Jean - fantastic news about your doctor's appointment!! I'm so glad to read your results exceeded their expectations. I no longer do anything pay and then cancel. Too much like work and too easy for them to make it difficult. Give me a free trial and I'll pay if I want to sign up. If there was anything at all I'd ever consider signing up for thinking I could cancel it would be Jenny Craig and so far I haven't done that. I've got SO much food here (NS, JC, South Beach, Wonderslim, etc.)

Helene - I don't see anything blank or grayed out. Congratulations on losing 15 pounds but darn - a new scale that weighs heavier - bummer!

Pam - sounds like a nice celebration. A gift card sounds much better than someone singing to you or something.

I'm not good at stick with anything that takes time (cause I have none; also no patience for busy work). I can't begin to tell you how many copies of this I have purchased over the years: https://smile.amazon.com/100-Days-Weight-Loss-Successful-ebook/dp/B007V91HXC/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=100+days+of+weight+loss&qid=1571584979&rnid=2941120011&s=books&sr=1-3 thinking I'd give it a try and I never get anywhere near 100 days. That's why I eventually settled on the mostly already filled out excel spreadsheet as something I can live with. I'll start out for the next couple weeks working on controlling what I eat and then ease back into the spreadsheet regime as the novelty wears off.

I've toyed with the idea of overeater's anonymous. If I could just walk down the street to meetings or something I'd probably have already done it. Driving very far after dark, not gonna happen. I have looked a little at their online options but never went any further than thinking about it.

Pam--I am so glad that someone feels like I do. Humana has this home health nurse that is always calling to check up on what I'm doing, etc. I consider it a nuisance.

I looked at my account and can’t see any reason whyI don’t see Jean’s posts. It’s probably in the settings but I can’t figure it out. I see Maryanne and Pam just fine.

From their comments, I gathered Jean’s procedure worked even better than expected. That’s wonderful news.

As far as the new scale weight, it’s only one tenth of a pound heavier. Which is practically no difference. And the numbers are so much easier to read. I give it thumbs up.

Helene - that is SO weird. Whenever I can't figure something out, I reboot. If that doesn't work, I enlist my internal IT guy. (I called DH that at our firm meeting and I thought the room was going to die laughing).

If I could just sign up for JC food without the "counselor" I'd have done it years ago.

I have been trying to figure out Helene's problem with my posts. She sent me a message asking me to add me as a friend as I wasn't showing up on friend's list. The program wouldn't let me add her, so I went to her profile and checked her friend's list. All three of us are listed. I can't remember if I had to click on "see more" or what but I was listed. I am now down to wondering what type of OS she is using and if she has tried another. If she has been using a phone, has she tried the desktop, etc. If it is the desktop, has she tried a different browser, etc.

I did reply to Helene's message but don't know if she got my replies. I would have added this in the last post but the edit thing didn't show up.

Well, I still can’t see Jean’s posts But if one of you quotes her post, I can see it. Completely weird.

I think that might work. Her last 3 were blanks. See if you can copy and paste one.

That is a great suggestion, Pam. Computer programs can be so contrary at times.

So far so good with the food. I also got in 30 minutes of exercise in 10 minute sessions.

That was me quoting one of her messages. It looks different than when I quote someone else. Hmmmm

The easy solution is for me not to post.

No way Jean! If you don’t post frequently, we might think you’re back on the floor trapped, and send 911 to check on you!

I'm just frustrated. I sent her several messages yesterday but don't think they were received. We are all listed as friends on her account, so not being a friend isn't the issue but it just involves me.

I work today. My home version of the EKG continues to show no rhythm problems and the heart rate is good. Yesterday was a good day with food and exercise.

No, the easy solution is for one of us to quote your posts. Takes no time at all!

Jean, I got your messages and replied. For some reason, the replies don’t get through either. Can you see my posts here? I think it’s a system glitch. A couple of times yesterday when I tied to log on, I got a message the site was down for maintenance and would be back shortly. Did anyone else get that message? Don’t stop posting. We’d all miss hearing what’s new with you and Midnight. In the meantime, if Maryanne doesn’t mind quoting your posts, I can read them that way.

Jean, how do you do the home EKG? Are you wearing a monitor for that? Or is it an over the phone thing? DH gets his pacemaker checked 4 times a year. One time is in person and the other checks are by phone. He has a monitor that goes under the bed and plugs into a phone jack. They remind him the day before that there will be a check. They run the test during the night while he’s sleeping. We take the monitor to FL and they use that number for 2 of the checks. We have landlines both places. I don’t know if they could do the remote check if someone only had a cell. He just had the in Redon check this month and the pacemaker was working perfectly.

I didn't even know there was a "friends" setting. LOL!

I can easily quote Jean's posts. I'm really, really big on work arounds when figuring something out would take more time than I'm ready to allocate to it. LOL!

    Lin-Manual Miranda retweeted this:

All of the articles referencing the current implications of the Federalist Papers are really important. But I feel like we need @Lin_Manuel to hop into character for a minute for full effect here... “Sit down, Don, you...” (I shouldn’t say the rest!)

    Lin's reply was:

I get this suggestion several times a day.
I could make all of Federalist # 65 rhyme but it matters not a whit if the Senate doesn’t begin to prioritize country over party

Helene--I've read about this gadget of which there are two versions which can be ordered from the company or from Amazon. I got the version which just checks for rhythm irregularities and is a one lead EKG. The other is a 6 lead EKG. Check out Kardia Mobile on Amazon. It does a 30 second EKG. I checked with the cardiologist and said it was a good screening instrument. You email your EKGs to yourself or someone else if you want to maintain a permanent copy.

Helene--I have no problem seeing your posts.

I worked today, and also did well with food and exercise. Tomorrow afternoon, I have to take Midnight to the vet for a checkup. He is 16 and a half years old, and the vet said he was her second oldest client. The oldest one is 20.

Midnight has obviously had great care to live so long. I hope he breaks your vet’s record. Our Cagney made it to 16 and Cheyenne was 17 when she passed. We decided not to get another cat because of spending half the year in FL. None of our girls were good travelers. I do miss the company of having a cat in the family.
