Cheyenne loved being picked up, especially by DH. She was definitely his baby. She’d wrap her paws around his neck. I liked her but Cagney was my favorite. Cheyenne was a bit too clingy for me. She belonged to a woman who was going through a divorce. She ended up homeless so the animal control officer talked her into giving Cheyenne up so she could find a good home. June had a cat rescue organization much like you do. Both our cats came from her.

That’s semi-good news about your appointment. Just think of the goal as 1.25 pounds a month. That doesn’t sound quite as daunting.

Maryanne--I can't believe your NS order went via WV.

I'm not crazy about the Charge III. It is fine except the heart rate measurement isn't accurate. The other one I had was very close to that of the doctor. This one measures way too low and I have the band fitting tight.

I hav a cardiology appointment tomorrow, and I went to town to the drugstore to get my flu shot as they had just gotten them in.

It shouldn't be even a little bit daunting. But I didn't manage to do it the last six months.

But you have the motivation of someone watching. You didn’t have that when it was just you checking.

Personally, I think the UK should take us back under its wing but it would be too much of a challenge.

I had my cardiology appointment. They increased the strength of a drug in hopes the rate would decrease. They can't do anything about the rhythm until they are sure the clot has dissolved. I go back in two weeks. They changed the dx of the type of AFIb I have to a more serious type based upon the length of time it has been non-stop.

Here's hoping that that daggone clot is definitely gone SOON!! I'm sure you aren't eager for more drugs/procedures but are eager for them to do something about the rhythm.

Maryanne--The drug isn't an additional one but a stronger one. As to the procedure, no one really likes that but having had an ablation on one side of the heart, I wouldn't mind another one. They are more effective than a cardioversion. Time will tell.

My friend had a lot of problems with AFib. She was getting it every 2-3 days . Her first ablation made very little difference. She had a second one last winter and I don’t think she’s had an episode since then. She loves ballroom dancing and has been able to dance several times a week now Let’s hope you get similar results.

They will be doing a cardioversion on me this time. I got the word today. It will be discussed on the Sept. 26 appointment. It is felt that the cardioversion is more appropriate at this time. Neither an ablation or cardioversion guarantee AFib free results for long periods.

We'll think good thoughts for it to give you relief!!!!

I’m surprised every time I see a cat sit upright like that. I don’t think my girls could have done that.

Sad news locally. A football team from a neighboring county was entering the field at a game when one of the players collapsed. They performed CPR but he was pronouced dead at the hospital. He was a senior.

That’s very sad. He probably had an undiagnosed medical condition. I feel for his family and friends.

How very sad for the student and his family, as well as his classmates. Here in Texas a new law just went into effect requiring all high school athletes to be screened for underlying heart conditions before they can be cleared to play. It was enacted after several incidents similar to the one you described.

We are home from our week at the beach with DH’s family. Overall, it went pretty smoothly, but I woke up yesterday morning with a severe sore throat and laryngitis. Last night I hardly slept at all and I’m pretty sure that was due to a fever. At first I couldn’t get warm and then later I felt like I was roasting. The room was actually pretty warm, especially when we went to bed, so there should have been no reason for me to be cold. This morning when I got up I was feeling too nauseated to eat any breakfast but later was able to eat a breakfast bar and snack on some crackers. I also dozed in the car for a couple of hours and began to feel more human. However, now I’m back to feeling a bit nauseated and severely lacking in energy. I checked my temperature and it showed 99.5. It might have gone higher but I needed to do something and couldn’t sit with the thermometer in my mouth any longer. I think I will take some Tylenol and go to bed early and hope I feel better in the morning.

    Jean - that is sad!

Pam - smart law! Here's hoping you are feeling better today!

At least it happened at the end of vacation. I hope you feel better today.

Today my symptoms have convinced me I’m dealing with a head cold. Yesterday I had no nasal congestion at all, but during the night that started up with a vengeance. Now I’m still coughing a little, but mostly my nose is alternately completely stopped up or running like a faucet. I’m actually relieved since yesterday I feared that I had strep throat. I actually do feel somewhat better and I have more energy, so that’s a plus n

Pam - sorry you have a cold!!!

I'm so worried about getting a cold. I haven't had one since starting on blood pressure meds and not being able to take decongestants? I'm worried it will make having a cold even more unbearable than usual.

DH takes Coracidin HBP. It’s safe for people with high blood pressure.

He doesn't miss taking a decongestant? I'm really afraid I will.

He hasn’t complained about missing a decongestant. It seems to work well enough for him.

Sometimes the weirdest things disappear from our stores. The latest? Vermicelli pasta, which is what I'm used to buying because it's what my mom always used. Weirdly, trying to google what it's closest to in terms of what's still in the stores just left me confused. So what did I do? Order from Amazon of course. I'm now stocked for quite awhile since I seldom permit myself spaghetti any more.

I may have made my last Walmart trip. I usually go about every 6 weeks to buy a few things I couldn't find anywhere else. Yesterday, on my trip I found that all but one of those items has disappeared. What I completely noticed is a store reshuffling much like that of one of my closest grocery stores - huge areas for what I think of as millennial food. Brands I don't recognize, veggie burger type stuff. A pain because it was the last place I could find southwestern egg beaters. They also had a Marie Callender frozen casserole that DH loves.
