Hubby's been needing my help with some projects around our place so my free time's been severely limited. If only he'd help with my "projects"... laundry, cooking, housework, etc. LOL. MEN!! Finally got a bit of time to catch up on everyone's posts. Such an engaged, energized group. I love it. So far this week is going pretty well for me goal wise. Hope the momentum continues.
Happy Friday everyone!!

I am sitting here this afternoon. It is that same time of day this always happens. I have already had my afternoon snack and now I am HUNGRY. The thought of going home and having to cook dinner stresses me out. That's where having made a plan over the last weekend helps. Now, lets imagine what would happen if I didn't have a plan. I would go home, hungry. What do I make? I got no idea. so I grab a snack to tide me over while I try to figure something out. then, I eat while I am cooking and then I eat dinner. so now, I am even more stressed out because I snacked when I got home and snacked while I cooked dinner and then ate dinner.
It is ok to be hungry. It is not a crisis. I will be ok. When you are on a weight loss plan, many times you are hungry. Many times you just think your hungry. Remember, it is not the end of the world to be hungry.
The other idea in this message is that you NEED to preplan and prep. By doing so you set yourself up for success. I know it takes a little more time. But it is SO worth it. On sunday, I spend a lot of my day preparing for the following week. I make a menu. I go grocery shopping, and I prep and prepare everything possible before hand. I have even gone so far as to prelog all my meals for the week. talk about making a commitment!
I love this @cyndiesstuff! Two years ago when I embarked on this journey I replaced 3 squares with several small snacks throughout the day. But feeling hungry makes me so anxious.
Tummy rumbles... peel a hard boiled egg. Feeling a little empty... grab a handful of almonds. I remember as a child feeling hungry because I had to wait for Mom or Grandma to cook dinner. I couldn't just grab something to snack on. It wasn't a crisis. I survived (obviously). The last couple days, especially when I know we're going to have a great dinner, I let myself feel the hunger. I don't like feeling hungry so its a new thing for me to just feel the feeling. And preplan, prep & prelog = winning!
Thank you for another inspiring, thought provoking post!!5 -
@Czvanut I am glad that you are part of this group. You are so active and supportive I feel like you have been here longer than just a few weeks! Thanks for the yoga tips. I actually contacted whoever does her web site to see if they had any tips for my nausea. I really want to do yoga!
@fieryVixsin. Nice loss!
@cafelelia Not bad! Moving in the right direction! I also had gained about 15lbs since the spring. My own fault, no injuries, but I do know the frustration of gaining after doing so well. Sounds like January is off to a good start for you!
@Mrsbell8well Thanks! I may look for it at Michaels.
@eyesopennow That’s not bad at all. I know you will turn it around
@cyndiesstuff Thankfully a quiet weekend of taking down the decorations. I remember this summer my weekends being from Thursday to Monday! Pennsylvania Pam is a little better behaved. Thanks for
Posting about hunger. That’s where I finished in the book. I plan to redo that part and then continue on Monday where I left off before the holidays
@kirsten11872 No worries, I know things get busy! I just don’t want you to leave us! You have a lot of reasons to keep you motivated. I know you can really do well. Get through the weekend the best you can and then get back at it next week! Hugs!
@pacsnc6 I have your last weigh in as being 166.6 so you actually are down a little!
@shirin_k I love how you had a yummy salad and everyone enjoyed it. It seems like you are planning and even able to schedule exercise into your busy day! You should be proud of yourself!
@coolchick207 amazing loss! That is awesome especially with everything you have going on.
Nstephenson01 Happy to hear you are having a good week! I know you are enjoying this time with your husband even with his projects. Have a nice weekend!

Busy busy day back at work. No time for a yoga class. I tried again to do yoga with Adrienne. I don’t know why - but I just can’t get into doing yoga st home. Though the why maybe in the two dogs and one kid on my yoga mat, one kid asking me dozens of questions about Zelda gaming, one dog barking off and on for no apparent reason, and my cell phone texts going off from some leftover work stuff!! I love Adrienne and don’t think the issue is in the presentation. Happily I have time for a yoga class Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Maybe next week I will put all the dogs and kids away and try yoga at home one more time before giving up entirely. The problem with this plan is it tends to get late before I can get them all settled and then I am tired! Lol, but I will try. Anyone with the same issue? I think the motivation is the me time, and lack of distractions, in a class setting. Plus I am not able to give up so easily with an audience. Hope you all are having a great beginning to the weekend. Power in team!4

Not really urgent, more of an FYI-For those who have been including their weekly step counts with their weights. We are not doing the weekly step totals with the weigh ins anymore.
This has nothing to do with the step challenge, please continue to post your step count daily on the January step challenge page as you have been doing.
Thank you and good night!1 -
@phoebe112476 I can totally see how all the distractions can take away from a workout. Especially a workout like yoga where peace and mindfulness are important. Hope you have a great weekend!3

I thought the January step challenge began on the 6th. Am I wrong about that? Can u repost that link. I think I’m lost.
@cyndiesstuff loved your snackie post. I’m sitting here hungry but it’s bedtime. Thanks for the reminders. No late night snackie for me.1 -

Logged Food: Yes, under.
Water: 8 cups + a little extra
Exercise: it was an ‘active rest’ day on my 28-Day Challege, but it suggested taking an outdoor walk or stretching instead of lazing around, so i went on a walk! i also did some stretching at home.
@cyndiesstuff you should hang on to that bedazzled jacket, i think that stuff is coming back in style lol!

I just wanted to officially welcome everyone to the January F2F Challenge. Our moderators have all been busy these past weeks and we have gotten behind with a few things here and there but things should be getting back on track moving forward. I wanted to give a massive shout out to our great friend Greg @Navydaddjtc for his amazing job taking care of almost EVERYTHING during our January registrations! We could not have gotten our month started without you Greg!!
I would also like to wish you all a Happy New Year 2019!
May dumbbells and barbells always are by your side. May fitness always be embedded in your stride. May you never miss your gym sessions. May you always have tons of motivation. Happy New Year!!

Phewww. I am so glad i made it thru yesterday. with a little texting from a friend, i made it thru the trip to cvs (i was sure i was going to buy junk) made it home and made dinner and ate a yummmy dinner. hopefully today won't be as bad. lol. I was thinking tho, what do i eat when i go out for dinner? i am gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and egg free. can i have a bowl of veggies please? raw? gonna have to find restaurants that cook more with whole foods.
@pacsnc6 thats just a baby gain. just water. just a blip on the scale. you are doing great. are you drinking enough water?
@kirsten11872 no need to apoligize. was just concerned about you. I am sincerely invested in your success. i am rooting for ya sister!! mmmm lentil soup and pumpkin muffins. sounds delightful.
@Shirin_K your salad is a true testament to the new you. look at you go. be proud. you had a disappointment onthe scale and you didn't let it stop you. you made a beautiful salad for your family and now you are helping them be healthy too. good job.
@coolchick207 wooo whoooo..... nice loss. that is 5 pounds girl! you are my inspiration today to stay on track. 2019 is going to be our year!!
@nstephenson01 i love me a good stir fry. you could always make your own stif fry sauce. that way you lessen all the sodium. i make my own sweet and sour sauce. look up how to make low sodium stir fry sauce. tons of stuff will come up. so much better for you too. Does your hubby know what his next assignment is going to be yet? we have been conditioned to think if we are hungry that we have to eat. now sure it is ideal. but certainly not a crisis. thank you for continuing on with us. you are a wonderful addition to this great team.
@lennoncpa yes! and the scale goes down. that is almost a half pound that is great forward momentum. keep it up you are doing awesome.
@sleepymom5 make a commitment to finish that book. it so changed the way you looked at things. thats when i noticed a very positive change in you attitude.
@phoebe112476 i know why you can't get into yoga at home. because of precisely what you explained. when you go to class. everyone there is there for the same reason. no distractions. mindfulness says block it out. but if the kid and the dog are right on your mat you need a more dedicated space to do you. try to find a place where you can go and have your space. if there is none, it would be beneficial to train you child and your dog what me time is. it is ok to take me time. i have a dedicated room. i am lucky that way. i can go in there and shut my door. you may not. so teach your loving family that mommy needs to take care of herself. because thats what it is. they just love you. so then explain it to them and then be firm about the me time. before you know it you will be able to have your dedicated time to take care of the most important person in the family.
@Mrsbell8well no, they changed it. i thought i annouced that. oh well. go there and catch up girl. your fine. here is the link. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10714714/january-2019-step-challenge
@twyla77 yes! you went for a walk. now you are show us. lol... i tried it on. it fit!! it was very short waisted. but wow. i wore that to church! i guess i was a little more out there that what i thought!

I went so overboard yesterday. Was fine until the afternoon, but we started drinking and binge watching a show and... ugh.
So I'm recovering. I have to go to a mentor teacher orientation this morning and do the menu planning and grocery shopping for the week.
Maybe I should do burpees for pennance....
How do y'all recover when you go overboard?6 -

@sleepymom5
thanks for setting me straight on the weight. I couldn't find my last weigh in on here so went with my records.
@cyndiesstuff
I am trying to increase the water slowly - a cup more each day - I seem to spend most of my time running to the bathroom as it is. Got to give the body time to adjust to this change.1 -

Speaking from experience... tons and tons of water... and fruits/veggies. Get back on track as fast as possible.3 -

I took yoga classes for years. Especially when first starting out there's no replacement for hands on guidance from an experienced teacher. Since moving I've tried to practice at home but there just isn't the same energy flow. I like Yoga with Adrienne but I just can't get the same vibe at home from her videos. If you enjoy the classes, stick with them. You will likely get more enjoyment from them. Good luck!!!3 -

water-I think I drink more than my perception. Going to start tracking.
Steps over 10k
yoga-day 4
yesterday was a mixed bag. I woke up early cleaned out the fridge, started straitening out the kitchen, made a big pot of pasta sauce with garlic, mushrooms and onions, made zoodles and did my yoga. I made a detox smoothie for breakfast with fresh OJ, seaweed, wild blueberries, spirulina, cilantro and barley extract. For lunch I looked at my empty fridge. Chose the 3/4 cup of orca beans and heated those up. In the same little jar after they were heated, I added mom's salsa, green onion, slivered spinach about 3/4 cup, red and orange chopped peppers and 1/4 avocado cubed. I shook the jar and thoroughly enjoyed it. The problem was the portion size. An hour later I was hungry again. Had an organic pink lady apple, 2 dates and almonds. At 4:30 I had raw pea pods and oil free hummus. It wasn't much but it killed my appetite. I was so disappointed cuz I was really looking forward to my favorite dinner. I stopped at the store on my way home from work and picked up a few groceries including some brown rice vegetable vegan sushi. Got home at 7:30 and sadly was still not hungry even though I really wanted that pasta. So we ate the "sushi" instead. Very satisfying and tasty but again I was hungry at 9:30pm. We were in the middle of playing a very competitive game of Fairynopoly with Wifey, Skylynn (9yr old granddaughter) and my mom. Now it was too late to eat. I think I was mentally really wanting that pasta and it made me antsy. I ready Cyndies message @cyndiessstuff and decided not to eat. It was the right decision but it was a weird food/hungry day. I normally eat a lot more at meals but both lunch and dinner were a little too light.
But that was yesterday. Today is a very exciting new day!
Have a great weekend everyone and welcome newbies!!!4 -
