Check in for: Friday
Logged food: Yes, under
Water: good... lost track
Steps & exercise: Bowflex intervals, 45 minute walk; 11,721 steps
Good day yesterday. Its rainy and windy today. Food is pre-logged. Off to do my strength training which will get me to my 7 day exercise goal for the week then indoor chores. Not sure if I'll be able to get a walk in today. Supposed to get 6 - 12 inches of snow tomorrow. Yuck... I'm ready for spring! Hubby said he wasn't watching the super bowl if it would be the Rams & Patriots so... we're not watching. Can't remember the last time I missed a Super Bowl but I'm thinking of all the calories I won't be consuming since I won't be making all kinds of snacks! Since the weather is going to be bad I think we're going to do a James Bond marathon... ooh love me some Sean Connery!
@cyndiesstuff Fresh artichokes... trim the top and stem and then steam until tender. You just eat the base of the leaf. I usually dip in mayo mixed with lemon juice. Mmmmm... love artichokes.
Happy Saturday!! Wishing everyone a great day!6 -

Hello all I am amsandos, a Brit from the Midlands UK. Any other Brits in the house? I am 41 I have a 5 year old daughter and a 41 year old man child (just kidding the hubs is ace). I am really active but also eat a lot of junk at work. I have just completed a month junk food challenge by threatening myself with a fine to a heinous cause if I cheat. I am pleased to report it has worked. I will be continuing this although it will be a work place only ban. I am asking my work colleagues to choose a cause and putting them in charge of my free passes so that I am not a party pooper when it comes to special occasions but the point is to stop me from crazing on biscuits and left overs.
daily log thrusday
food a little over (hubby made delicious chicken curry which was rather calorific and served it with Naan Bread and rice.
water I have no idea
exercise 20 mins run, weight
@cyndiesstuff I have a message for your inner sabateur "Oi Ed Shut it" was it you asking about the spin swim? alas it is not an underwater spin session but two sessions poorly punctuated though that would be fun
I’m a “brit”, sorta, all my grandparents are from England but moved to Canada in the early 1900’s. Both sides of the fam are from Kent and I just found out one multiple great-grandpa was Lord Mayor of London! I’ve never been there but one day I want to. I really really want to just buy something from the Palace gift shop! Silly right? 😂

@nstephen01 that’s how I make my artichokes too. Sometimes mixed w minced garlic in the dip.
@cyndiesstuff very proud of you captain.

Happy Saturday!
Finally checking in as work has been crazy and when I get home I am done for! Between snow storms and very cold weather only worked 3 days at the office albeit I worked from home for the other two days. We are launching a few new products and it is an incredible amount of work to get everything set up to produce in May. I do love my job which helps!
February goals:
Birthday month for me and 7 other family members ( why are there so many birthdays in Feb?)
I want to be at 144 lbs by the end of this month (slow and steady will win the race)
Absolutely no dairy - yup it has crept back into my diet.
Yoga and steps!
And I am reading Marie Kondos book getting prepared for some major spring cleaning and organizing!
Have a wonderful weekend!!5 -
@pacsnc6 I measure the first of every month too.
This morning I was 40-32-40.5. I have lost a total of 19.5 inches.
In January I lost over 7 pounds and -4.5 inches. I think the running is knocking off the inches.
Let’s talk about sizes. I woke early and started trying on clothes. I swap my closet every month. Size 8 beautiful gray slacks fit perfect. Those low rise new size 12 Levi’s still too small. Size 13 hippy embroidery jeans fit perfect. New size 6 raspberry jeans fit. Size 10 work slacks starting to get a little baggy on the butt. Size mediums getting loose.
My closet now consists of size 6-10. All wearable. So you really can’t just trust the size on the label.
I am moving out some of the blacks and bringing in the reds and pinks for February. It feels like a Barbie doll closet. I love it!!!

Check in for: Friday
Logged food:yes and on track
Water: 96 oz at least
Steps or exercise: PT and Leslie Sansone 30 min and 10,006 steps
My first day of work went well. It is going to be tedious work, I will be auditing medical charts.
At least it looks like I pretty much make my own schedule. Training was more about what we are doing and nothing about how much we work and when Lol! I actually think I am going to get a huge stack of work, told I have until March to get it done and then I am on my own. I just set up appointments to go to different facilities and get information for insurance companies off the patient charts. My first day "business casual" outfit
I always look confused when taking selfies! Lol! @mrsbell8well $8 Talbots consignment jacket, it was on clearance, not sure why! I wouldn't have thought to go to the consignment stores if it wasn't for you!
This weekend I am going to concentrate on working out and keeping to my plan. Didn't have the best night last night but still wasn't too bad on my calories. I am off to such a slow start today, it is almost over Lol! No plans for the superbowl or anything else. I think my son is going to come over but that may be it.
@DananaNanas Nice loss! Hope all is going well!
@FieryVixsin Nice loss! Hope things are going well for you too!
@GingerPwr Sounds like a busy day! Enjoy the soccer game, glad you planned ahead!
@mrsbell8well I love how your family is joining in with you! Sending the pics of your meals will certainly erase any doubts they have Lol! And Skylynns pancakes tomorrow-she will be happy! Although it seems like she is certainly enjoying your healthy meals too!
@cyndiesstuff I am glad you have had two good days under your belt. What podcasts are you listening to? I need to work in that area too. It is funny how we can all be our own worst enemy. My son's friend decided after he graduated college that he wanted to act so this was his first play in a community theater. It was actually a great play. It is called the boys next door. It is about 4 special needs adults living in a group home. My son played their social worker who checked in on them. It was really good. I was proud of him! I even made him sign my program. Lol! It is funny seeing all these kids you have known grow up.
@lenka1 Nice loss! And beautiful new profile pic!! How are you feeling? All healed?
@zumbah_luvah Don't let that weight get you down. You basically maintained. Sounds like you had a great week so keep it going! Hope you are feeling better!
@pacsnc6 You had an awesome week! Keep it going!4 -
I really don't understand how I miss all these posts! I refresh the page too...
@nstephenson01 You have had a great week! I think a lot of people aren't watching the superbowl this year. I love that you guys are thinking of doing a James Bond marathon instead. What a fun idea! Hope you survive the snow-the groundhog says early spring so maybe you will be lucky!
@kirsten11872 That is basically a maintain. You did so well last week so keep it going. I think you have been going strong for about 2 weeks now!
@carlsoda Some of my family went to Canada too. I think my Grandfather might have been a brat and went off on his own. Lol! Thanks again about the advice with the outfit. I asked if I could wear boots with the pants tucked in and they said yes. They seem a little laid back. You are my cooking and fashion guru! Lol! I bought a mandolin the other day- I always thought that was just a musical instrument! Lol!
@mrsbell8well . that is so crazy about the sizes. I wish they were more consistent. I love how you are so excited with your clothes and closet! It is nice to be able to put together cute outfits! Send a pic of when you wear those raspberry pants, I am still holding back on my plum ones lol!
@shirin_K Sounds like a fun day. I like your plan to be mindful when eating. You can do this!4 -

Today's daily post, and it must be positive. MUST. So I will not post anything about the boss, but suffice it to say he is on the national news today and yesterday, and not in a good way.
His problems are his and mine are mine. Today my challenge has been solitude. Wyfe has taken the opportunity to go see her dad for the first time in four years. Issues with her mom have made this impossible for a long time and as he is in his 80s she really needs to carpe diem. So I woke up alone at 5 (rolled over and was jolted cos there was no warm body to snuggle, and thus the night was over) and ever since then thoughts have been rolling over and over.... ooooh I could go to breakfast at x, wings or jersey mike's would be great for lunch, I could have pizza for dinner, or I can finally slip out and have chipotle...etc SHUT UP ED.
So the positive part. My daughter called this afternoon and said she was coming over to hang out. With everything going on in paragraph one, my phone and email are going nuts, so I didn't want any company. But I begrudgingly said come over anyway, even though my childish self said STAY ALONE GET FOOD YOU DESERVE IT. So she came. And I am reluctantly not alone and not ordering pizza (we actually discussed it, she voted against it.) She is making stuffed peppers, which I despise, but hey she's my kid why be rude.
So, yay. The goddess or chance or whatever intervened and I will not be eating so badly today. And tomorrow, I will be working from just after church until about 9 PM so no real alone time there either. Wyfe back Wednesday 11 PM. tic toc.
Being alone sucks! LOL4 -
@eyesopenednow You sound like me! I have all those thoughts go through my head when I am on my own for meals. I am glad your daughter came over to distract you and spend time with you. Try to hang in there until Wed. you don't want to get off track. Maybe make a plan for the rest of the time she is away. That was you don't have to think when you are hungry. I actually think if you want chipotle it is a good option if you get it in a bowl and no rice or sour cream. I actually use plain greek yogurt, it tastes the same as sour cream. Hang in there! She will be home soon! xoxo . I hope my husband misses me as much when I am not there! Lol!
@twyla77 Saw your post on January thread. I hope we have those bars in the US. I saw them on amazon but want to give them a try before I buy in bulk. I am glad you had a good time at the party. I think if you make a decision to have something, like the pizza it is good. When you just mindlessly eat and feel guilty the next day, thats when it gets bad. You did great! Hope you found us over here. I did leave a link on the January thread.2 -

Steps for Feb 1 were 17,1051 -
I have been busy these last few days and next week doesn't look any better. I am taking a college class for work, ugh!!! It's online but it's keeping me busy and stressing me out. I feel like I'm going to miss something. My son has physical therapy a couple days a week plus Dr appointments. He is finally having what is hopefully is final surgery from his car accident on Friday so add that to my stress. I was very unmotivated today until noon time then I finally decided to throw in a Leslie sansone video, clean the house and do some laundry. I did order pizza for dinner because my Arbonne products arrive Tuesday and I don't know if I can eat anything other than grass for the next month, lol. I really have to read up on this new challenge. Should be an interesting month.3
-
@sleepymom5 I love your outfit and your glasses. You look very professional and lovely0
-
@twyla77 Glad you found us! I didn't want to lose you Lol!
@ljdanny It is hard to stay motivated when there is so much going on. I find if I take some time to actually write my schedule out for when I am busy I do much better. It makes it a little easier to find some time. Don't give up with your super busy schedule. You did well through your son's accident and the holidays. You can do this!! Keep me posted on the Arbonne. I am keeping you in my thoughts with your son's surgery.
@Mrsbell8well . Thank you! Shannon talked me into the glasses. My other ones weren't as big or dark Lol!1 -

Wow, here I was thinking that today was the first day of the February challenge, and then I log in and see all these amazing posts!
I've been a little out of it in January. Had a huge freelance assignment of translating 90 CV's from Danish to English (each about 3/4 pages long), so I did not manage to focus as much on my food logging and posting in the team thread. But, I completed the assignment, and I'm so done with my weight not having moved since last Summer, just going up and down the same few pounds, that I'm ready to rock this February.
So, a little about me:
My name is Irene and I'm 41 yrs old. I'm a Dutch national living in Denmark. I've moved around so much, I've stopped counting (including 1x to London and 2x to Dayton, Ohio). I've been in Denmark since 2012. I currently work as a freelancer doing all kinds of jobs from translating (Danish/English/Dutch) to helping with social media (Facebook and LinkedIn) to office manager assignments.
I started my current weight loss journey on September 6, 2017 and joined this team in November 2017. I've lost at total of almost 70 lbs, but as said before, I've been stuck since after last Summer. I have at least another 44 lbs to lose, so that is my goal for this year. Oh how great it would be if I can start 2020 at my goal weight.
My goals for February are as follows:
Post here every day (I've been really bad with this)
Log my food every day (I know it works best when I log what I eat)
Walk 10,000 steps each day (got a Galaxy watch last week from my husband, so switched from Fitbit to Samsung health)
Drink my water every day (this usually isn't a problem)
Have a great Sunday!5 -
@sleepymom5 You looked amazing in your outfit! I hope your first day went well.
@eyesopennow I'm glad your daughter came over to keep you on track. Sometimes we can be our own obstacle, and we need others to keep us going.
Check in for Saturday
Logged, a little over according to MFP, but I was more active than the exercise recorded.
Water: 50+ oz
Exercise: walked, plus started "purging" project. Now my kitchen is in chaos. I need boxes to pack this stuff in to get it out of my house.

More soccer today. If they win their morning game they'll play for the tournament championship. Gotta get camera stuff together.5 -
Daily check in

Spent the morning working. Had a hellish work day. That rarely happens. But I survived. Shopped w mom. Came home ate dinner. Went back out to two more grocery stores came home did yoga at 8:30 pm. It was a good session. I needed it. All set for a fun day of cooking.3 -
Check in for: Friday
Logged food: No but on track
Water: 42 oz
Steps or exercise: 15340 steps
it was a crazy busy day yesterday. after i got my morning stuff done and took my son home, it was about 1:30. so i came home and ate lunch and then went to the farm to help the ole boy with some work. Since it was relatively warm out, 38 degrees, We tore down the old chicken coop. we are another step closer to shutting down the farm for good. ughhh. am i sore today.
@lenka1 yay! nice loss this week. love the new profile pic. are those your plants? i am a plant a holic! it is my favorite passtime.
@Zumba_Luvah nahhh thats a maintain. you get better! and then worry about the weight.
@pacsnc6 i am glad to see you are measuring. it is a very useful tool. nice check in.
@nstephenson01 good job on getting 7 days of exercise in a row! We are not going to watch the super bowl either. and Bond..... James Bond is my fav too! thanks for the artichoke tip. im gonna try that!
@kirsten11872 thats ok kirsten. keep working on it. you will get there. it's time to change your mindset. maybe work on some positive affirmations.
@carlsoda you are lucky you love your job. it sure does make life sweeter. how's that grandbaby?
@Mrsbell8well great job on those measurements. wow. 8 inch difference in your waist. thats nice. my hips and waist are way closer. like only a 2 inch difference. totally agree on the size thing. why can't there just be a standard? that way you could now what to buy instead of having to try everything on. i hate shopping. have fun doing you prep work for the week today. soon as i am done here, i am going to get ready to go grocery shopping.
@Shirin_K you are doing wonderful. good job at preplanning you attitude about the gathering.
@sleepymom5 ohhhh you look very smart! love your choice of first day dress. I think your new job sounds interesting. and that is a lovely jacket!! it is the same podcast that @phoebe112476 was talking about. phit n phat.
@eyesopennow yes. shut up ED. I punched Ed in the face yesterday. I told him is he couldn't be nice that he would have to go. have you ever tried to work more on the psychology of weight loss? until you lose the fat person mind set, losing weight and keeping it off is going to be very tough. this is exactly where i am at. I am working on my thinking. it really needs to change and i am going to do it. either ED is going to get on board or he can take a hike!! Bye Bye ED.
@ljdanny How is your son feeling? Recovery from a major car accident like the one he was in can be emotionally draining. i was in a major car accident when i was 18. was in the hospital for 3 months that i don't remember most of. i went to counciling for a while afterwards to get my mind healed. i will be very interest to find our about this arbonne stuff too. keep us informed.
@ihp2015 february is going to be your month. it is full of possibilities. a great time to recommit to your weight loss. and really irene today is the first day of the feb challenge. we just all moved here when the calendar changed. so no worries.
@GingerPwr ohhhh i did the kitchen clean out a month ago. it is so wonderful when it is done!

Ok Team Weight No More!!! Today is the official start of the February challenge. Like I though, we did not get any newbies! Thats ok cause our team rocks exactly the way it is. Sooooo..... lets make february a month of changing the way we think about losing weight. You know...... I can lose the pounds. I have lost them before.... But in order to keep them off, I have to change my relationship with food and with ED. I know it is not going to be easy. These old thoughts and ED are deeply ingrained in who i am. It is going to take practice and commitment. So come with me into February and Lets tell ED once and for all, either he get supportive or he packs his bags.
2019 is going to be our year. We are learning to live the way we have to to become who we want to be. What would the healthy you say and do? lets change what we say to ourselves.6 -
I have been thinking a lot lately about how hard dieting is. The weighing, measuring, logging, restrictions, frustrations, discipline and the sheer battle with our bodies and mind.
Last night I asked my wife on a scale of 1-10 how “hard” she thinks my “diet” has been with 10 being the hardest. She gave it a 2-4. So in other words... not hard at all. I have to agree with her. If I’m hungry I eat an orange or an apple or a small hand full of almonds. Or a delicious plate or bowl of something super yummy. If I’m not hungry, I don’t eat. Even if it’s meal time. Easy as can be. I feel great. The weight flys off. Easy.
Gagging on food, seeing my weight increase each month, buying my first clothing in size 3X, measuring, weighing, logging, obsessing with ways to force myself to eat large quantities of animal protein and dairy products because they are good for me...now that was hard. Really hard.
So I guess my point is...this journey doesn’t have to be hard. There is a vast difference between being on a diet and making a lifestyle change.
Everything has changed. I am more lighthearted, more confident, and I have found my groove. This way of life is very sustainable for me. It’s a joy. I was writing in my new planner some pages for my February set up. I wrote on one note page “I love my life”. I just sat and stared at that page.
I recognize the wonderful freedom to find our own individual path to love, joy, health and success.
Hoping this month of love we all take time to find our groove.7 -

Seeing my family was fun yesterday and I kept my eating in check. Small portions of the Indian dishes and naan, a very small piece of cake and skipped all of the snacks. And they didn’t make it easy with candy, cookies, Doritos and trail mix all within arms reach. But, it feels good to know I did it.
Today, I need to get meals planned for the week and go get groceries. Lots of stuff to do around the house, too – going to be a busy day!

Sorry with the confusion with the threads, I think we are all here now. I jumped the gun when they posted the new thread, I thought we were going by the month and didn't wait until we were done with week 5. I will be careful next time.
Yesterday was a good day. Very lazy but I did force myself to get into the basement and workout. I also had chipotle on my mind after @eyesopennow 's post Lol! and we ordered it for dinner. I have my food planned for the day and dinners planned for the week. Two of my daughters are helping to plan meals for the week. My oldest Nicole's husband is working 2-10 shift so she has been joining us for dinner too. It gets a little crazy because if the weather is bad, her husband joins us, and so does her new puppy who isn't house trained but so cute! My husband isn't enjoying it as much as I am Lol! We have been doing really well with trying a new recipe each week. I have a pinterest board of recipes to try and recipes we tried and liked. So far, we have liked everything! Maybe I am a better cook than I give myself credit for Hope everyone has a great day!
@carlsoda Thank you! It should be interesting (or boring).
@ihp2015 I am tired of marching in place too. Let's make February our month!
@GingerPwr Enjoy the game, you will be surprised looking back how quickly they grow up. I had 5 and I still can't believe they are grown. Your movie snack looks yummy!
@Mrsbell8well Do you get all your foods at the grocery store or do you have to go to specialty stores? I wish I lived closer to witness one of your cooking/prepping Sundays. Maybe it wouldn't be so daunting to me.
@cyndiesstuff You're going to close the farm down? Is that a good thing that you are looking forward to? I can't imagine how much work a farm is but I don't want to assume it is a good thing. Enjoy your "warm" weather, I have to stop complaining when it is cold, we don't get anything as cold as you do! Lol!
@mrsbell8well I am so glad that you are happy with this new lifestyle. I am sure all the prepping will be second nature to you before you know it! I think what you have is what I am striving for!
@shirin_K Great job! It is hard to resist with so many tempting snacks are around. Isn't it a nice feeling to know you enjoyed yourself with out going off track? It is much better than beating yourself up the next day. Sounds like you have a busy Sunday . Hope you get everything accomplished that you need to.

First Curves workout went fine on Thursday. Simple but definitely still challenging for me. I think it will fit what I am looking for. It took 2 minutes for me to drive there from my house, which is a major plus in being able to fit it into my schedule. I went back on Friday and Saturday. Overall, I plan to go on on Tuesday / Thursday and the weekends that I don't have to work, but this crazy weather had me home from work a few extra days this week - so I took advantage.
My youngest daughter celebrated her 13th birthday party yesterday. I had a cupcake. My stomach was upset the rest of the day. I had been eating low on calories during the day to make sure I had some room in my calories for party food. I ended the day under calories because my stomach was upset from that cupcake. Makes me so glad I don't eat like that everyday anymore. I do eat a fair amount of "treats" in my diet but lower volume and less pure sugar, I guess.
@Mrsbell8well - Love your updates about your closet/wardrobe. I had one outfit left in my closet from the Kon Mari a few weeks ago that did not fit me (too small). Your post prompted me to try it on yesterday and the pants/ top both fit great. A new outfit to wear to my daughter's birthday party - so exciting. Thanks for the prompting.
@sleepymom5 - You look awesome in your outfit. I love the waistline of the pants in combination with the length of that jacket. Looking sharp! I am going to need to but a few new clothes for work soon. Getting down to very few that fit without looking sloppy. Might take your lead and look at a consignment shop to try to save money on clothing I hope not to fit into for much longer if I continue towards my goal weight.
@ihp2015 - So glad you are on the other side of that major work project. I have to be very careful not to let my work schedule get in the way of me having enough time for me and it is such a hard balance. I just cut back in one of my jobs. Hate to disappoint the scheduler, but can't work so much I don't have time to enjoy my life, my kids, and my health.
@ljdanny - Glad your son continues on the road to recovery.
@CassieGetsFit2013 - How are you doing? Hope you are feeling better, but happy for updates even if you aren't. Let us know how you are doing. Have your tried any more yoga? It isn't for everyone, but I am still enjoying it.
I am going to try to visualize / plan what in my current eating routines I can continue on my "diet" break and vacation starting in 8 days. I find that routine is the key to my success in making healthy choices and I am going to need to think about how to apply some of these. Then maybe go thru a few closets or bathroom counters Kon Mari style. I find I have to be in the right mood for that project and not sure I am feeling the mood today. We will see.
