FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD AND TIME CONSUMING WORK YOU DID IN MY ABSENCE.
I AM TRYING TO GET MY HEALTH BACK IN ORDER AND BETWEEN TESTS AND APPOINTMENT IT WAS A STRUGGLE FOR ME KEEP UP WITH IT ALL. I WAS ASKED TO STEP BACK THIS MONTH FOR THE REGISTRATION PROCESS WHILE MY BODY, MY DOC'S AND I FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.
TESTING IS DONE RESULTS ARE IN...... SOME GOOD SOME NOT SO GOOD....REFERRALS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE APPROPRIATE SPECIALISTS SO THAT'S WHERE WE ARE AS OF NOW.
I WILL STILL WILL HANDLE THE WARRIORS ALONG WITH STEVE. THAT'S NOT A BIG THING AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT NO PROBLEM.
I AM A WARRIOR AND A NAVY MAN AND I WILL NOT GIVE UP. IT'S NOT IN A WARRIORS DNA OR VOCABULARY TO QUIT OR THROW IN THE TOWEL OR ANYTHING ELSE OF THAT NATURE. I WILL FIGHT THIS WITH THE INTENSITY I FOUGHT WITH BACK ION THE DAY.
IN CLOSING THANK YOU ALL FROM BOTH MARCIE AND MYSELF FOR THE WELL WISHES AND CONTINUED SUPPORT.

Hi Everyone! My name is Pam. I am one of the captains along with @cyndiesstuff I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia. During the summer I am mostly at the Jersey Shore. I have been married 28 years and have 5 children 27-18. I am a nurse but semi retired, I actually am starting a new job on Friday. I am not sure how I feel about it because it is a "desk" job and I am used to moving and doing patient care. However, if I want to spend the summers at the shore, this is a perfect option for me. I also have just returned from moving my elderly Mother in Florida into an assisted living so I am trying to get back into the swing of things.
I will move on with my intro....I was never overweight, although I always thought I was fat growing up. I gained A TON of weight with my pregnancies and ended up at 221lbs. Unfortunately that ended up being my heaviest even when I wasn't pregnant . At the end June of 2012 I decided I either had to get serious and lose weight or accept that I am obese and live my life. I got a fitbit and joined MFP on July 1, 2018. Since then, I have gained and lost 30 or more pounds a few times. I have never gotten back to that starting weight but have gotten close. Although I haven't been as successful with my weight loss as I would like, I have learned a lot. I eat so much healthier than I used to. I also am in pretty good shape, I love to hike, walk, kayak and bike. Actually anything outdoors I usually enjoy. I do have a home gym in PA which has a bike, treadmill, elliptical, weights and a few other things. I also see a trainer twice a week when I am in PA. I really have no excuse not to exercise. I had been derailed since March but finally got back on track in August. I gained about 20 lbs during that time. That is the same time we were moving my Mom from her house to an assisted living. It was a very stressful time. I am slowly getting the weight off from that gain. I feel like things are going to be different this time. I am really looking at things differently that I knew before but they hadn't really sunk in.
This team really helped get me out of my slump. This is more than just weighing in weekly. The checking in daily really helps keep me focused. I also learn a lot from everyone and also get support when I really need it. I am also lucky to have the support from my daughter who also wants to lose a little weight and eat healthier.

@cyndiesstuff and @sleepymom5 - I am not sure if this will work but here is a link that may take you to episode 92. I have listened to much of the first 20 episodes and enjoyed her. Episode 92 was so very good for me to hear.

Edited to add: I am not part of this program and am not recommending this program. I just have found many of the podcasts very helpful along my journey. Also - lots of f bombs, in case that is offensive to you.1 -
February introduction: I am 42 y/o divorced single mom to three (yes THREE) teen girls. I have been overweight (about 180 pounds and size 14 on my 5'5" frame) for my entire adult life. I was not concerned about it and did not have any issue with the way I looked at this weight. I ate healthy as defined by lots of fruits and veggies, low processed foods and desserts, and high in whole grains, etc. I maintained this weight for several decades and although it was in the overweight category I felt healthy.
I was then in a short and very disastrous marriage. My now ex-husband took over the cooking and all my good eating went out the window to be replaced by high fat, highly process meals void of any fruits or veggies (no joke - he would make ribs for dinner and on the plate would be only the ribs covered with BBQ sauce). Also lots of snacking on bags of candy and adding in sugared drinks after years of drinking almost only water. In the short one year of our marriage I gained quite a bit of weight due to this major change in my eating and all the stress. I am not blaming, just explaining. I was the one who put that junk in my mouth. After the separation and divorce I continued eating that way for a few months because it had become my new baseline. I had to keep buying bigger clothes but did not weight myself (like ever) and did not see the weight gain on myself (really just don't notice these types of things in myself or others).
One day over the summer I decided I needed to embrace this issue and get back to a healthy way of eating. I decided to commit to recording what I was eating and weekly weights as a starting point. I found MPF as a way to recording my intake and weights. It was 8/4/18 and I weighed 228.5 pounds. As I started using the app I stumbled into the forums and learned SO much from this community. After a few days I put in my info and started using the calorie goal for "one pound a week loss." I fairly easily returned to my previous way of eating with a few modifications for lower calorie / higher protein choices. I have lost 42 pounds since that time and logged every day since 8/4/18. I am coming up on 6 months. I am back to my "normal" adult weight and clothing sizes. I
I have decided that this was an opportunity for me to be healthier for my girls. They need a good example and they need me around as long as possible. So I am aiming for a healthy BMI (~150 pounds) for the first time since my early 20's. I am also starting to add exercise into my routine for the first time in my entire life. I have never been coordinated or active in any exercise aside from occasionally in my life. I am committed to yoga three days a week and am starting at Curves for 2-3 times a week strength training here in about 5 minutes! I am so very grateful for this community. The support and opportunity for me to "be with" like minded and focused people has really helped me to be successful. Off to my first Curves work out. Have a great day!8 -

Slowly getting into the swing of things. I need to get the snacking under control. Today we are going to the cheesecake factory for dinner. Shannon is looking at the menu so I am going to be lazy and just get what she does Lol! We are going for my son's birthday or else I would change where we are going. Tomorrow is my first day at work so I won't be here in the morning unless I get up super early. I am going to see how it goes... Have a great day everyone!!

First of all, I don't think we are getting any new people this month because they are adding a whole new team.
Well good morning everyone. I can't believe it is February. Time sure does fly by. My name is Cyndie and I am one of the Team captains along with @sleepymom5. @Mrsbell8well and @ihp2015 are our team motivators. I have been with this group since September 2017. I started my weight loss journey January of 2017 when I had reached my highest weight of 196 pounds. I am only 5 foot tall so that was a lot of mass to stack on this short little frame. Currently, I weigh 153.5 pounds and need to loose about 15 more pounds. So with the help and support of my Teammates and friends here I have lost a total of 45 pounds. I use the simple calories in/calories out method (ci/co). I have towards the last couple of months payed a little closer attention to my macros only because my blood sugar was borderline diabetic. But as of my last physical all my numbers are in line!! My main form of exercise is walking and yoga. I have some sort of chronic pain condition. None of the experts can seem to agree on what it is so I just call it chronic pain. I have been ill since 2011 and they (the supposed experts who can't even agree on what it is) don't believe that my pain will go away.
My fiance proposed to me at last christmas and i said yes. We will be getting married in the late spring this year. I have 2 adult children. I live in Michigan. My oldest is a mentally handicapped 33 year old man who lives on his own but is still very dependent on me to live his life. My youngest is a 28 year old man who lives in Florida. I have two grandchildren, one is 12 and one is 5. I live in michigan and work full time as an office manager of a finance company. My parents are both 86 and my mother has been extremely sick the last year. So i spend lots of time with doctors visits, hospitals and physical therapy. Besides getting to know one another, the reason i tell you all of this is because i want you to see first thing that life happens and i have been losing weight anyway. It is all a choice. If you want it bad enough you will do what it takes to make it happen in spite of your hectic chaotic life.
I am an open book. I come here and tell the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is the way this works.
So now on to Team business:
I ask that you please check in daily or more if you please. But minimally daily. Many of us here check in with the following format.
Check in for: Thursday

I'm Nancy, 49, originally from California but my husband and I relocated to Montana 7 years ago. We have two Brittany Spaniels who are my constant companions. My favorite form of exercise is hiking with my dogs. Some would say I hike alot LOL. My husband works on large construction projects that take him away from home for extended periods. I spend a lot of time home alone on 25 acres in a somewhat remote area and I need to be healthy so I can take care of myself and necessary chores while he's away. I also spend a lot of time traveling back and forth to wherever he might be working. His last project he worked in Pennsylvania for 22 months straight. I'm so grateful to have him home this winter.
Following a couple of challenging life events over a 4 year span, I topped out at 220 at the end of December 2016. I joined MFP, did a total overhaul on my eating and began strength training. My favorite is JessicaSmithTV strength training videos on YouTube. My husband gave me a Bowflex Max Trainer for Christmas so that fills the cardio component I was missing. I joined the Fat to Fit challenge Nov 2017. I’ve lost about 45 pounds over the last two years. My weight loss journey has been painstakingly slow but its been lasting. I'm focused on long term, sustainable changes. In my mind there's no point in giving up something short term that I'll return to later just to put the weight back on. I use a Fitbit to track my steps/activity. At the end of June I turn 50 and plan to be at my goal weight (160ish) then.
My goals for February are:
- Lose 4 pounds
- Drink 72 - 84 oz water/day
- Track my food in MFP
- Do some form of exercise at least 6, hopefully 7 days a week
This is a great, supportive team. Not sure where I would be without the support, guidance, tips, etc. Wishing everyone a fantastic February!!9 -
@nstephenson01 I LOVE Brittany spaniels! My dad bred and trained them for hunting. They are the sweetest dogs!
Happy February, everyone! I'm Casey, I'm 42, mom of 2 boys, ages 17 and 11, and my hubs and I are coming up on our 20th anniversary in May. I've been on MFP since 2012 and have managed to gain weight every year instead of lose. I've been in a constant cycle of re-dedicate, lose a little, plateau, get frustrated, give up, gain more, then back to step 1. I joined this group for the January challenge and so far have lost 6 lbs of my 20 lb goal. I love the accountability and support here, and it's so great reading through your battles and your wins and knowing that we're not alone on this journey.
February Goal:
Get to a 10lb total loss.
Control my afternoon snacking
Keep doing daily yoga.6 -
Who do I want to be when I get to my goal weight? Who will I be? I certainly will not be the same person I am now. A lot of who I am now is unhealthy. I am going to be healthy. I will be someone who enjoys activity. I will prep food and prepare healthy meals.
Who will you be when you get to your goal weight?3 -

@GingerPwr Yay another Brittany lover!! They’re a great breed. My husband hunted with our two for years but now they’re retired couch potatoes. You had a really successful January and I believe you’ve got the momentum to have a fantastic February!!1 -
I'm Debbie age 56 from Central Illinois. I have been on MFP since 2012 and Fat 2 Fit since Sep. of 2016. My husband and I will celebrate our 35 anniversary in July and we have 2 daughters. One 29 who is special needs and lives with us and one that is 25 and married.
I have been losing and gaining the same several pounds for a long time. In January I got my head on a little straighter and have lost 7.6 pounds as of today since the beginning of the month. Now on to keeping that momentum along with my husband, daughter and son in law who are also working with me to lose weight. I have gone to the gym faithfully for many years but have increased the workouts since last August. My husband is also going now with me and that keeps us both more motivated and focused.
My goals are to lose the weight, become more fit and toned and to have better health. How much weight? Well I would like to look like I did in high school and those early married years, but in all reality those days are long gone and I will be happy with whatever my doctor recommends. How to get to that fit and toned look I want? I need to continue to walk and lift weights at the gym. Continuing to be a regular attender. The last goal is to have better health. How to do that? Well, hopefully by eating foods that are much better nutritionally and with smaller portions as well as drinking more water. More water?? Not a habit I currently have but hope to vastly improve. All in all what I need to do is two things: eat less and move more. Plain and simple!
So for February this is what I plan to do to move ahead.
1. Eat better and keep within my calorie goals, between 1200-1500 each day.
2. Exercise faithfully at the gym and get my 10K or more in each day.
3. Drink more water, 4-8 cups a day. I know, I don't ever drink very much, bad habit.
4. Keep my thoughts positive and be motivated by and for myself and my family.
5. Lose 3-5 pounds and get and stay under 200.
6. Take it one day at a time. Stay focused on today and not worry about what tomorrow will
bring.

Mike, 59, best looking bald man on the team. Since no one new is here, no need to catalog my life story, everyone here has heard me whine already. Besides, it's a new month, new opportunity!
This month's goals:
1) Post here every day.
1a) Post something I am GRATEFUL for or happy about every day.
1b) Unless it is something that disturbs my ability to do what I came here to do, post nothing negative at all this month. Except negative weight change, in which case see item 1a, above.
2) 5 pounds. DOWN this time for a change.
3) Try harder to log food. It works when I do it but I find myself falling asleep before I get around to logging dinner many times.
4) Watch Tom Brady weep in anguish Sunday night. Hey, a girl's gotta dream.9 -

Good luck!! Can’t wait to hear all about your first day!
The tucked in black boots all depends on how strict they are, I might not do that on day 1. Is there a Friday casual day? Maybe wear some nice shoes on day 1.3 -
Finally checking in! Yesterday was a good day as well as today! Just super busy at work. I still need to get in 2,000 more steps before bed so I am getting off line .... now!!4
-
Hi everyone!
Can’t believe January is over! Wow
Onto February now!
I have simple goals:
-lose 5-6lbs and enter march- 10 pounds away from my goal weight.
- lift 4x a week (50-60 mins)
- Cardio 3x a week (30 mins plus sessions)
-stay positive and no junk when frustrated
I feel like my weighloss has been slowing down now so I may rethink my diet. I focus on protein intake but I may reconsider my carbs big time and going lower carb way.
I was able to do full upper body workout today for 65 mins and 60 min light jog on treadmill. And ending day with over 20k steps - my watch has been charging so I prob would have had 1-2k more
It felt great to be able to move again without pain. I am not 100 percent but close. Workouts are addicting in a good way and I literally finally felt happy after bunch of miserable days..
Tomorrow I’m fasting til 6 pm (I will try to do 1-2 days a week fasting dinner to dinner aka 24h fasts)
Good night everyone!

Morning lovelies! Check in for yesterday:
Logged and on track
Water: probably 40 oz
Exercise: 2 yoga with Adrienne videos
I've also decided to weigh every day this month. Lots of weight loss articles I've read say it's the best way to know where you really are, since weight can fluctuate so much. So I'm going to add my daily weight to my check ins if that's okay.

I know it is not a lot but I was at 207 after Florida! I also thought that after eating out I would be up too. I am so happy! Lol! Had a great day yesterday. Not sure what to expect today but they said we are having a healthy vegan, gluten free lunch. Hopefully it is really healthy. I will checkin later. Have a great day everyone!
@jedaschultz You have had a great month and I am so happy to hear everyone is still on board in your family. It is so much better when you have support! Let's have a great February
@eyesopennow Your posts always crack me up! Great Feb goals! February is going to be your month.
@Carlsoda Thank you! I am lost with what to wear Lol! Good idea to be conservative until I see what they allow. (Which I wish was scrubs-I have quite a large wardrobe of those!)
Off I go! Wish me luck!4 -
@sleepymom5 good luck! Can’t wait to hear how it went.
@GingerPwr we are right there with each other in weight!

Intro
Happy February everyone and welcome back!
I am a team motivator and love ❤️ sharing my experiences and hearing about yours.
I started on July 11th 2018 with MFP and August with this group. I have had over 200 days on my “string”. I spent 3 months focused on macros and logging and measuring faithfully. In October I switched course. I gave up animal products, caffeine, gluten and sugar. The weight started flying off. I have only had 2 weeks since July that showed a gain. I have used this group to help me through holidays, birthdays, and celebrations. I have not had any meds since October. I was a big pill popper for headaches. Now I use peppermint oil for the rare times I may have a headache but nothing like what they used to be. My starting weight was 202.8 wearing a size 3x. Current weight 158.6 size 10 medium. Goal 142.
I suppose I was lucky. My body started rejecting food especially chicken, fish and eggs. But most things were causing issues. I was gagging and throwing up with almost every meal. I was diagnosed with GERD but nothing really helped till I made drastic dietary changes. I feel fantastic! My clothes are so little and cute. I am back to running and just finished 3 months of consecutive 30 day yoga challenges. This is all about my health. The new “cuteness” is just a perk. My daughter decided she would try this for herself. We are following a plant based diet. She lost 11 pounds in January and is absolutely tickled. Said it is the “easiest diet “ she has ever been on. I agree. I post pictures of my food often to show what my eating world looks like. I never measure, weigh or log. I was turned on to this approach from a member of another team. She also has had rapid weight loss and is down over 100 pounds. It can be done!
I live with my wife Molly, my parents, and our 9 year old granddaughter who also follows a plant based diet. I am a banker.
I just received a promotion and will now be a cluster market leader managing two branches and serving as small business advisor in our communities.
I don’t talk about my achievements to boast but to offer hope. Anyone curious can ck out either Dr Fuhrman’s Eat to Live or Dr Greger how not to die.6 -
