Hello everyone & Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope you are all doing well! I am still trying to catch up on all the pages of posts for this month.
I am off my game. I have been somewhat good during the day and when I go home after work, I have been eating whatever I feel like, it is not good. I have also been lacking in my workouts.
I am going home and then to the gym right after work tonight, no excuses! I need to get back on track. I am vowing to get my act together. I can do this!
@cyndiesstuff I am an all or nothing type of person, when I am in, I am all in, lol. I am not good at setting small goals, I always look at the big picture. It works for me. I will eventually get it together, but thanks for the advice.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This morning I went to visit a friend and her adorable 2 week old and then volunteered at my son’s Valentine’s Day Party. I love seeing how excited he gets when I come to school! So an enjoyable day! As far as food though, I’ve already ate more carbs and snacks than I should have and sushi still planned tonight. I was thinking of just taking this day off, but I know one day off often becomes many. So I’m going to make the rest of the day work and do some extra exercise to fit those calories in!
After a full week of the scale not budging, I was definitely happy to see it drop today. I was starting to question whether I was eating too few calories, or too many, or if I needed to change something, but I’m glad I gave it time.
@cynddiesstuff I’m so impressed with your steps!! You motivate me to get more! And great job all around this week!
@sleepymom5 So great to hear you had a good day yesterday! Your work still sounds a bit hectic, but hopefully everything calms down and works out soon!
@Mrsbell8well So many NSVs and good habits you have made in such a short time! Take care and hope that headache is gone now!
@nstephenson01 Sorry to hear things aren’t going as well as you would like. Don’t give up on this month though - you still have half the month left and can end strong. Plus, you’re doing so many things right - showing up here, doing your strength training, workout videos, getting awesome steps. Lots to be proud of!

What a busy day! I worked from home until 5:30, packed for the shore, had dinner with my daughter in college(I had saladworks and she had mcdonalds) in the car because I had Daisy with me Lol! I didn't get to the shore until 11:30. I don't know what I was thinking, I thought I would get to go shopping and get to do an exercise video Lol! Tomorrow will be very busy in the morning so I will only be able to check in quick. I have work to do but I am hoping to be done in 2 hours and then I am putting everything away until Tuesday! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so we want to get the dogs to the beach early afternoon. I also have to go food shopping early before the crowds get down. This is the busiest weekend of the year, even of all the summer holidays! It is Polar Bear Plunge weekend. No, I am not doing it but it is a fun weekend. Stores and restaurants that are closed for the season open just for the weekend. We were supposed to have a big crowd but their plans changed. So it is just my daughter and her husband and Jim and I. So not as much work and not as much food around. I have to get up early so I need to get to bed now.
@carlsoda MFP has been acting up more lately than I ever remember and I have been here awhile! But like you said, it is free...
@nstephenson01 Hang in there. I know it is tough with all the extreme weather you have been having . I am glad that you have been doing well, don't let the scale get you down! You have come so far, you can turn it into a Fantastic February!
@cyndiesstuff I was just listening to the podcast about planning in the car. I need to get back into the habit of doing it. Everything goes so much smoother when I plan. I also listened to the weekend one. That hit home lol! Thanks for picking up the slack today. It was a little crazy!
@bbcbw I have a big problem with snacking too. I liked @cyndiesstuff's suggestion. I may start just cutting it down a snack at a time.
@ljdanny That is an awesome loss after the stressful week you had. Sounded like you did great navigating around the treats at school too. You are really doing well!

Good morning everyone! had a good day yesterday. jim's daughter came over for dinner and i made one of my favorite dishes. Beef Bolgigi Bowls. it is a Korean dish. it was soooo yummy. but i was full about 2/3rds of the way thru. i pushed my plate away. i was satisfied. it felt good to be able to control my food even when it was totally delicious. if i want more, i can always make it again. i don't have to eat it all now. Credit worthy acts for yesterday. made my weekend plan, got my steps in, drank my water, listened to my podcasts, i did not nibble while i cooked, i sat when i ate, ate when i was hungry and stopped when i was satisfied, and no evening snack. i am building momentum and motivation with small wins.
@Mrsbell8well hope your headache is better. have a great weekend. i hope the weather is amazing. and thank you for the compliment. i am always learning new things. and even if they don't help me, they may help someone. everyone's journey is different. and i have never ever felt that you were hoggish. you come here and post as much as you want. xo
@kirsten11872 you say your all or nothing type person. how is that working for you kristen? maybe you need to consider a new plan. either way, i know you are going to figure this out. you are a smart woman.

Well i am off to work. TGIF. i have a 3 day weekend. that is always nice. has everyone made their weekend plan.
i cannot stress the more. you need to have a plan. a doable plan. that you can look back on and say yup, i did that. set yourself up for success.
Motivation and momentum are built on the back of action.

Whoo Hoo! Did you see that loss?! That is a big one for me. Lowest since June so I am getting there! Great momentum to start the long weekend. Actually I was hoping for a loss so I did not snack last night although I was truly hungry. Got to run. Hope to check in later but we are going to AC for dinner. We are also planning to take the dogs to the beach for a run later. So I have to go food shopping, work for two hours and get myself moving! Have a great day everyone.

Massive action, not passive action
The weekend *kitten* show. It will happen again. Gonna plan for it.
Going out to dinner with Jim
1. Start with a salad and a Diet Coke
2. Eat slowly, your mind is gonna tell you hurry the pizza is coming. don't believe it.
3. Eat one bread stick. your mind is gonna say, oh they taste so good, you've been good all week. this is your splurge
Stop and really taste the bread stick, eat half now and save the other half for after pizza.
Now the hard work:
4. PIZZA! cyndie loves herself some pizza, it tastes so good, my mind says I don't care if I am going to hate myself later, eat up, you will work it off later,
After a few bites of pizza, (I know it tastes good) really feel how your stomach feels. how full are you? are you at a plus two yet? today, we can eat to a plus 3, I have planned for that. it is still way less than I would normally eat. Is the first piece gone? Notice where your mind is. are you still in control?
5. drink your soda.
You can eat one more piece, you have planned for 2 pieces. but if you eat one more piece and your half bread stick will you be over a plus 3? At this point my mind will really be trying to convince me it is ok to eat past 3. but you have made a commitment to yourself. you can and will have pizza again.
6. If eating one more piece and your half a bread stick will put you over a plus three, make a choice, breadstick? or pizza?
7. You are now done. your mind is gonna say but it is so good. you can have one more piece. you have done way better than normal, one more piece won't hurt. STSD!! Remember, you are creating new healthy habits. This is the new you. you will feel so proud of yourself and next time it will be so much easier to eat on plan.7 -

thanks everyone for all the supportive headache comments. I am feeling much much better thanks! Looking forward to an amazing weekend.
My daughter sent me a text yesterday telling me she ordered me a new plant based book called "Eat feel fresh" it's based on an Ayurvedic approach. I was really excited since I had been looking at the reviews on this book last week. She ordered us each one. I was so intrigued that I started googling and taking quizzes. According to this system I have an imbalance of Kapha Dosha. I would wager that I am not alone on having digestion/elimination issues. There is a chart that describes what normal is and what it isn't. It is the first time anywhere that I have seen or heard of my symptoms outlined in detail. I was so excited and full of hope. So even though I am doing so many things "right" apparently I am doing many things that aggravate this state of being. I have been so confused trying to figure out where to go from here. I feel like I now have some new answers. Robin will have the new book for me tonight so I will be able to take it with me. My plan is to start implementing as many changes now over the weekend then go full force on Tuesday the 19th. I have a whole new long list of no no's and a new list of "yes yes". I am so full of optimism and hope. More later.7 -

Yesterday was a pretty good day, although at work we had cupcakes and brownies and cookies for Valentine's Day. I did have a brownie and boy it was delicious and worth every single bite!!5 -
I had a client so I had to stop writing...but to carry on. I slept 4 1/2 hours last night. I was up until 1am researching. I made jasmine rice, beans, roasted carrots, and roasted brussel sprouts to pack for today's lunch with Kitari spice. I also made a fresh batch of ginger tea to take to work. Had burdock tea with raw honey for breakfast. Gala apple as well. Snack lightly toasted pumpkin seeds and unsweetened dried organic cherries. The site that I found most info on was Banyan Botanicals. They are the ones that had the elimination chart. It's really interesting cuz I know Molly is definitely not what I am. I will do more research on what works for her this weekend. Often it is the same meals but maybe a few different ingredients. Fascinating stuff and I am always willing to explore new health options. I feel like I can stop weighing daily and start focusing on this new eating plan. It's so good to feel hope.5
