but they turn out amazing!

@shanaber - nice picture - looks delicious! What a nice hubby to have the flowers sent in advance!

    @elise4270 - 10 hours!? That's quite a day of studying!

Did 34 mile bike ride today. DH can't ride yet because he got a heart monitor installed in his chest and he has to wait a week more to exercise, so I couldn't ride up to the meeting place (which adds 10 round trip). Tomorrow will probably be lifting, or maybe a run too!

Weight still up... but trying to rationalize that my pants that are my measuring pants still fit.

    Happy weekend!

@ddmom0811 I think there's a few. It's one of those that puts the letters for each recipe. Gf for gluten free, v for vegetarian. If I didn't have a sleeping pitbull in my lap I'd go verify. Lol Myabe later today.

@shanaber Love your flowers. What a sweet DH you have. If you could find a box the vase would fit down in and pour out most of the water, they should get home safely. Maybe the hotel has a box you could use. If the box is too big, pack some clothing around it to hold it steady.

@Elise4270 Good luck with the studying. That's a long time to sit. Hope it was interesting. I hope your headache went away too!

@ddmom0811 Glad you got a bike ride in. I think I must have missed or forgotten what happened to your DH. Hope he's okay.

I weighed today. My trip to FL only put my "official" weight up by one pound. I'm happy with that....lost 4 pounds of water since Tuesday.

My husband made me pancakes on Valentine’s Day! I thought I would never have pancakes again. Okay, they were protein powder pancakes, but they tasted a lot more like pancakes than I expected and they were easy to make. Topped with cranberry / Greek yogurt topping. Total carbs: about 15 g.

He also made me this, because I like birdwatching:

Wow! @rheddmobile nice! I got nothing. “I could take you out to eat”... no thanks, everyone else is out. Maybe that’s why I’m grumpy...

I ate too much today. Dh found blueberry Cheerios and I ate so much.

Last two evenings and now and again I get hot. I just realized tonight that it’s prob hormonal. Or lack of... I might talk to my pcp if I return for the shoulder.

I did not study 10 hours. I did get 8.5. Shocked cuz I played outside with the cats raking leaves for a bit (beary loves the company), and went grocery shopping today. Yes @ddmom0811 it is a lot. But I should have 40 hours a week. So... I’m keeping at it. Grades are good so far compared to the the ones not putting in the time. Tomorrow I hope to get another 8. I have 2 exams next week and Wednesday I go to Dallas. I’m only behind in household chores!

    So tired. Night y’all.

@ddmom0811 - are they still monitoring your dh for AFIB? I thought that was all over with? Maybe the weight gain is increased muscle?
@Elise4270 - hope the studying went well. Can't imagine studying for 10 hours. Guess I used to but I don't think my attention span would last that long anymore!

Had a great day today. Awesome run and so much fun wine tasting and exploring. Went to pinnacles but because it is a national park, dogs can't go out on the trails. Dh stayed with Hobbes at the visitor center and I went up the trail just a bit to really see the formations.

@rheddmobile Love, love, love the Valentine. You're husband is so sweet. I like to bird watch too. I just haven't taken the time to do it much lately and I got rid of my bird feeder once I got a dog. I'm pretty sure Tippy would not leave them alone. Do you participate in the Great American Backyard Bird Count? (I forget where you are from.)

@Elise4270 Glad the studying went well. Eight hours is still a lot of time to study. You rock!

@shanaber That's such a pretty area of our country. Too bad Hobbes wasn't allowed to hike with you.

@shanaber - I guess his new cardiologist thinks he has a chance of it returning and so this monitor will let them know if it happens. I hope it's muscle! Loved your pictures!

I feel a cold coming on. Started yesterday afternoon after I had finished lifting. I am using Cold Eeze and other products hoping I can beat it. I have a long day Wednesday at a local college where my students who wrote the test anxiety system are going to present it at another competition. I can't afford to get sick. I'm missing a lot of days in March for training and then in April for trip to Amsterdam... so I don't want to miss anymore teaching days for being sick!

I think I am getting a cold too or maybe, hopefully just allergies. I haven't been sick in a really long time. I have had a runny nose for over a week now and yesterday had a terrible sinus headache thing going on. We went to Monterey for brunch (delicious) and then drove to Carmel. The [lan was to park and just walk around and explore and then go to the dog beach. It was SO packed with people, just a zoo. All the parking was full and street parking limited. So we just drove around and headed back to the hotel. At that point I wasn't even disappointed. Frank wanted to go out to dinner but I wasn't feeling up to it. We ended up sharing a dinner from a local BBQ place that was amazing! I slept 9 hours last night and feel better this morning but still with the runny nose, ugh. I planned to run this morning before the drive home but figure it is better to let my body rest. We have agility class tonight when we get home.

@ddmom0811 and @shanaber I hope you are both feeling better and don't come down with the crud. I have been using zinc lozenges (Cold Eeze) for the last couple of months, when I start to feel sick, and it seems to help.

NSV: Yesterday, as I was getting ready to go to church and my dress grey pants were about to fall off of my body, I decided to try on my skinny ones - size 8. I figured they would be no where near to fastening yet, as the last time I wore them I was 10 pounds lighter. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to button and zip them. They are just slightly too tight to wear! I'm excited.

I think the Cold Eeze worked! I am okay today. Did my Tuesday tabatas run -- this is 1 mile slow warm up. 1 Tabata on the app I use is 8 sets of 20 seconds FAST, 10 seconds walk. I did 4 of them and I usually run about 1/2 mile in between each of those sets. I didn't quite get in five miles, but close. I also drink EmergenC when I feel a cold coming on. Had that twice yesterday and this morning I decided to throw a packet of it into my morning smoothie. yum!

For breakfast the past few years I've had Fage Greek yogurt (alternate between 0% fat, 2% fat and 5% fat) with .5-1 cup frozen blueberries and a Tablespoon of local honey. The past few weeks I've thrown it into blender along with a frozen banana and 1 cup of no sugar almond milk. It's pretty good. Not too sweet. This way I can drink it as I am getting ready and it cools me down after run. I may start adding the EmergenC once a week or so, or maybe before flying.

@quilteryoyo - great news on the NSV!

I made a delicious IP Mushroom Spinach Risotto. It was more of a side dish with a veggie burger and sweet potato air fryer fries. DH doesn't like mushrooms but even he loved this. I didn't add it as a recipe so not sure how it was on calories/nutrition. It was quite cheesy though (has 1/2 cup parmesan, which I could probably cut down next time).

Went to dentist yesterday to discuss my treatment plan. Invisalign suggested that they space out my front four teeth (I have this weird thing with tiny little teeth next to the big two top front teeth -- called peg tooth apparently). He wanted to meet with an ortho to confirm this was the best route. We had talked about that method or where we leave them. But he showed me if we leave them, my bite will have to be adjusted a lot more. I will get caps/crowns over the two peg teeth when the treatment is done -- which is what I wanted to do anyway. It will take 11 months - although he said that could change. So he ordered the molds! So another 2-3 weeks I will start. I'm excited to get it going!

@ddmom0811 Yeah for the invisaligns! You didn't mention shaving enamel. Are they going to do that? I'm still on the fence. Thinking I may go see the specialist again and ask if they can do it without doing anything to the enamel and see what he says.

I think what I have is allergies. I don't like to take 'stuff' but I did take a Tylenol sinus after my run this morning and it helped and another this afternoon and I honestly feel great. I am also taking the Turkey Tail mushroom supplement again which is for immune health (Hobbes gets it daily for the MC cancer). I also use EmergenC - @ddmom0811 when I was flying so much for work I would start it a couple of days before a trip and take it every day (sometimes 2x) until a day or two after I got home, even if that meant I was just taking it ongoing because of so much travel. I never got sick. It does have quite a bit of sugar in it so just watch out for that. I never thought about putting it in a smoothie but that is a great idea.

I did have some issues today when I ran. A little over half way my chest started feeling like an elephant was sitting on it making it hard to breath. All I could think about was that I didn't want to be getting the coughing crud that is going around! I haven't been coughing or anything so who knows what was going on.
Then looking back at my run, my HR measurement was really crazy too. I have been having a problem with my HRM and changed out the battery so it could be that. Weird! I will see how it goes tomorrow.

@ddmom0811 - what is the Tabata app you use?

@quilteryoyo - is there another dentist you can see for a 2nd opinion?
