Greg aka @Navydaddjtc here one of your team Captains and moderators along with Becky aka @Beka3695. This year 2018.... as it comes to an end has stunk for me personally. My younger brother died in October and mom and my older brother are not doing so good either. So 2019 is not starting off that good.
I am a retired/disabled Navy spec ops vet handling War dogs in Vietnam. I worked as an Executive Chef at sea on board ocean gong tug boats for 13 years I was medically retired from there after a tug boat/ barge accident. I just recently retired from the Boys&Girls Club after 20 years as a Chef Instructor. That job was very satisfying for me.
I have been on the Workout wonders and the Workout Warriors for sometime now and
THE FAT 2 FIT WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE is my home for weight loss. I truly treasure the friendships I have made here and have enjoyed the GOOD,BAD AND THE UGLY TIMES we all have shared from time to time.

I WILL FIGHT IT WITH EVERYTHING I CAN...MY MEDICAL TEAM...MY NUTRITIONIST....MY FAMILY.....AND MY TEAM OF WARRIORS
I WILL DRAW MY INSPIRATION FROM MY TEAM MATES...... I WILL PUSH MY SELF WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS BODY AND IT'S PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS..... I WILL NOT SURRENDER....I WILL NOT QUIT ON YOU MY TEAM MATES...IT IS

Here’s my 2018/2019 reposted
What have you accomplished in 2018 that you are proud of?
For me I have done a great job with my yoga plan. I am on day 57 of consecutive yoga days.
This year I have lost 37 pounds.
I have completely overhauled my "diet". I have survived two major cleanses including giving up caffeine, sugar, gluten, dairy, animal products and alcohol.
My "GERD" symptoms have vanished.
I went from "obese" to "overweight"
2019:
January I will hit the 40 pounds lost marker with 20 left to go. It's a stretch but I expect to see 159.8 by January 31st.
I will hit my goal of weighing 142 and be in the "normal" range by June 1st.
I will successfully begin and complete the C25K 8 week training program.
By my birthday October 7th I expect to be down to a manageable maintenance weight. 135 ish?
By This time next year I will be a slender, toned, strong, radiantly healthy woman.
My workout routine will include yoga, running, walking, hiking, and strength training.
I will wear cute little clothes...size 10? 8? 6?...no idea.
I will have some pretty cute new sexy bikinis to wear pool side!
Ready to say bye bye to 2018 and THANK YOU! Thank you to this team and all the continued love and support.
Come on 2019...I am ready!!!! Are you????

Today successfully completes day 30 December yoga challenge. For me that is 60 days in a row! I am planning to do the same Adrienne you tube yoga challenge for January. Any other yoga fans want to join me? It’s amazing the results. Carpal tunnel gone. Strong muscles-yes. Flexibility and balance...yes yes! This month my goal was the crow pose and I did it! Also did great at side planks and first time in my life I’ve ever done “real” pushups.4

Intro- I’m Angelina and it is true I eat well!!!
I have been married to my wife for 2 years. The OF (old folks) moved in with us in February due to emergency medical intervention for mom. Took her from CA hospital bed to our home in Virginia. Robin my daughter is a nurse. She works at the hospital walking distance to us. Skylynn is my precious 9 year old granddaughter that lives with us 1/2 the time when her mom works. My weight loss journey has taken many dramatic turns since I began in July 11th 2018. I have lost 37 pounds total and have only had 1 weigh in with a gain. I started at 202.8 size 3x. Currently 165.8 size 12. October 15th I gave up almost everything in an effort to improve my health. I am “beegan” with an interest in adaptogens, and raw foods. I post lots of food pics to show how gorgeous nutritious food can be.
Welcome back everyone and let 2019 be our true journey into radiant health!7 -
So I just had a look at the spreadsheet from last year January, and I apparently lost 34 lbs in 2018. That's less than 1 lbs per week!!
Not too great, and I know I shouldn't complain, but I hope 2019 goes better than 2018!

@sleepymom5 so sorry your dealing with congestion. Have u tried zinc? I’m a big fan. Lozenges that I use if I’m around sick peeps or feel like I’m vulnerable to sickness. Helps to prevent or at least alleviate duration.
@pacsnc6 patsy so glad you are back with us. Nothing like a fresh start!
@Cafelelia welcome!!! Jump on in. I like to use this group as a way to offer support and to post my personal journey.
@czvanut looking forward to getting to know u better in January and marveling at your weight loss!!!
@ihp2015 congrats on your 70 pound weight loss. That is a great accomplishment. Motivates me to stay the course!
Good luck everyone on a truly successful January. I am spending the day writing my January goals. Will post on the first.1 -

Hi! My name is Shirin and this will be my 5th month on the team. I'm 39, married to a wonderful man, live in Minnesota, and I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 6 and 3 year old. I joined this team after realizing I needed to try something new to lose the weight I had gained from pregnancy (plus some). My starting weight in August 2018 was 192. My current weight is 169 and aiming for a final weight of 130 pounds (I'm 5'3"). This team has helped me to be accountable and I always appreciate the ideas and support from other members!
Reflecting on the past year, I’m really proud of how I’ve changed since committing to getting healthier by joining this team. I love that exercise has just become a normal part of my day and makes me feel better/stronger/more flexible. I feel like I’ve learned what I need to do to lose weight again. I still have days where stress-eating gets the better of me, but I don’t let it take me out for weeks. I come back to this team and start again. I'm also happy I made my end-of-year weight goal.
I have so many goals for 2019! I want to drink more water, make nutritious food choices, and stick to my calorie goals. Get back to doing yoga, as well as include cardio and strength. Go to bed earlier to get more sleep and have some relaxing time to read books (including weight/health books). My weight goal is to be at a healthy weight (141 pounds) for my height by the end of 2019. Even better if I get to my final goal weight!
Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments in 2018 and wishing everyone a healthy, successful 2019!

@Mrsbell8well Way to go! And that's awesome you did the crow pose! I’m also going to do the Andriene yoga in January. I fell behind in December as the holidays got closer, so am going to continue where I left off.3 -

@ihp2015 I'm in! I've got my Fitbit now and ready to get lots of step in!3 -
Hi my name is Patsy and this is my second month in this group. I was up and down about two pounds in December and ended pretty much where I started.
I plan to drink more water - again I start working on this and then slack off as I don't even like water - and to walk more each week. We have had LOTS of rain in NC this year with two hurricanes and just rainy weather for days at a time that keep me indoors. I know I should go for a walk anyway - water is good for us.
Where in NC are you Patsy? I'm near Charlotte.1 -

I'm on board with Adrienne yoga!!! I didn't finish her original 30 day challenge because I got sick around day 12, but I'm signing in for the new January Dedicate challenge.5 -
Happy (almost) New Year Team Weight No More!!
I'm Nancy, 49, originally from California but my husband and I relocated to Montana 7 years ago. No kids but we have two Brittany Spaniels who are my constant companions. My favorite form of exercise is hiking with my dogs. Some would say I hike alot LOL. My husband works on large construction projects that take him away from home for extended periods. I spend a lot of time home alone in a somewhat remote area and I need to be healthy so I can take care of myself and chores while he's away. His last job he worked in Pennsylvania for 22 months straight. Super grateful to have him home this winter.
When I hit my forty's my metabolism changed and I couldn't eat like I used to. A couple of years and 40 pounds later I realized I needed to do something different. I couldn't continue to add 10 pounds/year. In December 2016 I topped out at 220. I joined MFP, did a total overhaul on my eating and began strength training. My favorite is JessicaSmithTV strength training videos on YouTube. My husband gave me a Bowflex Max Trainer for Christmas so that fills the cardio component I was missing.
I joined the Fat to Fit challenge Nov 2017. I’ve lost about 45 pounds over the last two years. My weight loss journey has been painstakingly slow but its been lasting. I'm focused on long term, sustainable changes. In my mind there's no point in giving up something short term that I'll return to later just to put the weight back on. I use a Fitbit to track my steps and remind me to move if I've been sitting too long.
I'm keeping my goals for January relatively simple as winter has settled in:
- Increase my water (I drink quite a bit of water but would like to up it. Its just so hard when its cold)
- Plan dinners ahead for the week or at least a couple days in advance
- Do some form of exercise at least 6, hopefully 7 days a week
- If I'm unable to get 10,000 steps/day at least move each hour for 8 hours as reminded by my Fitbit
- Try to improve my sleep quality (I make bad food decisions when I'm sleep deprived) Tried to do this in November and failed miserably.
This is a great, supportive team. Not sure where I would be without the support, guidance, tips, etc. Speaking of my dogs, they won't stop staring at me so I gotta get them out for a walk. Will catch up on posts a bit later. Have a great day everyone!!
