@ljdanny Maybe you are coming down with something and need the rest. Hopefully you will get back into the swing of it soon. I am not getting up nearly as early as you but I really like having my workout done before my day starts. I am not going to lie, by Thursday I am not as excited as I was earlier in the week but I get up because my day goes so much better. Glad you got to zumba . I know you enjoy that!3

Good evening! I have been staying on track with calories and staying off junk very well which is actually shocking to me... bc I don’t ever recall being so disciplined when here. But I’m very motivated- and I’ll tell you why down below.
I got pretty sick 2 days ago so maybe that’s the reason too. My appetite ain’t the best.
However, as much as I love my mom.... ...she has been really struggling with keeping her thoughts about my weight and weighing food for herself.
My husband and I came to conclusion she is “jealous”. Which is ridiculous bc it is what it is.
I got laughed at for weighing my food and told I eat too little and if she ate that little she would also be “skinny” (I absolutely don’t eat too little I get my 1300-1500cals from mostly protein and veggies and I skip all the carby stuff)
My mom always has been fighting with her weight and this time she really is much heavier and I think she can’t stand the fact I’m not eatiang junk. And she is.
She has been following some weird “lifestyle” for years and got down to maybe 160 and kept it off for some time but last 1-2 years she is back close to 200 lbs. I have been noticing her eating patterns. She eats some what healthy but she eats so so much. Snacks and eats 10 times a day so of course she is gaining. She is in denial how much she eats.
And she can’t have conversation with me that doesn’t involve diet and putting me down and competing with me
It’s all about comparing herself and her “lifestyle” to mine and saying well I lost 40 pounds before and I actually ate not starved myself.
Sorry for rambling but I’m shocked. I’m frustrated how much the fact im losing weight and looking good is hurtful to her.
She is my mom and I love her but it’s very hard. I’m trying so hard to change topics and talk about anything else but it’s almost impossible. I asked her multiple times not to start topics that we argue about. She just always makes fun of calorie counting and literally looking up and sending me links on YouTube where people bash calorie counting.
Other than that life is good lol 😂6 -

1/2 way through the week! I am having a great week. Everything is on track. My daughter is doing well, we are starting to taper her off her extra medication, I am caught up with the house, work is going as well as can be expected so I am really feeling great! I am really hoping I am making some heathy routines that I will keep up. I love planning my days and getting up early, it makes things so much easier. Gtg do my Leslie video. Hope everyone has a great day!
@lenka1 I am sorry that you are going through this with your Mom especially when you don't get home very often and would rather have a pleasant visit. I agree with you, sounds like she may be jealous that you are doing so well. You look fantastic and most of all you are doing all of this for your health too. Maybe reassure her that this is for your health not looks. I am sure you have done that already. Too bad you can't share with her the things you have learned, it could help her too. Hang in there and we are here to vent when things get frustrating.
@GingerPwr Nice loss! The 150s will soon be behind you!! We are so lucky to have you on our team! You are such an active, supportive and helpful member!7 -

Had a better day yesterday. got my hair colored and got a wax. always feel better when i was the grey out of my hair. I have been really thinking hard about this new life style i am working on creating. and this morning i cannot get an old friend out of my mind. he had worked hard his whole life, struggled quietly with his weight. but you could tell he struggled. then it was time for him to retire. he was able to retire at 65. over the next two years i watched as his weight packed on. he had never learned how to live and not eat out of control. he never said that but his weight told the story. he sat in my office many time and confided in me that he didn't know what to do but he knew he had to do something. then, 3 weeks ago, i got a phone call. my friend, my sweet friend, had died alone in his apartment from a massive heart attack. and was there for two weeks, they believe, before someone found him. now i am not telling you this to feel bad for me or him. i am telling you this because you have to take your health seriously. you need to do what ever it takes to make this happen. you need to be selfish and put you first. i am committed to make this change. i will do it for myself first but second for my dear friend who couldn't and wouldn't find his strength.
@amsandos you are doing so well. spend some time analyzing why you ate the "naughties" and then make a plan for what you will do next time. write it down and put it in you car. and then read it when you get that feeling. and trust me there will be a next time.
@ljdanny yes. the time change does cause distress. i just can't stop the feeling of something is wrong. i will adjust, i always do. but why can't we just leave the clocks alone.
@lenka1 wow. the situation with your mom sounds like a tough one. but remember she is entitled to her own opinion. the same as you are entitled to yours. we can't change how others think. don't argue with her. just tell her, she can eat her way and you will eat yours and you refuse to talk about it any more and if she continues... leave. we teach others how to treat us. a few times of standing up to her like this and not arguing just leaving. she will get the picture. i had to do the same to my mom. i feel for you. its not easy either way.
@GingerPwr ohhh girl look at that loss. great job. keep it up! the 140's are right around the corner.
@sleepymom5 awesome job pam. you are a rock star. new job, kid problems, and still on track. you have tons of credit worth acts.
@Mrsbell8well a half pound is good when you are getting so close to goal. you are doing awesome. with everything you have going on and you have still been loving yourself. great self care. keep that up!6 -
I will take the loss. Not an easy week.
@GingerPwr I’m so proud of you. With all your weekend food and celebrations you still lost weight. I’m very excited for you.
@sleepymom5 I’m really happy your finding a groove that works for you. I appreciate all the prayers and kind supportive words. Glad ur daughter is doing better.
@lenka1 sorry about your mom dynamic. There are lots of us that can relate to mother daughter weight loss energies. I’m really impressed how well your doing! Great job. Hang in there.
Thanks everyone for all the prayers.
Mom is still in CC but doing better. She swears this time she is changing her life around.
Maybe we can start sharing meals again.
Yes it was sobering. I felt like I literally held on to my mom and pulled her away from death. Someday maybe She can die peacefully in her sleep. Not in agony like this weekend.
Im hoping both my parents have some happy healthy years yet ahead of them.
We can do this team!
I can still make my goal of 151 by April 1st.
How about the rest of the team? Are you on track? Do you need to tweak and regroup.
We can do this together!4 -

Good morning! Happy Hump Day!
Feeling tired this week. I just do not want to get up in the morning, but I have no choice lol. I went to the gym last night, came home, ate a light dinner, then I was craving junk again. I lost control, not as bad as the night before, but enough! I stopped myself and started my fast. Today is a new day to start fresh again. I made overnight oats for lunch and packed healthy snacks. I will do my workout when I get home and try to stay on track. Summer is getting closer & closer!
3/12 Steps: 17,052
@lenka1 I am sorry you are going through a rough patch with your mom. I read an article once about how mothers can become jealous of their daughters, especially when they get into their teenage years and a little older. It reminds them of their youth and what they used to look like. Women can be competitive. Hang in there!
@cyndiesstuff sorry to hear about your friend! That is so sad! We cannot take our health for granted!
@Mrsbell8well glad your mom is doing better! Nice loss with all the stress you have going on!
Have a great day!3 -
Latest update. Mom has damaged her heart. They are looking at by pass surgery this afternoon.6
-
@Mrsbell8well keeping your mom in my prayers! xoxo1
-
@Mrsbell8well I am sorry about the struggles with the old folks. I will be praying for your mom as she undergoes surgery.
@carlsoda your dinner sounds really yummy. I hate it when I am in the kitchen way longer than I thought I would be. makes for a long evening. but we do what we gotta do!
@kirsten11872 I have the same stuggles with over eating. they say that with time of abstaining the struggles will minimize. I am believing that is true and I will continue to fight until I break this bad habit.
2 -
@Mrsbell8well I am so sorry. Praying for you and yours.2
-
@Mrsbell8well sending healing energy your way. Too much heartache all at once. Congrats on the loss with everything going on.
Amazing steps @kirsten11872
@carlsoda coconut chicken curry sounds yummy!!
Mother daughter relationships can be complicated @lenka1. I hope you’re able to come to some agreeable compromise and enjoy your visit with your family.
@phoebe112476 wow. Look at you go girl! Nice loss.
I’m not sure if this qualifies as a NSV but I call it a victory nonetheless... last night was “clean out the fridge” night. I’m cooking alot with my FIL here helping with the barn. We had a hodge - podge of different leftovers. I always, always make a side dish of veggies with dinner every night but didn’t have anything. I cut up a bunch of veggies into a slaw and made a spicy thai vinaigrette to go with. It was really just for me but FIL had some!! I was shocked! Small victory... maybe I try to feed him something healthy again.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday7 -
Okay team-mates, little team business. Would like to introduce to you our new team motivator Nancy @nstephenson01 ! You all know her as the one who walks miles in the snow with her cute puppies. Building barns in the winter is her hobby! I am so glad she accepted! This will make our team stronger!7

Mom’s cardiac catheter showed mom didn’t need surgery. Thank you team for all your prayers. Mom looks great and is very optimistic7
-
@nstephenson01 Congrats on becoming a Team Motivator! You’ve motivated me many times along this journey already and you’ll be a great addition to the leaders of the team!
@Mrsbell8well What a tough week for you. Glad to hear your mom is doing better and didn’t need the surgery.3 -
@nstephenson01 congrats on your new role. You're perfect for it. You make me want to be a better man.2

NSV in recent days:
- Put on a pair of calf height boots for the first time in a few months. They had become too tight to feel comfortable enough to wear all day at work. Today they were somewhat loose. Wore them all day and slid around in them a bit.
- After my second “basics plus” yoga class I realized why they call down dog a position of rest. Not that it feels super restful to me yet, but I now get it.
- My glasses keep falling off my face (irritating) and it occurred to me - I have lost almost 50# since I bought them. They are too big! Now whenever they fall off I think two things: I need to make time to get new glasses and Wow! I lost almost 50 pounds! Nice reminder 10 times a day.5 -
Up too late. I stopped working late, ate dinner late and just didn't realize how late it had gotten Lol! My husband went to NYC for a few days for the Big East tournament. We are Villanova fans. We both went to school there, met there, got married there and I worked there in the student health center for 7 years. Only reason I left was I couldn't do night shift anymore. So with him being gone and MK feeling better and going out with friends, time got away from me. I will check in tomorrow am! Good night!
@cyndiesstuff I am sorry to hear about your friend. That is so sad. A reminder that time isn't going to wait for us to decide to get healthier, it keeps marching on. Hugs. Good luck tomorrow xoxo
@Mrsbell8well A loss with everything that is going on. I am glad that your Mom is doing better. I am glad that she doesn't need surgery. Keeping you all in my prayers. xoxo
@Carlsoda I am not surprised your dinner came out delicious! You have been doing awesome on the Whole30!
@kirsten11872 It is good you put a stop to it and have your food packed and your plan for tomorrow. It is not easy but I know you can do it. You have been doing so well, don't give up now!
@nstephenson01 Congratulations on being team motivator! I think you have been doing it all along! Nice job with getting the FIL to eat some veggies! They really must have been good!2 -

According to Beck Diet Solution, don’t fool yourself into thinking that not working on your weight loss goal is the “easy way out.” It is NOT easy feeling out of control. It's NOT easy worrying about your eating/weight/health. It's NOT easy feeling overstuffed. It's NOT easy not fitting into your clothes. None of those things are easy!
The most important quality to lose weight successfully is to have is PERSISTENCE! The ability to not give up, even when the going gets hard. Because, in the journey of weight loss and maintenance, the journey WILL get hard, and then it will get easier, and then it will get harder again, and then easier. That’s just the process. The trick it sticking with it during the hard times, knowing that there’s a better time around the corner.
So then it follows that, being accountable for your actions is a critical part of successful weight loss because it enables you to recognize mistakes, which then allows you to learn from them for the future. It’s not about making yourself feel bad for making mistakes, it’s about learning from them to help you keep moving forward. Next time you make a mistake, take few moments and answer these three questions:
1.What happened/what was the situation?
2.What were the sabotaging thoughts that got in my way?
3.What can I say and/or do differently the next time?
I want everyone to think about this today and then share what your answers are to the questions.
I am going to try and check in later. I just don't know how I will feel. I googled the procedure yesterday and I shouldn't have. There was no consensus some say 2 to 3 days and very painful others say it was painful but they were better in a couple of hours. I am off!
ohh and @Mrsbell8well you hang in there. i can't imagine your emotional struggle. I will be thinking and praying for you to have the strength you need. xo2 -
wednesday daily check in
logged food? Yes and under
water? at least 80 oz
exercise and steps . Leslie Sansone tape and 10,208 steps
I have been having a great week! I am down to where I was last April. I am so close to onderland...Slept an extra 1/2 hour so I don't have too much time to write. I will check in later. I want to get my walking video in.
I was thinking about Cyndie's questions above so I will answer-
1. My mistake was finishing a sandwich when I was full.
2. The sabotaging thoughts were-we never order from here, it is healthy AND fits in my calories, it tastes so good, it is a serving so I am ok...
3 One of the things I already did was not order it again. We rediscovered a place we used to love so I just had a healthy dinner. However if I want to have one again, I am going to order it without a condiment so it doesn't get soggy and wrap half up and put it in the fridge for the next day. I think the key is not having it on the plate for me. I will also remember how full I was after I had it and how disappointed I was in myself when I willingly overate it.
@cyndiesstuff Thinking of you! Hugs!
@amsandos you really have been sticking with it! You are doing great! It is amazing how much of this is mental. For me at least.

Hello everyone! I’ve been busy (and sick before that) and haven’t been great about finding time to check in here. I’ve been keeping up with the posts though. I continue to log my food every day and have been sticking under my weekly calorie goal (to lose 1 lb/week) – some days have been higher, others lower. I’ve been getting my steps and plenty of cardio. I’ll focus on more strength and yoga again next week. My son has been at home all week for spring break so I’ve had to change up my routine a bit, but I’m enjoying the extra time with him! His 7th birthday is this weekend, so we are getting ready for his party too. Many of my family members are trying to lose weight, so I think that should make it easier. It will be relatively healthy food except for cake.
@cyndiesstuff Thinking of you! Hope it goes well today.
@sleepymom5 You are doing awesome! And good to hear your daughter is doing better.
@phoebe112476 Great NSVs!
