@cyndiesstuff thank you! And hope you feel much better today! And I love your new profile pic looking great!
@Mrsbell8well congrats on your new job! We knew you would get it! You’re so kind and nice!
@Shirin_K Thank you for you sweet words!! It truly messes up with me to lose the momentum but oh well. I can do it! Sooner or later! We all can!

@Mrsbell8well Congrats!!!!!! So happy for you1

Sunday - snowboarding 2 hours ( I was more on my bum than on my feet)
Monday - weights 30 min
I tried snowboarding on Sunday. It was just one beginner lesson, I didn't have much progress, but I liked it. Now I want to do both, skiing-it's easier, snowboarding-it's more fun. But it's very expensive, so I will have to choose one

Another decent day in my string. Tried to take the dogs for a walk and almost busted my *kitten* on the ice even with my cleats on so I returned home. Steps were a little low as a result. I'm not going to complain about the cold today because many of you have it way worse but I just did a 2 mile Leslie Sansone video cuz I don't feel like venturing out yet. Housework, laundry and cooking are on the agenda. Maybe I'll get outside a little later...
Congratulations on your promotion @Mrsbell8well. I had no doubt you would do well.
Feel better @cyndiesstuff!! hugs
@lenka1 I get cranky when I can't exercise and/or do the things I need to do because I'm hurting. That's a painful injury... hope you recover soon.
@ihp2015 that's interesting about the milk. I try to have a glass before I go to bed as I think it helps me sleep better. Hadn't considered it being good for muscle repair.
Gotta run... have a great day all!!

My darling husband surprised me today by getting me the new Samsung galaxy watch in gold rose.
So now I'll be spending the rest of the evening seeing it up and playing with it
Unfortunately for my Fitbit friends that probably means that I will drop out of our Fitbit challenges2 -
Daily Check in for Monday
Food - logged & on target
Water - 1 l
Exercise - Physio & 7173 steps
Omg, the snowfall was unbelievable. We have not seen this much snow in Toronto in about a decade! No school today and the boys are outside enjoying all of this white stuff. I am hot chocolate duty! Here is a photo of the boys causing chaos on the front lawn!
@Shirin_K - good luck with the kids at home! It’s fun, but exhausting!
@mrsbell8well - Congratulations!
@sleepymom5 - welcome back & good luck on Wed!
@lenka1 - Pain from injury is terrible, and I hate being limited by it. My advice is to get the chocolate out of the house as it substitutes for the exercise endorphins.
@cyndiesstuff - Love the new photo and best of luck at the doctor

Question of the day: How bad must your behavior be to get expelled from a nursing home?
We're once again on the hunt for a more suitable facility for MIL. This time we need to find a locked-down memory care facility that will take her Medicaid. Preliminary finding is there is not a single available bed in the state that meets these two requirements. If she has to move back in here, that means that Wyfe and I would be required to provide a level of safety/care that a nursing home with a staff of 150 felt unequipped to provide.
I see Breakfast Bourbon Smoothies in my future!
On the positive side, the scale is still moving in the correct direction, so stress eating is at the moment not contributing to the problem. Rejoice, always. Again, I say rejoice.8 -
@Cafelelia
that's too much snow for me - tho it's pretty. I just HATE that stuff and why I moved to the south.
@sleepymom5 yes, I finished the puzzle yesterday and no, my water intake has not kept up. I have developed the habit of drinking 8 oz first thing in the morning. Just need to add more later in the day - usually have some mid afternoon or early evening too. I keeps me in the bathroom a lot more than I'd like too. I think of water and have to go. Does that ever get better?

@cyndiesstuff - The yoga is going very well. I have been going to the class I like 3 times a week. I find it works great to go on Monday / Thursday evenings when I am already out driving my daughter to /from her gymnastics class. Then on Tuesday mornings I can go when another daughter is being driven to / from a tutoring session. Finding these times in the routine of the days has worked so good. I am noting big differences in my flexibility since starting and I am loving it!
@lenka1 - Ouch! I have had many near misses the last few crazy weather days. I hope you are recovered quickly. That is not an easy injury to heal from.
@hope002 - I am way too risk adverse (and clumsy) to do either. But I love to hear of someone who is enjoying this beautiful snowy weather. Maybe cross county skiing would be fun for me to try this winter. I will see.
@mrsbell8well - Congrats!
@nstephenson01 - I have almost fallen several times the last few days on this ice. Glad to hear you are being careful.
I have solidly established the calorie counting and have my weight loss steadily in the right direction. I feel really good about my eating plan (at least until I try to maintain). I have settled into this yoga routine and am getting to the classes three times a week regularly. I love the studio and the teachers in the classes I am now taking. My next goal is to get some strength training. I am feeling motivated to preserve as much muscle as I can (and maybe even get stronger) while in calorie deficit. I have not noted much change in my strength from the yoga and I think my analytical mind would do better with a different type of program to deal with that anyway. I set up an appointment to try the Curves circuit on Thursday. I would love this because it is only 3 minutes drive from my house and I have already found a two times a week that it fits in very well (when taking my daughter to / from a class that is right next to the Curves). I have heard much criticism that it is one size fits all and doesn't progress well once a person becomes much stronger - but I am definitely not strong now and so it may work for a season. Surely it is better than reading articles on-line about doing strength training, or even more funny, watching videos of others do the body weight routines while telling myself there is no way I could do that! I will let you all know how it goes.
My next plan is to do this "diet break" coming up in a few weeks. We will be in Orlando at Universal and Disney and it seems it will be a huge win if I can stick to near maintenance for that time frame. But I am thinking of continuing for a week when I get back to give a full week of my regular life at maintenance a trial. I am hoping I would learn some things to make actual maintenance easier and also this would give me about 2 weeks out of deficit. I am a bit more than half way thru losing this ~80 pounds and have been reading about how the break can reset the hormones in a positive way. We will see. If anyone has any experience or thoughts on this, I would welcome it.
I hope you all are able to stay warm and have a great day!6 -

The weather here is always unpredictable, so I do most of my steps on the treadmill , so my *kitten* is safe3 -

Sounds great! Did you manage to sync it with MFP? Also, how do you challenge each other via galaxy watch? I'm used to Fitbit, so need to learn new things0 -

you go to Samsung Health on your phone/Together and you find existing challenges, or start a challenge with your friends0 -
@lenka1 Thanks for always being so supportive. It is a good idea to take it easy while you heal. You don’t want to make it any worse. You have been doing so well. You can do this!
@shirin_k sounds like a great day yesterday! I am stuck at the hunger part of the book. I don’t feel like I mastered it lol!
@carlsoda I can’t believe how cold it is by you. Sounds like you are feeling better. Glad you got your steps and yoga in. Stay warm!
@cyndiesstuff. Love the new glasses! Hope you are feeling better today or at least got something to treat it at the doctors
@hope002 There isn’t room on the team as the cut it back to 10 I will keep you in mind if someone wants to drop out or gets hurt. I wish I had tried skiing or snowboarding when I was younger. They sound fun!
@nstephenson01. Keep that string going! You are doing fantastic!
@ihp2015. How exciting but we will miss you on Fitbit. The challenge starts 2/3
@cafelelia. Love the pic! Looks like they are having fun.
@eyesopennow I have never heard of such a thing. I can’t believe they are saying they can’t take care of her. Is she in skilled care? I wish I had something helpful to say. I hope you find somewhere nice soon.
@pacsnc6 no it doesn’t get better! Lol! I spend a lot of time in the bathroom!
@phoebe112476 it sounds like you have a good plan to follow. How did you figure out the calories for your eating plan. You have done so well.

Pancakes and waffles for February! I promised my granddaughter if I made my January goal we would indulge in February. I have really been thrilled with the weight loss. I’m planning to scale back down to 1 pound a week for the next 4 weeks. That should be interesting.
Last night I made almond chocolate truffle balls for both my new branches. My family loved them but I wouldn’t taste one till after weigh in.

Good Morning
I think I speak for everyone when I say, "Our Hearts and Prayers go out to everyone living in those areas that are being hit by extreme and life threatening temperatures." Please, to all our friends and families, try to stay indoors and if not, be sure to protect yourselves from the extreme cold.
As always, if you are a challenger and you are unable to participate in a weigh-in due to an emergency or natural disaster (which this is), simply let a captain or moderator know and you will be excused during that time.
To those of us who are not in those areas affected, please, be sure to take a moment and reflect or pray for those that are...
Stay Safe and Warm!
Steve

It is dangerously cold here in Michigan and many other places today. I am here at work but I doubt there will be much activity. Town is quiet. But I am in a warm office and I have my space heater running. I have packed some great food for the day and dinner is already planned. I am working on getting my momentum back.
@lenka1 The glasses are taking a little getting used to. But they are growing on me.
@hope002 I love that you are trying snowboarding. my son before he moved to florida use to snow board. I tried it. it was impossible for me to master! good luck and have fun!
@nstephenson01 yay nancy is build quite an impressive string. sounds like your day is full with household tasks.
@ihp2015 what a great present! he is a very sweet guy. I am going to miss you tho on our fit bit challenges. and yes, it is starting sunday feb 3rd and you will post your daily steps in our team weight no more thread.
@Cafelelia looks like you got about the same amount of snow as us. I love the snow as long as I don't have to venture out in it. I guess I like to look at it not play in it!!
@eyesopennow ohhhh nooo. that is terrible. I am praying for an answer.
@phoebe112476 I am so glad you found your groove! It was just ment to be. good job at staying commited to your plan. take a picture of how you are feeling right now. the momentum you have built up. it is really important for you to internalize and commit to memory this feeling of success. write it out on a stickie note and put it on the frig. you are GREAT!!
@sleepymom5 thanks about the glasses. I am still getting used to them. I have never had dark frames before. they have always been real light or frameless. but this is whats is style and they are the cutest dark purple.
@gottagetthisdown ohhh no. that's ok. you know how this works. just put that weigh in away and start again. that's the great thing about this. this one gain does not ruin all the hard work you have done.
@GingerPwr maintains are good. you have had a great January now lets hit it hard in February.
@Mrsbell8well well!!! now you have been doing awesome. I am so proud of you for all the hard work you have put in. look at the new you go. good job!! and those balls look delish!!

Home sweet home today....,-30 here in Minnesota so our office is closed today as is most of the state! Still sitting in bed drinking coffee and checking my emails. I brought my laptop home as I have some work to do, but it will be a nice quiet day!

So, it is 25 and sunny in Philly AND my first day was rescheduled to Friday because of inclement weather. I am not going to lie, I wasn't really paying attention to the weather because I was finishing up things for my Mom and trying to get stuff done to start work today. My daughter who goes to a local college about 30-40 min away got snow so I guess there was bad weather somewhere...Now I have an extra 2 days to finish up things AND to get back on track. Yesterday was ok and I hit my goals, today will have to be better.
@gottagetthisdown Hope everything is ok. We are here if you need us.
@Gingerpwr You did great this month! Maintains aren't bad. Don't let it get you down!
@Mrsbell8well OMG! The 150s!! That is awesome!! Those truffles look yummy and the presentation is beautiful!
@cyndiesstuff Sounds like you have a great day planned. You can do this! I am off since my trip so I am trying to get back on track too. Purple?! Thats so cute!! I got a dark pair too, Shannon talked me into it. They are darker and bigger than I was used to. I like them now but I didn't at first.
@carlsoda I like that you are making the best of a very cold situation! Enjoy your warm bed while you can and stay inside!4 -

Met my goals yesterday and had a lot of fun with both kids home!
@carlsoda I didn’t realize you also lived in Minnesota! I’m just north of the Twin Cities. It looks so beautiful and sunny out the window…but with an unbelievable -49 wind chill. I am getting antsy to get outside! Just a couple more days and should be nice.
@cyndiesstuff Hope you are feeling better today. You’ll find your momentum again! Stay warm!
@nstephenson01 You’re doing great! That ice can be so dangerous…good thing you found a safer alternative.
@Cafelelia Looks like your kids enjoyed their snow day! Hoping we can get out and play in the snow here soon too.
@Mrsbell8well Look at you go!! Officially in the 150s! Your almond truffles look delicious.
@eyesopennow Sure hope you can find a solution that works better soon!
@GingerPwr 6 pounds in a month is fabulous!!
@phoebe112476 Way to go getting yourself into a routine that works well for you. I also would like to add in some strength training in February, so need to get a plan in place.
@sleepymom5 Nice job hitting your goals yesterday! Enjoy your extra couple days!
