@sleepymom5 boy that is tough about your mom. made even tougher since she does not live near you. I am sorry about your struggles. and then when the people that are there that are suppose to help don't, it makes it almost unbearable. just tie a knot at the end of your rope. it will get better soon.
@ihp2015 we will call that a maintain. get your work done girl we miss you.
@Shirin_K balance is a very good word and congrats on day two....
@Cafelelia good job at keeping up with your goals even when your sick. that is tough for sure
@Lyssysho26 no need to apologize. it is hard when you fall into a funk like you have. but don't give up. this is hard but worth it. hope you feel better soon.

Our weather is so yucky I couldn't bring myself to venture outside for a walk so I did a Leslie Sansone video after my strength training. It was a little much back to back for this girl LOL. Last two days have been pretty good food-wise and I'm drinking plenty of water. I don't prep ahead of time but pre-planning and pre-logging my dinners helps me a bunch. I schedule my exercise and dinners in my calendar each week so each day I know exactly what I have to do.
@phoebe112476 How did your dinner turn out? It sounded great and your evening plans were lovely.
Congratulations @Mrsbell8well! You are such an inspiration!! And I love your word of the year concept... never heard of it. My word is "gratitude". I would like to live my life with more of a grateful heart. Y'all are choosing really great words!!
@twyla77 how wonderful that you and your co-workers get along and have so much fun together. Maybe its all my years working in HR but you are in a very unique situation!!
@cyndiesstuff I'm still working on the whole living with hunger thing. I still get anxious when I get hungry so I stocked up on hard boiled eggs, nuts and mandarins. Good job resolving your junk food craving!
@sleepymom5 Because of my husband's job we spent last winter in Pennsylvania (he was actually there 22 months straight so I saw all Pennsylvania's seasons). Your snow is no joke. Don't tell anyone but our winters aren't nearly as bad as yours. LOL Be safe out there.
@Shirin_K Whoo Hoo... I knew you'd get back on track!

I worked out today after work even though I didn't want to. I read through everyone's posts and got motivated. I also want to make chocolate chip cookies but im not doing it, I walked out of the kitchen and shut the lights off. I really don't want to ruin the nice dinner I had, fish, salad and potatoes and a small roll. I also used a small plate. Not sure what the scale will show tomorrow because it's supposed to be tom week. It also said low battery so I'm hoping it works.6
-
Oh boy...I am tired tonight! I had a good day, I really want to have something sweet but I really had a good day so I am not going to ruin it. Have a good night everyone!
@Cafelelia You are still doing well even being sick! Hope the antibiotics kick in soon. Love your word!
@Lyssysho26 At least the scale is still going in the right direction. Hope things get better . Hugs!
@cyndiesstuff Thank you Cyndie, I just want it to be over. Ugh! How far you have come too Cyndie. Almost 50lbs! I always forget how petite you are too.
@nstephenson01 You are in such a good routine. You are really an inspiration. You have such great habits and you have been so successful with your weight loss. Keep it going!
@ljdanny I am glad that you got your workout in. I think you will be happy you didn't make the cookies too. Some days are easier than others to stick with your plan. I am glad that you were able to get some motivation from MFP and stay on course!4 -

17 day string on new plan
Well needless to say, I am a little disappointed with my weigh in. I don't know why it's up. My calories have been under all week. I told my scale that it was grounded because it was not being nice. I continue on because I know that the scale is no a true reflection of the work I am putting in.
@nstephenson01 you are doing really good at keeping your head in the game. wow. love your progress to your goal weight. that is awesome.
@ljdanny good job yesterday with no making those cookies. that would have been really hard to resist. what kind of fish did you have? how did you make it?
@sleepymom5 I know what you mean about the sweets. the urge can be tough to overcome. but tell yourself, I am losing weight. I am healthy. I eat food to nourish my body. postitive affirmations!!

I stood in the doorway. Dreading the trip to the scale. I had completed the morning ritual. I let the dog out, made the coffee, and stripped down to nothing. Why does that scale have so much power over me? Wait a minute, I remember, I am an addict. Not an addict that you would normally think of but an attic of weighing, measuring, and overthinking. As I walked to the scale, my heart sank deep in my chest. I want so badly for this new way of eating to work. I stepped on the scale, and the disappointment flooded my mind. That little voice inside my head (I call him ED, for eating disorder) became very loud. Told you it won't work. Whats the point of all the hard work? Just eat. Tim Horton's sounds good. You might as well give up. This is just who you are. And on and on ED went. Finally, I said, "you know what ED? Shut up". I have had enough of ED trying to take away all the hard work I have done. I have more to show than that number on the scale. I am making my body more healthy. The weigh loss will follow. This is me, standing up to ED. I will stay the course.

@cyndiesstuff sending you hugs. Just remember a scale doesn't tell the whole story. I try never to let it affect me. Take an assessment on how you feel instead...are you feeling healthy inside, do you have more energy, how do your clothes feels (looser??) and take measurements. I have read that as you lose weight your fat cells fill with water and it takes a couple of weeks for it to shrink down to nothing. Use the scale as a guide and a guide only!4

Good day yesterday, I am happy I got my exercise in early as I was tired when we got home from the outlets. I stuck to my plan, I didn't eat after dinner, exercised, got my steps in. Today I have a doctor's appointment and my second PT session. I am trying to get all my appointments in before I start this new job. I am also making a baked "fried" chicken for dinner which I am hoping turns out. No reason not to have another good day!
@cyndiesstuff I know I don't have to tell you not to stress about the number on the scale. You have been doing fantastic! You have lost almost 5lbs since the beginning of January. Don't let that damn scale(or ED) derail you. Also remember, this may help with your pain so you really don't want to lose the 17 days you have invested in this plan. You got this girl!! xoxo3 -
Yesterday was a pretty good day. I think my shoulder is almost all better. I'm going to the chiropractor today and maybe an adjustment will finish off the healing process. I am going to try Yoga again tonight. I think it will be ok! Yesterday was good for food and water and steps. I did go over by 86 calories but it was because I decided to have some shrimp with my steak. Since it's a healthy food I say it doesn't count
Have a great day!!5 -
Week 3 Challenge . I know it is Thursday but I missed this somehow. It is a video on Intermittent Fasting. Fyi-t is over 36 min. I am going to watch but haven't gotten to yet.

I came across a really good, detailed article that I thought could help out a bunch of people on here. I know the subject comes up a lot, and many of us on Team Weight No More have questioned why were not losing weight.
Are you having trouble losing? Maybe you think you're doing everything right, and yet no results? This is an excellent troubleshooting article to help you pinpoint why this could be. It covers in detail the most common reasons why you may not be losing. And then tells you what to do about them!

Yesterday was another good day. Not a huge loss, but I’m okay with it. I also finally got around to taking body measurements, as Cyndie once recommended. I think it will be good to evaluate those once a month. The last time I recorded body measurements on MFP was July 2014, before getting pregnant with my second child. It was an eye-opener…I was so much smaller then! I had just completed the Insanity workout program and could do tons of pushups and a high-intensity workout…I weighed 140 pounds and remember knowing I had more to do to get where I wanted. So I still have a long ways to go, but happy I’m at least working on it.

I was so frustrated with last week's weigh in. I'm glad to see my efforts were reflected on the scale this week. So many improvements aren't reflected on the scale. Hate that it has such power over us. Today is cardio day (day 22 in my exercise streak). We have snow in the forecast for the next 4 days. Yikes. So just for today I'm going to clean the house and begin a jigsaw puzzle. Steps may be low. Planning and pre-logging dinners seem to be working for me.

@carlsoda I agree 100% with what you said. Its a little more difficult than that for me tho. I have chronic pain and fatigue. So it is hard for me to gage my progress that way. See I never really feel good. But it is what it is. I do take measurements. But those don't really change week to week. And I know to not put so much stock in the scale. Thanks for caring. I really do appreciate it!!
@sleepymom5 what is your new job? yeah, I know. I am not going to quit. its just nuts tho!!
@hope002 I have punched ED in the nose before too. And threatened to duct tape his mouth shut! lol great job keeping your daily goals.
@ljdanny phew! good job. movement in the right direction. keep up the tough work.
@Shirin_K another half pound is good. you are doing great!! it is a very informative article. I got a lot out of it.
@nstephenson01 ohhhh yea girl!! I am doing the happy dance all around the office!! that is amazing. good job at preplanning and prerecording. I know it really helps me. adds a little self control. and omgosh day 22 you really got a great string going nancy! keep it up! it looks good on you.4 -
I'll be honest, I didn't do the week 3 challenge. I've been intermittent fasting for almost a year and a half now off and on now (mostly on!) and it's my favorite thing. I also listen to 1ish hour a week of the Intermittent Fasting podcast and I imagine the 80something hours of material they have covered since I started listening with episode 1 is slightly more thorough than the youtube video lol. (ifpodcast.com if anyone is interested in more information)
With my crazy schedule it helps so much to not have to think about packing ALLLL of my meals for the day the night before I work my 12 or 14 hour days. It allows me to eat larger, more satisfying meals. I don't feel guilty when I eat dinner at 10:00 at night. It makes it easier to turn down treats if you haven't "opened your window" yet. It's probably the reason I only gained back 6 of the 13 pounds I lost last year (*facepalm*)
On top of all of the reasons I like it, it apparently has a lot of health benefits that I'm assuming the video talks about. Calorie restriction being linked to longevity. Autophagy. Energy. All the things.... it works for me but I think people tend to expect too much from it as far as weight loss goes. If you want to lose weight you still have to eat at a deficit...4 -

@DananaNanas I would agree that you have had far greater exposure to IF than most people. I am so glad it works for you. How are you doing Dana?
@bbcbw yah! nice loss. good job checking in. your doing great

Congrats to great losses, guys!
And hugs to the ones who had been disappointed with the scale numbers.
Remember the number on that evil thing doesn’t measure real progress.
And no weigh loss is linear! It’s just not possible.
It will go down, slowly. All that matters is you are being consistent!
Hugs again4
