Hello everyone and thanks for all the positive feedback! I just stayed on track with my food and exercise. After being off-track for so long, my body responded quickly.
This week was a little slow go over the weekend, but I am back on track again. My hubby and sons have been sick along with many of my co-workers, I think it finally caught-up to me I am drinking lots of green tea and taking a decongestant. I went to the gym last night and felt fine. I am going to do my workout at home tonight.
The temps are supposed to drop and get bitter cold, which seems to be the case in most places in the US. Crazy weather! We have not gotten any snow yet, supposed to hit us this afternoon, but not too much accumulation. Trying to remember that summer bodies are made in the winter and summer is not too far away.
Have a wonderful day!4 -

Met my goals yesterday and had a lot of fun with both kids home!
@carlsoda I didn’t realize you also lived in Minnesota! I’m just north of the Twin Cities. It looks so beautiful and sunny out the window…but with an unbelievable -49 wind chill. I am getting antsy to get outside! Just a couple more days and should be nice.
@cyndiesstuff Hope you are feeling better today. You’ll find your momentum again! Stay warm!
@nstephenson01 You’re doing great! That ice can be so dangerous…good thing you found a safer alternative.
@Cafelelia Looks like your kids enjoyed their snow day! Hoping we can get out and play in the snow here soon too.
@Mrsbell8well Look at you go!! Officially in the 150s! Your almond truffles look delicious.
@eyesopennow Sure hope you can find a solution that works better soon!
@GingerPwr 6 pounds in a month is fabulous!!
@phoebe112476 Way to go getting yourself into a routine that works well for you. I also would like to add in some strength training in February, so need to get a plan in place.
@sleepymom5 Nice job hitting your goals yesterday! Enjoy your extra couple days!
I am west of the cities but work in Eden Prairie. So nice just staying home with the sun shining in the windows. 😂

@sleepymom5 two more days to get nervous. ughh. well at least you can get caught up from your recent trip and maybe get in a little Pam time. I feel exactly the same way about my glasses.
@Shirin_K good job at meet your daily goals. make sure to give yourself credit for all the hard things you do everyday to meet them!!
@nstephenson01 you be safe too girl. chat at you later.
I hope you can go home early. I have been working so am not falling to far behind. On my lunch break right now with my electric blanket 😁2 -
daily checkin
food under (as I am swimming later I may have a late snack and get to target)
water no idea I have been struggling to drink water as it so cold having lots of tea though
exercise 20 mins spin swimming.
@mrsbell8well yummy more delicious treats
@lenka1 well done for not giving up it is tempting when you have a set back to say hang it all.
In answer to your questions:-
Do you have a timeline for your goal? I plan on losing 1lb a week I want to make sure that I am making sensible long term changes for my diet that are sustainable. I guess I will get to goal about June. When I started the programme I lost a lot of weight really quickly and I struggled to maintain it. I also know that when I get closer to my goal my weight loss slows down weirdly the less I have to lose the harder I find it
How often do you lift weights? Cardio? I have been going 5 sessions a week but this week I have been really struggling. At the end of this cycle I start training for a half marathon so I will be doing a lot less. I do a lot of cardio because I am trying to maintain my tri fitness some might argue too much I try to do 2 swims 2 runs and 2 spins a week. It is a lot (so my husband says). I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.0 -

Daily Check In for Tuesday
Food - Logged & on target
Water - not enough!
Exercise - physio & 7652 steps
Extreme cold here in Toronto as well. Hope that everybody experiencing this stays safe & indoors. Had my physio appt today & I continue to improve! I have a new set of daily exercises this week, that are more intense & focus on core. I maybe, just maybe can see the light at the end of this tunnel. Would be great if I could run a short race (5 k) in June.1 -
Ok..It is 21 degrees here (but we are having wind) It is freezing! I just can't imagine how cold it is where you all are!! Hope this ends for you soon!!
@Shirin_K I didn't realize you were in that crazy cold weather too! Stay warm!
@Nstephenson01 Stay warm too! What do you do with the dogs? Do they just go to the bathroom quick and come back inside?
@kirsten11872 You seemed to have gotten back on track! Great job! Keep it going!
@cyndiesstuff Hope you stayed warm and went straight home after work!
@ihp2015 Keep it going! You will have a drop! At least it is heading in the right direction!
@amsandos Another nice day! Keep it up! If you're having decaf tea it counts as water too!
@Twyla77 Lol! I guess you didn't start right on Jan.1 then. Still a very big accomplishment!
@Cafelelia Glad that you can see improvement with your PT. I hope you can do the 5K, it would be something to look forward to! Stay warm!6 -
We had some snow overnight, I did some shoveling today for my workout because I just wasn't feeling it today. The next few days are going to be freezing, they are already delaying the start for some schools. Not looking good on the scale, I just think we are not friends. I have been working out and eating right. I feel like I am getting up at 4 for nothing when I actually could be sleeping.4

@sleepymom5 - I am following the calorie goal given to me by MFP to lose one pound a week. I then record my exercise as 50% of the actual time spent and try to eat as MFP recommends each day. I have been losing closer to 1.5 pounds per week - so I think I will increase up to 75% of my exercise calories soon. I am not burning much in this way so I am not sure it matters much for me.
@Shirin_K - What options are you considering for strength training? Would love to know what you find works. Not super confident about this curves thing - but my first session is tomorrow, and I am trying to hold off initial judgement until I try it. Plus - it clearly seems better than none. And I am trying hard not to let “great” become the enemy of “good enough for right now.”
@cyndiesstuff - Your words are so wise and encouraging. Thank you!
I have really enjoyed the podcast “Losing 100 Pounds” with Phit and Phat lately. I really liked the episode 92 when I listened a few days ago. Anyone else hear it? Any other podcasts you all find helpful in this journey? Of note - a decent amount of cussing in each podcast; in case anyone decides to listen.
Dinner tonight was very yummy and pretty. I had to take a picture. Stay warm. Have a great evening.

I came across 2 quotes that I love. “When a goal matters enough to a person, that person will find a way to accomplish what at first seemed impossible”.

Hope your all staying safe and warm. We just had a delicious family dinner together. Chipotle lentils in the crockpot. I served it with a bed of spinach, green and red cabbage, brown rice and topped it with homemade vegan sour cream that my daughter brought over, avocado, chopped onions and cilantro. Skylynn had 4 servings.
I had a great day meeting with my two teams today. My start date will be in a couple of weeks but I wanted to jump in and get started early. This is going to be fun!
I just realized I only have 7500 steps. Oh boo...got to get up out of my cozy recliner and start stepping. Finished my 3rd consecutive month of 30 day yoga challenge.
Looking forward to February2 -
@ljdanny Shoveling is a great workout...not fun but good exercise. Just because the scale isn't moving in the right direction, doesn't mean you are getting up for nothing. Don't give up. Are you taking measurements? How are your clothes fitting? @cyndiesstuff posted this earlier. It is worth checking out. Just don't give up! Hugs!

@phoebe112476 Dinner looks yummy! As usual! I tried to find that podcast but couldn't . I will have to ask my kids to show me how to do it Lol! It sounds like something I would like to listen to.
@Mrsbell8well I love both of those quotes! Sounds like another yummy dinner. I love how Skylynn tries and enjoys all of your cooking at her age. That is awesome!2 -

-18 degrees this morning. burr.... I really don't want to talk about my weight gain. I know why it happened. It is a combination of things really. First of all, I ate to much crap. Secondly, it's TOM. and Third, well, ED would not shut up. I am really struggling but I haven't given up. I have started again this morning with good intentions. But that is how I started yesterday too and failed eating healthy. I know how this works. I am a team captain for crying out loud. I need to get my head back in this... Shut up ED!!!
@kirsten11872 ohhh no. the sickness got you to. feel better soon. get some rest.
@ihp2015 you got this Irene. maintains are good. at least the scale is going in the right direction.
@amsandos what is spin swimming? sounds neat. maybe set a reminder on you phone to drink water.
@twyla77 yay you your ACTUALLY FOR REAL done! lol good job.
@Cafelelia Good job at staying commited to your rehab. it sure has been frigid. Be safe.
@sleepymom5 it was -18 for me this morning. not taking into account the wind chill. BURRRRR
@ljdanny I understand your frustration but don't give up on it. sometimes it just takes some time for your body to adjust. I know its a struggle but don't quit.
@phoebe112476 I am gonna have to try and look that up, I am not all that tech savy, so how would a person go about doing that? and you salad looks sooo yummy!
@Mrsbell8well I have to rework my dream I think. I am just struggling bad right now. I will spend some time today working on putting my dream into words. maybe that will help. you are going to be an awesome boss. look at you , making them like you already by bringing them treats!!
@bbcbw nice loss. you are not officially in the 180's. whole new ball game. great job at getting the scale to move down.6 -
@cyndiesstuff and @sleepymom5 - I am not sure if this will work but here is a link that may take you to episode 92. I have listened to much of the first 20 episodes and enjoyed her. Episode 92 was so very good for me to hear.

It feels great to finally have a loss, but even better than that is the feeling of being in control and getting confidence back that I can do this! Going to take this momentum right into February!
@phoebe112476 For strength training, I plan on doing strength videos at home – either from YouTube or from the workout DVDs I already have. Good luck today!

Slowly getting into the swing of things. I need to get the snacking under control. Today we are going to the cheesecake factory for dinner. Shannon is looking at the menu so I am going to be lazy and just get what she does Lol! We are going for my son's birthday or else I would change where we are going. Tomorrow is my first day at work so I won't be here in the morning unless I get up super early. I am going to see how it goes... Have a great day everyone!!
@bbcbw Nice loss!
@cyndiesstuff Don't let ED get you down, keep fighting! You are worth it!!
@phoebe11247 It worked! I did see that podcast but it was under another name. Thanks for posting it!
@Shirin_K Nice loss! You are doing so good! Let's have a great February!

Pushed myself a little harder during yesterday's strength training session and am feeling the effects today. After beginning the week strong I have zero motivation today. I don't have the next few dinners planned and its making me feel anxious. I need to get my head and butt in gear or this loss will become a gain. We have two days of mild weather and then snow for the next five so I have zero excuses to not be productive today.
@phoebe112476 Your dinner looks delicious.
@Shirin_K Congatulations! I hope to join you in the 160's soon!
Ooh @sleepymom5 I love Cheesecake Factory. Used to eat there often when I lived in CA. Fortunately they aren't here in Montana.1
