I understand what you mean about the feeling of loss and pain. One of my boars (Ptolemy) passed away very tragically in December (as a result of the ill treatment he had received from his former owners, prior to my fostering into adopting him). I still cry about it at least once a week, although I know that I did everything I could to save him and give him a happy life. My poor husband has listened to me wail on and on, haha... but I feel like it's helped me cope a little bit.
YOU ASKED FOR IT! LOL - I wanted pics where you could see her pretty eyes, and also her size because she was TINY....she was very fluffy so she always looks a little bigger than she was, but she was only 7 'wittle pounds. PS - anytime you see a girl it's my sister...she was obsessed w Smidge too (she only lived with Smidge the last 10 months or so).
(She looks dumb in this next one but she was just sleepy LOL)
This one is kinda funny but it's my fave pic and the only way I could get it was screenshot LOL
You can see how tiny she is in this one too That's my SO Cedric (she looks so scared LMAO)

@mistymeadows2005 Oh, my gosh! Smidge was SUCH a beautiful girl... she certainly looks like she was loved abundantly. Also, your SO looks like such a fun-loving guy!
Haha, thank you for sharing you pictures, Steph. I loved it!0 -
LOL TRUTH on both! She was VERY VERY loved...even non-cat people loved her. And he is indeed fun-loving and goofy LOL - he loved her so much. She was only 5 when she passed So young She was taken too early...but now she can watch over me forever and judge everything I do (she had a way of giving me the sideways judgy eye LMAO)1

It's the weekend, friends! *happy dance* I hope everyone enjoyed their Friday nights.
I got home around 7:00 PM, so husband took the reigns on dinner again. He made vegetarian sloppy joes (combining textured vegetable protein and grated carrots), which we ate "open-faced" on Brownberry flax and sesame seed sliced bread. Sides were mashed potatoes, corn, and steamed broccoli. Not pictured, I also ate a 90 cal FiberOne brownie, drank one bottle of Angry Orchard hard cider, and had about a cup of peppermint ice cream for dessert.
Today should be a chill day for me! Typically I use either Saturday or Sunday as my "cheat day", but I haven't decided if I want that to be today or tomorrow yet... I've been up since about 5:30 AM and have just been be-boppin' around. Fed the birbs, fed the piggies, and took care of a wee bit of laundry. Don't have too many plans for the day, outside of swapping out license plates and maybe picking up a few groceries. So, nothing too exciting.
If I opt to have this be a feast day, then I intend to stop eating around 5:00 PM, so that I can get close to a 25 hour fast in for Sunday. Either way, I'll let y'all know how the weekend plays out.
Sending you all big hugs and happy vibes. Also throwing in a picture of one of my boars named Peter. He's a bit of a sassy jerk, but he tolerated cuddles last night since treats were involved.

So sad the weekend is almost over, boo hoo. Well, I'm here to log yesterday and today's nom choices.
Yesterday (Saturday) ended up being my feast day, but I technically didn't eat that much... I probably was calorically lower than my normal OMAD days. I was starting to feel a bit unwell around midday, so I sort of grazed on a crudité platter, had two ciders, two FiberOne bars, and a small bowl (~2 cups) of black bean soup throughout the entire day.
Today (Sunday), I had my OMAD around lunch due to after-church plans with a coworker. I forgot to take a picture, because we were gabbing so much, but I had a mozzarella and spinach panini, a cup of tomato soup, and a glass of wine. I'd say I ate around... 1:00 PM? I was done before 2:00 PM, so tomorrow's OMAD should end up breaking a 28 hour fast.
Here's to a terrific Monday! Hopefully it's quiet...0 -
Hope you're feeling better1

I have loved catching up. The little fur babies pictures Sunny and Steph too adorable!!!! I love fur babies too! We have three cats and two dogs. Happy Monday all.1
-
Still catching up on everyone's threads. I love all of your furbabies! I have a German Shepherd and he is like my furry child. I used to have rats, but they have such a short life span, I couldn't take it any more.
Hope you're feeling better today!1 -
@Brendalea69 @dkayingram @jadeblue14 - Thank you, ladies! I decided to go ahead and stay home from work today, due to a mild fever and discomfort that kept me restless throughout the night. I'm still mildly feverish this morning and have a headache, but I'm sure I'll survive, haha.
I'll hop on here later with food updates once I feel a bit better. I've sort of just been lounging on my sofa under my weighted blanket, chugging herbal tea. I hope this headache goes away.0 -
I'm sending you get better wishes1

Just popping in quickly to say I'm still ill. Ugh. Didn't work yesterday, and I had to leave early today due to a 100.2 fever that I couldn't get down. Ugh. I'll probably stay home tomorrow as well, just to make sure I have time to really fight this. I hate being sick. >_<
In spite of being unwell, I've been sticking with OMAD. No pics of meals, unfortunately, but I'll try to snap a photo tomorrow. I've pretty much been living on soup and bland starches. I had vegetable soup with potatoes yesterday, and today at 2:00 I ate vegetable soup with whole wheat crackers. With both yesterday and today's meal, I ate a FiberOne bar and drank a glass of buttermilk to help my upset stomach.
I'm hoping that my fever is gone by tomorrow. I don't mind the headache, stuffy nose, and cough so much... but the general sense of aching and weakness is truly the pits.0 -

UGH I'm so sorry you don't feel good! First of all, it just plain sucks...but ALSO it's really hard to get on board with paying attention to eating when you don't feel good.
Get better soooooooon!!!1 -
@mistymeadows2005 Thanks so much, girl! I don't normally get sick like this, but I suppose it was only a matter of time. Hopefully I'll be back in tip top shape by the end of the week!0

Oh no. Definitely take care of yourself and rest. Sometimes that's all we can do.1

Thanks, everyone! I really appreciate the well-wishes. I stayed home today, because I still had a lingering 99.4 fever this morning. I know it's for the best that I rest and not spread germs, but I can't help but feel a little stressed about all the work that's going to be waiting for me on Thursday morning.
Haven't had my OMAD meal yet, but it's in the works. I'm planning on breaking my fast around 12:30 with some grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, and maybe a glass of wine. I've got a horrendous headache.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll finally start feeling a bit normal this evening. I'll also try to take a picture of my meal, but with how I'm feeling right now, I'm probably just going to scarf it down and go back to bed.
I hope you all are having a good Wednesday! At least we're on our way to the weekend, right? Tomorrow I have a dinner date with a coworker, so I'll definitely make sure to snap photos of that. We're going to an Italian restaurant, and I'm really looking forward to it! I'm hoping that by eating today from 12:30-2:00ish, by the time I break my fast tomorrow evening (~7:00 PM), I'll be close to 29 hours of fasting. I'm planning on weighing myself on Friday, so let's hope for me to be at least at 124.1 -

Really hope you kick this bug! That's the worst! Grilled cheese sounds so freakin' good right now, and no better classic when you're sick then grilled cheese and tomato soup
Can't wait to see pics from today/tomorrow1 -
Hope that fever goes away, as well as the headache! Get some rest!1
-
Thank you so much, everyone, for all the kind thoughts and well-wishes! It's been a grueling couple of days trying to fight this nasty bug, but I'm finally seeing the light at the end of this fever-ridden tunnel. I still had a mild fever this morning 99.0 before taking some medicine, but I decided to trudge along and come to work. Glad I did, because the stacks were getting high!
As shared yesterday, my OMAD meal ended around 2:00 PM, so I'm aiming for a 29ish hour fast to be broken this evening. My dinner date with a coworker got cancelled, so I'll be cooking instead. Not sure what, but we'll see how I'm feeling by the time I get home. I was originally planning on weighing tomorrow, but I might go ahead and just hop on the scale tonight before breaking my fast... I am honestly feeling a little bit nervous about what it's going to say. I feel like I've been rather strict with my eating, yet that lingering feeling of frustration at the low scale movement last week has still got me on edge. I'd be ecstatic at seeing 124, but it'd be even nicer to see the 123s... fingers crossed for some significant progress!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Thursday! It's so cold today compared to the last two days; I'm really ready for spring.0 -
Glad you're feeling better, even if it's still lingering a bit. I think you have a solid plan for tonight. And good luck with the weigh in! Do you like evening weigh ins? I've always been a first thing in the morning kind of girl.0

I do prefer evening weigh-ins, as I notice that my tummy is a bit inflamed when I initially wake up. I have Crohn's Disease, and water helps a lot with managing my inflammation, so waking up from sleep usually is a bit uncomfortable as I'm met with a lot of intestinal cramping.
Usually by the evening before I break my fast, all I've consumed throughout the day is water (and maybe chewed a stick of gum), so I wouldn't think it'd significantly influence my weight. I might try for a bit doing a morning weigh-in and evening weigh-in just to see if there is much of a difference (all before eating, of course).
Thanks for the kind thoughts, btw. I'm glad I came in to work today, but a part of me is still wishing I was in bed, snuggled up beneath my weighted and heated blankets, haha. This flu is kicking my butt!0 -
I can definitely see evening weigh ins working better for you than. Though you're right. Could be interesting to track the difference. Maybe see if how the WOE and losing weight impacts it in the long run? (I'm super fascinated by how the human body works, feel free to ignore me)
The flu is no joke! Keep taking care of yourself.0 -
Haha, I could never ignore you! I love it when people ask such thought-provoking questions, because it challenges me to try new things or think about old things in a new way!1

It's Friday! Hallelujah!
I opted not to weigh myself last night, because I was so exhausted and sick feeling by the time I got home. My fever went back up to 100.2, so I had a bowl of vege and lentil soup with a small side salad, then I went to bed around 8:00 PM. Thankfully, I am finally fever free, but I feel a lot of pressure on my chest, so I'm thinking of going to the doctor on Monday if this doesn't clear up by the end of the weekend. I hate being sick!
Since I skipped weighing yesterday, I'll be weighing this evening when I get home. I've been having some issues with bowel inflammation (thanks, Crohn's!!!), so I'm worried that I'm retaining some water and will be heavier than I'd like. I'm trying not to worry excessively about what the scale shows tonight, because I know I've been eating well and following OMAD rigorously. I haven't gone outside my 1.5 hour eating window, and my last cheat day on Saturday probably was less calorically than my usual solo meals.
I feel like I'm too early in this process to be feeling so defeated, yet I do feel worried. I'm holding fast to the mentality that my body might just be focusing on repairing itself, and it very well could be that I'm only going to total a 1 pound loss in my first month. sigh
Well, either way, keep your fingers crossed for some positive numbers flashing across that scale this evening! I hope everyone else is having a good start to your Friday. The office is buzzing and I've got a lot of recruiting stuff to do, so I'm hoping it makes the day go by fast!0
