OK, I just had to read everyone's wonderful and amazing posts before we start March's challenge.

First to welcome our new walkers!! So very glad that you are here, and hope to see y'all again in March :)

@evangsimmons170, I know I already welcomed you back in early February! Sure hope to see you back again in March.

@FascinatingFascinator, welcome to the February challenge I really admired how you made a very do-able goal for starting back to exercise!

@janicecavin, welcome @knjstolt's cousin! That is awesome. She is such an inspiration and determined. Yay for you for using LS walks for a number of months!

@damselfly7981, welcome! I like your screen name. Congrats on the weight loss, and I'm proud of you for keeping your commitment to your promise to exercise even though your exercise partner backed out. That shows that you own your own goal!

welcome @Yana220! 30 miles by 2/28 is an amazing goal! Happy that you are here.

@queenlily00n, welcome to the walk challenge! Great idea to jump right in and count the last few days of February as a warm up for March! Brilliant idea!!

Now, for just a few remarks as the time flew by tonight and now it is officially March:

@knjstolt, oh, dear :noway: ! Food poisoning is the most awful illness ever. My hubby and I also got it 30 something years ago after eating out at a little bitty tiny Thai food, or something similar, restaurant. Can't exactly remember anymore, but I still DO remember how awfully sick we both were. Ranks up there with how sick I was with a ruptured appendix back in my early 20s. So glad that you are well again.

@PinkyPan, that is awesome that you have the Gazelle now, which is a totally non impact form of exercise. I agree with @AnnofB to count it for miles/steps, and I'd add minutes also, depending on how you want to do it. As I have read further I see that you are able to count the miles!! Excellent :) .
I also have one. Sometimes I use it during the boosts in Leslie's walks as I can't do higher impact for the HIIT or Boosts segments. Sometimes I just add it into my total minutes.

I am way late reading through February's posts as I had been still busy helping with my baby granddaughter earlier this month, and then trying to catch up on things when I came back, and then the weather was amazing for a while so I got in over my head starting on the yard/garden spring clean-up/ much needed revitalization project, and then quite honestly I got caught binging on some chocolate and NetFlix instead of checking in on February, and sadly for sometime I was not feeling so well either, and so I just couldn't quite get motivated to be on the computer for any length of time, and so the month kept going by..... and by.... But..., I'm back again!

Everyone did so many amazing miles and workouts this month. Y'all are rocking the walking! And everything else you all did! I so enjoyed the catch-up reading. Way past my bedtime now.

    See you in March... :flowerforyou:,

Can anyone recommend videos for strength training? It might be nice to have some variation from 30 firm with Leslie.

Can anyone recommend videos for strength training? It might be nice to have some variation from 30 firm with Leslie.

I have some suggestion for strength workouts. Jessica Smith is on youtube, JessicaSmithTV - lot's of her workouts there. Some other instructors I like are Kelly Coffee-Meyer and Cathe Friedrich. Unfortunately, not many of their workouts are on youtube, but you can find their dvd's on Amazon or ebay and sometimes in Wal-Mart or Target. Oh and Collage Video, an online fitness dvd seller. And maybe your library will have some fitness dvd's. I know when I get tired of them I have donated them to my local library.

Have you done any yoga? It can really work the muscles. I recently got The Biggest Loser Yoga for Weight Loss workout on ebay. Its very thorough and you really feel it when you are thankfully done. There are ton's of yoga workouts on youtube. I recommend Ellen Barrett for yoga (The Yogini workout is great) and Pilates. Chris Freytag is a good instructor for yoga and strength. Her website, gethealthyyou has a lot of free workouts.

I track them in Excel and these did not match my Excel number, but neither of them gave me that .1 mile. poohey!!! :grumble: On to March!!!!

    Walk Strong Everyone!
