@eyesopennow excited to hear how your yoga unfolds. Sounds like u have done this before.
@cyndiesstuff I’m so excited to see the new you in 2019. It’s a true year full of hope for many of us. Thanks again to u n Pam @sleepymom5 for being extraordinary supportive captains.
@sleepymom5 so sorry your dealing with congestion. Have u tried zinc? I’m a big fan. Lozenges that I use if I’m around sick peeps or feel like I’m vulnerable to sickness. Helps to prevent or at least alleviate duration.
@pacsnc6 patsy so glad you are back with us. Nothing like a fresh start!
@Cafelelia welcome!!! Jump on in. I like to use this group as a way to offer support and to post my personal journey.
@czvanut looking forward to getting to know u better in January and marveling at your weight loss!!!
@ihp2015 congrats on your 70 pound weight loss. That is a great accomplishment. Motivates me to stay the course!
Good luck everyone on a truly successful January. I am spending the day writing my January goals. Will post on the first.1 -

Hi! My name is Shirin and this will be my 5th month on the team. I'm 39, married to a wonderful man, live in Minnesota, and I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 6 and 3 year old. I joined this team after realizing I needed to try something new to lose the weight I had gained from pregnancy (plus some). My starting weight in August 2018 was 192. My current weight is 169 and aiming for a final weight of 130 pounds (I'm 5'3"). This team has helped me to be accountable and I always appreciate the ideas and support from other members!
Reflecting on the past year, I’m really proud of how I’ve changed since committing to getting healthier by joining this team. I love that exercise has just become a normal part of my day and makes me feel better/stronger/more flexible. I feel like I’ve learned what I need to do to lose weight again. I still have days where stress-eating gets the better of me, but I don’t let it take me out for weeks. I come back to this team and start again. I'm also happy I made my end-of-year weight goal.
I have so many goals for 2019! I want to drink more water, make nutritious food choices, and stick to my calorie goals. Get back to doing yoga, as well as include cardio and strength. Go to bed earlier to get more sleep and have some relaxing time to read books (including weight/health books). My weight goal is to be at a healthy weight (141 pounds) for my height by the end of 2019. Even better if I get to my final goal weight!
Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments in 2018 and wishing everyone a healthy, successful 2019!

Also did great at side planks and first time in my life I’ve ever done “real” pushups.
@Mrsbell8well Way to go! And that's awesome you did the crow pose! I’m also going to do the Andriene yoga in January. I fell behind in December as the holidays got closer, so am going to continue where I left off.3 -

I'm in!!
Who's with me? We did really great in December, so let's continue our stepping in January!
@ihp2015 I'm in! I've got my Fitbit now and ready to get lots of step in!3 -
Hi my name is Patsy and this is my second month in this group. I was up and down about two pounds in December and ended pretty much where I started.
I plan to drink more water - again I start working on this and then slack off as I don't even like water - and to walk more each week. We have had LOTS of rain in NC this year with two hurricanes and just rainy weather for days at a time that keep me indoors. I know I should go for a walk anyway - water is good for us.
Where in NC are you Patsy? I'm near Charlotte.1 -

Happy (almost) New Year Team Weight No More!!
I'm Nancy, 49, originally from California but my husband and I relocated to Montana 7 years ago. No kids but we have two Brittany Spaniels who are my constant companions. My favorite form of exercise is hiking with my dogs. Some would say I hike alot LOL. My husband works on large construction projects that take him away from home for extended periods. I spend a lot of time home alone in a somewhat remote area and I need to be healthy so I can take care of myself and chores while he's away. His last job he worked in Pennsylvania for 22 months straight. Super grateful to have him home this winter.
When I hit my forty's my metabolism changed and I couldn't eat like I used to. A couple of years and 40 pounds later I realized I needed to do something different. I couldn't continue to add 10 pounds/year. In December 2016 I topped out at 220. I joined MFP, did a total overhaul on my eating and began strength training. My favorite is JessicaSmithTV strength training videos on YouTube. My husband gave me a Bowflex Max Trainer for Christmas so that fills the cardio component I was missing.
I joined the Fat to Fit challenge Nov 2017. I’ve lost about 45 pounds over the last two years. My weight loss journey has been painstakingly slow but its been lasting. I'm focused on long term, sustainable changes. In my mind there's no point in giving up something short term that I'll return to later just to put the weight back on. I use a Fitbit to track my steps and remind me to move if I've been sitting too long.
I'm keeping my goals for January relatively simple as winter has settled in:
- Increase my water (I drink quite a bit of water but would like to up it. Its just so hard when its cold)
- Plan dinners ahead for the week or at least a couple days in advance
- Do some form of exercise at least 6, hopefully 7 days a week
- If I'm unable to get 10,000 steps/day at least move each hour for 8 hours as reminded by my Fitbit
- Try to improve my sleep quality (I make bad food decisions when I'm sleep deprived) Tried to do this in November and failed miserably.
This is a great, supportive team. Not sure where I would be without the support, guidance, tips, etc. Speaking of my dogs, they won't stop staring at me so I gotta get them out for a walk. Will catch up on posts a bit later. Have a great day everyone!!

@Shirin_K I didn’t realize that we were so similar. We both started F2F in August I think...and our heights and weights r very close. It will be fun to get to our healthy weights together. Glad your doing yoga.
@nstephen01 glad your hanging in there with us Nancy. I’m loving watching your progress.
@amsandos great job getting back on track!
@czvanut glad ur in on yoga challenge!2 -
@twyla77 considering how much weight most peeps gain over the holidays...in comparison your a huge success. Just a little bump. Regroup, commit and get to your goal! You can do this. Great holiday maintain!4

@cyndiesstuff 2019 will be your year! I'm very excited to follow your journey of a new way of eating. Thank you for all you do to make this a great, successful team!
Welcome @czvanut! We live 4 hours from Glacier... I think you will really enjoy your visit. Its a beautiful park.
WTG @Mrsbell8well on the crow pose. Wow... that's a tough one. I have nowhere near the upper body strength to pull that off. You're an inspiration. I have enjoyed following your journey... thank you for being so open with us.
Great week 1 @CassieGetsFit2013 I think 2019 is going to be a great year for you girl!!
@sleepymom5 I am super cranky when I'm sick. Get well soon... no fun to be sick over New Year's. Thank you also for your efforts to make this a great, successful team!
@cafelelia Welcome!!
@Shirin_K Big Congratulations on reaching your end-of-year weight goal!! I love your goals for 2019!!
Still catching up on posts... love how we're starting off strong. Make 2019 your best year yet!!4 -
@sleepymom5 and @cyndiesstuff I would love to be able to get in the step challenge for January if I can. I got my new Fitbit and up for a challenge.
I'm Tracy 46, I live in New Hampshire married for 23 years. I have 2 boys 24 and 21. My youngest lives at home with us. I am an assistant director in childcare so some days are exhausting. I gain and lose the same couple of pounds it's very frustrating. I do have ibs so I need to find a new way of eating.
2018 was not a good year, I did not do well with my weight, my youngest son was in a terrible car accident and has had many surgeries. Still another one to come. My husband is getting laid off from work. He has been with his company 22 years. They moved is department to Texas, we could have moved there but I'm good. So he has been job hunting. Oh yes and my Fitbit had broke, I had withdrawals, that was an awful week, lol.
My goals for 2019 .... I am going to take it one month at a time so I don't give up on myself so easy. I am going to start getting up early again to workout. Up my water intake, log my food ( I always quit that). I am also reading some books to figure out how to eat.7 -
Tracy I'm so sorry about your son. I hope his next surgery goes well. Also hope your husband finds a new job soon!
I have a question: our calorie goal is based on a deficit - so when you get to the end of the day and you're still under that goal, should you be worried? Should you eat more? I felt like I ate a lot today, but I'm still under 1,000 calories.
Breakfast was fruit, 5 oz Greek yogurt, bacon, and black coffee
Lunch was leftover homemade spaghetti and meat sauce 6 oz (measured it)
Supper was broiled fish, broccoli, carrots, a piece of garlic bread, and a martini
also snuck a cookie for dessert
today's check-in:
Logged all food & under goal
Water: 48 oz so far
Exercise: nope - but running around with a toddler tomorrow3 -
Dinner (330 cals) - emeals Hoppin Johnny soup; love the emeals quick and healthy plan. Anyone else use meal planning program?
Night snack (345 cals) - love this Bolthouse dressing with salad and raw veggies. So good and low calorie.6 -
Hello everyone and welcome new team members!
I have been on the team for 1 month only but I really like the concept and group of people here so hope you will stay with us and enjoy the journey.
I am a stay at home mom of 3.5 year old girl, originally from Europe, currently living in Pennsylvania.
When I gave birth to my daughter I almost hit 200 pounds which was way too much. I totally let myself go during and after pregnancy. I have been trying to lose some on and off for past 3 years and going between 170-160.
I finally decided to take it to another level and be more active and eat well. I started oct 20 at 165lbs and I’m down to 149ish as of today.
Goal weight is 128-130, lots of muscle:)
Ive been lifting weights and walking, jogging.
For 2019:
As of tomorrow I’m starting new workout routine - more intense than I did in past 10 weeks- 4 day split - heavy weight lifting, and 2 cardio sessions (treadmill or outdoors jog) a week.
Keep Tracking all my food and eating well.
Goal is to be around 135 by March 31.
Also we want another baby. We wanted to have another one earlier but I was never ready bc I knew being 35-40 pounds overweight - it would just get worse so yes I’m losing to get pregnant.
But this time around I want to be healthy and workout through whole pregnancy but let’s not get there yet. One step at a time.
Goals for January:
-lose 5 pounds
-keep up with workouts and good eating habits and get 7h of sleep every night
-be more positive and patient
2 more days to survive. I have been baking today and still have some stuff left to do for tomorrow (ham and cheese puff pastry wheels, side dishes - thank god husband is taking care of the meat dishes) bc we are hosting a New Years dinner and party for family - 20 ish people.
This whole week was one big party. We went to relatives, had people over couple of times. Tomorrow our place, New Year’s Day - inlaws lunch.
It was fun but I can’t wait to go back to normal routine and quiet house. 2 more days and it’s over

I am absolutely delighted to have stayed the same after the terrible start to the week. I have started my New Year Resolutions a bit early. I went for a swim this morning and I have come back feeling absolutely fantastic. I had designated today to be a treat day where I can have sugar and booze. You know what I feel so good I don't know if I will. Plus if I do well I might get a loss next week.
@lenka1 interesting to hear you talking about weights. I have just started weight training. I didn't think I would like it. I have done it before and found it boring. I have just started a new programme which a friend has put me on to. Although it is early days I am really enjoying it. It feels a bit like I have got as far as I can go fitness wise without getting lighter and strong.
@ljdanny - welcome and good luck. I think you are wise to take it a month at a time. Breaking any task into smaller chunks can make it less scary

We've reached the last day of 2018, and I can't wait to start the new year!
@twyla77: it's just small gain! Get back on track again today, and that gain will disappear again before you know it.
@Mrsbell8well: great job on 57 consecutive days of yoga! That's an awesome accomplishment! I love your goals for 2019. Have you ever run a 5k before, or is this the first time that you're going to do it?
@shirin_k: I think those are some very good goals for 2019. I, too, have to make sure I get to bed earlier. I'm not a morning person, so normally it's not easy for me to fall asleep before at least 11 pm, but I'm hoping that if I make it more of a regular thing by going to bed 10 pm every night, it will become easier. Also, I look forward to seeing you on the stepping challenge. What's your username for Fitbit? We do regular Fitbit challenges on this team, so if you want to join us, I can invite you!
@sleepymom5: I hope you're feeling better today!
@ljdanny: I hope your son is doing better. My stepdaughter had a work related accident earlier this month, and she got out of the hospital on Christmas Day, so I know how you feel. Hopefully your son's last surgery goes well!
@amsandos: great job on your maintain!

So, it looks like we already have 3 challengers ready for the step challenge this month:
@ihp2015

@Shirin_K

Yesterday i did my grocery shopping for my new food plan. It is pretty paleo. I am ok with that. I spent three to 4 hours prepping the food for this week to make it easy to follow. Also helped Mom with her pills for a couple weeks and the old boy help fix mom and dad's shower. All and all feeling pretty good about this. I have everything ready for the day. We will see where it goes. I have to work today but then I have tuesday and wednesday off. I am happy to be on track with something new.
@czvanut Thanks for joining our team. You are going to enjoy it. Sounds like you have a very full life. And 20 pounds by summer is totally doable. lets get started with today!! and you will find much support here. and lots of usefull information to help you on your journey. and yes cleaning and cooking is exercise. it certainly burns more calories than sitting on the couch.
@eyesopennow first of all i think you are hilarious! i love you corny sense of humor!! I know you have been struggling but this is going to be our year! 4 pounds in january is an awesome goal. get rid of that holiday garbage left in your house it is time to start the challenge!!
@CassieGetsFit2013 you have been doing soooooo good. that is a great loss for the holidays. be proud of yourself and give yourself some much deserved praise. today cassie, my friend, you are my inspiration to meet my goals!
@ihp2015 2019 is the year of goal attainment. take some time and write down your advantages irene. post them everywhere. when you come to the states you are going to be a fox!! and you are right 40 pounds is a lofty goal. better get started now. you can totally do this.
@sleepymom5 2019 is the year of Team Weight NO More! you are going to hit your goals. you have learnt so much about what it takes to live your life and still be healthy. practice practice practice. never quit learning my friend. we will do this together this year.
@Cafelelia Ohhh yes. another canadian friend. welcome to our group. ugghhhh... i hate it when an injury side tracks your progress. but lets learn this year to not let our circumstances derail us. life is tough but you are tougher!!
ok, not done responding to everyone and i still need to do my reflection. but i have to go get my 30 minute walk in before work. i will catch up when i get to work. i am going to imagine it is going to be dead today. i doubt i will even see the so called boss.

@pacsnc6 to help with water, have you tried getting an infuser? I have one, it holds about 60 oz. you can put different fruit in it or veggies if you like. and it gives the water a hint of flavor. I like it a lot better than just plain water. but when I do have plain water, I like my over ice.
@twyla77 2019 is going to be our year. that's just a small gain. time to refocus on the advantages of losing weight. write them down and read them often.
@Mrsbell8well I loved your idea of reflection. it is so important to learn from our previous experiences whether good or bad so that we may learn from them. yes! good job on that 30 yoga challenge. I am going to try it with you again. pain flair stopped me last time. we starting tomorrow? and in 2019 we are going to meet our goals. you are truly an inspiration.
@CassieGetsFit2013 we love you too girl!!
@ihp2015 please don't look down on 34 pounds. that is a great achievement. you had so many obstacles this past year. and still lost weight. you never gave up. you may have gotten side tracked but you got right back on the path and continued on. you are a strong vibrant woman and you will be a success in 2019.
@Shirin_K you are doing so well. that is 23 pounds gone forever!! ahhh... stress eating is a big down fall that I think many of us struggle with. we need to try and find replacements to stress eating. what will we do instead? you will be at goal weight in 2019. I have faith in your strength!
@amsandos great job on your daily check in. and you are right. every change adds up no matter how small. maintains are good this time of year. it is so funny you say that because I started my resolution early too. lol.
@nstephenson01 slow and steady wins the race. you are doing awesome. I appreciate your check ins. and I love your attitude. you have some really great goals for 2019. you will be successful. my fiancé has already said there is no way I am going to eat all those veggies. for breakfast I had a smoothie. spinach, kale stems, raspberries, strawberries, and cashew milk. it was filling and tasted pretty good. I had coconut milk in my coffee this morning. glueten free, sugar free, and dairy free. that's the plan.
@ljdanny 2019 is our year. you keep that positive attitude and we are going to meet our goals.
@czvanut they say that healthy diet for a woman has to be at least 1200 calories. try adding a few nutritionally dense snacks and it really helps to plan your food in advance. I plan my main meals on sunday and then everyday, in the morning I do my food plan for the day. then record it in mfp. this way it is a commitment and you know exactly what you have to eat. planning will end up being your best tool for a successful weight loss journey.
@phoebe112476 that soup looks amazing, YUMMMMM. i am going to have to look that site up. i am always on board for new recipes that fit my eating plan. I love bolt house too. also have you tried hidden valley greek yogurt dressing? also very good.
@lenka1 we enjoy your input too. I am glad you are finding out team helpful. it feels so good to know that you are not in this alone. you have a great plan for 2019. what kind of foods are you going to include in your plan?
1 -
